I spent 7 weeks in the facility working on recovery. The most important thing they accomplished was to equip me with the tools necessary to facilitate my recovery going forward. I left with a profound knowledge of what I should do , with the implementation left in my hands. The facility was clean and there was ample food available. I was able to watch others grow in their recovery and change; making lifelong friends during my time there.The staff did an excellent job during both group and individual sessions of therapy. The program is very structured with rules in place to give everyone the maximum chance of success. I highly recommend this establishment.

I Loved it there especially Ms. Lind & Ms. Joanne, my therapist they was very helpful ,anyhow I graduated successful , a group of us left to proceed with our mission to pursue our future and goals and doing awsome Sincerely Loytia S. I am a firm believer in things happen for a reason. I had unfortunately relapsed (alcohol) about 45 days ago. I tried to get into a detox center that had a tech that I was familiar with. I had just finished drinking copious amounts of vodka over a 10 day binge. That center said they could get me in the next morning. I didn’t have the luxury of waiting so I went to the ER, stayed two nights there. The treatment center kept pushing it to the next day saying that a bed hasn’t opened due to other patients missing flights and other issues. My wife called around to a few places and unfortunately they didn’t take my Insurance. This actually ended up being very fortunate for me. One of the treatment centers called Broward Retreat. Paul Apanowicz called me shortly after and told me he was ready for me that day. I just got home from a 30 day stay at Broward Retreat. I am so thankful that the other place I considered didn’t have a bed for me. I truly believe through the wonderful techs, insightful therapists, caring nurses, and even a few patients, that Retreat of Broward was the exact place I needed to be. Friendly, caring staff from top to bottom. These people truly do care. I found the therapy, insights, tools I need to assist me in my recovery journey. I am confident and well equipped to start the rest of my life living sober. They do a great job of keeping food, drinks, and snacks stocked. My only complaint would be some of the meals were hit or miss. The outings were nice to get a little change of scenery and a bite to eat at different restaurants. Went to Pompano Pier a few times for a nice reset and recharge. The ocean has always given me peace and comfort. I’ll probably forget a few names, but what an amazing caring staff all around. Mike Stone (shift managing tech) and I became friends early in recovery there. He’s got a big heart and so much knowledge and inspirations to share. All five therapists were so incredibly helpful. Suzanne, Jake, Denise, Keisha, and Lisa. Michelle was always there in the mornings with great energy and a friendly smile. Q, Ty, Mike, Ida, Tia, Juan, the over night crew. I can’t say enough good things about these wonderful people. Shannon was always tirelessly helping everyone get what they needed. A special thank you to Paul for picking up the phone and reaching out! I don’t do reviews very often, and I usually think they are just fake reviews. I just felt compelled to share my experience there at Retreat of Broward. If you’re unsure, need help, need detox, Retreat of Broward is a great start to your recovery. I had my phone the whole time. For anyone coming from a detox program where everything gets locked away, that's worth knowing. Being able to stay in contact with family and handle things in my life while doing the program made it feel sustainable, not like I'd put everything on pause.

I have so much to be thankful for this company and this process! I was one of those convinced that I didn’t need treatment, that I could do this all on my own. But I’d tried it my way too many times without success. Finally reaching out for help has been one of the best decisions of my life. The staff here are amazing! From the therapists, the BHT’s, case workers, everyone. And especially the LIV program. All of the activities like snorkeling, paddle boarding, and rock climbing to name a few really helped me to remember the person I used to be. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for help, can’t say enough good things about it.

Having experienced both the Fort Lauderdale and Deerfield facilities, I appreciate the differences between the two residential campuses. Fort Lauderdale provided the necessary support when my acuity was at its highest, but Deerfield has given me the independence and responsibility I needed so I can start preparing for life outside of treatment. My therapist, Dr. Despina, has a huge heart filled with love and has not only taught me skills, but she holds me accountable and challenges me to use them. She has helped me build a life worth living. Dr. Hume, my family therapist, is really good. She has helped me work on my boundaries and have a healthy relationship with my family. Dani, the Alumni Relations Manager, has been incredible. The love, selflessness and the genuine care and compassion she shows us means a lot. She goes above and beyond when running groups, she's always prepared, and it's clear she wants the best for us and wants us to have a life worth living. She goes out of her way to help us feel special, through birthday cards (and cakes) and remembering small things about us. She really cares and this goes such a long way. I am very thankful for the staff and the care at the Deerfield campus during my stabilization stay!

LifeSkills was there for our family during a difficult time. The Deerfield Beach location provided excellent care, and we were especially grateful for Tomas and Gina’s compassion and support. Dani has been truly incredible. The alumni program and ongoing support groups she leads are among the most valuable parts of LifeSkills. Her dedication does not end when treatment does. She continues to create a genuine sense of connection, community, and support for both alumni and their families. We are deeply grateful to her and the entire team.

Honesty, I wanted to go to a place that would help me. Florida House Experience ended up being that place. I spent 50 days during a nation wide lockdown, a.k.a. COVID TIMES, and came away healthier than I have ever been, mentally and spiritually. They patched me up with good clean food, soft serve ice cream, coping skills, mental health tools, and a forever family through their alumni programs. Thank you FHE, I am here today with your help, because the night before EMTs were picking me up out of a gutter and the ER threw me out after a cup of water. I never saw that attitude while I was at Florida House Experience. Are there rules? Yes, but they are there for safety and part of the plan to bring you to a better state of health, physically, mentally and spiritually.

