The bookkeeper, Betty Brinn, had grown up in a children’s home, so she knew firsthand the challenges lower income families face. Today, this company offers multiple insurance plans that cover 1 in 15 Americans.
Does Centene Corporation Cover Addiction Treatment?
It’s common to wonder if your insurance plan will cover drug rehab. The good news is that there was a law passed in 2010 called the Affordable Care Act (ACA). This law says most long term insurance plans have to cover specific health benefits. Both mental health and addiction treatment are on the list. That means most Centene plans will help pay at least some of the cost of drug rehab. However, there are exceptions to the law, so be sure to verify your coverage.
There are multiple types of addiction treatment. Your doctor will create a treatment plan showing the path you should follow. After you finish treatment, there are a lot of aftercare resources that can help you stay on the right track long term.
Before you start treatment, though, it’s important to understand the details of your insurance. Different plans have different coverage. Symetria Recovery saved my life!! I was driving down the highway suffering major withdraw from opioid addiction. I found Symetria Recovery and they had me in the very next day. I have just graduated from this program today. And what I have to say is, I am so grateful for Provive wellness, they have been apart of the programs that have saved my life. The staff has been extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Extremely organized and apart of the journey with you. If it wasn’t for me talking to Tracy and getting information, idk that I would have choose the program. Coming out of residential treatment I was scared to start all over again. But she walked me through all of the steps and her kindness settled my fear. And on day one clients were so welcoming and Cameron, the group facilitar and therapist, was so warm and welcoming. The way he thinks and the way he puts perspective out there was so impactful. My therapist Elisha, was so gentle with me and lead groups as well. Best choice I ever made!! Restorations gave me the tools and knowledge I need to stay sober and go back home to live a normal life. Words cannot explain the amount of gratitude I have for these people. From the owner and director, the counselors and techs who stay at the house and go on outings with you, everyone truly cares about you getting better. Where do I start . I m beyond grateful for beach house!! I came crawling into the doors on October 18th 2024 and I have successfully completed the program with a total of 125 days !!! Beach house literally saved my life. I did the detox and residential part and decided I wasn t ready for the real world so I went to the PHP & IOP program. And let me tell you . LIFE CHANGING!!!! I want to first thank Anthony, he is amazing! Always know how to keep the community together and happy! Also Mrs.Loni , mrs.Kim Bri and Rickey are great. but most importantly I want to give my upmost gratitude to Danielle my case manager and ANDROMADA!!!! My amazing therapist!! They showed me so much support the entire 3 months of PHP / IOP that I can t be grateful enough. Andromada is one of the BEST therapist I ve EVER came across. I came to her broken, with unresolved trauma and all my problems I ve been carrying on my back & she molded me and put me back together like a puzzle!!! and I can t even describe the treatment she s given me. I don t know where to begin, from the moment I exited the vehicle at Beach House, I was met with compassion. The intake staff was nothing less than professional. It takes a certain type of professional ability to make a person 1800 miles away from home comfortable. I d like to add, I struggled with my addiction for over thirty years, I was ready to change my life for the better. I committed myself to keeping my mouth shut and ears open, let s face it, I was unable to do for myself, what beach house could. In residential, I was able to attend great informational classes , led by professional personnel which taught me about my addiction. Not only was this opportunity given to me, I was also able to attend an AA meeting every night, as well as met with a therapist once a week to discuss where I was at in my recovery. Let me speak about the incredible breakfast, lunch and dinners that were provided, it made me feel as if I was at an all you can eat buffet, absolutely amazing. I took advantage of the beautiful sunrises on the beach every morning where I could start my day in a positive way. I also took advantage of all the extra activities that were put together for us on a daily basis. Just to name a few, movie night, bingo night, karaoke night, arts night and much more. I found it very easy to approach ANY of the beach house staff with any questions, concerns or suggestions. I also enjoyed the weekly chiropractor and massage appointments. As it came closer to my exit date, I made a mature, ethical choice. I showed interest in continuing my education of addiction and sobriety , and requested to be moved into the PHP program. PHP was another example of the care and compassion given by all staff and the opportunity to begin to adapt to a sober life style, and responsibility of myself. The staff at PHP are hands down very professional, and much like residential, the staff at PHP provide cook outs, karaoke , time to fish, watch movies , quiet areas to read and study the big book or just take in the fresh air and practice meditation. They provide transportation to and from a fantastic AA meeting Sunday through Wednesday, with speakers who come to the campus Thursday through Saturday. They also provide transportation to and from the beach in the morning along with transportation to Walmart, grocery store, church, and a additional AA meeting on Sunday. PHP gave me the opportunity to reconnect with my everyday tasks. This being , making my bed in the morning, keeping my room and apartment clean, and cooking dinner for myself. I also enjoyed doing my part in the group room. This is just alittle of what PHP has to offer. I found it refreshing that adult responsibility was included in this program. As for education, once again, the education of my addiction only continued to grow. From working with my therapist on a weekly basis, to the professionals teaching classes each day, not to mention the staff constantly planning extra activities such as going to the park for a session, going to the beach for a cookout , beach time and much more. By the time my PHP program was completed, I was able to notice a significant change in my life. As I stated in the beginning of this, I committed to working the programs Beach House provides for me. I chose to continue working on myself and entered IOP. With IOP, much stayed the same, however, IOP, provides the opportunity to leave the premises everyday, obtain a job, and much more. I can honestly say, It was with a heavy heart that this experience had to come to and end, however, To the entire staff that makes Beach House what it is, from the evening i arrived at intake, through to the completion of IOP, there aren t enough words, or gratitude I can say or show for saving my life. You all gave me the tools, showed me I am worth it, and I am loved. I am forever in your debt, and you ALL will remain in my heart. For those looking for piece, love and a life free of addiction, I highly recommend Beach House. It s life changing.
Pine Lake Behavioral has been a game changer for my family. Dr Jones gave us answers, Jodi really listens and tries everything until we find balance with meds and supplements. Australia is the best therapist we have ever worked with. Just an amazing practice all around. I wish every mental health office could be like this.

