Fidelis Care is a subsidiary of Centene Corporation and they offer a wide range of health insurance plans in New York. They have individual and family plans in partnership with Ambetter through the state’s Insurance Marketplace and offer Medicaid options. They also have Medicare Advantage plans in partnership with Wellcare.
There are 20 community offices throughout the state so that members who have questions can come in and get in person help. There are also regional offices in Buffalo, Albany, Syracuse, New York City, and Rochester.
The company also has a mascot, Fidelisaurus, which they use to promote child and family healthcare. It’s used to make healthcare and health coverage less intimidating to children and their families and to connect health to having fun and being active.

Bradford recovery is just amazing. From the counselors. Medical staff. Bhas. The whole staff. The food is amazing. They care. It is clean. Beautiful scenery. I was just there 8/2 - 8/7. All staff, nurses, mha's etc were awesome in helping me with my condition, the only negative things were more communication needs to be done for your loved ones at home that are not sure how you actually are and what your treatment plans are. Also some of the security officers at the front desk are rude and abrasive to family members trying to bring needed supplies as they're not sure what to do or where to go. Lastly when things are brought in to security it shouldn't take a full day to get it to you. I know they have to go through and inspect but procedures could be sped up

I have never been hospitalized before for mental health treatment and I hope never to be again, but the kindness and compassion the staff shared with me was so inspiring and humbling. The staff who cared for me in Short Term Care were all phenomenal, but Kelly and Jakob(sp?) stood out in particular. I came in to the facility with a horrible attitude after spending a terrible night at Community, and they turned me around. And the food was good! It sounds nutty to say I’m grateful for my time there, but I truly am.

I truly enjoyed my experience at Serenity Mountain Recovery Center. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was peaceful, welcoming, and incredibly therapeutic. The beautiful mountain views, nature walks, fun outings, and amazing women’s meetings created an environment where healing felt possible.
My counseling sessions with Jenna were life-changing. She helped put my mind at ease, introduced me to CBT in a way I could truly apply, and supported my personal growth every step of the way. The groups led by Christina, Ariel, and Jenna on topics like codependency, neuroplasticity, and shadow work were insightful, informative, and helped me better understand myself and my recovery.
The house staff, especially Nicole, Tiffany, and Mariah, made me feel safe, supported, and truly at home. It's everything I imagined it would be. Spiritual growth and personal growth I have received. My counselor Jenna (God bless her) has working with me patiently through my different stages of sobriety. Serenity Mountain has opened so many doors of opportunity for me. The staff Missy, Nichole, Mariah, and Laverne are awesome. I love everyone of them. Thank you Sandy for this gift of Sobriety. The staff were amazing and very patient. As long as you are willing to get better, the experience is great. There were a few hiccups with situations but that tends to happen around lots of people. The men and woman are separate and hardly interact which is also greatly appreciated.

My experience was it was a very decent facility.The staff seems to really care. I had a amazing counselor casssandra weaver that lady believed in me and really had legitimate concern for her work load as well as other people’s case load.she restored my belief in humanity.I don’t talk to her as often as I would like but she always made time when and if I needed it.Being African American and her occasion I Thought I would face racism Total opposite.wherever her and her cat Missy are God bless her soul professionalism Along with the QUEEN WHO RUNS THE PLACE LACY WHO FIGHTS FOR US HER AND DAVE BEHIND THE SCENES.THE FOOD WAS OKAY.CP