This is by far the best place in the US for struggling first responders! Everybody has there own recipe for getting through life events and struggles and its certainly not a one size fits all process. FHE Shatterproof offers literally a buffet of resources for you to explore and determain what helps you specifically! Your not ever forced into any specific modality of proffesional service and get to build your own custom plan to gain peace and happiness back! FHE is the only place I have ever heard of that provides outstanding followup to include a free annual retreat at the beautiful Lake Aurora Christian Camp located in Lake Whales, FL. This in itself is life changing! When you have had enough and are ready to change your life, this is your oppertunity to take life back!

What an incredible experience at the 2026 FHEHealth Retreat in Lake Aurora, Florida. I can't say enough about the staff who organized and executed the itinerary for the weekend. Reuniting the Alumi and sharing our past and the situations that brought us to such a better life that we all lead today brings out an enormous anount of gratitude. It was amazing seeing faces that haven't been present for a while and meeting new people for the first time which makes this trip well worth it. There’s still so much misunderstanding, judgment, and stigma surrounding it and sometimes people are made to feel like their struggle defines who they are. You and your team looked past the hardest moments and you saw someone who was still worth helping, protecting and worth believing in.That kind of compassion cannot be measured by one act alone. That is the kind of compassion that can reach someone when they are at their lowest and remind them that they are still a person and loved and it gives them a reason to keep going. To every person at First Step Behavioral Health please know that our family noticed. To everyone that sometimes may feel forgotten. The individuals who brought her food, a warm blanket, cleaned up after her and then told her it was ok and reminded her she wasn’t alone. We noticed. We noticed the little things. From the moment I brought my son to AWA, I knew we were in the right place. I was exhausted, constantly worrying about my teen and the risky behaviors he was engaging in. Every discussion became an heated argument with no resolution. Immediately after admission, AWA had a treatment plan in place for us. We finally had a safe place to share our issues, without fear, judgement or harsh criticism. During my son’s treatment at AWA, I always felt that all the staff had his best interest truly at heart. They genuinely cared about him. I found the parent support night extremely helpful and learned so much. However, my son’s therapist, Nicholas, was truly our lifeline. He is down to earth, knowledgeable, kind, helpful and has a special talent for counseling difficult teens. He genuinely cares about his clients. He also was a great role model for my son. Had it not been for Nic, I don’t believe that my son would have completed the program. I always felt that I was very much included in my son’s plan of care. Nic has a talent for keeping parents up to date without breaking client trust. Post AWA, I feel like I have my son back! I'm eternally grateful to all the Dr. Maria and all her staff. I have been in 4 rehab and sober living facility's in the past 10 years. The 30 days I have spent at The Recovery Team has been by far the the most beneficial program I have been apart of. The group facilitators are very knowledgeable and deeply invested in the care of there clients. The facility is well maintained and has many recreational activitys. There living quarters are comfortable and cleaned by staff daily. The staff is attentive and empathetic too there clients. The Recovery Team has the best resources for long term recovery of any rehab facility I have experienced.

The people here are so caring, they attend to each patients needs immediately and with a smile. They truly care about each patient. The staff knows every patients name which made me feel comfortable and at home right away. All of my needs were met here anytime I needed anything. It was taken care of right away. I can honestly say Transitions is the best recovery center I’ve ever been to. They are definitely not like other rehabs and I’ve been to many different places. What sets them different: there’s no judgement, you actually see your therapist, a psychiatrist, case management, and medical doctor 1-2 times a week, the groups are very beneficial and THEY TRULY CARE!! That’s by far the biggest thing. Staff all go out there way to care for us whether big or small. Housing is beautiful spacious apartments and weekends we do deep cleaning. Everyday there’s an outside meeting and H&I on property everyday but Sunday. Sundays we do outings as a community like the beach, top golf, or bowling. It’s a great way for us to all have fun at the end of the week. Shout out to the staff: Lori-Ann, Austin, Will, Maxime, Michael, Winnie, Summer, Tay Tay, Manny, Art, Dr. K, Jeff, Dr. Seely, Jennifer, and Shelly. Yall make this program worth being apart of. I would HIGHLY recommend joining this fellowship! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I came here as a Tina addict with depression, anxiety, and PTSD. As I finish my time at Transitions, I’m leaving with a group of friends, a home group, a sponsor, and a real job. After completing Sylvia Brafman’s residential program in Georgia, my son transitioned into their PHP program in South Florida for continued treatment of schizoaffective disorder. The transition between the two programs was smooth, and the PHP team continued providing the structure, compassion, and support he needed as he adjusted back to everyday life. The staff has been absolutely amazing. They treat my son with dignity, patience, and respect, and they genuinely care about his progress. Since beginning PHP, we have continued to see tremendous improvements in his stability, confidence, and overall well-being. He is doing so much better and has a renewed sense of hope for his future. Our family is extremely grateful to the entire Sylvia Brafman team for supporting our son through every stage of his recovery. I highly recommend their PHP program to any family seeking compassionate and effective mental health treatment.
