Soberman’s Estate was everything I needed for my recovery. The staff, the program, physical activity and culinary experience were top notch and essential. The program is well designed and worked better than I expected. The staff is remarkable - professional, considerate and genuinely caring. My time there and being removed from alcohol for five weeks was everything I needed to remove my craving for alcohol. Soberman has changed my life in ways I never could have imagined. I feel confident, secure and grateful for my new life. I have reconnected with my family and friends. Thank you Soberman.

This place is not your ordinary rehab facility. They go beyond your standard rehabilitation and literally "Elevate" your life to a new level you didn't think was ever possible before. The program is structured in a way that you desire to learn more and give more into the healing process. If you take the necessary steps and put your heart into the program you will come out with a newfound appreciation for life and all that surrounds you. Please take this step, as my husband did, to embrace your life and get the healing you deserve and owe yourself.

I think this is a wonderful rehab, the facilities are beautiful, the food is amazing (I have never even had food this good at a restaurant), and above all they have really helped my husband. Obviously anyone that first goes to rehab isn’t happy with their situation but in just two short months he was a changed person. The work they have them do on themselves got him to finally see why drugs and alcohol are no way of life. He’s finally sober and actually enjoying it! This rehab helped him so much he actually chose to stay LONGER, and I am for once excited for what the future can bring.

My experience here throughout my last few months has completely changed my whole outlook on life. Before I got here I thought my life was going towards the end. My body was failing and mental state was terrible. Every part of the program touches on every aspect of the addicts life. Now that I have finished the program and started living daily life with all of the gains I got throughout the program, failure isn’t an option. I know I can truly be happy sober now. I finally gained back the love and support from my life partner and best friend I always knew was still there. My mom also believes in me again which is so important to me. The possibilities and happiness are endless now. Thank you Elevate.

My name is Colin and I’m an alcoholic and needed to find recovery for a better state of lifestyle and health. Design for Change provided a structured environment and reliable access needed for recovery. The routine, resources, and accountability offered a stable foundation for developing healthier habits and clearer direction. Overall, my experience was consistent with what the program aims to provide. I was able to focus on my goals, maintain sobriety, and utilize the structure as a stepping stone for my continued personal growth. As of November 18, 2025 I have maintained my recovery and am over a year sober from alcohol. Design for Change saved my life.

This has been an incredible journey from start to finish. I came in broken and in need of help. This is more than just rehab, it's truly life changing with great structure, compassionate staff, laughter, and healing. I'm forever grateful to the owner, the lead counselor, and the rest of the staff for helping me find myself and helping me find a life free of pain, depression, and uncontrollable addiction and alcoholism.

Sadly, Windmill now is allowing previous employees to post reviews. This troubles me. My initial review was heartfelt and honest. It upsets me that Windmill is doing this. Windmill used to be better than this. Perhaps it has to do with the new ownership.

I had the most amazing experience of my life! WWR saved my life in many ways. I tackled multiple addictions and took advantage of every service they offer (which there are many!). The counselors and recovery advocates are incredible. While I now have the tools to go back to the real world, I will miss this place in my soul. I would recommend WWR to anyone needing to face addiction or any other mental challenge.

Windmill is set amongst a beautiful scenery of trees and deers, that enables peace of mind and a healing quietness for the spirit. This serene atmosphere grows and shines in the people living there and the ones there providing us support through their smiles and patient caring for each other. I was able to learn again what it felt like to be human, sane, and a part of something. Fellowship being the heart of the strength built, I walked away with a community that stands as an army ready to fight together. You will be empowered. It works if you work it. As the windmill keeps turning, so shall we!

Really enjoyed my stay, i completed CPR a few months ago and it was difficult being away from my home in NC but it turned out to be the best thing that happened to me. I now have 6 months of sobriety and I'm enjoying being back with my family and living this new way of life. My favorite part about being here was the staff, community and the great living near the beach. Much love CPR.

This place goes above and beyond for its clients. Let’s just say I’ve been there more than once on my road to recovery. The staff have become my second family. They have an alumni person that’s reaches out to clients to follow up after treatment and I call her my guardian angel. This place saved my life more than once and I believe it could do the same for you or your loved one. Highly recommend!

