Since moving to Colorado I have received the worst healthcare in my life, the VA in Richmond, VA is also horrible, this VA did everything possible for me some appointments were a little far out but the level of care that I have received here compared to other VAs is in a class of its own. Had two knee Surgeries and Dr. Rankin is the best, the anesthesiologist I forget his name but for my first knee surgery he has been by far the best out of the four I've had.

These people are absolutely amazing. If you are fresh out of prison or jail and you need some assistance these guys are the place to go. They will help you find a job and get all your credentials like your ID and birth certificate. There is a lady there named Miss Quincy. She will go out of her way to help you in any way she can. So I highly recommend checking these guys out if you're really trying to get on your feet.

The team members at the Max Robinson Center - everyone from the receptionists, to the nurses, and the doctors - are extremely kind, efficient, and thoughtful. I had an appointment with DO Drew Martin. He listened to me intently, and went above and beyond to make sure I have the resources I needed to fix my medical issue. I have been going weekly to the Medstar Health Physical Therapy at Ballston-Marymount for several issues, including my shoulder and hips. Recovery went well. The exercises are interesting, about the right level for my fitness and physical state, and they seem to be working. I appreciate the flexibility of the staff in scheduling, and the creative program the physical therapists designed to accommodate my changing physical status.

The very first thing that impressed me was professionalism coupled with personal care and attention to details. My pain reduced from 10 to 4 after one sitting. Retired HCP and Florida resident so I know BS when I see it. And it is rampant in Florida where the statute of limitations is longer than the life expectancy. I’m so blessed to have suffered my eighth and last bout of diverticulitis here in DC. The care here is exceptional. For real. Dr Uttapathi elicited an exhaustive PMH relative to prior abdominal and pelvic surgeries and conditions. Decided an MRI would be needed to identify any abnormalities. Sure enough my left ovary was glued to my colon. So a gyn surgeon, Dr Staple, was on standby to assist in removal of lady bits. The providers here are a cut above. The decision making exceptional. Actual in house care is remarkable. The anesthesiologist reviewed my TGH history in MyChart in seconds, gleaning more info than the h&p preop done by an outpatient provider, a doctor who is new to me. So I am whole heartedly endorsing MyChart as well. On to postoperative care. Of course I spent the entire day and evening after surgery throwing up. I really need to find out what anesthetic I got as this never happened before. Luck of the draw I guess. Emmanuel my nurse was extraordinary. Absolutely extraordinary. In between episodes of nausea that night, he got me out of bed and walking. I had no idea that ice packs on the incisional area reduced pain and he made sure I was medicated and comfortable. Emmanuel got me through those first two nights. Thank you. On my third night Apollo was very attentive and caring. No arguing about opoid analgesic with him or any of the staff. Retained CO2 is quite painful, you have to move to get the gas reabsorbed, dilaudid allowed me to do that. And at midnight before discharge I ‘graduated’ from that horrible pain and declined further meds. Mary cared for me on day shift. Another no nonsense angel. Positivity is contagious and she exudes positivity. I needed a new IV, was terrified as I’d had bad experiences despite having great veins in the past. The IV was in before I could muster a panic attack. I noticed ‘difficult IV’ badges on select staff- that’s a wonderful idea to thoroughly train in venipuncture. She was wonderful. The customer service training here works- hats off to HR. So on to the absolute most bestest, memorable part of my stay: the food. Thai broth is magic for someone with anorexia and pervasive nausea on a clear liquid diet. When finally advanced to low residue I especially savored the egg white omelet with cheese. Still craving one. It wasn’t hospital food. All the food excellent: the flavors, textures, mouth feel coaxed me back to the world of eating again. Food is delivered warm too, never soggy. Of course the building is quiet, subdued with a resort spa like atmosphere. I watched the sunset every night and meditated on the green roofs. This should be it. I hope to never get sick again and want to hike the Camino de Santiago this spring. I’m feeling blessed and optimistic despite knowing about the post op highs and lows I used to counsel my patients was possible. Thank you

I had my second baby at Sibley Memorial Hospital last week, and I felt it was worth sharing my experience. As a healthcare provider with over 15 years in the field, I can confidently say this was exceptional care from start to finish. It began with my follow-ups with MFM Dr. Christopher Novak, whose knowledgeable and professional attitude reassured me throughout my high-risk pregnancy journey. He addressed all my concerns efficiently and thoroughly. Next, my OB/GYN, Dr. Mariam Gomaa, whose warm, caring attitude toward her patients and unwavering support during delivery made me feel safe and cared for every step of the way. The nursing teams in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum Care were outstanding, with seamless sign-offs and handovers between shifts that ensured no information or concerns were ever missed. Many thanks to the nurses, especially Sarah and Nian from Labor & Delivery, Shannon, and the nurse who cared for my baby (I unfortunately didn’t catch her name, as I was under the effects of sedation and an epidural at the time). I’d also like to thank the anesthesia team and their leader, Dr. Raissa Quezado Da Nobrega, who was always promptly available whenever I needed her. During my stay, I experienced an additional complication, which the team handled efficiently through excellent coordination with other departments. My discharge day I was feeling great and well rested compared to my first pregnancy and that was a huge indication that I had an excellent experience that worth sharing!

The Palisades Men's House and all of its staff cared for a loved one during a difficult time. Christian, Anthony, Sam, and the staff at Verve Behavioral Health have played a large role in their healing process, and we are immensely thankful.
