About The Hope House

Hope House is a residential luxury alcohol and substance use disorder treatment facility overlooking the beautiful McDowell Mountains in Scottsdale, Arizona. We provide adult men and women with a wide range of treatment options to address not only addiction but dual diagnoses as well.

At Hope House, our master’s level clinicians and licensed psychologists are trained in the most effective evidence-based treatment modalities, alternative therapy options and medication assisted treatment (MAT) plans to heal both the mind and the body. We believe in an open door policy with a 1:1 approach. We accomplish this by limiting the number of clients we accept to no more than 10 clients at a time.

Our highly trained addiction professionals work with you to create treatment plans to meet your unique long-term recovery goals. Therapy includes individual and group work as well as alternative and experiential therapies such as equine therapy, biofeedback, cranial electrical stimulation (CES) and wilderness therapy. Individuals may also participate in acupuncture, massage therapy, exercise and mindfulness practices — all of which have been found to improve recovery outlook.

Hope House offers MAT which when used with talk therapies has been shown to improve recovery outcomes. We use FDA-approved medication to help you manage cravings, stabilize your physical and emotional health and aid in long term recovery.

Hope House wants to provide you with the best care in the most comfortable environment. Our luxury treatment facility is situated near stunning desert views, giving you a close up view of the beautiful saguaro cactuses of Scottsdale, Arizona. Our clients can expect chef prepared gourmet meals, a fully equipped fitness facility, a comfortable movie theater and a recreation center. Our resort style pool, hot tub and sauna provide a soothing place to relax and unwind outdoors.

The Executive Treatment Program at Hope House allows you to meet your professional obligations while working on your treatment plan. Clients who participate in this program are given private rooms and workspaces. You are permitted to use electronic devices during free time to make calls, send emails or handle work tasks.

Our dual diagnosis program allows us to simultaneously treat both addiction and other mental health problems including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). We understand that substance abuse and mental health problems often go hand in hand. Our team is dedicated to helping you identify the cause of addiction and will create a unique treatment plan that breaks the cycle of unhealthy coping skills and heals past trauma.

Our treatment facility is proud to be accredited by The Joint Commission. We are also Clean Plus Certified by AZSafe and a Legit Script certified treatment facility. The Addiction Group has named us the best Suboxone treatment center in Scottsdale.

We accept most commercial insurance plans and offer assistance to help you to understand your benefits. For individuals who are uninsured or choose not to use their health insurance for treatment coverage, we offer a competitive price for treatment and will work with you to set up an interest-free payment schedule. We can also help you find a third party lender to make paying for rehab easier.

Accepted Insurance

The Hope House works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

Intervention services are purposeful, organized attempts to help individuals who are experiencing alcohol and substance use disorder get the treatment they need. Often, families recognize that their loved ones are exhibiting destructive behaviors related to their alcohol and drug use and need help communicating their concerns to them and seek assistance in locating the appropriate treatment options.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

24-hour clinical care allows for around the clock supervision during alcohol and substance use disorder treatment. This can be especially important for those who are receiving medical detox services or medication assisted treatment. Individuals are monitored for complications related to withdrawal and also receive the care they need to maintain their physical and mental health. The goal is to make the recovery process safer and as comfortable as possible.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Medically Assisted Detox refers to medically monitored withdrawal from alcohol and certain substances such as stimulants, benzodiazepines and opioids. Medical professionals use FDA-approved medications to lessen withdrawal symptoms and support overall physical and mental health in a safe environment during the earliest stages of recovery.

Treatments

Substance Abuse refers to a physical or emotional dependence on addictive substances such as alcohol or drugs. Hope House provides inpatient addiction treatment that involves individual and group therapies utilizing several different treatment modalities to help individuals maintain recovery.

Alcoholism is defined as a physical or emotional dependence on alcohol. At Hope House, we provide treatment that includes individual and group therapy. Our MAT program is a valuable part of this treatment because it helps stabilize physical health and makes the withdrawal process easier and more manageable.

Opioid addiction refers to a physical or emotional dependence on opioid drugs including heroin, fentanyl or prescription pain medications. The residential treatment program at Hope House includes individual treatment plans to combat opioid addiction through the use of evidence-based treatment modalities including MAT plans to support long term recovery.

Drug addiction is a tremendous problem in this country with an estimated 22 million Americans experiencing the chronic and compulsive use of addictive substances that negatively impacts their physical and emotional wellbeing. At Hope House, our masters level clinicians and psychologists help you to navigate recovery in a comfortable and safe environment.

