My journey started there. Many great counselors. A couple of them really should find another career, but nobody is perfect. I still believe they do there best. I urge anyone who is in need of help to call. I am very grateful to them. Addiction is fatal when untreated. The good news is early recovery is temporary as well as painful. Thank you

I would like to thank Desiree Garland a kind, patient sonographer at the ER at VHC . She took her time and was patient with me during my test. Ultra sounds on your legs at least for me hurt very badly. But she took the time to press gently and thoughtfully. I was scared to come back as last time I was screaming in pain from the last sonographer so I wanted to point out I had a great experience this time around. Which shows that Desiree is experienced but most importantly cared for her patient/me. So thank you Desire! Also Dr Sverha in the ER was very nice and answered all my questions.

Dear Administrator: Please kindly recognize the outstanding and exemplary service provided by your outpatient lab employee/technician Leslie at the main outpatient lab who has repeatedly provided exceptional service and so accommodating when performing her duties especially since I have special needs. The care team assigned to my father’s care the day shift & night shift staffs are very quick to respond, whenever the bed alarm goes off in couple seconds the staffs are there to make sure that my father is alright the team work is awesome, both of them when they arrived gloves on already swiftly assitsing me while I’m assisting my dather as well. I have been going to this clinic for 9 years, and have always been treated very well— like I hope all Veterans would be. When I sit in the waiting room before an appointment, I’ve always gotten a positive vibe about how the other Veterans are treated. The Audiologist, Dr Doepping, is excellent: technically savvy, and very concerned about her patients (I’m friends with several of her other patients, and we all agree on this). This is a model health care clinic.

There’s a sense that people are visible, supported, and part of something shared—whether that’s during structured programming or more informal moments of social connection. Came to the site to do a tour of the facility. Met the clinical director for the tour, would have given 5 stars but the front desk area was very messy and had a strange odor. This should be addressed soon since it is the first thing you see as you enter.

Would HIGHLY recommend exploring treatment options with Kolmac if you’re ready to step into your recovery. ❤️‍🩹 I completed the 90(ish) day IOP program attending online group sessions three times a week for three hours in addition to individual medical appts/medication management and individual treatment plan planning. I had the incredible pleasure of working with Lisa S as my group counselor. She was professional, compassionate and understanding of the needs of her group members. She maintained a healthy and safe environment for us to all lean into the process at our own pace and found ways to relate to everyone regardless of situation. My medical/medication management was also all handled via telehealth. I felt heard when discussing my apprehension to some medications and was made to feel like the process to improve my health and the decisions being made around it were collaborative. Katelyn was my individual counselor and assisted me with developing my treatment plan. She is an absolute sweetheart and though early in her career was able to provide guidance and encouragement that felt beyond her years. I am actively transitioning to their continuing care program and look forward to seeing how far I can go with such a strong team behind me. 97 days!!!

My Aunt Betty last has lived at Record Street Home, an assisted living facility, for 3 years. She says that the nurses treat her like they are her best friend and the same caring and respect as a caring mother. If you are looking for a home, this is great place to come. You never have to worry about moving. They take care of any stepped care, including memory or medical care. She recently came out of the hospital after a heart attack and they nursed back to simply managed care.

Excellent!!! I could not have been in a better recovery treatment facility. With apprehension upon admission, that feeling left as soon as I walked in the door. The really take their time with you, and help you through every lesson. I met the most amazing staff members, who treat you with dignity, and compassion. I have taken several program participants to various medical and mental health appointments over the years both in Virginia and in Maryland and was hands down super impressed with the staff at the CSB juvenile, adult, and emergency services. There was quite a wait for emergency services but each department communicated with each other and was so polite. Brian Stewart is one of the few names that we caught but he was phenomenal. The staff checked on us, fed us, and gave us blankets. We saw them touching base with some individuals who were clearly in crisis and they were just so patient and caring. Dr. Smith was our emergency services doc and I wish he could see people regularly because he was funny and he made my program participant feel heard. I have been with an individual to the primary care as well and enjoyed the collaboration with DO Pristell.

An excellent house to go if you're in need of mental health care. Unlike going to a hospital psyche ward, where the nurses are just waiting for their shift to end and the doctor talks to you quickly and writes some prescriptions and rushes you out to see the next patient, the entire staff focuses on you. From the doctor, to the counselors and even the cooking staff, they focus on every patient as an individual and get deeply involved in your case. A very warm, cozy, welcoming environment, nice rooms and bathrooms, and excellent food. It's like a second home you can collect yourself and gather your thoughts and prepare for the outside world again. I highly recommend.

A real life saver. I have PTSD, amongst other things, and the folks here helped me learn how to survive with it. One staff member helped me through one of the worst flashbacks I have ever suffered. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, there is no shame in letting someone save you.

The house that is associated with this property is a great place to go if you're in need of emergency mental health care and assistance from substance abuse. They do not offer detox specifically but if you're doing a detox, they are able to support with their varied staff of psychiatrists, PRN, nurses, and psychologists as well as peer support specialists. I wouldn't have made it to today as psychologically intact as I am without them! My issues were: they cannot always accommodate a vegetarian or vegan diet & the nightly bed checks require some disturbance if you're a light sleeper. They offer ear plugs but you may want to bring a sleep mask to get your best rest. They are genuinely caring people and I highly recommend!
