Indiana Center for Recovery is an amazing facility that helped me rediscover myself. Transitions between levels of care are a bit rough but the group facilitators are all excellent and if you stay the course and complete the full treatment you won't regret it.

The staff at ICFR are all very kind and helpful throughout the entire process of being at the recovery center. The facilities are very well maintained and clean. There does seem to be a lack of communication between staff members as there was often confusion when questions were answered. Overall I had a fantastic experience at IFCR and would recommend to anyone seeking treatment.

Place is great. I was in a pretty bad way coming in, and have been for a while, because t feel like I have a new outlook and perspective on sobriety. Staff are caring and helpful. Coursework is current and applicable and the accommodations are comfortable. If you come with an open mind and some willingness you can get what you need.

This program saved my life. I couldn’t be more thankful for the staff and how much they helped keep me comfortable. I was lucky enough to get 45 days of treatment and I would highly recommend this facility. If you want to get sober, call The Haven Detox in West Palm. You’ve got this! 😎

This is my first time in a detox residential treatment center and I can honestly say it was nothing short of epic. From the time Q picked me up to my arrival where I met Shaggy, Mark and some of the other techs, I was treated with the utmost respect and Open arms by everyone. Nick and Michelle run a very professional treatment facility. Ashley and Roni were always available to help me and answer all my questions and Stephanie my therapist was amazing so was my case manager Lauren who helped me with my legal problem which has now been dismissed. Sara, Sue, and all of the group leaders some whose names I forgotten which is my fault where all amazing each and every one of them. I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart and Nick I'd love to come work with you guys so keep me in mind. I've learned that is in giving that we receive the most and from what you've given me I will never cease to give back to others to help them attain sobriety in the way that you have taught and have given it to me. I will continue to pass it on and pay it forward. I want to also thank the amazing Cooks kitchen staff and cleaning personnel for an awesome experience great food and a clean facility. Keeping you and yours in my prayers always!
Furthermore,Jason thanks for that special coin brother I carry it with me always and know I can always call on you guys....Paul Weir

My son is 18 and struggling with a fentanyl addiction. To say the very least it’s been hard and traumatic. My son went to the crossroads detox facility. The 12 step program works miracles and the people that work within the facility have first-hand experience often times with their own addiction recovery. Rose and Bridgette were incredibly impressionable on my son and worked very hard to influence him positively. If I could afford to open a dozen more of these places I would. God bless these people and those struggling with addiction.

A younger family member of mine has gone through here and my experience with this inpatient rehab for youths has been incredibly positive. The leadership team is compassionate, professional, and truly committed to helping the kids succeed. The clinical team is knowledgeable, supportive, and treats each client with dignity and care. The direct care staff go above and beyond every day — they are patient, attentive, and genuinely invested in the well-being and recovery of the youths they work with. You can tell there is a strong sense of teamwork throughout the program, and the environment feels safe, structured, and caring. I’m very grateful for the support and dedication this team provides to both the clients and their families.

As a mental health provider, I feel confident referring patients with substance use challenges to Never Alone. Feedback from former residents consistently highlights the quality of the staff, clinical care, and overall environment. The facility offers a well-rounded program that combines a variety of therapeutic groups with meaningful recreational activities, supporting both recovery and personal growth.
I highly recommend Never Alone, both personally and professionally, to anyone supporting a teen struggling with substance use.

Caring Hands is amazing. Thanks to Shey for staying on hold for a 4 hour phone call with me, so that my loved one was able to get the approval and urgent care they needed. The staff was wonderful and I can not thank you enough for the care you provided.

I have been with Caring Hands Recovery for five years, witnessing countless clients, come in and receive treatment for various challenges, including childhood trauma, substance, abuse, and family issues. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to help individuals, rebuild relationships, and find forgiveness, allowing them to move forward. In addition to providing emotional and therapeutic support the staff here at Caring Hands‘s will assist each client in maintaining any legal issues to ensure that they are meeting their obligations as well as assisting the clients in applying for FMLA and SDI if they are employed. If you are looking for a family like environment we are the recovery home for you

I spent 35 days at ICFR Indy, and the experience was great. They provide an environment that promotes healthy recovery, and I feel my time there was well spent. The staff from therapists to techs all care and are very attentive. If you are from the Indianapolis area and are struggling, give them a call and get in ASAP!

Absolutely amazing place. They take such good care of you and make you feel so comfortable. They keep track of everything medically and psychological, great food, and I made a close freind with a staff member and some people in detox. The best thing is they don't force religion down your throat, which was a really big reason I never checked into rehab or AA. If you need help and are close by this is the place. (They drove two and a half hours to pick me up and take me home )

It's a great recovery program and the groups are very informative. All staff have been very nice and understanding. Love that it doesn't push religious beliefs. A bit more information being provided on what can and cannot be brought to the facility would be much appreciated. Outside of that, no complaints.
Friendly staff, very respectful and they do their job. I have had nothing other than five star service here at Medmark Hayward.

