This is an absolutely wonderful facility for detox programs. The staff is kind and incredibly attentive and the food is amazing. Heartwood provides a very relaxed environment for you to undergo a medically assisted detox taper program that I personally found highly affective. My withdrawal symptoms were minimal and the taper itself wasn’t challenging at all. One of the nurses, Meredith, is absolutely incredible in her attention to your specific needs and feelings. She is very empathetic and understanding in addition to being friendly and easy to talk to casually while receiving your treatment. She is an absolute professional and excels at what she does. In my opinion she made the difference in bumping the review from four stars up to five. This place is great! I brought my son here. Simone the director was AMAZING! She made sure all my questions and worries were addressed. It is very obvious this is more than just a job to her. I was at 815 Buena Vista however have been to 890 in the past. 815 is boys and girls while 890 is just guys but they have a gym and a pool table.
For intake, meaning you're staying for detox which is 5 days or staying 90 days you'll need to go through intake. Show up at 8:30am. Trust me you'll save yourself hours and getting from intake to your bed can take the whole day so showing up early is important.
There are 2 mandatory classes you have to attend not to be kicked out. One in the morning and one in the evening
Set alarms on your phone for everything. Eating, pills, classes and snack time.
Never disrespect your instructor. If he has his way of doing things then follow it even if your way is better. Many of them came from where you are a few years prior so they have no problem getting ghetto with you for not following the rules.
Buy your own pillow and blanket. If you're in detox you'll need 3 blankets and still cold. I wore my jacket to bed.
Utalize the therapists that are there for you. You need to sign up for this individually. Nobody is going to tell you.
If you need a license or ID from DMV get a voucher from your councilor.
Every package you get will be inspected.
For snacks I recommend ordering from Amazon. Then when the snacks show up you need to play dumb. Make up an excuse like this was sent to me. It's ok. Store the snacks in your personal bin. Then when the guy who's working is cool go say you need your bin. Then load up your snacks in your bag then bring them upstairs. Snacks! I recommend hiding these from staff room searches.
You can vape weed. You'll have to sneak it in but I highly recommend it. There are giant windows always open in your room and bathroom. Go to the bathroom unless your roommates are cool otherwise vape from your bed.
Hide your stash. People steal
Get a tripod for your cellphone so you can watch TV or movies
Bring a large coffee or insulated mug larger than 20 ozs. You're going to need it.
You need minimal clothes. Clothes are washed every day and delivered to you.
Bring smokes and some lighters even if you don't smoke. Menthol a plus
You'll have a lot of time to work out your life. Make the most of it

Came here for a dentist appointment. Very busy place with strict policies regarding lateness. Most of the staff were professional and welcoming. The young Asian receptionist on the 5th floor was especially friendly and kind.
Facilities like this often receive a lot of undeserved criticism, but they play an extremely important role in our community and the city. Thank you for serving the comunity.

Despite this place being a small health clinic, the medical staff does step up with their professionalism. Supposedly, this place is meant for those who are looking to solve their addict problem. At the same time though, people can see a physician here for a physical check up. Truly appreciate their professionalism from the personnel returning phone calls when people leave them messages, to the personnel being able to give patients their diagnostic. People can even contact the medical staff via email. There is parking available but, it is limited due to the space being small.

CDRP is a wonderful program full of counselors that really care about your health. But it won't work if you don't care. They have a nice new facility now, I've gone back to visit and it's really nice, clean, welcoming environment. I have long lasting friends I was able to make through their classes and 5 years sober.

This place is so amazing. This was my very first time on a 72 hour hold in a psychiatric facility so of course I was really nervous. The floor staff is amazing and very comforting. There was times where I was emotional and they would give me a hug and give me words of encouragement. The nurses are so sweet and really listened to what I needed. I felt very seen and heard by my social worker and psychiatrist. They really worked with me on a great treatment plan. I felt very happy here. The food was really good and I was very well fed. All the staff here is amazing. I loved the activities they had for us. I got to do drawing, outdoor time, coloring, yoga, etc. I enjoyed my time here very much and if any of the staff are seeing this review I just want to say THANK YOU. You all truly saved my life.

I was hospitalized here after going through Hell at two Kaiser EDs. The staff was wonderful and supportive. The staff helped me to feel comfortable and well cared for. My needs were met and I felt it was a safe place for those who needed a greater amount of care and supervision. The groups were very generalized for the wide range of patients whom were housed there. This is a facility that is meant for people who are at risk of hurting themselves or others and/or need to get regulated on their medications. It is meant to be a stepping stone to get more help after you are no longer a risk. I feel the perception of most of the poor reviews are from people who are fighting against what they need rather those who are seeking help.