This was my first time ever at a detox and what I could actually say is that this is the best detox. I’ve experienced lots of amazing food and the staff is great TJ Kathy Jen and Jonathan were my favorite out of the whole crew not saying that the rest of them weren’t respectful, but they were always accommodating me on my needs and checking up on me and making sure that I felt comfortable, especially with it being my first time ever at a detox treatment I definitely recommend this spot to people who are trying to get off drugs. I have lots of freedom. I’m able to have my tablet. They have amazing food. They’re super nice. They also give the shakes because I’m skinny. And it’s very well needed because I needed to gain weight and honestly, I’ve been here for four days and I’ve already gained 8 pounds

Yo this place has helped me tremendously when I was down and out. I successfully completed my detox and they assisted me into another facility for more treatment and made me feel as if I was taken care of and they would continue to support me although I'm leaving. I definitely recommend and will come back here specifically if I ever do need some more assistance with my substance treatments. #ughhh #hofrome #illughhhminati #igot

Beachway Therapy Center supported someone dear to me as they navigated personal challenges with genuine care and patience. The staff made them feel safe and supported from the start. I’m deeply grateful for the kindness and professionalism at Beachway.
I can’t say enough about how incredible The Plymouth House is. I spent 6 days in detox and 24 days in the Residential program, and the entire experience exceeded every expectation I had.
Having a full detox program with real clinicians on site was a game changer for me. The staff paid close attention to each guest’s needs, mine included, and that level of care truly made all the difference. From leadership to support staff, everyone was approachable, supportive, and fully present. They always made time when I needed it, which meant a lot during such a tough chapter of my life.
The team approach, Case Management, a Therapist, and a 12-Step resource dedicated specifically to me had a huge impact. Their focus on the Little Big Book really grounded the whole program and helped me find direction again.
The campus is beautiful, peaceful, and spacious, and the food… unbelievable. Every meal felt thoughtful and genuinely nourishing.
Today I’m 50 days sober, with a sponsor and a renewed sense of control and hope. My life is becoming manageable again thanks to The Plymouth House. I am truly grateful for what this place gave me.
I HIGHLY recommend this program to anyone seeking help—whether it’s your first time or not. If you’re willing to make a change, The Plymouth House will absolutely change your life.

It’s very hard for me to put into words the amount of appreciation i have towards the Plymouth House.Ive struggled with addiction for 30 plus years and unfortunately been in many treatment centers. It wasn’t until i arrived and went through the process here that i finally got it.The Plymouth house has a unique way of driving the message home. Its with how they expose the spiritual side of things as well as working the the 12 steps. Then you add into the mix of the faculty…From top to bottom the dedication they have with the guest is unmatchable..Its doesn’t take long to realize how much they really do care.

