Project Turnabout - Granite Falls is a nonprofit rehab located in Granite Falls, Minnesota. Project Turnabout - Granite Falls specializes in the treatment of mental health, substance, drug and alcohol abuse.

Project Turnabout - Granite Falls Focus:

Opiate Addiction

Opiate Addiction Treatment Centers specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Alcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Mental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse treatment center has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Rehab Services:

Medically Assisted Detox

Detoxification is conducted by round-the-clock nursing staff, who are specifically trained to facilitate and monitor a patient’s health and well being during the period they are initially withdrawing from chemicals. Nursing staff use established protocols to monitor patients’ withdrawal progression and administer medications as needed to reduce the risk of severe withdrawal symptoms. Project Turnabout does not support the use of Suboxone, Subutex, or Methadone as maintenance medications for opiate withdrawal and works with either local medical providers or a patient’s primary physician to taper patients off these medications.

Naltrexone

Naltrexone is often used along with psychiatric counseling and social support to treat individuals undergoing drug or alcohol rehabilitation treatment.

What does Project Turnabout - Granite Falls offer?

24 Hour Clinical Care

At certain points in the recovery process, it’s important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.

Intensive Outpatient (IOP)

Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Outpatient (OP)

Project Turnabout’s Intensive Outpatient Program model embraces the same care approach as residential programs. The approximately eight-week program is offered daytimes and evenings, depending on location. These programs offer the flexibility one needs to continue other obligations in addition to learning new tools for their life in recovery.

Residential (inpatient) Treatment

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatment Types:

Individualized Treatment

Certain drug and alcohol rehab centers have standard treatment regimes they expect all patients to follow. Others offer individualized treatment, meaning they tailor treatment to a person’s specific background and needs. For example, a rehab facility may adjust a treatment program to take into account the type of drug or addiction from which the person suffers, their age, medical condition(s), religious beliefs, or lifestyle.

12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex & Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

Family Program

Family Recovery Program provides valuable education on alcohol, drug and problem gambling addictions for the family members of patients. This fundamental daytime program offers families the opportunity to interact and connect with other families experiencing the same or similar issues. All while expanding their education on their loved one’s addictive illness, providing support. The families learn the importance of their own self-care and honest, open communication.

Aftercare Support

The program model embraces the same care approach as our as our residential programs. Clients therefore participate in group therapy sessions, lectures, individual counseling, family education and 12-Step support groups. Admission to continuing care program typically follows the completion of any residential treatment program or intensive outpatient program. This then offers clients the ability and time to mindfully step down from a treatment based approach to recovery into a self-initiated approach. The approximately 12-week program is offered daytimes and evenings, depending upon location. This then allows the patients the utmost flexibility to continue meeting their family, educational, and work obligations.

Therapies Offered:

Holistic Therapy

Rather than focusing solely on addiction, holistic therapy facilities treat patients in terms of their whole being. Holistic therapy is about more than just addiction and sobriety – it addresses the person’s life in its entirety, including career, physical, familial, and spiritual aspects.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CMT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Individual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Experiential Therapy

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional “talk therapy” by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Life Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Project Turnabout - Granite Falls Highlights:

Project Turnabout’s continuum of treatment and recovery services is designed to provide the right mix of services to fit the needs of each of our patients. From prevention to detox, inpatient to outpatient treatment, transitional living and long-term community services.
Private
Project Turnabout believes that while treatment happens through discovery, recovery happens through community. That is why they opened two sober living homes in Willmar, Minnesota. Their homes serve as a starting point for those in recovery to again become responsible members of the community. Their private residences for men and women provide a gambling, alcohol, and drug-free environment. They offer inexpensive and temporary housing for up to two years. The residents also have opportunities to advance their skills and education. Through the area, they can access academic resources, skill building networks, and area employment opportunities.
