I've been at apt for 7 years. It has been uphill battle for me. I went up to120 mg and am tapering now. I'm at 50mg and have a plan. It's probably been the only plan that I have worked on. Life has it's own plan.

I'm still going to the APT Fondation, I been going for almost 4 months now, They have helped me a lot.. It was hard at first but when they got my dose up to the right level I haven't used any drugs except what my Dr ordered at the pharmacey.. I feel great and I can't wait to get takehome bottles so I won't have to go every day...The people that work there are very friendly Kind & Caring.. I recomended the program to a few of my friends so they can get help, But you can show someone the way it's up to them to do it.. The thing with drugs is You can't make someone change The person has to want it to change...

Methadone Maintenance Treatment (MMT):

Methadone Maintenance Treatment or ORT (Opiate Replacement Therapy) is the use of methadone as a substitute for someone who is addicted to opioids (heroin, OxyContin, codeine, Dilaudid, Percocet and others), helping with the recovery process reducing the cravings for the opioids or used as part of the admittance process to a substance abuse treatment facility that requires complete abstinence.

Level of Care:

Intensive Outpatient (IOP):

IOP treatment is recommended for many individuals entering services to assist them to stabilize in treatment. Clients that have been engaged in services who have struggled with relapse or an increase in symptoms may also be recommended for intensive services. This level of service involves attending treatment for a minimum of nine hours per week. This is broken up into attending the program 3 days/week and participating in three clinical contacts per day (group, individual counseling session, psychiatric consult). Attending this level of service is based on treatment needs and is generally only indicated for several weeks. Individuals will work closely with their treatment team to determine how long they will participate at this level of service. Once completing the intensive level of service it is recommended that individuals continue treatment at the outpatient level of service for ongoing support.

Outpatient (OP):

Individuals who want to stop their illicit drug use can find it very difficult. Their need to satisfy cravings or avoid withdrawal can be so intense that they feel desperate and overwhelmed. At the right dose, and with psychosocial intervention (eg, counseling) medication assisted treatment can suppress opioid withdrawal symptoms and suppress cravings to help individuals continue treatment and avoid illicit opioid use. APT currently offers two forms of medication assisted treatment for opioid dependence 1) methadone and 2) buprenorphine (Suboxone). For people with severe opioid dependence, these medications may be prescribed for a period of years to help stabilize and support the person making changes in other life areas.

Treatment Focus:

Substance Abuse:

Substance Abuse Treatment Centers focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Opiate Addiction:

Opiate Addiction Treatment Centers specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Alcoholism:

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Therapy Programs:

Individual Therapy:

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Group Therapy:

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.