Been coming here for a long, long time Through my recovery I have had many counselors some better than others funny how things happen my husband transferred to Medmark from BAART in Oakland crazy we both ended up on Rich’s case load { R.I.P. RICH another great counselor } so you know we both can’t have the same counselors so of course I got kicked to the curb. Best curb I got kicked to { so to speak. } which is currently Nicole Martinez, the best I’ve ever had , She definitely help me get to where I am now she goes above and beyond helped me in my life so much, I don’t even know what I’m gonna do when we goes our separate ways 😔..I wish I can take her with me. I wish I can give her 20 ⭐️’s but was only given an option of 5 ⭐️.

I was at Recovery team Newton for almost 3 months and my life has completely changed thanks to all the staff members there. I am 95 days sober today and that would not of been possible without all the help for RTN. If anyone else is struggling I would recommend this program to anyone who is tired of living in addiction.

If it wasn't for Eastway I would have been dead by now. I've been with them for 15 years. But their housing program is okay. I also like the fact that there's a pharmacy right there inside. I've been using Eastway's Pharmacy since they opened up. I definitely like that your meds can be delivered to your front door IF you have No Way of getting to the Eastway building. IF you have (a) prescription(s) that needs to be filled the same day you go in for an appointment with a Doctor they will have it filled by the time you're done with your appointment. I will Always recommend Eastway to someone that needs mental health and proper medications. I like the staff that works there. Everyone is very nice to you and they usually have a smile on their face. I try to get a laugh out of one of them and it usually works. As long as Eastway has their doors open I will continue to go there. The staff is wonderful. I'm glad that I have a case manager for longer than two years. My case manager now (and has been for 4 solid years.) She goes above and beyond the call of duty. (She's been there for about 20 years). She helps me go grocery shopping and soon to do laundry up the road. I Pray everyday that I don't lose the case manager I have now. I have pleasant feelings for Eastway. IF you get the chance to be a client at Eastway, remember that getting the right medication can take some time. It took them close to 13 years of trying different medications to get the right regimen that works for ME. I also like the fact that there's a Bus Stop right out front of the building. 😎🤗🤓💜✌️🤙👌💟☮️. I hope you can enjoy the care and staff there. Everyone there is a happy, pleasant person. I LOVE EASTWAY!!! The ONLY way I'll go somewhere else is IF they close their doors. My mother told me about Eastway and when I started the "Journey" there I had a sense of good things to come my way. The rollercoaster of emotions that I was going through finally ended when I became a client at Eastway. At first I didn't like it there because of TWO case managers they Always had a funky attitude towards me and dismissed the fact that I'm there for Mental Health. I'm getting treatment for my Bipolar Disorder. Looking back I'm Glad that I got help from them. IF I didn't make the first appointment to go there, I HIGHLY DOUBT I would be alive right now making this post. Eastway is the one facility that I recommend EVERYONE to go to for Mental Health. In my opinion and experience, Eastway is the place to go get help. Thank you Eastway for your help and this "journey" I'm on with y'all.

