Elon University Department of Physical Therapy Education
GRS collaborates with the PT department on the "Partners in Anatomy" program, provides multiple placement opportunities for DPT students, and supports the Phone Program, which allows students to role-play a simple clinical scenario with our clinicians.

Elon’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program is built on solid principles of science and research. At the same time, we recognize a quality physical therapist is more than just a clinician. That’s why we are deliberate in our instruction of such values as compassion, listening, respect, organization and communication. The three-year, full-time program focuses on critical thinking, with an emphasis on treating the patient as a whole person with physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs.

Seton Hall University Department of Occupational Therapy
GRS and the Department of Occupational Therapy developed psychosocial programming and first year student observation in geriatrics settings for optimal OT fieldwork experience.

GRS and SHU are also national team trainers for AOTA Volunteer Credentialing of Fieldwork Educators.

The M.S. in Occupational Therapy program in Seton Hall University's School of Health and Medical Sciences is a professional program which prepares graduates for certification and state licensure as entry-level practitioners in the field.

The M.S. in Occupational Therapy program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education of the American Occupational Therapy Association. The six-semester, 84-credit program offers a unique blend of experiential and academic experiences with a community and entrepreneurship model. Through this dynamic interplay, students are well prepared to begin professional practice as entry-level occupational therapists.

The program is distinguished by its integration of theory with application of skills and a focus on knowledge of and sensitivity to culturally diverse populations. The School’s prime location allows exposure to diverse and challenging OT practice settings such as hospitals, rehabilitation centers, public and specialty schools and private practices in the New Jersey and New York metropolitan area, as well as out of state. While most programs provide only two fieldwork (clinical) experiences, Seton Hall’s M.S. in Occupational Therapy program provides experiences nearly every semester, requiring three full-time Level II experiences, equivalent to approximately nine months of full-time clinical work.

The need for physical therapists is expected to grow exponentially through 2014, as more individuals with disabilities or limited functioning demand therapy services. The Doctor of Physical Therapy program (D.P.T.) in the School of Health and Medical Sciences provides real-world learning for students and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)

Physical therapists are clinicians who work with patients to alleviate pain and prevent the onset and progression of impairment, functional limitation, disability or changes in physical function and health status. A four-year (full-time) program, the Doctor of Physical Therapy prepares entry-level practitioners to critically analyze and convey information to patients, colleagues and health professionals, as well as adapt to the rapid changes in the profession and the healthcare delivery system. The comprehensive 120-credit program is supported by doctoral faculty who educate students to become autonomous practitioners.