On Labor Day, the hardworking staff of Robert Wood are laboring just so the hospital can operate smoothly. Nurse Chaka and Nurse Esther, Brianna are attending or attended
to my mom recently and they are super pleasant, Nurse mahmood and tech jessica attended to my mom the previous day and they have good bedside manners. As I was exiting, I lost my ticket and the parking attendant Basit and Kandji handled things perfectly. I realized long ago that if you treat everyone and anyone with sincerity and respect no matter there background or position you will get far. Thank you. Sorry, if people are getting sick of me and my posts and update, but please google cancer vaccine this is what got me so hyped up. Also, Robin Y the receptionist was friendly on my way out as always.
Update from week ago when Dr. Matilla talked to me about my moms condition. He was polite and and explained to me my moms condition so I could understand it in laymans terms. Some doctors do give off an impression of arrogance, but not this one. With 1 percent of hope god can and will do something for you if you recognize it.
I have been Robert Woods Cheerleader sitting on the sidelines as they get to hard work everyday. I need to thank more of the parking attendants and valet. Next on the to do list. I see them sitting guarding the garage overnight sonetimes when i leave early or get something from my car.
Honorable mention needs to go to Nurse Adam who first attended to my mom in the ER. He is a wonderful person who used to worked in the peace corps but now has a calling as very humble dignified nurse.
Update: This is starting to feel like I am documenting the life of a nurse, tech, or hospital worker as I am here every day to see my mother. Sam is the nurse on duty and she seems nice enough…Robert wood has all kinds of nurses that perform all kinds of duties. Sam is one of the float nurses.
As I go to grab my regular coffee in the refreshment room, I noticed Julie the day shift nurse is still here two hours past shift change…its labor day for gods sake! Laboring two hours past your shift on a holiday and of all days! Then, I bump into Nurse Martha and Nurse Nick as they both make it a point to ask me how my mothers condition is as they genuinely care about the status of her condition.
Update: Tye and Brenda are night shift nurses that did not attend to my mother but they were pleasant conversation in the downtime of the night. They are there when you need them even if it is just for unit questions or to past the time away when I am visiting my mother.
Nurse Sam and tech Maddie are polite and answer all my questions and are kind as can be. They do there normal duties without a hitch as my moms condition is steadily improving.
Staff receptionist Maria greeted me with a pleasant demeanor and gave me another pass when I forgot my keys since I had already thrown away my other away on the way out.
Update: Nurse Arian has got to be one of the most detail oriented and plesant nurses I have met so far. All the RNs are nice, but she really gives off positive and kind vibes moreso than any other nurse or tech.
Update: Nurse Brady is attending to my mother. He is a male nurse and I especially respect male nurses and techs. Brady has been very pleasant asking me if I need anything.
Nurse Deandra, Nurse Joyce and Tech Brenda are doing their duties and as always asking the status of my mothers condition and refilling low stock in the room of supplies.
I thought I would leave my review as is, but I had to mention Nurse Johanna. She spent a good 20 minutes trying to fix the position of my mothers pillow just so my mom would not drool and wake up with a stiff neck.
Nurse Octavia and Nurse Michael were pleasant during the day and so was Nurse Sage and tech Adwoa.
I also wanted to mention the hard work overnight of Nurse Silvia, Nurse Tatiana, and Nurse Deandra when my mother had an episode the other night.
Update: Nurse Andrew and tech Rachel have excellent bedside manners. Tech Aklya finishes her duties right before shift changes.

