I’ve been working with the staff of RCA- Bracebridge for close to 2 years now. What an amazing facility and staff they have there. As a retired Police Officer who struggled with both mental health and substance abuse issues, it’s comforting to know that there are places that have programs tailored specifically to First Responders/ Veterans (RESCU). I spent 30 days here, and I can honestly say it was one of the most important experiences of my life. When I arrived, I knew I needed help, but I don’t think I fully understood just how much I needed to learn. The staff gave me something I desperately needed: the tools to save my life. They didn’t simply help me get through 30 days. They taught me how to begin living differently, how to understand myself, how to face the things that brought me there, and how to move forward with hope. What made the experience so meaningful was the people. I felt supported, heard, respected, and cared for. There were difficult days, but even those days became part of the process of healing and growth. I will always be grateful for the people who walked beside me during those 30 days. I came here needing help, and I am leaving with tools, perspective, hope, and a second chance at my life. I can’t fully put into words what this place has given me. But I can say this: they didn’t just help me get better. They gave me the hope, wisdom, and willingness to discover, which saved my life, and for that, I will be forever grateful.

Where to start… This is quite the recovery facility. Not only does it test your fortitude and determination for recovery, but helps to foster stability, happiness, mental health, self worth, sobriety, fellowship, and the pursuit of a recovery based future. The relationship between a corporate entity and the intimacy necessary to provide to all walks of life trying to recover from substance abuse and poor mental health can be a brittle and fragile bond. What works for some will not work for others. This fact makes running an establishment such as RCA Capital Region quite the challenge. There are people who have the gift and ability to help everyone strive in recovery at this facility though. One who stands out the most is Brittany Rieman. She has an astonishing story, that has given her the ability to relate to any and all patients within RCA, past present and future. Brittany is strong willed and proud of the things she has overcome along her journey. This gives people hope both in and out of the rooms, all across the board. It shows the tenacious way to be when trying to over come something such as substance addiction. Or poor mental health. The fact that RCA provides a counselor/therapist to their patients is a hugely valuable and important aspect to recovery. Strong mental health is the beginning of a successful journey in any aspect of life. Pastor Kenneth White is one of the therapists on staff at the Capital Region and he leaves a lasting impression on his patients as well. He relates to them in so many ways both on a personal and clinical level. Ms.Rachel and Mr.Tim are two group instructors who apply the information to their own struggles and experiences which makes the education personal and meaningful. Finally Ms.Tammy, this is a woman who genuinely cares about the struggle and experiences each and every patient has which are all their own. No one knows what it’s like to live in someone else’s struggles. Within RCA though you are surrounded with people who double as both peers and mentors who’ve made some of the same mistakes you have but also offer a different perspective of the same or similar situations. Experience is one of the best educators there is, the curriculum shared here in the respective styles of group instructors leaves a lasting impression for those who are ready to let go of their old habits and way of life.

Im really grateful for my experience at Recovery Centers of America – Capital Region. The residential program gave me the structure I needed, and my experience with the outpatient program has been great as well. Tammy, Brittany, and Rachel have been fantastic coordinators. They’re friendly, responsive, and make the whole process much easier to navigate. I also want to give a special shout-out to Cassandra, an excellent therapist in the outpatient program. She’s easy to talk to, genuinely listens, and creates a comfortable environment to work through difficult things. Overall, I’ve had a great experience with RCA Capital Region and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for quality treatment.

The councilors to the coordinator are all amazing they give u as much information as possible while giving the tools to succeed. I had a few options after detox/rehab for a step down program to continue working on my recovery. I am very happy that I chose to go to MRP. From the initial assessment to my next step afterwards, I was supported and involved with every single part of this process. Kim was my counselor and she treated me like I was her own son. She helped open up and talk about things that have been such a struggle for me my whole life. The groups were very informative and enjoyable at the same time. As much as we worked on our recovery, we also had a lot of fun while I was there. We went bowling, to the movies and fishing when the weather permitted. I am so thankful for every single staff member who helped me with everything that I needed. I was so nervous on my way there but that feeling disappeared as soon as I stepped in the door. I was a bit sad to leave but I was also very excited to move on to the next chapter of my life. Again thank you MRP, I appreciate y’all so much.

