Coming into Treehouse PDX I was missing the mental tools needed to treat my trauma that led to my drinking. I didn’t know how to cope and realized that I wasn’t like normal people who drink. I drank to fill a hole.
However with being in the PHP program, I got a lot of the help I was looking for. With great leadership and counseling they helped me get back to a place where I can heal. Where I can now use these tools and build a life that I can call healthy and be inspired by.
The house itself is a lot nicer than what I think people may expect. The Facility itself for me is great! (I don’t go to the gym so I don’t have much to compare to, so it feels top notch to ME). We work out for about 4 hours every weekday. Running, Yoga (aka “Joga”), MMA padwork, pickleball and more.
The counseling is amazing. The team definitely makes you feel like you’re getting 1 on 1 care, even considering the amount of clients they have.
This is my first and I believe last treatment center I will be attending. But I think this is the BEST. I’ve heard from other people in the sober community who have had more experience than I do and they never fail to tell me about what a privilege I have in being in Treehouse.
Thank you to Treehouse Staff, My Brothers and Team! I’m happy to say I’ve made lifelong connections while on this lifelong journey of healing.

My time at treehouse recovery changed my whole trajectory in life. It’s rare that anyone give themselves a chance to hit stop and spend 3 months dedicated to only growth and healing from the past. I will always look at treehouse as the pivotal point when I decided to do what I needed for myself. I can’t stress enough how amazing this program is. I have seen so many men come in different stages of spiritual decomposition and leave glowing and empowered with new purpose and strength. 100/10.

I absolutely love the staff at Spring Hill! The campus is gorgeous and healing. The ability to walk around and socialize in an open space is wonderful. I really felt cared for by the clinicians, case managers, nurses and RSes.
CORPORATE, however is obviously very greedy unfortunately. You are a number to them. It’s a common problem but something you should know. Do not listen to promises of recruiters, there are many things said to try to get you signed up (commission) that are untrue (ex/ pool, trails, what you can bring or not etc)
Know your rights. If you are sent for detox at BEDROCK, DO NOT LET THEM TALK YOU INTO STAYING. Go to Spring Hill and don’t waver

Didn’t want to attend the PHP program at the Plymouth house for my issues with Alcohol but I am beyond thankful that I did. The community here has helped me grow in the two months I’ve been there and taught me skills I will continue to practice in my sobriety. It’s isn’t always a walk in the park but if you need help why not try it, only positives can come from it.

Completing the Residential and PHP program at the Plymouth House was the best decision I made for my recovery. The groups offered take a deep dive into effective means of recovery that I benefit from daily. The staff went above and beyond, the facility itself is kept in great condition, and the food was amazing. I am very thankful to have had the experience I did from The Plymouth House.

The nutritionist there is HORRIBLE. I personally am lactose intolerant and when I was admitted my liver was bad, so I needed a diet tailored to helping me recover. She told me if I can’t find anything to just eat from the salad bar. I stood my ground and she let the kitchen staff know I was lactose intolerant and couldn’t eat fried stuff but that is ridiculous I should not have to argue with her. Then my roommate had ARFID so she needed dietary help, and the nutritionist told her to eat bread. That’s a sad and pathetic excuse for a nutritionist. Staffs great but they should certainly fire her.

Very caring staff and a very welcoming environment. Food is very good. Could not have gotta sober or gotten through withdrawals with out coming here. If you or a loved one are struggling this is the best program I have ever attend. It saved my life!

My son has been working with Morris, a Recovery Coach at Mountainside for the past eight months and the experience has been exceptional for us both! Morris truly understands how to support recovery in a real world, day to day way.
The coaching goes further than check-ins. It includes accountability, life skills, emotional support, and sometimes honest hard conversations. My son has learned how to manage challenges, make healthier choices and is learning how to stay focused on his long-term goals. The progress he’s made has been remarkable and I credit much of that to the consistent well informed coaching he receives.
Not only does Morris provide coaching to my son, his expertise extends to me as well. He is highly responsive and always follows through.
Mountainside’s Recovery coaching is more than a service. It feels like it’s a true partnership. As a mom navigating this process, I am grateful for the guidance, structure, the encouragement and situational advice Morris provides. However Beacon/Carelon doesn’t decide the actual cover levels — the insurance plans do. So it’s important to understand the details of your insurance coverage even if you see Beacon/Carelon as your behavioral health provider.
All health insurance plans focus on covering medically necessary care so you’ll want to start by working with your doctor to create a treatment plan for your substance use recovery. What Inpatient Addiction Treatment Does Beacon Health Options Cover?
Beacon Health/Carelon can connect you with inpatient addiction treatment programs through various insurance companies. However, Beacon Health/Carelon doesn’t control the coverage levels or requirements of your plan so be sure to review your plan before you start rehab.
While most plans cover medically necessary inpatient care, coverage levels will vary. You’ll want to work with your doctor to get a treatment plan that will show what’s medically necessary in your case. Your doctor may do an ASAM assessment to determine the level of care you need.
The most common inpatient care includes medical detox and inpatient or residential care. Medical detox provides medical oversight to help you manage withdrawal symptoms during detox. Residential care allows you to focus on recovery without distractions.
What Outpatient Rehab Does Beacon Health Options Cover?
Several different treatment options for outpatient rehab are available through Beacon Health/Carelon. Outpatient rehab may involve individual, group, or family therapy sessions, either in person or virtual.
Partial hospitalization programs (PHP) offer the most intensive outpatient rehab and usually require you to spend several hours a day in a treatment center five to seven days a week. Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) involve therapy sessions for nine to 19 hours per week. As you proceed along the path to recovery, you’ll transition to general outpatient treatment, attending counseling sessions once or twice a week.

Does Beacon Health Options Cover Methadone & Suboxone (MAT)?
Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) combines counseling with medications like methadone and Suboxone to treat opioid and alcohol addiction. MAT can be used during medical detox to manage withdrawal symptoms and during longer-term treatment to help you stay stable during rehab.
Changing Pathways is Beacon Health/Carelon’s MAT program for treating opioid addiction. It uses medication along with peer support, education, and quality management assistance.
Does Beacon Health Options Cover Other Mental Healthcare?
Many insurance plans cover mental health as required by ACA but it’s still important to check your plan for specific coverage. Beacon Health/Carelon helps health insurance plans offer options for treating addiction and other mental health issues but it doesn’t determine coverage limits.
Mental health coverage allows you to get counseling for mental health disorders like anxiety and depression along with bipolar disorder and other diagnoses.
Underlying mental health concerns often accompany substance use disorders, so it’s important to address these co-occurring disorders along with addiction for you to be successful in your long term recovery.
How Long Will Beacon Health Options Cover Rehab?
Your specific insurance plan determines the length of rehab treatment, not Beacon Health/Carelon. Addiction treatment can be a long process and it’s essential to embrace the process and complete all the steps along the way. The length of your rehab depends on your individual needs.
Inpatient or residential treatment can range from one to three months. Outpatient programs are about 10 to 12 weeks but can be shorter or longer, depending on your needs.
Does Addiction Treatment Need to Be In Network?
Many insurance plans require you to use in-network providers to get coverage. If out-of-network providers are covered, you will pay a much higher cost in deductibles and copayments.
To get the most out of your insurance coverage for addiction treatment, it’s best to stay in-network if possible. Review your insurance plan to determine your exact coverage before using a non-network provider.
How to Verify Coverage With Beacon Health Options
