Can I create my own remarkable story to document for the contest?
No. To qualify for the contest, entries must document one of the 25 remarkable stories selected by Genesis Rehab Services. These stories are posted on Rehab.com under Read the Stories >>.

Can a story be documented by more than one contestant?
Yes. The same story may be documented multiple times. Alternatively, some approved stories may not be documented at all!

What information should I include in my proposal?
The "Your Proposal" section is your opportunity to describe why you should move on to the production phase of the video challenge. Be creative, and provide as much information as possible on how you plan to document your selected story. GRS is looking to find out what sets you above the other contestants. Talk about your script, your song choices, your story boards, etc. Provide as many details as you can about your creative process; the more specific you are, the better GRS will be able to judge your proposal.

Does my proposal need to be approved in order to enter?
Yes. During the qualifying phase, you must submit a proposal for entry. Your proposal must be approved before you can participate in the contest. Approved contestants will be provided access to additional resources and information.

Who can participate in this contest?
Any legal resident of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia who is over the age of 18 is eligible to participate in the contest. Employees of Genesis Rehab Services are also eligible to participate as long as he/she are below the level of a director, and are not involved in the administration of the contest. Please consult the eligibility section of the contest Terms and Conditions >>  for additional guidelines.

How many proposals will be approved?
Genesis Rehab Services (GRS) will approve up to 50 proposals from among all entries to move on to the Production Phase. If your proposal was not selected, you may not continue on in the contest.

Do I have to obtain appropriate release forms to qualify?
Yes. When you submit your final entry, you must provide all applicable release forms from each person whose name, image, likeness and/or voice is included in the submission. You must also obtain permission for the use of songs or other outside media for which you do not own the rights, and must provide proof of documentation.

How many winners will there be?
There will be four winners total: one grand prize People’s Choice winner selected by the general public through Rehab.com based on popular vote and one GRS Choice winner selected by Genesis Rehab Services. In addition, there will one runner-up for the People’s Choice award and one runner-up for the GRS Choice award.

What does each winner receive?
Each grand prize winner will receive an engraved trophy and a $5,000 check. Each runner-up will receive an engraved trophy and a $2,500 check.

How many times can a registered user vote?
A registered user may only submit one vote per video.

Am I able to use actual GRS therapy patients and rehab gyms?
Yes.  We ask that you specify this request in your proposal, but approved contestants may also make this request. GRS will work with you to make reasonable arrangements.

Who is Genesis Rehab Services?

Our sites of service span 23 states and the District of Columbia.

How can I make sure my submission is clinically sound?
If your proposal is accepted, we will give you access to clinicians who can help ensure that your video accurately depicts physical, occupational, and/or speech therapy services.

When is the last day I can submit?
a. You must submit a proposal by October 14, 2009, on Rehab.com
b. Videos and accompanying documentation must be complete and uploaded on Rehab.com by December 4, 2009.

How do I submit?
There are two contest phases. In the qualifying phase, all contestants must submit a proposal through Rehab.com. Fifty (50) proposals will be approved by GRS to move on to the production phase. During this phase, approved contestants will have access to a virtual workroom. In the workroom, contestants can upload files, documents, releases and videos to be entered in to the contest for judging.

Is there a maximum video length or file size?
Yes. Your video can be up to 250MB in size and no more than 10 minutes in length. Files larger than 250MB or longer than 10 minutes will not be accepted.

What formats are acceptable for final submission?
All submissions must be in one of the following formats:

  • Adobe Flash (.FLV)
  • Windows Media Video (.WMV)
  • Audio Video Interleave (.AVI)
  • QuickTime (.MOV)

Additionally, preferred specifications for video submissions include:

  • Video Resolution:  1280 x 720 (16x9 HD) or 640 x 480 (4:3 SD)
  • Video Codec:  H.264, MPEG-2 or MPEG-4
  • Audio Codec: MP3 or AAC
  • Sample Rate: 44.1kHz
  • Channels: Stereo (2 Channel)