I have been at eastway for years excellent! Staff too work with great doctors.and I'm just not saying that just too be saying that it's true I've always been able too get my meds which is one of
the important reason too go to eastway other than the nurse staff and Doctors. If you need help I highly recommend eastway.ps I'm doing very well on my meds and help from my case manager. Remember everything doesn't go your way . But the Doctors know thier job. You just have too do your part also.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does HCSC Cover Drug Rehab?
There was a law passed in 2010 that dramatically changed how addiction treatment and mental health care were covered by insurance. The law, the Affordable Care Act (ACA), requires most long term health insurance plans to cover 10 essential health benefits. The list includes mental health and addiction treatment. The law has some exceptions, so make sure to verify your insurance.
That means your HCSC insurance plan may cover at least some of the costs of drug rehab. You can also get help with co occurring mental health disorders. Every HCSC is different and will have different in network providers and costs you are responsible for. That’s why it’s important to understand the details of your plan before you begin treatment.
Insurance Plans Offered By HCSC
HCSC offers Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) insurance policies in five states. They generally don’t call themselves HCSC but instead use company names like Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois or Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico. Through BCBS, they also have Medicare and Medicaid plans for those who qualify.
Many BCBS insurance plans are Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs). The best part of these plans is that they cost less. You need to use providers that are in the plan’s network, and there are no out of network benefits. You also choose a doctor to be your primary care provider, and that doctor will provide referrals to specialized care like drug rehab.
Some Blue Cross plans are Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs). These plans give you more choice in providers, but they are also more expensive each month. With a PPO you have a broader provider network and you don’t need referrals for specialized care. One thing that’s unique about a PPO is that you may also be able to get out of network coverage, although you’ll pay a higher percentage of the costs.
If you qualify, Medicare and Medicaid plans are also available through each state’s BCBS company. Medicare is generally available to those who are 65 and older, or those who are permanently disabled. Medicaid is free or low cost insurance for lower income residents of the state.
What Inpatient Rehab Does HCSC Cover?
HCSC will focus on covering evidence based treatment that’s in line with your doctor’s recommended care plan. Depending on your insurance, you may need a referral and/or preauthorization to get care. Here are some of the inpatient treatment options that might be covered.
Medical detox allows you to have medical help while substances leave your body, so you can get a fresh start in treatment. You don’t have to be afraid of detox when medical professionals are by your side to help you with withdrawal symptoms.
Residential treatment gives you a distraction free environment to start your recovery. One thing that’s neat about residential treatment is that you often get access to holistic treatment as well as traditional counseling. You’ll also have regular activities, recreation, and outings.
What Outpatient Treatment Does HCSC Cover?
Outpatient treatment lets you partake in your everyday life at home while receiving care so you can maintain contact with family and keep working or attending school. Outpatient programs can be challenging as you might encounter addiction triggers in your daily environment.
Most HCSC plans cover research supported treatments delivered via outpatient addiction programs. Outpatient treatments include different levels of care, such as standard outpatient programs, intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and partial hospitalization programs (PHP). They all rely on clinically effective validated interventions like individual counseling and group therapy sessions. They also offer life and coping skills workshops and education on addiction and recovery.
A PHP is a full time day program where you go home at night and on weekends. These programs typically have a minimum of 20 hours per week of treatment and may last up to 90 days. IOP clients have three hour sessions three to five days per week. IOP and PHP programs are characterized by a more structured approach which can be key to accomplishing your recovery goals.
Medication assisted treatment (MAT) might also be covered as part of outpatient care — combining medications with counseling and behavioral therapies.
It’s best to verify your coverage details with HCSC before initiating an outpatient treatment plan. Remember that you may need a referral or preauthorization for certain outpatient treatments and services. A medical professional’s thorough assessment is the best way to determine the right level of care for your individual needs.
Does HCSC Cover Methadone & Suboxone (MAT)?
Most HCSC plans will cover MAT—including methadone and Suboxone—when it’s considered a medical necessity. MAT is utilized in two phases of the recovery journey: During medical detox and as part of long term treatment.
The medical detox value of MAT lies in its capacity to manage acute physical withdrawal symptoms and reduce initial cravings. Medical professionals employ prescription medications like Suboxone or methadone to ease the physical distress of drug withdrawal. The FDA approved medicines can bind to the same chemical receptors as the drugs individuals abuse which minimizes discomfort and reduces the risk of dangerous complications as you get the drug out of your system. MAT in the medical detox phase is invaluable for individuals battling addiction because it helps them navigate safely—and comfortably—the first steps of their recovery journey which increases the likelihood of successful treatment completion.
During the long term treatment stage MAT helps tackle ongoing obstacles that get in the way of recovery. Medications like buprenorphine or methadone may be prescribed for their beneficial effects in diminishing drug cravings that can persist for many months. Prolonged substance abuse disrupts brain chemistry so prescription drugs with normalizing properties can be very helpful in establishing long term recovery.
The combination of FDA approved medications with counseling and behavioral therapies makes MAT a valuable tool that improves treatment adherence and reduces relapse risk.
Remember to verify coverage before committing to a plan. You may need a referral or reauthorization as plans can differ regarding individual medications and coverage duration.
Does HCSC Cover Other Mental Healthcare?
Mental healthcare is listed in the Affordable Care Act as one of 10 essential health benefits so most plans will cover at least part of the cost.
Mental health can be addressed evidence based ways. Individual and group therapy may be covered as part of your plan as well as psychiatric medication management. Your plan may also cover assessments and evaluations. Depending on your insurance coverage inpatient and outpatient treatment options may be available for mental health.
It’s critical to understand that certain mental health conditions like anxiety or depression along with borderline personality disorder (BPD) and other disorders are associated with an elevated risk of substance abuse. Having a mental health diagnosis along with substance use is known as a co occurring disorder or dual diagnosis. If you have a dual diagnosis an integrative approach to addiction treatment and mental healthcare is fundamental for improving your chance of recovery long term.
It’s important to verify your insurance coverage before getting treatment. Some plans may have limitations or exclusions for certain services so always check with HCSC about the benefits that apply to you.
Does Addiction Treatment Need to Be In Network?
HCSC’s coverage for out of network addiction treatment depends on your plan’s characteristics. PPO plans provide some out of network coverage but you’ll pay much more out of pocket for these services. HMO plans do not cover out of network care. Many Medicare Advantage plans are HMOs, and Medicaid plans are limited to providers that accept the insurance plan in the state.
Using in network providers is strongly recommended as your best choice to keep out of pocket costs low and maximize your insurance’s benefits. Before initiating treatment double check your provider’s network status and other coverage details with HCSC. Out of network care may sometimes be necessary. However it can seriously increase your expenses so it’s best for you to use the network to your advantage.