Dual diagnosis refers to a mental health condition and alcohol or substance use addiction that occur in the same person at the same time. Studies find that people who experience mental illnesses are more likely to abuse substances to help them cope. Common co-occurring conditions include anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD and PTSD. Hope House offers programs specially tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals facing this problem.

Treatment for addiction includes mental health services that are provided while during your stay at the facility. This may be a hospital, clinic, or a luxury treatment center setting. You receive 24-hour support and monitoring by mental health counselors and clinical staff. Most inpatient programs last 30 days, but some can last for two months or longer. Mental health is addressed during treatment via group and individual counseling, addiction education programming, and often recreational activities.

The Hope House Gave Me Hope (and a Lot More) I spent a month at The Hope House in Scottsdale, and honestly—it changed my life. From the first phone call, Cameron in admissions was like a rehab concierge. He patiently answered my 1,000 questions over six months without ever once blocking my number (thanks, man). The program dives deep—not just into what we’re doing, but why. It’s trauma-informed, focused on grace over guilt, and somehow made group therapy feel like a TED Talk. Alan Boss, my therapist, was brilliant and compassionate, and Scott made CBT make sense in a way that stuck (and didn’t make my brain melt). Shout-out to the nurses, especially Alita, who was equal parts kind and badass. The techs—like Jassica—were the kind of people who somehow always knew when you needed a joke or a hug. The peer group (10 of us total) was unexpectedly one of the best parts. We laughed, cried, and healed together. It felt like trauma summer camp… minus the s’mores, but with way more emotional breakthroughs. Small note: they advertise a private chef, but during my stay, that chef was apparently on an extended vacation or hiding in Narnia. They say they’re working on it—and in fairness, I didn’t starve. If you’re thinking about getting help, do it. The Hope House is the real deal. Come for the healing, stay for the breakthroughs… and maybe someday, the chef.

I was skeptical about going to a luxury rehab. But The Hope House completely changed my view. It wasn’t just about comfort (although yes, the mansion-style home, private chef, and resort pool didn’t hurt). What really stood out was how personalized everything was. The team took time to understand my story and helped me work through years of addiction and trauma. I didn’t feel like a number. I felt heard.

They really don’t mess around when it comes to individualized treatment. I came in expecting a cookie-cutter 30-day program, but the team assessed me on day one and built something totally unique. My treatment involved CBT, art therapy, even EMDR, and the staff explained everything clearly. I never felt like I was just going through the motions.

The setting itself is beautiful, the food is excellent, and it truly offers a break from the stress of daily life. In that sense, it serves well as a temporary escape. But for those seeking deep healing and sustainable recovery, this may not be the ideal environment. The therapeutic approach is unique—less traditionally empathetic, more “tell-it-like-it-is.” While this can feel refreshing at first, especially compared to the typical “how are you feeling?” model, it may not always come from a grounded or balanced place. In my experience, one therapist in particular—while perhaps well-meaning—carried a pessimistic tone, unresolved resentment toward a previous employer, and struggled to create safe space in the presence of women. For some, this style may feel honest; for others, it can come across as emotionally unsafe. It’s important to note that the staff overall seem emotionally and professionally burnt out. While they continue to show up and try, the energy they bring can feel flat or disengaged. This could be misinterpreted by more vulnerable clients, potentially triggering emotional distress or crisis intervention, such as an involuntary psychiatric hold. Despite these concerns, this facility is not entirely a cash grab. They offer scholarships and appear willing to work with clients financially when possible—a rare quality in the treatment world. That said, the therapeutic experience still feels limited in depth and consistency. And while the house is stunning, the beds leave a lot to be desired—noisy, uncomfortable, and not exactly restorative. In summary, this place may be a good fit if you're looking for a structured break from life in a comfortable setting. But if you're pursuing serious recovery and emotional transformation, you may want to look elsewhere for more consistent, ethical, and emotionally safe care. Wishing anyone reading this strength on your recovery journey—whatever path you choose, make sure it supports the person you are becoming.

The Hope House has had a profound impact on my life. They helped me achieve life saving sobriety, but more importantly, their programs and staff transformed me in ways I never thought possible. I am a better person, friend, husband, father, and son. I love life and I look forward to each new day. Going to H.H. was the best decision I ever made.
