I am a firm believer in things happen for a reason. I had unfortunately relapsed (alcohol) about 45 days ago. I tried to get into a detox center that had a tech that I was familiar with. I had just finished drinking copious amounts of vodka over a 10 day binge. That center said they could get me in the next morning. I didn’t have the luxury of waiting so I went to the ER, stayed two nights there. The treatment center kept pushing it to the next day saying that a bed hasn’t opened due to other patients missing flights and other issues. My wife called around to a few places and unfortunately they didn’t take my Insurance. This actually ended up being very fortunate for me. One of the treatment centers called Broward Retreat. Paul Apanowicz called me shortly after and told me he was ready for me that day. I just got home from a 30 day stay at Broward Retreat. I am so thankful that the other place I considered didn’t have a bed for me. I truly believe through the wonderful techs, insightful therapists, caring nurses, and even a few patients, that Retreat of Broward was the exact place I needed to be. Friendly, caring staff from top to bottom. These people truly do care. I found the therapy, insights, tools I need to assist me in my recovery journey. I am confident and well equipped to start the rest of my life living sober. They do a great job of keeping food, drinks, and snacks stocked. My only complaint would be some of the meals were hit or miss. The outings were nice to get a little change of scenery and a bite to eat at different restaurants. Went to Pompano Pier a few times for a nice reset and recharge. The ocean has always given me peace and comfort. I’ll probably forget a few names, but what an amazing caring staff all around. Mike Stone (shift managing tech) and I became friends early in recovery there. He’s got a big heart and so much knowledge and inspirations to share. All five therapists were so incredibly helpful. Suzanne, Jake, Denise, Keisha, and Lisa. Michelle was always there in the mornings with great energy and a friendly smile. Q, Ty, Mike, Ida, Tia, Juan, the over night crew. I can’t say enough good things about these wonderful people. Shannon was always tirelessly helping everyone get what they needed. A special thank you to Paul for picking up the phone and reaching out! I don’t do reviews very often, and I usually think they are just fake reviews. I just felt compelled to share my experience there at Retreat of Broward. If you’re unsure, need help, need detox, Retreat of Broward is a great start to your recovery. I spent 7 weeks in the facility working on recovery. The most important thing they accomplished was to equip me with the tools necessary to facilitate my recovery going forward. I left with a profound knowledge of what I should do , with the implementation left in my hands. The facility was clean and there was ample food available. I was able to watch others grow in their recovery and change; making lifelong friends during my time there.The staff did an excellent job during both group and individual sessions of therapy. The program is very structured with rules in place to give everyone the maximum chance of success. I highly recommend this establishment.

I Loved it there especially Ms. Lind & Ms. Joanne, my therapist they was very helpful ,anyhow I graduated successful , a group of us left to proceed with our mission to pursue our future and goals and doing awsome Sincerely Loytia S. Weekly massage, weekly acupuncture, weekly chiropractic. I wasn't expecting any of that going into an outpatient program. The physical side of recovery gets ignored a lot, and it shouldn't be. My body had been through a lot and having those services available throughout the week, not as a one-time thing, actually helped.

The amount of love this treatment center showed me truly saved my life. Before I went to there detox and residential program on singer island I truly wanted to die. When I arrived to the island that sings I immediately got involved with there LIV program and suddenly I slowly became motivated to change and made a decision to receive help. The LIV program they offer is what makes this center different and in my opinion better than the rest. We went surfing, kayaking, on nature walks, we watched the sun rise on the beach and mediated every morning, animal petting zoos, rock climbing, played pickle ball and so much more. I’ll never forget the night they took us to see the full moon rise and we saw 3 shooting stars on the beach. I did not realize at the time but this helped me develop a healthy ROUTINE and I still have that routine today. They had music groups, H&I came in every night to bring meetings , the food was great and the staff was absolutely amazing and welcomed me with warm open arms and accepted me.The community and friends I made here became family to me and I still keep in contact with them today, but this was just the start! After I completed the 30 days. I continued treatment at crystal lake healing because it was suggested and I was determined to do anything to change my old ways. The staff here was truly outstanding such as Troy who is the director of the LIV program. The tecs such as Anthony, Henry, Rebecca, Lex, Christina, BRIE, Elexus, Ryan and so many more. The therapist and group coordinators like John Po, Erica, Mary Kate to name a few. Mason the operations coordinator is a great man, he even ordered a guitar for me. The nurses and doctors, they all helped me rewire my brain and develop new healthy patterns. I truly love all of them it’s because of them that I fell back in love with LIFE and no longer want to die. At this point I was fully plugged in with more recovery support then I ever had. When I graduated the program they offered an Alumnni program where we meet every two weeks and have special alumni events for the graduates. This is ran by the amazing TAYLOR who does such a great job. I’ve never seen a treatment place have such a great aftercare program like this. Taylor has taking us night time snorkeling 🤿, volley ball events back at singer island, and on Memorial Day weekend we all went to peanut island for a bbq where one of the owners took us on his boat to get us on the island. We have another fun event coming up and I heard they are planning something special for Halloween! That’s what makes this place different. You don’t see what I just mentioned at other treat ment centers. You won’t get the love, support, and people who really care like them anywhere else in the world. Take it from someone who’s struggled with heroine addiction for 17 years and is just getting it right now. If your reading this and want to experience the story I just told in your own way. Crystal lake gave me a place to heal. A place to figure out what kind of man I wanted to be. The staff at Crystal lake were patient with me and today I am proud of myself. My daughter’s proud of me. I can honestly say Transitions is the best recovery center I’ve ever been to. They are definitely not like other rehabs and I’ve been to many different places. What sets them different: there’s no judgement, you actually see your therapist, a psychiatrist, case management, and medical doctor 1-2 times a week, the groups are very beneficial and THEY TRULY CARE!! That’s by far the biggest thing. Staff all go out there way to care for us whether big or small. Housing is beautiful spacious apartments and weekends we do deep cleaning. Everyday there’s an outside meeting and H&I on property everyday but Sunday. Sundays we do outings as a community like the beach, top golf, or bowling. It’s a great way for us to all have fun at the end of the week. Shout out to the staff: Lori-Ann, Austin, Will, Maxime, Michael, Winnie, Summer, Tay Tay, Manny, Art, Dr. K, Jeff, Dr. Seely, Jennifer, and Shelly. Yall make this program worth being apart of. I would HIGHLY recommend joining this fellowship! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

