NorthKey Community Care - Farrell Drive Focus:

Mental Health

Mental Health Treatment Centers focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Rehab Services:

Psychotropic Medication

Psychotropic medications (aka psychodynamic medication) are any medicines used specifically to affect and/or alter a patient’s mind, emotions, and behaviors. Such psychiatric medicines are often used to change chemical levels in the brain that impact a person’s mood and behavior. These medications include mood stabilizers, antidepressants, anti-ADHD drugs, and anti-anxiety medications. If medication is judged to be helpful in strengthening your recovery, NorthKey’s psychiatric services staff provide assessment, evaluation and supportive medication therapy, when needed.

What does NorthKey Community Care - Farrell Drive offer?

Intensive Outpatient (IOP)

Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs. NorthKey offers intensive outpatient services for adults who are using alcohol and/or drugs. Their intensive outpatient program follows evidence-based treatment protocols and is based on the best methods of promoting sobriety and recovery.

Outpatient (OP)

Outpatient programs are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare. NorthKey offers outpatient substance use services in several levels of frequency and intensity to facilitate the development and implementation of your personal recovery plan.

Residential (inpatient) Treatment

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatment Types:

Individualized Treatment

Services begin with a comprehensive assessment and development of a personalized treatment plan for you and your family. They respect the individualized nature of recovery in substance use. They also believe that thoughtful treatment by professional staff has an important role in effective recovery. The treatment staff help you identify the conditions and circumstances that contribute to your substance use and work with you to develop a plan for beginning and sustaining your recovery efforts.

Family Program

NorthKey Community Care provides services to help you improve the mental health of your children and family. Their professional staff understands behavioral health issues and how to help your children, and you, improve communication and reduce family tensions.

Aftercare Support

Case Management helps you manage your recovery plan and also helps you access other needed resources in the community. Their case manager meets with you to help you evaluate your service need, to help you develop your individualized treatment and recovery plan and acts as a coach to encourage you along your plan. Your case manager meets with you at scheduled times, helps monitor your progress and quality of services received and assists you in making connections with other supportive community resources important for your recovery process.

Therapies Offered:

Individual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Group Therapy

Group therapy helps you discuss, develop and improve your personal recovery as well as helps you learn from others who are engaging in recovery. Their therapeutic group helps you improve your life skills and acquire a support system for those times when your recovery is challenged.

Life Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.
