About Unlimited Bounds Human Services

Unlimited Bounds Human Services serves as an outpatient clinic for substance use disorder for the residents of Baltimore, Maryland. They also provide human services such as housing resources, GED preparation, and other assistance.

The center accepts Maryland Medicaid, TRICARE, and other insurance coverage. For those who qualify, treatment is free through community funding, grants, and local organizations.

Medically Supervised Treatments

Your program may include prescribed medication to address withdrawal symptoms and cravings. If you are diagnosed with a co-occurring mental health disorder, you receive integrated treatment for all diagnosed disorders. You may be prescribed psychiatric medication.

Levels of Treatment

They offer standard outpatient programs with individual and group counseling to prevent relapse and support your emotional well being. They also offer more intensive outpatient programs like intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) and partial hospitalization programs (PHPs) when your treatment needs require greater attention and structured care.

Additionally, they offer dual diagnosis treatment if you have a co-occurring mental health condition. This integrated treatment is also available in the free program, recognizing that substance use disorders and mental health conditions often appear simultaneously. They understand that treatment must also be simultaneous to improve your potential for successful sobriety.

Substance Use Therapy Treatments

Therapies include CBT, music project therapy, and healing imagery therapy. Music therapy allows clients to destress and benefit emotionally and psychologically. Clients work in a group session on music projects or share songs that have a significant meaning for that client.

Sober Housing Aftercare

We know that clients who have used substances for an extended period of time and/or have had a history of heavy substance use require an extended period of treatment. For these clients we recommend taking advantage of the center’s sober housing option. Sober housing offers ongoing therapy and support while helping clients get back on their feet.

I can honestly say that Unlimited Bounds has been a life-changing experience for me. After attending multiple treatment centers throughout the Baltimore area, this is the only program that has truly helped me stay clean. Their approach to recovery is genuine, structured, and deeply supportive. The PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program) and IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) classes are not only informative but incredibly engaging and motivating. Each session is designed to challenge your thinking, build your coping skills, and help you grow in your recovery journey. The staff here truly sets Unlimited Bounds apart. Dawn, Jackson, Star, Eric, Mr. Rowe, Shaheed—your guidance and encouragement have meant more to me than I can put into words. A special shoutout to Mr. Austin and the entire administrative team and counselors who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly. And of course, Mr. Ben and Cuff—you both rock. Your energy and dedication are unmatched. Unlimited Bounds isn’t just a treatment center—it’s a place where people care, listen, and fight alongside you for your sobriety. I’m beyond grateful for the second chance this program has given me. If you’re serious about recovery and want real support, this is the place to be!!!!!!

Unlimited Bounds has been a true blessing in my recovery journey. I’ve been through other programs in the Baltimore area before, but none have come close to the level of care, support, and structure that I’ve experienced here. The PHP and IOP classes have been a major turning point for me. They're not only educational, but they also helped me dig deep into the root causes of my addiction and taught me how to stay focused on healing. The lessons are real, the tools are practical, and the impact is lasting. I can’t say enough good things about the staff and leadership. From day one, I felt heard and supported. Jaleel, Star, Eric, Mr. Rowe, and Shaheed—each of you brings something special that makes this place feel like more than just a program. Mr. Austin and the admin team have always been professional and kind, making sure we feel cared for beyond the classroom. And to Mr. Ben and Cuff—you bring strength and positivity that lifts everyone up. Thank you for being real. Unlimited Bounds gave me hope when I was losing it. I’m clean today because of the people here who believed in me. If anyone is looking for a program that will truly support their recovery, I couldn’t recommend this place more. ❤️

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Commonly known as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term intensive rehab option designed to provide treatment during the day and you're able to return home at night. PHP treatment offers structured programming, including individual and group therapy, typically meeting 3-5 days a week for 6-8 hours per day. PHP duration averages around 90 days, with some programs offering amenities like transportation and meals.

Clients who are leaving inpatient rehab often choose to transition into an intensive outpatient program (IOP) to receive high-level support as they reintegrate into their home, workplace, and community. Intensive outpatient rehab also benefits those at risk of relapse. Clients typically participate in nine to 20 hours of treatment weekly, with modalities ranging from psychotherapy to addiction and recovery education. Many programs also provide medication assisted treatment (MAT) and complementary care, such as nutrition counseling, and acupuncture.

Clients who are exiting detox or intensive inpatient treatment often enroll in outpatient rehab programs to ensure a robust continuity of care. Outpatient programs allow clients to remain in or return to their homes and workplaces while continuing to receive treatment, which typically includes addiction counseling and recovery-focused life skills training. Clients in opioid and/or alcohol recovery may also receive medication assisted treatment (MAT), including medication induction and maintenance, at an outpatient facility.

Treatments

Alcohol use disorder (AUD), commonly referred to as alcoholism, can be classified as mild, moderate, or severe. Each category involves unhealthy patterns of alcohol consumption and can cause harmful effects. To treat alcohol addiction at any level, alcohol rehab in Maryland is often necessary. These treatment programs provide psychological, social, and medical supports that help individuals overcome alcohol addiction and maintain long-term recovery.

Once a person has become addicted to a substance, drug rehab in Maryland is often necessary to overcome that addiction. These programs provide the tools individuals need to manage the physical, mental, and emotional issues involved and begin a successful recovery journey.

In Maryland, substance abuse treatment programs support individuals struggling with drugs or alcohol, and those who also have mental health conditions. These rehab programs vary, depending on the level of care you need. That might include inpatient rehab, or an outpatient program. Typically, substance abuse treatment includes evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), recovery support meetings, and skills groups to equip you with new coping strategies when you leave rehab.

Maryland's addiction experts understand the importance of dual-diagnosis addiction treatment in their inpatient and outpatient recovery programs. Dual-diagnosis means having two mental health disorders at the same time, like addiction and depression. By treating individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health conditions simultaneously, they can enhance recovery outcomes and improve overall health, reducing the risk of relapse. Programs include evidence-based therapies, family counseling, recovery support groups, and skills training. Additional services may include medically assisted detox, 12-Step facilitation, equine therapy, complementary treatments, and alumni programs.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in Maryland emphasizes your current life rather than what has happened in the past. Your therapist will help you develop methods to deal with current and future challenges so you can cope in healthy ways that don't involve substances.

During dialectical behavior therapy sessions, you'll review the challenges you faced the previous week and the feelings you experienced during those times. You and your therapist will engage in problem solving, discussing how you can handle those situations in the future for a better outcome. This involves keeping a diary throughout the week to track your emotions.

Individualized one on one therapy allows the therapist to focus on your specific challenges and strengths. Using a personalized approach enables the therapist to help you develop effective coping mechanisms and build a more stable and fulfilling substance free life.

Cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing techniques are often part of group therapy sessions. These are evidence based techniques that address thinking and behavioral patterns that trigger addictive behavior. Learning how to address these thought patterns can help create lasting change.