There’s still so much misunderstanding, judgment, and stigma surrounding it and sometimes people are made to feel like their struggle defines who they are. You and your team looked past the hardest moments and you saw someone who was still worth helping, protecting and worth believing in.That kind of compassion cannot be measured by one act alone. That is the kind of compassion that can reach someone when they are at their lowest and remind them that they are still a person and loved and it gives them a reason to keep going. To every person at First Step Behavioral Health please know that our family noticed. To everyone that sometimes may feel forgotten. The individuals who brought her food, a warm blanket, cleaned up after her and then told her it was ok and reminded her she wasn’t alone. We noticed. We noticed the little things. We noticed the people who went out of their way to make her feel cared for when she couldn’t care for herself. We noticed the people who continued showing up even when the days were difficult. And most importantly we noticed the love. You may not realize how much those moments meant, but they meant everything to us. When we couldn’t be there. We had comfort, knowing that she was surrounded by people who genuinely cared for her and our family when we thought there was none. You and your team gave our family more memories when we thought there would be no more. You gave our family more laughter. More smiles, more time with our sister. Time is something that people take for granted until they realize there isn’t any time left. We thought our time was up with our sister and were preparing for her story to have a tragic ending. Because of your team, she has now the tools to heal. Mental illness does not just effect the one individual. Mental illness is a family disease and now because of First Step we have time to heal this disease as a family. So not just from the bottom of our hearts, but from our whole hearts we thank you. I’m still sober even tho some thought I wouldn’t be because I left 2days earlier than I was suppose to. I came through once, had an amazing g experience, and after a while of doing well, I unfortunately fell off. When I was finally ready for help again, I had moved back to Ohio, and the only way I’d go back to treatment is if I came back to Recovery Unplugged in South Florida. Clinical staff is phenomenal, my therapist Brendan was amazing, and I HAVE to give a shoutout to alumni team, who still keep me a part of a community long after finishing treatment. My alumni coordinator, Tonya, is absolutely amazing. She makes sure that I still stay a part of an amazing community long after I finished treatment. I’m extremely grateful for the experience I had with this program. From the very beginning, they made the entire process as easy and stress-free as possible, including helping me with my flight and getting me set up at the right facility so I could be as comfortable and focused as possible. One thing that meant a lot to me was that they even took my dog in when I had nowhere else to put him. That took a huge weight off my shoulders and allowed me to focus on myself and getting my life back on track. I’m truly thankful for the staff, the support, and everything this program did for me. I’ve been at AWA for 7 months and a miracle it was, and at first you might hate it—you might not want to come. In my experience, I was hesitant, skeptical, and filled with anxiety because of my past experiences with mental health facilities. But AWA is different. It’s such a great clinic, and I’ve learned to love it here. The staff truly care about you and your family, and you’ll come to feel connected with the other clients. Some days you won’t want to go because it’s 20 hours a week and you might be tired, but if you engage and take your treatment seriously, you’ll find that coming every day is worth it. Yes, there is little to no drama, and even when it happens, no one holds a grudge for long because we’re always there for each other. Plus, they won’t leave you in the dark after treatment—they make sure you have a plan afterward. They also let clients be very involved in their treatment plans, and many of the rules can change if the majority of the group agrees. I also love how inclusive AWA is—from race, to gender, to sexuality. The staff will help and counsel you even if you’re crying in group. I know that sounds obvious, but the facility I used to be in didn’t do that. I remember crying in group and one of the facilitators pulled me out to counsel me, and when I was overstimulated, they gave me earplugs to help. At the end of my treatment, I would say AWA definitely helped heal me, and I would recommend it to anyone going through mental health problems it has been truly a blessing.

