About Summer House Detox Center

We’ll get into that in a second, but first let’s mention their amenities. You’ll be receiving medical supervision 24 hours a day and have access to a large, comfortable bedroom and luxurious private baths. They have a four-star chef on staff and provide full course meals, including fruits, salads and desserts in addition to your meals. They also have wi-fi and a flatscreen TV in every bedroom. You’ll also take part in movie nights.

What really impressed me almost immediately are the amenities at this center. They have a jacuzzi for hydrotherapy, a fitness center, yoga classes, tai-chi classes, acupuncture, massage treatments, and an overall peaceful and private environment.

Their therapy services offer a wide range as well. Aside from the expected individual therapy and group therapy, you’ll also find more holistic services such as art therapy. Individual therapy is a great way to dig deeper into your past and learn ways that certain things have influenced your negative habits. With the help of a professional therapist, you’ll learn coping skills, figure out how to accurately identify triggers, and deal with any trauma that may have come from your past.

In group therapy, you’ll meet with a group who can relate to your situation and you’ll be able to learn from their experiences while they in turn learn from yours. Art therapy will give you a healthy way to express your emotions and calm you at the same time.

Accepted Insurance

Summer House Detox Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Rehab aftercare programs are a collection of highly individualized services designed to promote long-term recovery. These services evolve as your needs change. Case managers and recovery teams typically begin formulating the rehab aftercare service plan early in the recovery process to facilitate your reintegration back into the home, workplace, and community.

12-step icon12-Step

12 step programs support recovery through emotional, psychological, and spiritual development to address the root causes of addiction. These programs are peer directed, with participants regularly attending 12 step meetings, which are anonymous, free, and accessible day and night, year-round. Recovery is based on "working the steps" to understand the source of addiction, take accountability for one's life choices, and relinquish control for that which cannot be changed. Age-specific, gender-separate, and other specialized programs are widely available.

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

A sober living home in Florida often serves as a transitional residence for individuals coming out of inpatient rehab. This helps those in recovery avoid isolation that can sometimes happen after they return home from treatment. It offers a supportive environment where they can practice skills learned in rehab. Offering a combination of structure and freedom, men's or women's sober living is a good stepping stone to independent life in recovery.

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

If a person with a substance use disorder continually denies their problem or refuses to get treatment, a drug intervention in Florida may be necessary. Intervention services can help mediate the intervention by providing an addiction expert. This professional can de-escalate situations and facilitate a healthier discussion between the individual and their loved ones. Specialists can also help families handle issues they don't know how to navigate on their own.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image

LGBTQ Program

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Therapists who apply cognitive behavioral therapy in Florida believe patient thoughts and behaviors are closely linked. They use this treatment method to help clients change their thought patterns so they can also change behaviors and break free from substance abuse.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Florida consists of individual therapy and group instruction. This structured program is a form of psychotherapy that incorporates the development of skills for managing emotions and relationships.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

As a short term therapeutic method, motivational interviewing in Florida requires only a couple of sessions. During these sessions, you'll have the opportunity to talk about your circumstances and any discrepancies between your current situation and future goals. You'll then decide for yourself what changes you want to make.

Trauma therapy helps you work through the psychological impact that traumatic events have had on your life. Your therapist helps you identify the physical, emotional, and mental triggers and develop coping mechanisms. This helps rebuild a sense of safety and trust in yourself and others.

During couples therapy in Florida, your therapist will take steps to get to know you, help you identify feelings, explore the past, develop solutions, and help you learn skills to manage relationship challenges. This process will allow you to work through conflict and strengthen your relationship.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Types of creative arts therapy in Florida include playing music, writing poetry, journaling, dancing, painting, and sculpting. These expressive activities can help you process emotions and work through challenges with the guidance of a creative arts therapist.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was here 2 times many years ago, and now I’ve been sober for 14 years! The key, though, was that I had to want it for myself. There’s a reason this site has so many positive reviews—no place is perfect, but this one worked for me. To the parents leaving negative ... Read More

As someone who used to work at this facility, this place has always held a special place in my heart so when the unfortunate time came that I actually needed detox for myself, there was no other place I'd rather go. Between the super helpful and friendly staff, the amazing food, the comfortable and clean rooms, groups, meetings and great amenities, there is no better place.

Response from the owner
Thanks Danny, it’s this kind of sentiment that we want patients to have during and after the detox process

admission staff was very thorough and answered all our question. The tech and nursing staff were kind and compassionate about their clients. Everyone knew my name immediately. They'd come I and check on us every few hours, if we were sleeping they would knock on the door and let us know it was time to eat. The staff enforced the rules to keep everyone safe. The atmosphere was super laid back and chill. They didn't force you to do anything like meetings or meditation and if you wanted to sleep all day you could. You have limited access to your cell phone but you can bring in your laptop which is nice so you can still have communication with your friends and family through internet dm's. When detoxing they want to make sure you're as comfortable as possible and did I mention the 3 meals a day are fire and there are endless snacks whenever you want. You can lay in the sun on a lounger or even go fishing. Highly recommend this place for a calm, safe to detox.

Response from the owner
Thank you Sara, this is how we want each patient that chooses Summer to leave feeling.

Can’t say enough good things about this place but i’ll try. The minute you walk in you are welcome with your check in by someone you makes tou feel super comfortable, even though you may not be. The entire staff have now become friends. The rooms are comfy and you have a choice to share a room or grab your own. I opted for my own because it wasn’t much more $. The treatment is rad because the building is on the water so the back is super relaxing. The food is incredible. Amazing chef who cooks 3 times a day (breakfast was my fave) (also chefs kitchen with all the snacks 24-7 and all the amenities you need. Most importantly they have therapy meetings each day that are optimal, accupinture and yoga classes as well. If I haven’t convinced you to pick here if you want to heal…. I don’t know what to say! I love Summer House the staff and I don’t think i’ll ever have to see them again 😜. They give you the tools to make it.

I do not normally leave reviews, however I feel it's necessary for this place. I literally have been to over 10 detox facilities from NJ to Fla....Summer House is by far the BEST facility I've been to. The techs are professional, friendly and on point...the Medical team (especially. EDDIE) are caring ,and also on point. I felt not one bit of uncomfort during my withdrawal period which is unheard of for me. The food is all homemade prepared on premises and a variety which suits any persons preference. The cleaning staff works hard daily to keep the place clean and sanitized. I can't think of one thing that was unprofessional or uncomfortable while being there...I was sad to leave and will miss the staff and peers I met very much. Thank you Summer House for saving my soul....🙏
