About the Facility
Alaska VA Healthcare and Behavioral Health Services provides mental health treatment and dual diagnosis treatment to Veterans and active military personnel in the Anchorage, Alaska area. If addiction is the primary diagnosis, clients may need to be referred to an inpatient or residential drug rehab center.
Alaska VA Healthcare and Behavioral Health Services uses a trauma-informed lens to assist individuals who have been through challenges from serving in combat. Their programming is offered on an outpatient basis.
Outpatient Treatment
The outpatient program is best suited for those who do not need a high level of care and support. Referrals are placed if a client needs inpatient care. Individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, and trauma care are available. Clients also have access to case management.
Private Insurance
Alaska VA Healthcare and Behavioral Health Services accepts VA insurance. If a prospective client is interested in using insurance outside of VA benefits, out of network benefits may vary, so it’s important to verify coverage with the insurance provider.
Treatment
Mental Health
During inpatient addiction treatment, you live at the facility while receiving mental health services. Around the clock supervision by clinical and mental health providers creates a safe environment–whether it’s in a hospital, clinic, or luxury facility. Most inpatient programs last 30 days, but some last several months. Mental health programs include assessment, individual and group counseling, education on addiction recovery, relapse prevention, and training in emotional regulation.