I spent 60 days as PHP and 30 days as IOP at this rehab facility. There’s always 2 group rooms to choose from with activation of group facilitators and therapists that run the groups. While here I spent most of my time Scott’s group in the morning. He does a great job of making sure that you are correctly able to identify what got you here in the first place like the fact that being in rehab is not a choice. It is a result of your addiction. Your recovery is the choice you get to make if you put in the work. If you feel that you’ll get more benefit from learning the psychology of things then Dr. B’s group is perfect for you in the other room. And if you want a variety of techniques Jamie is amazing at balance including things such as music therapy, Ted Talks, and recovery speakers in addition to the regular conversations. Is Luminous perfect and issue free? NO. However, it is here to test you and make sure that while you’re under their protective bubble of life you learn to deal with life, cravings, and coping mechanisms the right way. There are many employees who are here for all the right reasons. Some have been through rehab and dealt with addiction themselves and are able to give you insight into what the correct steps to make are without all the fluff like the lead tech Novak who assists in the majority of day to day operations. My case manager Elise goes above and beyond her scope of her job title. While clients speak amongst themselves about issues they may be having, she is brought up as the one who often helps clients that aren’t under her management and picks up slack for other ppl who try to redirect you to someone else for assistance. It’s no wonder that when the new case manager came in they had her shadow her rather than the more senior case manager. Overall I thank Luminous and the entire staff and clients who all contributed to my Successful rehab completion. They have assisted me in my discovery phase and have put me on the path to recovery. I can now claim to be 90 days clean and sober for the first time in over 20 years. Thanks again.

So I think that yaz is the one who makes it happen at this facility and she is very helpful and very friendly I posted a post earlier that I may have been a little off and I apologize for that one so everyone is got a lot on their plate here and us addicts always want what we want and we want it now so there job is very stressful and it ain't no walk in the park to deal with us so I just wanted to say thank you luminous care for your help and support through my recovery here it has been a pleasure to meet each and every one of you counselor and techs.

Having been at FHE I know first hand the amount of care, and support that the staff provide. Especially the front line staff, they call the MHS. They are available 24/7 if you want to talk. Counselors are great too. The staff also call and check in with you after you leave. They really support their Alumni. I am grateful for FHE. This program saves lives!

I went to The Beachcomber in 2020 after 12 years struggling as an alcoholic. What I walked into wasn’t what I expected after a few stints at other rehabs. They were tough, hard on us. They spoke the truth which is something I hadn’t heard. I didn’t get sober as soon as I left, but I did soon after and I am so thankful for the experience I had there. I advise anyone to send their loved one there for a chance at a real and amazing life. Thank you to the Beachcomber.

Oh where to start ! I’ll be brutally honest . This isn’t a 5 star resort. And my first week I wanted leave more than anything ! But I stuck it out . Your not caulded or babied here everything is not handed too you . You have to work for it and try . It sucks but this place and masterminds method prepares you for re entry to society. Life’s not comfortable, convent or easy . Neither is mastermind . But it’s brilliant it teaches you how to deal with frustration,and the chaos of life and the structure and discipline required to live it sober . The staff really care . The OWNERS are on site working everyday not out living it up like most business owners do . And they would give you the shirt off there back if you needed it . This program is unique and unlike any other . It’s not always comfortable and convenient but neither is life and recovery . I left with the tools and coping skills and resources to stay working annd stay sober you have to want it . Mastermind showed me and motivated me to go take my recovery and I can’t thank this place enough . If you really want to recover it takes work and this program requires work just like life and recovery 110% recommend if your serious about recovery ❤️‍🩹

Our daughter went through the Transformations Treatment Center a few years ago (she is a First Responder) and the difference that it has made in her life and the lives of her friends, co-workers and our family cannot really be described with words, but I continue to feel very grateful for the change that she has made for herself and others. Unlike any other place I’ve been to, the staff treated me with such a graceful and welcoming attitude. The whole facility maxes out at about 25 people so groups and therapy are all tailored to you. From the very head of principles down to the drivers you get the same consistency in willingness to help. Facility is ran smoothly with attention to detail including cleanliness. I highly recommend this to anyone I know in a similar situation especially if you’re indecisive on narrowing down the complex recovery network in South Florida.

The food is made fresh each meal and there are options if you do not like what is on the menu that day. The techs are friendly and very passionate about you and your wellbeing. Plenty of activities and groups to keep you occupied all day and evening. I am happy I chose this place !

I absolutely had no idea what to expect from my experience here at Kandela and I’m truly grateful for the whole experience!! Once I leaned into the whole program, it really worked beautifully for me. Staff amazing and supportive!! Group I never ever thought I would be able to participate in .. but I did and proud of myself for it!! I surprised myself by embracing all it had to offer and I’m so glad I made this decision to embrace it all!!😊