Back2Basics saved my life and helped me to become my old self again.
When I showed up I was scared, sad, and going through withdrawals. The staff were so understanding and empathetic and taught me coping strategies to regulate myself and get through the hard part while reassuring me that I was right where I needed to be.
I was referred to Back2Basics by a family friend who had a loved one go through the program and they informed me of its great success and spoke very highly of it; furthermore I spoke with a lot of the staff on the phone before arriving, many of whom have been through the Back2Basics program and have rebuilt their lives thanks to its efficacy.
Back2Basics is not like other treatment programs, it consists of a holistic treatment plan to heal clients emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
One aspect of Back2Basics I did not foresee but found incredibly beneficial was its focus on restructuring my preoccupation with short-term reward by separating me from my phone and limiting access to technology. Because of this, I had to relearn how to sit with my own thoughts without distraction, and how to pass the time in healthy and engaging ways (reading books, playing guitar, socializing with other clients, playing games, meditating, working out).
With a large kitchen and fresh groceries every week, us clients were able to prepare meals with fresh protein and produce, which meant proper nutrition for a healthy body. Ian, Back2Basics' own culinary specialist, would come to the property multiple times a week to cook great dinners with us and give us nutrition and fitness advice. Back2Basics also brought us to the gym every day so we could improve our fitness and undo the damage of addiction. I left the program leaner, stronger, and healthier.
One of the highlights of Back2Basics was our weekends. With two knowledgeable outdoor guides, Andrew and Colin, we spent every weekend out in nature: hiking, swimming, camping, and exploring. Discovering all the beauty of Arizona while bonding with the other clients was pivotal to my recovery, and Back2Basics prepares you for all this with excellent equipment that you get to keep upon program completion.
When we weren't at the gym or on outdoor adventures, the week was structured with plenty of therapy and groups to focus on recovery and healing. HUGE shoutout to Bethany, Natalie, and Keelyn, our program clinicians, who showed up everyday to help us clients heal and resolve our trauma. I worked with Bethany specifically doing one-on-one therapy; she helped me focus on and heal trauma I've been struggling with for decades and met me with a level of empathy and compassion that was crucial for me in my recovery. Natalie led fantastic groups that allowed me and other clients to discuss our struggles with one another and work together on solutions. Keelyn led mindfulness exercises to help us develop keen awareness of our bodies and our needs while giving excellent clinical perspectives and solutions. Thanks to all of their expertise I was able to walk away from the program with more self-assuredness, peace, and confidence that I could handle life's stresses on my own out in the real world.
Between all these activities our house managers, Cade, Reed, Ian, Dave, Brady, and Manny, connected with us and helped us navigate the day-to-day struggles by providing excellent leadership and friendship. The staff at Back2Basics made me feel truly cared for, and I am so grateful that I got to be surrounded by such kind and authentic people during my stay.
Roy, the founder of Back2Basics, is an all-around stand up human. He always checked on us guys, and I always felt like he was genuinely interested in each and every one of our recoveries. Special thanks also to Suzie for her friendly demeanor and conversation while on-site, it was always nice chatting with you while we were all cooking in the kitchen.
I would enthusiastically recommend this program to anyone struggling with addiction, and have made connections that have changed me fundamentally and made my life better. Thank you!

As a nurse and professional in the behavioral health field, I have been deeply impressed by the work being done at Back 2 Basics. The program provides young men with a rare combination of opportunities—healing, practical life skills, and the stability that is often missing in their lives.
What stands out most is the balance between clinical care and real-world development. Back 2 Basics doesn’t just focus on treatment—it empowers clients to learn accountability, independence, and the skills they’ll need to succeed long after they leave the program. Watching men grow in confidence as they take ownership of their recovery and build a foundation for the future is incredibly inspiring.
For families and professionals alike, it’s reassuring to know there is a program that treats people with dignity, structure, and compassion. Back 2 Basics is giving young men more than recovery—it’s giving them the tools and support to rebuild their lives.