I wrote a good review for the Jack and Sheryl Morris Cancer Center and I will do the same for floor 5 north in Robert Wood. I want to begin my mentioning this quote from a nurse I overheard while at the hospital. She said, “ I am not everybody or a nobody, but I am somebody”. Only a humble hardworking nurse would say something like that. In contrast to celebreties who love the attention because they are lacking something within their soul. I know the soul of a blue collar worker. I also am not everybody, definitely not a nobody, but I sure as heck am a somebody.
Liz S. always greets me with a smile and always makes me feel welcome when I am visiting my mom for stage 4 lung cancer. The following staff have also been wonderful: Nurse Deandra, Sage,Jem,Paulina, Johana,Tatiana, Carmelli,and nurses Melina, Nick, Eugina, Jeremey,LJ and Sylvia, Mecca, Felicia, Miggie,Thelma and tech Fatima, Radiyah, tech Kiki, tech Nicole, Mya, John, Maddie, and tech Emanuel and Rollinsky and Rhea and tech Shy, and also security
officer Joshua S. and officer Joel and receptionist Robin Y.
On top of it all, I hear that they might have discovered a vaccine that destroys cancer from Moderna and I am just floored. Thank you Robert Wood…and for those that are suffering from cancer or have loved ones going through cancer please google Cancer Vaccine, it will give you alot of hope!
Update: My mom is still trying to get through her infection and Eeg specialist Rahman is hard at work. I also finally found out the department that Dr. Meng who recently did a procedure that helped clear my mothers infection. He is a doctor from pulmonology. I do not want to take away from other patients at the hospital but, what I can say is if you wait and hang in there if you have cancer, I am pretty darn certain the cancer vaccine will fix you. It is in the works already for 10 different cancers but it could be coming in 2027 for mylenoma. I pray to god for all patients at the hospital because it works. I just know and it used to be blind faith but now it is real faith that is visible in the compassion of the hospital and its staff, also the asian guy who rings up my meal from the cafeteria and the guy behind the counter with the delicious ziti.
Update: Officer Jay kindly directed me to 5 north when my mother first stayed here. I could not find it. and Dawn, and Anna are so nice at the front desk. Nurse Lakisha has been asking about my mom all the time making sure she is feeling well and Nurse Colleen has had a rough day and well thats all to common for the life of a nurse, doctor, tech or healthcare worker. Tough work, but not enough recognition.
Update August 31, 2026. Patricia in the light blue scrubs who was brought in from a different floor of the hospital had such a pleasant demeanor while answering phones. As humble as they are, she told me she does not work on 5 North, but I told her it does not matter because all the healthcare workers deserve recognition. In addition, Nurse Katelyn was passing by and I had not had the chance to mention her in this review, but I see her working while I am here and they are always tired and exhausted. I feel like all the staff deserve more respect considering this is probably one of the busiest hospitals in nj.
Update: it is not as chaotic during the night time, so I had the chance to thank Nurse Joyce the first nurse to receive my mom on 5 north.
Update: Nurse practitioner Sarah G. prescribed lopresser in combination with metodrine which seemed to do the trick for my mothers out of whack vitals. Thanks so much Sarah, I was so worried until you prescribed the right meds.

