Me and my girlfriend haven’t even been admitted yet, but whether we are going or not , the entire admissions team especially Jackie need a raise, a paid vacation, flowers and the at-most amount of credit where it’s due , her and the team are probably the biggest reasons we are going to be admitted here, never in my 5 years of trying to better myself and find recovery have I ever come across people who genuinely care in this field, she had me and my girlfriend in tears with the amount of care and love that was given, the way she and the rest of the team talked and treated us was unlike anything we have ever experienced before. We felt safe , cared for , understood and best of all . Accepted. Thank you so much for making this process and decision the easiest one we have ever made, we cannot wait to fly out and start our healing process, I hope who ever is in charge reads this and goes and gives that woman and her amazing team a raise and some well needed vacation time! Cannot wait to meet in person and begin our journey with the purpose team! Love T&L

Other Forms of Payment

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Financing your treatment can make treatment more accessible. You'll work with your care provider to set up payment plans, including interest rates and repayment timelines. Financing options vary widely and not all programs offer them, so be sure to get the full details before enrolling in treatment. If you have insurance or other benefits, financing may help you cover your remaining out of pocket expenses.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

The Purposes Recovery team provides around-the-clock clinical care and monitoring as part of their personalized inpatient services. This ensures client safety as the team helps reduce cravings, prevent complications, and lower relapse risk. These services are offered throughout detox and treatment.

Clients can safely detox in this licensed medical facility as they eliminate substances, including opioids, stimulants, and benzodiazepines, from their bodies. In addition to delivering tailored, targeted support, the care team can also coordinate with other long-term treatment providers to form a comprehensive recovery plan.

Inpatient clients at Purposes Recovery can enjoy a range of on-site amenities including an upscale gym, indoor pool, game room, and luxurious bedrooms. These spaces allow for individual reflection while encouraging peer socialization. Inpatient providers specialize in evidence-based and holistic therapies, including trauma-informed care.

The center’s partial hospitalization program provides all-day clinical support, allowing clients to return home at night. Clients meet for five to six hours per day, five days a week. They’ll receive evidence-based therapy, relapse prevention training, and medication management. This level of care is ideal for clients stepping down from inpatient treatment.

The intensive outpatient program at Purposes Recovery meets daily for three to four hours each day. It’s a less-intensive option than partial hospitalization, and prepares clients for a life of independence. In addition to individual, group, and family therapy, clients can also participate in holistic approaches and creative therapies.

Standard outpatient care here includes regular weekly sessions based on each client’s individual treatment plan. It’s the least-intensive outpatient option offered at Purposes Recovery. This program is best suited for clients who have a high level of support at home and can maintain their recovery while attending to academic, personal, and professional duties.

Before each client completes their treatment at Purposes Recovery, their care team will work closely with them to develop a customized aftercare plan. This plan connects them to local resources that can be integral to their long-term recovery, including outpatient therapy and peer-based support groups.

Purposes Recovery has connections with several sober living homes in the Los Angeles region. Entry into one of these homes may also be part of a client’s aftercare plan, especially if their current home environment isn’t conducive to their sobriety. Sober living homes allow residents to focus on their recovery in a substance- and distraction-free environment.

An intervention is a meeting designed to help a loved one come to terms with the effects and realities of their substance use disorder and encourage them to seek help. Helping an individual understand the need for treatment is often the first step toward healing. The multi-disciplinary team here can help you arrange and organize these conversations, offering guidance and support.

Treatments

Clients who struggle with alcohol use disorder (AUD) can find hope and healing at Purposes Recovery. After detox, the team offers therapeutic interventions to help individuals understand the root causes of their condition, as well as holistic options like yoga and meditation to support their emotional health. The program also incorporates 12-step work, peer support groups, and relapse prevention training.

The drug addiction program here supports recovery from a range of substances, including benzodiazepines, prescription drugs, cocaine, heroin, and more. Each client will receive targeted care appropriate for addiction, with services that include medical monitoring, evidence-based therapy, and holistic practices. There’s a strong emphasis on aftercare planning and relapse prevention to encourage long-term sobriety. Most clients in this program pursue residential treatment to start their recovery in a distraction-free environment.

Individuals struggling with opioid use disorder (OUD) can find personalized treatment at Purposes Recovery. Our comprehensive approach to opioid addiction includes evidence-based and holistic therapies, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT). Our MAT program uses FDA-approved medications, including methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone, to alleviate physical pain and reduce relapse risk.

Addiction to illicit substances can affect every aspect of an individual’s life. The team here caters their treatment approach to each client’s specific needs, incorporating proven and alternative therapies, such as art therapy and nutritional counseling. Residential and outpatient clients will explore the root of their substance use and discover healthy ways to live and cope with stress.