As someone who works daily with men struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders, I refer clients to Back2Basics with full confidence. This program isn’t just another treatment center—it’s a transformational environment rooted in real clinical expertise, integrity, and real-life skill building.
From the start, Back2Basics impresses with its balance of evidence-based clinical care and holistic healing. Their residential program combines individual therapy, group work, dual diagnosis support, and trauma-informed care—all delivered by a deeply capable team led by seasoned clinical leadership. Their emphasis on authentic, non-institutional connection ensures clients feel seen and heard.
One of the most unique strengths of Back2Basics is their integration of outdoor adventure and real-world life skills—hiking, backpacking, cooking, budgeting, vocational guidance. These components aren’t optional add-ons; they are central to helping young men not just stay sober but build resilience, confidence, and self-reliance.
Family involvement is another area where Back2Basics excels. As a referrer, I’ve seen how keeping loved ones educated, engaged, and part of the recovery journey reduces anxiety for everyone involved, helps with accountability, and contributes to sustained outcomes.
Finally, the commitment to continuity—transitioning into sober living, aftercare, relapse prevention—is vital. Too many programs fall off at discharge; Back2Basics makes sure the gains made during treatment translate into daily life.
In short: as a professional who refers clients, I consider Back2Basics to be a top choice for young men who need more than just detox or short-term support. They deliver a full rehabilitation journey designed for lasting change. 5 stars without hesitation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Health Net Cover Addiction Treatment?
In 2010 the Affordable Care Act was passed. Under this law most insurance plans were required to cover alcohol and substance use disorder treatment and mental health care. It is important for individuals to understand their benefits plan and verify coverage before starting any type of treatment.
Insurance plans generally require that any treatment be deemed medically necessary for benefits coverage. In order to determine medical necessity you should contact your primary care provider for assessment and work closely with them to develop a treatment plan to meet your unique recovery needs.
What Are Health Net Plans?
Health Net offers multiple types of insurance in California. They also offer employer plans in Oregon. Because plans differ greatly from one to another, it is important to understand your benefits summary and choose a plan that suits your needs.
Individual and family plans are available on the California insurance marketplace, Covered California. There are plans available for a variety of income levels. You’ll find either health maintenance organization (HMO) or preferred provider organization (PPO) plans. An HMO is less expensive monthly but requires you to use in network providers and have a primary doctor that gives you referrals to specialists. A PPO is more expensive but doesn’t require referrals and has out of network care available — although you’ll pay far more out of pocket.
Wellcare by HealthNet offers individuals Medicare Advantage plans. These plans include the same benefits as Original Medicare and they will usually have a prescription benefit. Advantage plans may also offer vision and dental coverage as well as free fitness memberships and other perks. The HealthNet Advantage plan has added benefits such as a 24 hour nurse phone line where members can receive medical advice and have their questions answered by qualified medical professionals.
With Original Medicare you can get care at any participating Medicare provider or Medicare participating facility in the United States. With Medicare Advantage you may be required to see providers or seek care with in network providers only unless it’s an emergency. You may also need referrals for specialist care and preauthorization for certain kinds of treatment.
HealthNet offers low or no cost insurance coverage for eligible people in California under the Medi Cal program. You may qualify for Medi Cal based on your income or age as well as disabilities or pregnancy or being a caregiver. Individuals do not have to be documented residents to qualify. Plans and benefits differ but most include medical and dental as well as vision coverage. Enrollment can be done in a number of ways: in person at local DHCS offices or on the state website CoveredCa.com. You can also apply by phone or by mailing in an enrollment form.
What Inpatient Addiction Treatment Does Health Net Cover?
Most Health Net Plans cover inpatient addiction treatment but it is important to verify coverage before beginning treatment. In most cases a determination of medical necessity is required for these services to be covered.
Individuals should work with their primary care providers to create a treatment plan. One way to determine the appropriate course of treatment is to have an American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) assessment completed. Factors such as a patient’s needs and obstacles and liabilities along with strengths and assets and support structure are considered when developing an appropriate treatment plan.
For those who meet the criteria for inpatient alcohol and substance use disorder treatment the first step in their recovery journey may be medical detox.
Medical detox can take place in an inpatient hospital or residential treatment facility. This can be especially critical for those with severe addiction especially for alcohol or opiates. Medical detox is helpful for barbiturates and certain stimulants as well. Under 24/7 medical supervision individuals receive FDA approved medications and other treatment to help ease the symptoms of withdrawal and stabilize body functions to help normalize brain chemistry. These medications could include naltrexone and methadone as well as buprenorphine and acamprosate or disulfiram. On average, medical detox lasts between 5 and 14 days but for some it may take weeks. After completing medical detox, most individuals then go to residential or inpatient rehab.
Inpatient or residential rehab involves 24/7 structured care for those in the earliest stages of recovery. Treatment plans often include individual and group therapy using a variety of modalities such as cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing as well as Eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR).