Does Fidelis Care Cover Addiction Treatment?
Fidelis Care plans include all the essential benefits required by the Affordable Care Act. This means that Fidelis Care plans cover addiction and mental health treatment at some level.
However, every plan has different limits and requirements for coverage. It’s essential to check the specifics of your plan before deciding on a treatment center. You may need a referral and/or preauthorization for certain types of treatment.
All insurance plans focus on medically necessary care so it’s important to work with your doctor to get a treatment plan. The treatment plan will help direct you in what type of care to look for and will show what’s medically necessary in your case.
What Insurance Plans Does Fidelis Care Offer?
Fidelis offers a wide range of plans that span across individual and family plans as well as Medicare and Medicaid.
Individual and family plans are offered in partnership with Ambetter and can be purchased on the Insurance Marketplace in New York. These plans will be separated by “medal level”, designated as Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Bronze plans cost less per month but only cover an average of 60% of the cost of care. Gold plans have more expensive premiums but cover 80% of the cost of care. Silver plans are in the middle, balancing the premium and out of pocket costs.
Fidelis Care also has multiple Medicaid plan options. Those who qualify can get regular Medicaid coverage but also have access to Fidelis’s HealthierLife Plan. HealthierLife is a Medicaid plan that supports those with specific behavioral health needs such as addiction or mental health diagnoses.
The company also offers Child Health Plus for children of families that earn too much to qualify for Medicaid. If you qualify for both Medicaid and Medicare you can also look at the Dual Advantage plan from Fidelis Care. Finally, those who need long term care to live independently at home can get Fidelis Care at Home as Managed Long Term Care coverage.
For those who qualify for Medicare Fidelis Care offers a Medicare Advantageplan. An Advantage plan replaces Orginal Medicare and often gives you additional benefits that Original Medicare doesn’t such as vision and dental care. However you also need to use the provider network of the Advantage plan rather than using any Medicare provider in the country.
What Inpatient Addiction Treatment Does Fidelis Care Cover?
Fidelis Care insurance focuses on medically necessary care so the first step in treatment is to get a treatment plan from your doctor. You can then confirm your insurance coverage and your specific plan details.
Inpatient addiction treatment is typically recommended if you have a more severe case of addiction. Sometimes residential treatment is also recommended if you do not have a stable living environment. Your doctor will do an assessment to decide if this type of care is appropriate for your needs. You may also preauthorization from your insurance plan before you begin.
During inpatient or residential treatment you stay at the treatment center to complete the treatment plan. Depending on what substances you use you may need medical detox before the main treatment phase.
Treatment involves group and individual therapy as well as holistic treatment and recreation. The average length of stay is usually around 30 days but can be as long as 90 days or more.
What Outpatient Rehab Does Fidelis Care Cover?
Outpatient care is less intensive than residential treatment but you’ll still want to check with your insurance company to confirm coverage and get preauthorization if needed.
There are multiple types of outpatient care including partial hospitalization programs (PHPs) and intensive outpatient (IOPs) as well as general outpatient care. A PHP is a full day program in many cases and delivers similar services as inpatient or residential rehab except you are home at night. An IOP is more flexible and generally has three hour sessions a few days per week. You can often choose to have morning or evening sessions to make it easier to manage work and school schedules.
Finally general outpatient care only meets one or two hours a week. Sometimes a period of aftercare is recommended following the completion of a rehab period. Aftercare helps support your new habits and can also connect you to social services that you need to stay stable.
Does Fidelis Care Cover Methadone & Suboxone (MAT)?
Medication assisted treatment (MAT) often includes the use of drugs like methadone and suboxone which are FDA approved to treat opioid use disorders. There are also medications that can help with alcohol use.
These medications can be used during the initial detox period that may precede a residential stay for addiction treatment. They can also be used as a long term treatment to help patients stay stable and avoid relapse.
Methadone and suboxone are long acting opioid agonists which means they influence the same receptors as opioids but they don’t deliver a high. Naltrexone and Vivitrol can help control alcohol use disorder during treatment.
Does Fidelis Care Cover Other Mental Healthcare?
As mentioned earlier Fidelis Care plans provide at least some treatment for mental health conditions but it’s important to check your plan details to find out any limits or requirements.
Some treatment possibilities for mental health conditions include crisis support and behavioral therapy. These can help you if you struggle with depression or anxiety. Personality disorders and PTSD and other mental health diagnoses can also be treated.
Co occurring mental health disorders are common with addiction and it’s important to treat both the mental health condition and addiction at the same time to facilitate a long term recovery.
If you have a co occurring disorder — which is also known as a dual diagnosis — your treatment plan will take that into account and you will need to look for integrated mental health and addiction treatment. Fortunately many treatment centers specialize in this kind of care.
How Long Will Fidelis Care Cover Rehab?
Your Fidelis Care insurance plan may have limitations or requirements that affect the length of rehab. In most cases though your length of rehab is based on your medical needs.
Your doctor and the treatment center determine how long you need to be in a rehab program. A PHP or residential treatment can last between 30 and 90 days. Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) typically last between six weeks and three months. General outpatient programs are longer because they help you maintain your new habits and provide ongoing support.
Can I Travel Out of State For Treatment With Fidelis Care?
Whether you can travel out of state depends on your exact insurance plan with Fidelis Care.
If you have Medicaid you’ll be limited to the state you live in. Most other insurance plans require you to stay within a specific provider network unless you need emergency care.
Some Fidelis Care plans do include coverage for treatment outside the network but you’ll end up paying a lot more in deductible and copayment costs. Generally staying in your designated medical network ensures the most coverage and the lowest costs and your network will focus on your local area.
How to Verify Coverage With Fidelis Care
If you need to verify your coverage with Fidelis Care the best way to do so is to contact customer service by phone or by logging into your member account online.
Sometimes, you may have the opportunity to ask your treatment center if they accept your insurance plan. You can verify your coverage this way if you use the exact plan name under Fidelis Care. Not all plans offer the same coverage so even if your treatment center accepts Fidelis Care your plan may not have the coverage you need.
