I am a firm believer in things happen for a reason. I had unfortunately relapsed (alcohol) about 45 days ago. I tried to get into a detox center that had a tech that I was familiar with. I had just finished drinking copious amounts of vodka over a 10 day binge. That center said they could get me in the next morning. I didn’t have the luxury of waiting so I went to the ER, stayed two nights there. The treatment center kept pushing it to the next day saying that a bed hasn’t opened due to other patients missing flights and other issues. My wife called around to a few places and unfortunately they didn’t take my Insurance. This actually ended up being very fortunate for me. One of the treatment centers called Broward Retreat. Paul Apanowicz called me shortly after and told me he was ready for me that day. I just got home from a 30 day stay at Broward Retreat. I am so thankful that the other place I considered didn’t have a bed for me. I truly believe through the wonderful techs, insightful therapists, caring nurses, and even a few patients, that Retreat of Broward was the exact place I needed to be. Friendly, caring staff from top to bottom. These people truly do care. I found the therapy, insights, tools I need to assist me in my recovery journey. I am confident and well equipped to start the rest of my life living sober. They do a great job of keeping food, drinks, and snacks stocked. My only complaint would be some of the meals were hit or miss. The outings were nice to get a little change of scenery and a bite to eat at different restaurants. Went to Pompano Pier a few times for a nice reset and recharge. The ocean has always given me peace and comfort. I’ll probably forget a few names, but what an amazing caring staff all around. Mike Stone (shift managing tech) and I became friends early in recovery there. He’s got a big heart and so much knowledge and inspirations to share. All five therapists were so incredibly helpful. Suzanne, Jake, Denise, Keisha, and Lisa. Michelle was always there in the mornings with great energy and a friendly smile. Q, Ty, Mike, Ida, Tia, Juan, the over night crew. I can’t say enough good things about these wonderful people. Shannon was always tirelessly helping everyone get what they needed. A special thank you to Paul for picking up the phone and reaching out! I don’t do reviews very often, and I usually think they are just fake reviews. I just felt compelled to share my experience there at Retreat of Broward. If you’re unsure, need help, need detox, Retreat of Broward is a great start to your recovery. Everything about this place created what felt like home. From the techs to the nurses and all the way up the ladder. I felt safe and comfortable with ease. It’s nice to know there are good people in this industry still. Only 16 beds and a care team that exceeds expectations. Shout out to Q the driver for always making me laugh. I’m honestly thinking about coming back here, not to detox but to work and share the same love they gave me.

I spent 7 weeks in the facility working on recovery. The most important thing they accomplished was to equip me with the tools necessary to facilitate my recovery going forward. I left with a profound knowledge of what I should do , with the implementation left in my hands. The facility was clean and there was ample food available. I was able to watch others grow in their recovery and change; making lifelong friends during my time there.The staff did an excellent job during both group and individual sessions of therapy. The program is very structured with rules in place to give everyone the maximum chance of success. I highly recommend this establishment.

I had the distinct pleasure of enjoying Dr. Mejia’s T.H.R.I.V.E. Training for the overall development and well being of our young girls and it was FANTASTIC! What I loved about it the most was that it was holistic in nature, and really delved into all of the risk and environmental factors affecting our girls, and Dr. Mejia provided participants with a multitiered approach to addressing those challenges and their needs. As a result, despite my years of experience, I feel even more equipped with tools and strategies to help heal our girls so that they thrive!!!

Truth be told, this is the very best services for detox and treatment that I've ever had the pleasure of getting myself together. The staff is wonderful, excellent! From the nurses to the tech's to the kitchen. Even very nice ladies come and clean the rooms. Shout out to Tony who is a straight shooter and will hold us accountable for the part we played in our addiction and our recovery. Mental health is also treated, they help dual diagnosis clients with mental health, addiction or both. The other shout outs go to Martha who was my counselor. She helped me so very much and she, like the rest truly care about helping you to be your best version of yourself. I learned a lot. And mS. Masha is also a straight shooter, I enjoyed her groups, Brad's group. Adam couldn't be more compassionate and understanding when I called sobbing and crying for help. They came right away and brought me to treatment. The nurse's there are 5 stars. The good and snacks vlare delicious and like a restaurant! There is movie night l, bingo, basketball, arts and crafts karaoke. We can wear our own clothes and are allowed mp3 players. The rooms are like hotels with your own t.v. I can't leave out the wonderful tech's, simply beautiful people work there. I've been twice and have been clean now since September 2026. Let me also mention and advise the IOP after detox. This is the next step, I've heard nothing but good things about it. I owe Evolutions my life, literally. Thank you Evolutions for all the very best help you provided me!!!!!!! I went to The Beachcomber in 2020 after 12 years struggling as an alcoholic. What I walked into wasn’t what I expected after a few stints at other rehabs. They were tough, hard on us. John and Charles ran organized and insightful groups that made a real impact, and Joaquin was always involved and supportive as well. From the outset of my detox experience I was shown my room; it was spacious with a single bathroom and television. The bed was impeccable and I slept better there than I had in years. Facilities were clean and well maintained with a top shelf cleaning crew serving any need of accommodation, extra towels, general comfort, etc. More so, in the status of excellence were the staff. Technical assistant were very available and treated clients with respect and dignity. I consider them as friends and had many meaningful conversations both recovery focused and in casual company. Counselors and group facilitators were beyond reproach. I learned so much and took copious notes from group lectures and counseling sessions. My experience at Pines Recovery Life launched me toward my next PHP phase with such momentum I had begun to become crucially honest with myself and found extraordinary purpose in launching there and afterward to be well grounded in a recovery mindset and maintenance plan. Again, I'd like anyone considering this detox to acknowledge they will be participating in a well honed, well oiled machine of recovery support well beyong what you may expect at the level of detox. My comments are not complete without mentioning Billy, the General Manager. His humanity, warmth and demeanor had so normalized the institutional setting that a more in-depth ease of acceptance and self forgiveness was facilitated. Staff in general operated kindly and in kinship which was the most valuable aspect of management for individuals under, sometimes significant, duress.

The staff were great and caring food was good especially compared to other facilities I've been too. The rooms were comfortable at most times depending on the roommate. The bath facilities could be a bit better but again definitely seen worse. Nobody likes going to treatment, but they made the uncomfortable more comfortable.

Serenity Oaks changed my life. I went in a terrified shell of a person. I left born again, a new man entirely. The team of therapist is amazing. Jeff and Fumni especially, they saved my life. That place made me realize so much about myself I never thought was possible. Today I am clean and sober living a live beyond my wildest dreams. I owe the credit to the things I learned at Serenity Oaks. They give you all the tools you need to succeed in the real world. I recommend this place to anyone who is suffering from the cunning, baffling, powerful disease called addiction.

My daughter has been in Sylvia brafman 2 times. The staff r so amazing. I am always able to reach someone if I need to. They return calls . They truly care. The director deana is so amazing. Both times my daughter has been there deana has gone out of her way to help. That totally blows my mind. The director with all she has to do is still always available if I need her. Her counselor emily has also been awesome. She also calls me every Thursday to update me . I would totally recommend this facility to anyone.