You may also receive holistic treatments including meditation and yoga along with nutritional counseling. Some programs offer experiential therapy and recreational therapy which may include art and music therapy and animal therapy as well as exercise. Most programs last anywhere from 30 to 90 days — and 90 day treatment programs have the highest success rates.
What Outpatient Rehab Does Health Net Cover?
Health Net covers outpatient rehab when medically necessary. It is important to understand your plan benefits before starting any programs to ensure coverage.
Outpatient treatment varies from intensive and highly structured programs to general outpatient treatment.
Partial hospitalization programs (PHP) are best for people who are at the beginning of their recovery journey. Individuals in these programs may or may not have participated in inpatient treatment. One advantage to a PHP is that you get to go home each night.
However, there is still a significant time commitment, on average 20 hours per week of programming. Another advantage to PHP is that it offers participants consistent access to peer and recovery support, including individual and group counseling, with the end goal of relapse prevention.
A PHP is not for everyone and it is critical that you work with your primary care provider to assess which options are best for your unique circumstances.
An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) continues to offer highly structured treatment for those with alcohol and substance use disorder who do not require medical detox and have mild to moderate addiction or have finished a more intensive program.
You participate in IOP for an average of 9 to 12 hours per week with most programs lasting 90 days. Group therapy is an integral part of IOP with the goal of preventing relapse through behavioral change and the development of positive coping strategies along with repairing and building of support systems and addressing psychosocial needs such as employment and housing issues.
IOPs also include individual therapy. You work with counselors and addiction specialists to address your emotional and psychological needs and learn to develop healthy coping mechanisms to aid in your recovery. Counselors and addiction specialists use a variety of approaches to meet their clients’ unique needs. This includes but is not limited to the use of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) as well as motivational interviewing and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR).
Aftercare is the support you receive after you finish formal treatment. Recognizing that relapse prevention and recovery is a lifelong process these programs provide continued resources for those with alcohol and substance use disorder. This may include continued individual and group therapy along with peer support and education. You may also get resources that help with employment and housing as well as other psychosocial needs.
Does Health Net Cover Methadone & Suboxone (MAT)?
Medication assisted treatment (MAT) may be a covered service with HealthNet. A determination of medical necessity is often required so it is important to understand your insurance requirements before starting treatment.
MAT has been proven to decrease relapse and lessen withdrawal symptoms and cravings while stabilizing brain chemistry and body functions. This reduces the risk of drug overdose death and the risk of infectious disease transmission such as hepatitis and HIV/AIDS.
MAT uses FDA approved medications such as methadone and suboxone along with buprenorphine and naltrexone prescribed by qualified medical professionals to help in the early stages of detox and recovery. However, for some, medication assisted treatment can be used for weeks or months or even years, depending on each person’s unique recovery needs.
Does Health Net Cover Other Mental Healthcare?
Under the ACA mental healthcare is considered an essential health benefit and should be covered by most Health Net plans. However, this can depend on the type of plan and should be verified before starting any treatment program to ensure coverage.
For many with addiction there is also a co occuring mental health condition such as depression or anxiety. You might also have PTSD or bi-polar disorder alongside addiction. Comprehensive treatment recognizes that successful recovery not only means sobriety but that underlying conditions are also addressed. For individuals with co occurring conditions integrated care is essential to address mental health and substance use disorder at the same time.
Mental health care can include both inpatient and outpatient care which may include therapy and medication management along with other evidence based practices.
How Long Will Health Net Cover Rehab?
The amount of time Health Net will cover rehab depends on a number of factors. This includes determination of medical necessity and proper assessment and treatment plan development. This is why it is crucial that you work with your primary care provider to assess your recovery needs. One way to do this is to complete the ASAM assessment which helps to determine the level of care that is appropriate.
Most residential treatment programs last anywhere from 30 to 90 days and evidence shows the best outcomes with 90 day programming. Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) are similar to residential treatment programs in that most last 90 days or more. It is critical to remember that every person has unique needs and that recovery must truly be worked one day at a time.
Can I Travel Out of State For Treatment With Health Net?
Because Health Net offers many plan options it is important to understand what type of plan you have.
In some cases where the plan is an individual or family PPO, out of network coverage is allowed within the state of California only. For those with a Medicare Advantage HMO or PPO the rules can be different. HMOs typically do not allow out of network coverage. For Medi Cal members there is no out of state coverage. This could be waived during an emergency but this must be verified with each plan.
The best course of action would be to verify coverage with your benefit plan before obtaining any care out of state. You can maximize your insurance benefits and save money by choosing an in network provider which will likely be in California.
How to Verify Coverage With Health Net
There are a number of ways to verify coverage with Health Net. One way to do this is by calling the customer service center; most times this number is located on the back of your ID card. Health Net also has an online site where you can verify benefits and find a provider along with health related education.
In some cases, the treatment center or healthcare facility can help verify benefits coverage. When doing this it is important to have all of the plan information including the plan name as well as your ID number and group information in order to get the correct information.