Purposes Recovery specializes in dual diagnosis treatment, helping clients address any mental health issues they’re experiencing in addition to substance use. They employ evidence-based strategies that cover the medical, behavioral, and psychological aspects of each condition. This integrated approach helps them treat co-occurring disorders including depression, anxiety, trauma, and PTSD alongside addiction.

This center has medical experts on staff who specialize in treating a host of mental health conditions. This includes bipolar disorder, OCD, and schizophrenia, as well as depression, anxiety, and PTSD. We offer this treatment in conjunction with addiction treatment for a comprehensive approach that heals clients from within. We help clients overcome treatment resistance, meet personal goals, and live fully in recovery.

Programs

The adult program at Purposes Recovery caters to clients who might be struggling with common issues like work/life balance, relationship problems, and the challenge of caring for aging parents. These therapies focus on building coping skills, growing resilience, and developing self-awareness, showing clients how to navigate these hurdles without turning to drugs or alcohol.

Senior therapy here focuses on the mental and physical challenges that come with aging. Topics covered may include medication management, chronic pain management, and ways to optimize each client’s mental and physical health. Sessions may also dive into common concerns like social isolation and loss to support emotional health.

The therapists at Purposes Recovery are trained to provide supportive, affirming care to all clients, including members of the LGBTQ community. Experts focus on stressors that affect these individuals in particular, including stigma, discrimination, and difficult family dynamics. Dual diagnosis treatment is available to address any substance use that arises as a result of these challenges.

Programs for men at Purposes Recovery focus on topics that commonly affect the male community, including job-related stress and anger management. Clients will also learn how to identify and address underlying trauma as well as how to communicate openly and find outlets for emotional expression. These conversations often occur in peer-based support groups.

Gender-specific programs for women at this center explore issues that can affect a woman’s mental and physical health, including the challenges of raising a family and taking care of a home. These programs may also dive into intimacy, relationship dynamics, and co-occurring mental health conditions that can exacerbate substance use.

Young adults face a unique set of challenges as they prepare to enter adulthood, and Purposes Recovery helps address them. This population faces social complexities, academic stress, and the pressure that accompanies the transition from college to the workforce. An emphasis is on building self-esteem, establishing coping skills, and equipping adolescents for a substance-free life.

Family therapy offers a platform for members to have an open dialogue about the challenges that addiction has placed on the family unit. Through guided sessions, therapists can help families develop healthy communication skills and address unresolved issues. By working together toward a common goal, they help to support their loved one's sobriety.

During group therapy, men and women learn to express their emotions openly in a non judgmental setting. This helps you process your feelings and reduces feelings of social isolation that are often associated with addiction.

Individual therapy for drug addiction includes a customized treatment plan that considers your history and life circumstances. During your therapy sessions, the therapist helps you uncover underlying issues and triggers for addictive behavior that support a holistic approach to recovery.

While in rehab treatment, you may work on developing various life skills to help you in long term recovery. These may include resilience, interpersonal skills, and self awareness. The focus will be on developing healthy habits for self care and relationships so you have the skills you need to manage day to day life.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience at Purposes Recovery was absolutely awful. The Clinical Director literally called me immature just because she didn’t like what I had to say. Totally unprofessional behavior from someone in that position. The only positive thing I can say is that most of the techs at Purposes East are amazing — they actually care. Except for Will. You think you’re talking to him in confidence, but everything you say somehow gets reported back. Definitely can’t trust him. At one point, Steven called the house phone screaming at me because he had wrong information. He actually threatened me that if I did anything wrong, I’d be kicked out. It completely triggered me and made me want to use again — which is the opposite of what a rehab should be doing. He did eventually apologize, but the damage was done. They also let people stay there who clearly need a higher level of care. It’s not safe for anyone. The rules constantly change, and if you ask to see the client handbook, good luck — it’s “not available.” Nurse Camara is something else. She acts like she runs the whole place and knows everything, but in reality, she’s rude and unhelpful. One client even snuck in drugs and was using while “detoxing,” and she didn’t bother to inform the techs. Totally irresponsible. And then there’s Hola — two-faced as it gets. She pretends to care, says she wants to help and “get to know you,” but the moment something isn’t reported perfectly, she flips and gets you kicked out. The only reason I went there was because my insurance was accepted — otherwise, I never would’ve chosen this place. One of the male techs even contacted me outside of the facility in a way that felt like sexual harassment, and nothing was ever done about it. Purposes Recovery is wild — unprofessional, inconsistent, and not a safe environment for people trying to get clean. Think twice before going here.