We are and have been incredibly impressed with MARC’S recovery program. This is so much more than just a 30-day inpatient program. This is round 2 with our son in an inpatient 30-day program. First round included 60-day housing program with another recovery team. Choosing MARC after a 30-day inpatient, has gone beyond our expectations. The plan of treatment was SO individualized to our son’s needs. The program included substance recovery and truly addressed his mental health. The communication with the staff was clear and quick to respond. The program incorporated weekly family therapy which educated us on addiction and taught us how to communicate again without waking on “eggshells.” The staff is compassionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in my son’s success. The program provided the tools, support, and guidance he needed to rebuild his life and strengthen my relationships with our family. Including family in the recovery process has made a tremendous difference and helped create a strong foundation for lasting recovery. His courage and confidence have made him a strong individual. We highly recommend this program to anyone seeking comprehensive, compassionate care with a successful recovery. My son has chosen to remain with his therapist as his outpatient. The trust and bound with his therapist is strong.

Our family had a wonderful experience at Sandstone. Our teen was making terrible choices and nothing we were doing as parents was working. Sandstone’s whole of person concept of care was everything our family needed. The program provided a personal therapist for our teen; along with twice a day group therapy sessions; pet therapy; nature walks; and fun group outings. They also provided us a family therapist and offered voluntary group therapy sessions for all the parents who currently had teens in the program, which was a great resource and helped my husband and I feel less alone. From the intake to the out processing, my teen reported feeling safe and well cared for and my husband and I shared that sentiment. We were a little nervous going in because of the online reviews, but if your family is struggling with a teen with addiction, we highly recommend this place. Our teen did say that the food was terrible, but I’d rather the food be terrible and the program be excellent than the other way around. Our teen just started college and said the program was a great way to reset and get back on track.

I had a great experience at this facility and couldn’t have asked for any better. The entire facility is beautiful, warm and inviting. The staff from every department were super friendly, knowledgeable and encouraging. I checked in after having a bad experience at another local facility and can tell you it was night and day in comparison. I met a lot of great people and as strange as it may sound, I was a bit sad to leave. I highly recommend Alpas as it’s the best place to be for recovery.

I cannot recommend this program enough! After months of trying with no success we have found a program for my mom that finally wields some results! Such an amazing and supportive staff that welcomed her with open arms and unwavering kindness. They have shown countless times that they will never give up on their patients! Huge shout out to Cindy and Pete for SAVING my mom and offering her a 2nd family. What a kind, forgiving and uplifting group of professionals. Ok so at first I gotta admit it was probably the hardest thing I’ve done but by the grace of god and all the amazing people at tru healing who helped me through it everyday I did it. Not only did I complete the 30 day program I met some of the most amazing people I have ever met. Starting with the counselors and case managers, my counselor Ms Mo she is tough but the most helpful and supportive person and I needed your toughness and more importantly she knew I needed that as well and for that I thank her and Mrs bam omg she is the sweetest person ever and helped me everytime and always was there when I needed to talk which was a lot and for that thank you so much. Now another person who was so kind and amazing to me and to everyone was Nate he is an amazing person and such an inspiration thank you so much Nate. My inspiring experience at Kolmac, I was compelled to seek intensive rehab by my specialist. Reason being to do otherwise would mean the surgeons wouldn't operate. My blood scores gave me 18 months. I was in a wheel chair, Could barely walk, Everything hurt. I was a pretty useless human at the time. I chose Kolmac because I couldn't get somewhere in person. Looking back it was the best way for me to get over my skepticism of rehab or therapy. I'm older gen x, sorry its in my nature. It took about 3 weeks before it sunk in. I realized I had no time left. I looked at that 18 months. This is what I have to work with. I control this last 18. I'm going to fake it if I have to. I did at first but, turns out my self is pretty gullible. Kolmac helped me get my mind right. I got better at dealing with bad news. Loved ones started to notice. I started to meditate when I couldn't sleep. I prayed to God. Don't let my last days be the sad part of a country song. Then my scores started to improve. I physically improved. I had more time, which coincided with the gift of a living donor. Then setbacks. A rollercoaster. All the while I had the soft pillow of Kolmac friends to help. Everyone has their monster. My health was mine. There is a special bond that you developed with other recovering alcoholics. I notice we seek each other out at parties. The battle of recovery is brutal and I learned a lot from my fellow Kolmac warriors and waryetts I love and care about them like family which makes it so hard to move on. So back to the grind. Life doesn't always go the way I want. I have the tools to deal with it. I've found peace and happiness in the quiet spaces of my day. I've come a long way in 18 months. I trust my sobriety which in turn inspires others and makes them happy. Paul

Going in I was apprehension as the program is intensive. But after one group session, I felt completely at ease. I began looking forward to groups, and meeting with my counselor. They keep in touch with you intermittently throughout the program to make sure that you’re adjusting to Kolmac. Safety, and accountability are also of the utmost importance, which I truly appreciated. Overall, Kolmac gave me more tools to add to my toolbelt, while keeping me engaged and challenging me. This place is full of love, compassion and dedication to helping patients become their best selves. The Jude House has creative outlets for the patients like open mics where they can sing, play drums, guitar and share their songs and poetry. There is always a lot of laughter and support. They are investing even more into The Jude House now offering trauma informed yoga, music and art.