The staff at HAART truly saved my life. I went from being on the street with no shoes on my feet to being totally clean with a career, a home, a car and a family. I don't even want to think about what would have happened had I not been given such amazing support from this clinic. They truly care about you. Dr. Martinez is the best doctor to ever exist and he will do anything he can to get you right. He offered to buy me shoes when I was coming to the clinic shoeless. I even named my daughter after my counselor. (who is no longer there, unfortunately) They are 110% judgement free and I always look forward to catching up with everyone. I went from having to go in to dose everyday to only going once a month to get my supply because I worked hard to have clean drug tests and be the person I was before my abusive relationship sent me into a downward spiral. My heart goes out to HAART! Don't listen to the random negative comments. The people that talk crap are only giving you a one-sided version of events, and are probably narcissistic liars who like to blame everyone else for their own short comings. I was so lucky to have found this clinic about two years ago. Where I was introduced to Dr Martinez as well as my counselor Natasha.. So reguarding my overall experience at this clinic was unlike any I had been before. If you have been to other facilities s as I have then you know how impersonal they are kinda feels like you’re being processed like cattle lol. But not here. Here you get real individualized personal treatment plans tailored for your success by people who truly care about your results. Actually you can tell as soon as you enter from their welcoming staff This place is different. Where I found the most help however has been from my counselor Natasha. She has continuously gone out of her way for me in ways I would never to have expected becoming a huge part of my successes and sobriety, there is no way this review can explain how amazing she has been or how lucky I am to have found her and. I want to just say how thankful I am to Natasha Dr Martinez Nurses and staff have always been there in my corner never giving up on me. Dr Martinez it’s another one of those rare doctors that still care and have an excellent bed side manor and went above and beyond the call of duty for me numerous times. Lastly the nurses at the window for dosing are also outstanding really taking the time to get to know you personally making your total experience feel like family in my corner always routing me on! KAISER PERMANENTE is AWESOME and I have never been let down. The STAFF, NURSES, DOCTORS etc. are FABULOUS in every way. If I need something, it isn't a problem, no matter what. I moved out to the Bay Area from Sacramento and needed to find a new clinic by my house. Marin Treatment Center is HANDS DOWN THE VERY BEST!! I’ve never been treated so good and helped out with everything from information about setting up transportation through my insurance so I can easily get to the clinic everyday to referring me to doctors and dentist’s offices since I moved and don’t have a primary care or dentist anymore. Every person who works here actually cares and wants you to move forward with your life and they will help out with whatever they can to make sure you succeed. All the other methadone offices need to copy however Marin Treatment Center operates so they are ran exactly the same and I bet you would have a ton of happy healthy sober people!!!!!

Although, the program didn’t work out for me due to my need for dual diagnosis, I still think it’s a great program. The staff are caring and patient. There are a lot of rules with strict consequences but it’ll help provide the structure and discipline you need. The work program can be a bit overwhelming but it’ll take time to get used to. You wake up at 5am weekdays and 6am on weekends. There is 8 hour shifts/5days a week in which you receive a small gratuity. The food is wonderful and the home is beautiful, well kept and clean. You are required to sign over your EBT benefits to them but they provide plenty of good food and you’ll easily gain healthy weight in no time. Shoutout to Courtney for being so patient and kind and Sabrina as well. The Filipino woman that answers the phone is extremely judgmental and rude. She questioned whether I was “real woman” because my chest is very small. Horrible feeling and it definitely didn’t give me a great start to things at all. They provide transportation to and from work and well as lunches you pack yourself at the house. You’re not allowed to smoke at work but get plenty of free time to smoke at the house. The showers/bathrooms are awesome. Bed are comfy and blankets nice and warm. It’s two people to a room but it’s spacious with plenty of storage. Curfew is 9 and lights out at 10pm. You get coffee in the morning and at work. There are plenty of books and movies to pass the time. Most clients or “beneficiaries” are court ordered. My only hang up is that it isn’t dual diagnosis so there is no mental health services at all and that religion is forced on you from the beginning. You must dress, act, sit and follow all of the captains commands to a T or there will be consequences. If you don’t mind the religious aspect then overall it’s a wonderful program. They have aftercare resources once you graduate as well. Thank you for my time there! I was difficult without the mental health resources but still think very highly of them. They made sure I was taken care of and even provided a jacket when I left. You’ll get plenty of good clothes while you are there that you return if you don’t graduate. Tons of snacks! Only other thing is that they could possible cut down the shifts to 5 hours in order to allow for meetings and classes from more trained professionals without taking away from the limited free time after work. You will be closely monitored but lead well by your peer mentor for the first 30 days. Captain is a bit intense kind of with expectations but is still kind and caring

I’m employed in a job I love, I live alone in my own apartment with my pup, I’m on the right meds and I actually want to take them, I’m not on drugs and I have Cortland House to thank for all of this. After my 4th suicide attempt and loosing my RN license I wound up there. The staff, the structure, my peers, the counseling, the forcing me out of my shell, the hook ups with employers, the freedom to be who I didn’t know I was- these are just a few of the things that I love about this place. It was hard at first but every day it got easier. Who and where and what I am today I attribute to Cortland House. I am so grateful.
