Inpatient medical detox is often the first step in the recovery journey. During inpatient detox individuals receive close medical observation and care that may include the use of FDA approved medications to ease withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) also helps to normalize brain chemistry and body functions.