Once again, I found it necessary to return to Hygea Healthcare for help. This facility is wonderful because Maryland doesn't really offer detox facilities like this one. I need to thank these people, especially for the care they gave me during my stay. Very good experience, was my 1st time in a treatment program and I was very impressed by how helpful and attentive the team was. All of my needs were met, every question I had was answered and all of my troubles were resolved with great solutions. The case managers Tay and Kayla were wonderful and did everything possible for me to support my treatment and tended to my accommodations and also made me feel very secure because none of my problems made them feel annoyed they were very respectful and professional and definitely went above and beyond for me! I recommend the middle river Hygea treatment center to anyone I know who needs the help and I hope you do as well especially if this is yours or their first time at a treatment center. I can honestly say I did not have a negative experience at all throughout the entire time I stayed.

As a homeless Veteran from Indiana leaving an abusive marriage I asked the VA for help for housing. I was on the list for a 1 bedroom apartment and was approved within 3 months with move in date 3 months later. I have nothing bad to say about my stay there. I will rate Chrysalis House based on when I was there and when it was being ran by different staff and Mrs Carisaa was there. Other than that I can not speak for the program after Mrs. Carissa left. When I was there it was tough but it is what i needed. I have never been to a program that actually cared and literally internally got to me dug up some buried issues and I worked on them. Mrs. MELVINA was my counselor, she was amazing. Most of the staff had went through addiction. Mrs Denise was amazzziiinnggg i never felt uncomfortable, leaving my son with them during the day. The whole staff at that time was amazing. Yes, it was very strict, but they did it in a loving way because they did not want us to die. I know countless women That graduated the Chrysalis House and are still clean. I have ten fifteen, close lifelong friends that I had met at Chrysalis and that are still clean to this day. I have never went to a treatment that had this much success. Like I said, I cannot speak for the new staff, but it sounds like it is still a great program.While I was there and before I left, they were building on the new addition which was beautiful.It was finished before I left but was not open yet. A woman and children's program is needed and I hope that this one is ran as good as it was when I was there.I'm sure it is. I felt so safe with my children. I'll forever be grateful for Mrs. Carissa and all the staff.

I was someone who stayed here for so time almost a year. I know you can't please everyone but they did try to. Most of the residential staff was wonderful very attentive to the clients needs. The two that I felt that went beyond their job was Simone and Melissa I felt very safe and comfortable w them and they are some of the most compassionate, caring staff I have come across I truly believe they are at their job not only for a paycheck but to help. Thank you to all the residential staff. The clinical team here is beyond amazing I am actually lost for words how much the team does. From the moment I got on the phone with them, I felt like someone actually heard me . They didn’t push me or judge me—just straight up helped me figure out what I needed. The place had a super chill energy, kind of like a breath of fresh air after all the chaos I’d been through .What hit different was the way they blended structure with real understanding. I have been going to this clinic for 9 years, and have always been treated very well— like I hope all Veterans would be. When I sit in the waiting room before an appointment, I’ve always gotten a positive vibe about how the other Veterans are treated. The Audiologist, Dr Doepping, is excellent: technically savvy, and very concerned about her patients (I’m friends with several of her other patients, and we all agree on this). This is a model health care clinic.

I went to the emergency room at this location, and I saw about 6 different medical-team personnel, each with a different role to help with my issue, and I appreciate every single one of them, from the check-in staff, to the ultrasound tech. They all were professional, respectful, knowledgeable, and listened to my concerns. I left satisfied with the service and quality of care they provided. To add, there are 3 hospitals within a 15-mile radius of my home that I refused to visit because they each have 2-star ratings. This hospital is over 40 miles from where I live, and I did not mind the drive because they lived up to their 4-star rating.

If you read negative reviews, take them with a grain of salt—recovery requires rules, and the structure they provide is the reality check most of us desperately need.
