Ridgeview Ranch

Ridgeview Ranch offers inpatient and intensive outpatient treatment for individuals with alcohol and/or substance addiction. The holistic program includes aftercare support, art therapy, yoga, meditation, hypnotherapy and more. Ridgeview Ranch is located at Altadena, California.

Ridgeview Ranch Focus:

Opiate Addiction

Opiate Addiction Treatment Centers specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Alcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Mental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse treatment center has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Dual Diagnosis/Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment

What sets Ridgeview Ranch apart from other residential treatment centers is their commitment to people who struggle with substance abuse coupled with co-occurring disorders. The treatment of co-occurring disorders focuses on treating the comorbid condition found in many individuals who have to battle mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder in addition to their drug and alcohol addiction. Combined and left untreated, both diagnoses may affect the individual on all levels of their life and make the maintenance of long-term sobriety impossible. To have an effective treatment experience both illnesses must be assessed and diagnosed clinically and then treated with a thoughtful and individualized treatment plan.

What does Ridgeview Ranch offer?

Intensive Outpatient (IOP)

Ridgeview Ranch Intensive Outpatient Program provides a 36-session intensive outpatient program for their clients who are chemically dependent or abusing mood-altering substances. Three one-hour groups are held 3 to 5 times per week and include a family component. Their sober living provides additional support during this level of care.

Outpatient (OP)

Outpatient programs are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Residential (inpatient) Treatment

Ridgeview Ranch Residential Treatment Program offers an intensive program. It operates seven days a week beginning at 9:00 AM for a minimum of 45 hours per week. Five evenings a week, residential clients are directed to 12-Step meetings within the community as well as to a multi-family counseling group. Residential clients live at the facility with 24-hour supervision. This service is provided to both men and women who are chemical dependent, 18 to 60 years of age.

Treatment Types:

Individualized Treatment

Certain drug and alcohol rehab centers have standard treatment regimes they expect all patients to follow. Others offer individualized treatment, meaning they tailor treatment to a person’s specific background and needs. For example, a rehab facility may adjust a treatment program to take into account the type of drug or addiction from which the person suffers, their age, medical condition(s), religious beliefs, or lifestyle.

12-Step

12-step focus meetings are not only for alcoholics, drug addicts and other kinds of addictions. They can also benefit everyone because they allow people to come into a safe, confidential environment that allows them to express their feelings without the fear of being attacked or judged.

Family Program

The client’s family is highly encouraged to be a part of the recovery process. Their family program is based on the understanding that when a client returns to the family environment the dynamics will change. Their goal is to help family members and loved ones to comprehend addiction and the ramifications of co-dependency. They help the family and client to improve their communications and problem in a safe and supportive environment. They try to bring awareness, understanding, and resolution, not just for the client but for the family members so together they can start the healing process.

Aftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn’t spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community  programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA). Clients who successfully complete Ridgeview Ranch's drug and alcohol treatment program receive 12 months free aftercare support and follow-up through their MAP Continuing Care Program. The team is committed to serving their clients well into their sobriety. They also offer a Continuing Care Group once a week on Saturday’s where their clients can check in with one of their Counselors.

Therapies Offered:

Holistic Therapy

Ridgeview Ranch believes that addiction touches every aspect of a person’s life and therefore effective drug and alcohol rehab treatment must address the Whole Person. Whole Person treatment is Mental, Emotional, Physical, and Spiritual. At Ridgeview Ranch, they have combined a wide array of activities and therapies that have proven to promote healthy living by decreasing stress and improving physical conditioning in addition to practices that quiet the mind for deep personal reflection. They believe they offer strategies that help their clients find “balance”. They are pleased to offer these activities as a regular part of the weekly program for their clients. They are able to create “individual” sessions tailored to address specific issues and needs as they arise from the rehab treatment experience. Their Holistic Therapy Practitioners are either Certified and/or Licensed and come to us with many years of experience.

Individual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Couples Treatment

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person’s life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Equine Therapy

Equine therapy, aka equine-assisted therapy (EAT), is a form of experiential therapy that involves interactions and activities with horses. It does not necessarily involve riding horses, but all activities related to horses, such as feeding, grooming, haltering and leading them. A mental health professional frequently oversees the activities (often in conjunction with a horse professional), and helps patients process their thoughts, feelings, and behavior patterns during and/or after the interaction.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is a therapeutic modality originally developed to help process trauma. In an EMDR session, a patient is prompted to undergo eye movements that mimic those of REM sleep. This is accomplished by watching a therapist’s finger move back and forth across, or following a bar of light. The goal is repetitive sets of eye movements that help the brain reprocess memory, which can significantly reduce the intensity of remembered traumatic incidents. Associated memories can heal simultaneously, leaving patients significantly calmer, more stable, and more emotionally relaxed.

Nutrition Therapy

Daily meal plans using organic vegetables and fruits are prepared everyday by our private chef on-site. These delicious gourmet meals (served at both men and women’s facilities) are part of the recovery plan to restore physical well-being of our clients.

Creative Arts Therapy

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.
