There are so many great things I could list about this place. The staff were knowledgeable, compassionate, friendly and MOST of all: EXTREMELY accommodating and understanding with requests. The house was located in a quiet and peaceful residential neighborhood with absolute stunning views overlooking the ocean. The fun activities and experiences/outings were extremely helpful coping skills for my mental health and cravings.At Laguna View Detox it is evident that the staff care about you from the time you walk in the front door.I would like to point out that while this experience was amazing, there are a couple of things I would like to point out as areas for growth and improvement.1. Food - the food was sub-par in my humble opinion. While they do cater to dietary restrictions and allergies, there were many occasions that felt like the same food was repetitive, less-healthy, and lacked the right amount to serve everyone to their satisfaction.It would have been nice to maybe have the option for meal prep or an activity cooking course to teach people the skill and value in cooking together as well as considering a part-time chef position to develop those skills in staff and clients alike.2. Staff/clients - While 90% of the staff/clients were absolutely amazing, there were a couple that maybe could ve brought more value to the table or fulfilled their duties so others wouldn t have to suffer the consequences. It s not fair nor realistic to expect perfection from everyone but it is possible to differentiate those that are there to just collect a paycheck or take advantage of the care the system provides.These problems will undoubtedly always arise in every work environment and company alike thus should be expected time to time. The higher management can hopefully take more proactive measures to prevent the house becoming a toxic environment as well as addressing the problems at the core of the individuals.Once again I would highly recommend this place to anyone seriously committed to attaining a peaceful and healthy life of sobriety. I called the number on their webpage in the early morning on a Sunday and their director of intake, T.J. answered . He listened to me try to explain the nightmare I m living in with my son and he made me feel so much more calm and I felt as if I was talking to a friend or family. It was amazing. He found my son a place in their facility right away and explained the process and what to expect, even sharing his own experiences. I have never dealt with this before so I had a lot of catching up to do and I was literally in the midst of a serious crisis with my son which is already enough. I don t think I could ve handled this situation without the patience and support everyone at Laguna Detox but especially T.J. offered me. Unfortunately our insurance declined us in the 11th hour which was petrifying, but TJ called me himself and gave me a handful of alternative places and helped me call them and check for availability. What a difference that made. TJ ended up finding the best alternative in our area and hours later I had my son in their care and he s getting the attention and care he deserves and I can finally take a deep sigh of relief. TJ reached out throughout the entire process giving us his support and care and even checked in a couple days into my sons treatment to see how we were doing. I would not listen to any of the negative reviews that I noticed on here. You have to come to the program with a willingness to change in order to get the wonderful treatment offered. The staff is amazing and has every clients health, integrity, and safety in their minds and care. The team is wonderful. As long as you want to change your life, you have to give in to some of the hard things that are required. 30 day residential for me was a blessing, and I am applying Friday to go back for the PHP and IOP programs. The staff and owners expectations of you are not hard to manage if you put your mind to your treatment. The classes are eye opening, especially the Behavioral Health and Brain studies reviews. It helps you to understand your disease and how to manage it. Taking your life seriously includes steps that are mind challenging. I completely loved my experience, was cared for, taken to a Doctor when it was needed, provided excellent meals, comfort during my stay, clothing, and other items I was lacking. They provide all hygiene products that are required. The extra classes and options for success are endless! They even go out of their way to provide you excellent transportation to and from the facility if you communicate with the admissions staff. Sabrina provides my favorite classes! The art and especially the vages nerve classes she gave were so helpful in reopening my creative side and mind/body regulation again. I have stayed sober outside of the program, and I would suggest this resource and program to anyone who wants to change their life, live drug and alcohol free, and start over! They do not judge your past and many of the staff and counselors know first hand what you are going through. They do not take a high and mighty pose, instead they let you understand and share their stories of failures and successes to help you see you can overcome anything! They have encouraged me in ways I didn't even know was possible! I wish I would have found FBTS many years ago, as it would have saved me from a lot of rollercoaster setbacks with my alcoholism. Put your mind and body back together in a wonderful setting. The property is an old beach resort and truly has a light hearted spiritual surrounding of nature and many blessings if you just open your heart and mind to the great experience you will have. The meals provided are another high review from me. The kitchen staff is great, breakfast, lunch and dinner has many options, the menu is changed daily. Always salads available. Two refrigerators stocked with goods and left overs from previous meals to be eaten at any time. Full granola and cereal bar, many snacks, tea, juice machine and ice always ready. Some of the best food I have had in years, honestly high restaurant quality. The walking track, pickleball, and men and women's lounge areas are where you can watch some TV or get some extra time with the friends you make there. You have expectations in this program and that is no different from any other situation in life. Give it a chance, change your life, get healthier while doing so. Also, when you get towards the end of your stay, if you re feeling not quite ready to leave, you can ask for extension(s) too. This place is really about their patients, as groups tend to be no bigger than 6-12 people, so, plenty of questions to be asked, searched for, & answered!!! It was well organized and they knew what every individual needed to be successful on this journey of recovery. The staff was really nice and took care of all my needs. I felt welcomed and supported by the staff. The counselors were compassionate, knowledgeable and truly dedicated to providing individualized help that addressed my needs. The program is structured similar to other PHP programs, providing a mix of group sessions and individualized therapy. The group sessions taught helpful skills, included some yoga, topic presentations, and allowed me to connect with others who were going through similar experiences. The individual and family sessions were where I felt Crestview really shined, providing individualized care that helped me get back on my feet, functioning and happy again. What Are First Choice Health Plans?

First Choice doesn’t offer insurance plans directly — they help self funded employers offer insurance to employees by offering access to high quality medical networks and other services.

First Choice Health has a PPO network that has over 120,000 providers that represent all medical specialties. The network extends through 11 states: Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Nebraska, and both Dakotas. The company helps employers with cost and medical management.

They also have health plan administration services to help employers manage their health plan and effectively offer insurance to employees. They can offer third party claims administration and cost containment along with data analysis.

Finally there are some specialty services available from First Choice Health. These include a clinically integrated network that can add support that traditional care team can’t. This can be helpful in complex healthcare situations and provides coordination between multiple facilities.

First Choice Health also connects employers to behavioral health services. This includes addiction treatment and mental healthcare. They provide a directory of in network providers to encourage members to stay in the network and they also have a behavioral health program with case managers for specific diagnoses so members have someone to guide them through the process of getting high quality care.

What Inpatient Addiction Treatment Does First Choice Cover?

While self funded plans are not required to cover addiction treatment under the Affordable Care Act many still will.

If you need help in a residential facility your provider may rely on the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) assessment to determine if you meet certain criteria.

What Outpatient Rehab Does First Choice Cover?

Outpatient treatment looks different for everyone. It is ideal for those with family or work obligations because you are at home outside of treatment sessions. Treatment consists of education and individual counseling along with group therapy. You’ll also have monitoring and help with relapse prevention.

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a day outpatient treatment. You spend your day in an intensive structured recovery program but you go home at night.

An intensive outpatient program (IOP) is another option and is ideal for those who need support after completing an inpatient program. It provides therapeutic processes for those who need support but you’re able to work the treatment around your work or school obligations.

How to Verify Coverage With First Choice
