About the Facility

A&A Health Services is a private boutique drug and alcohol rehabilitation center in San Pablo, California. They focus on creating a comfortable, home like setting for their adult clients that makes them more receptive to treatment. They have luxury amenities in a quiet and secluded setting.

The initial assessment takes more than a client’s addiction into account. The care team looks at the whole person and their current situation to help them chart a course to recovery so that they can live their best lives.

Clients in the inpatient program reside at the facility for the duration of treatment, which varies from person to person based on their needs. The inpatient facility is a home like residence built to create as comfortable an atmosphere as possible so clients can focus on recovery. Clients receive monitoring and care 24 hours a day from their medical support team.

A&A Health Services follows a psychiatric model that explores how addictive behaviors influence other areas of a client’s life. The ultimate goal is behavioral change through therapy in individual and group settings. Education opportunities are also available to aid in skill building.

A&A Health Services helps clients who have recently completed the program with ongoing aftercare. Clients meet with their care team before discharge to devise long term plans to support continuing recovery. Aftercare includes goal setting, securing housing and employment, and connecting clients with local resources, like support groups.

When addiction exists alongside other behavioral health issues, such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder, it becomes more challenging to treat. Rather than focusing solely on addiction treatment, dual diagnosis integrates a broader scale of behavioral care into a client’s program. The dual diagnosis approach has been shown to significantly reduce the chance of relapse once treatment has ended.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Individual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