This clinic has saved my life. I was mentally at the worst place in my life and as soon as Fahima took over my care, it was obvious they care about their patients. The nurses are always a blast to work with and I feel so incredibly lucky to have become a patient. They ve continued working with me and my insurance to insure I get the best care I can.

The team of people working at Pine Lake Behavioral Health lift my mood every time I come!The nurse I have is amazing! Armitha s ability to empathize and understand is unmatched. She is hardworking and managed to get my very shy self to feel comfortable and open up. She gets it and goes above and beyond for her patients.The nurses are fun and down to earth. I am very grateful to the entire staff at OCH. I graduated from their out-patient S.A.D. program in August of 2024. The level of care and treatment which I received was excellent. I was treated with compassion and care during my entire course of treatment. The facilitators presented the curriculum in a engaging manner which encouraged our ability to share and develop a successful plan for moving forward in sobriety. My therapist Kat as well as my case manager Taylor were excellent and very supportive. They encouraged me as well as challenged me to work my program of recovery and sobriety. I can wholeheartedly recommend this facility to anyone looking for treatment for substance abuse disorder. I will be forever grateful to everyone who helped me on my journey.

My husband went through the independence center over 30 years ago. He did relapse after the first 3 months but he did not attend any aftercare or AA. Within a year he started going to AA and has been sober for almost 35 years. My son has also been through the independence center twice with varied success. He has had relapses but maintained sobriety for the majority of the time. He has used the tools he learned there to get sober again after relapsing without having to reenter treatment. The program will work for you if your honest with yourself and do the work. Good luck and god bless!

When you are ready, you are ready. I did three rehabs in the span of three summers and I ve been sober a year and a half since going to the Independence Center.The ENTIRE staff wass genuinely interested in my recovery. Of course it s up to me how honest I want to be with my counselor, Chaplin and myself (and God), but their unwavering encouragement doesn t hurt and it didn t. The facility is much better than others I ve been to in Nebraska and they keep the distracting extracurricular horseplay to minimum. They have a great culture and alumni in the A.A. and Lincoln communities.

Medication-Assisted Treatment: Does Centene Cover Suboxone & Methadone?
Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is a form of treatment available for alcohol and opioid addictions. With this form of treatment, FDA-approved medications are combined with other therapies to treat substance use disorders. Centene plans may cover expenses for any prescription medications that are required for your addiction treatment, such as Suboxone or methadone. The specific plan determines how much you’ll have to pay out-of-pocket.
MAT programs generally include counseling and individual and group therapy, and this aspect of the program is also covered by most Centene plans. Keep in mind you may need a referral to a MAT program to get insurance coverage, and your doctor might need to preauthorize the care with the insurance company before you begin.
Does Centene Corporation Cover Other Mental Healthcare?

What Inpatient Rehab Does Centene Corporation Cover?
Most Centene plans cover both inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment. However the amount of coverage varies by plan and state.
Depending on the individual policy Centene insurance may cover inpatient rehab services such as medical detox and residential treatment. It is extremely important that individuals check with their insurance provider to determine coverage and out of pocket expenses. You’ll also want to know if prior authorization is required and if you need to stick with in network providers.
In-patient medical detox allows for individuals to receive medical supervision while going through the withdrawal process. This can take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks. Healthcare providers will provide medication and other treatment to help manage withdrawal symptoms in an environment where clients have 24/7 support. Medical detox can take place in a dedicated inpatient detox facility, hospital or residential setting.
Residential treatment allows you to focus fully on treatment without any outside distractions. You may have individual and group therapy. Many treatment centers also offer holistic treatment like yoga and meditation along with art therapy and other options. You’ll live full time at the facility for the duration of the program which is between 30 and 90 days.
What Types of Outpatient Addiction Treatment Does Centene Corporation Cover?
Outpatient rehab and detox is covered by most Centene plans. Depending on the individual policy, Centene may cover outpatient rehab services such as partial hospitalization programs (PHPs) and intensive outpatient programs (IOPs). They likely also cover general outpatient care and medication assisted treat (MAT).
MAT uses FDA approved drugs to support the recovery process for weeks or months and in some cases years. Studies show that MAT greatly decreases relapse rates and allows you to focus on recovery rather than cravings.
PHPs are full day programs where you receive treatment similar to a residential program but you go home at night. An IOP offers around nine hours of treatment a week and often has evening or morning sessions so you can accommodate work or school. These intensive programs are helpful after you finish residential treatment.
After the intensive programs you step down to general outpatient care which offers 1 or 2 hours of counseling a week. You can also get aftercare support and connections to peer support groups.
How to Verify Your Centene Corporation Coverage
Centene has a variety of ways for their members to verify their insurance coverage. One way to do this is by calling the toll free number on the back of the member card. Centene also has a website where participants can look up benefits and find in network medical providers or find educational health information.
Finally if you have a specific treatment center in mind they may be able to help with verifying your insurance. They can also let you know if you need your doctor to call for preauthorization before you begin treatment.
