RTN has been a great experience for me. The Willing House in Newton is run by two very capable and great house managers and the people who run the groups are amazing. I was hesitant to do aftercare after CSS but I’m glad I did so and came here. Pam is an amazing clinician if you end up with her as yours. Case management has been great as well. I don’t have a negative thing to say about this program. I highly recommend this place to anyone for aftercare after CSS or detox.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) facilitate clients' sustained sobriety through high-level care aligned with their evolving needs. Clients engage in multiple treatment sessions per week, typically receiving between nine and 20 hours of outpatient care weekly. The frequency and intensity of treatment gradually decreases as clients stabilize. Many intensive outpatient rehabs offer a variety of services, including addiction counseling, recovery-focused life skills training, and medication assisted treatment (MAT). Evidence-based complementary therapies are also common.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient programs are designed for clients who are medically stable and not at an elevated risk of relapse, including those who have already completed inpatient care. Outpatient programs typically advance clients' established treatment plans, offering continuing addiction counseling and recovery education. Clients who enter outpatient care immediately following detox may also receive medical and mental health assessments and personalized treatment plans. Most outpatient rehabs provide multiple levels of care to align with clients' unique needs.

12-step icon12-Step

Recovery models based on 12 step programs feature extensive peer coaching and emphasize personal growth as a key to sustained sobriety. Regular attendance at 12 step meetings, which are anonymous, free, and available daily, is expected. The 12 steps of recovery are based on spiritual principles and support participants in addressing the root causes of their disease, accept responsibility for their choices, and accept that which is beyond their control. Self-selected sponsors provide one-one-mentoring.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP), also known as day treatment, allows you to receive rehab-level care while living at home. PHP treatment requires a minimum of 20 hours of treatment each week for an average of 90 days. PHP treatment plans can vary depending on your needs but typically includes relapse prevention, medication management, and evidence-based therapies, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). Most insurance providers fully or partially cover PHP treatment.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Rehab aftercare programs offer customized, wraparound support for clients in the maintenance phase of recovery. Many clients enroll in drug rehab immediately after completing intensive inpatient or residential care. Services encompass outpatient treatment but often extend long beyond the completion of a formal recovery program and typically include a variety of medical, mental health, and social service programs. Peer coaching, relapse prevention, 12 step program induction, and related services are commonly available.

NOTE: I've heard people say good things about the rehab program. My experience here only applies to the mental health day program. --------- I was told the program included a personalized mix of group activities and one-on-one meetings with a psychiatrist and clinician. This was basically a lie. For the whole first week I attended, there was no clinician (with no explanation). There's only one nurse practitioner who handles medication for the entire group. She meets with clients through Zoom one day per week for a few minutes each... unless she has other calls to take, or just doesn't show up, in which case you're out of luck that week. I heard several people complaining that they hadn't been able to see her for multiple weeks, and that this wasn't even the first time this had happened. Some people were saying they literally ran out of medication because of this, since there was no backup plan or alternative. They have many therapeutic methods listed on their website which sound great, but you'll never actually get them. I kept asking about this and getting different excuses. They eventually tried telling me that I missed the "bold lettering and asterisk" indicating that those therapies actually weren't part of my particular program. Nothing was stopping me from just checking their website while I still had them on the call. It turns out there was no "bold lettering and asterisk". It was completely made up. So they promised to "look into it" and get back to me. Of course, I never heard from them again. This program almost entirely consists of extremely simple group activities you'd typically find in a kindergarten class -- activities such as taking turns reading from a book, or picking 3 happy words off a list and drawing them with markers. And they don't even follow their own schedule. Sometimes it ends an hour early for no particular reason. Some days are completely wasted on "recreational activities"; instead of even pretending to do therapy, they'll send you out with 30-40 other people to a random park that has one tiny ball court (so 90% of us are just left standing around doing nothing). Meanwhile, they're making thousands of dollars a day per client. Once you hand over the money, you'll find out you're paying for every single calendar day including weekends when the program doesn't run. It doesn't matter if you're sick and can't make it. It doesn't matter whether the clinician or nurse practitioner are actually there. It doesn't matter if the services they claim to provide aren't really available. There are no refunds, though the admissions department will happily lie to you about that. If you are just seeking mental health treatment, please do not waste your time and money on this program. There are so many other better, cheaper options.
