The staff and provider here made my stay bearable and successful. Dr. Sierzenski, Samantha BHT, Derrick RN, Stephanie RN, Veronica BHT, Ingrid RN, Gabby BHT, Tanisha RN, and all of them! They were attentive, compassionate, helpful, professional, but most of all... they were kind to me when I was in a very dark place and a world of hurt. I did not ask for this to happen, but I am eternally grateful for the safety net Gallus provided me. I am 30 days sober because of you. And me. And the universe. Please keep saving souls, one person at a time. We need all the help we can get. Never, lose sight of why you signed up for this job! You all can mark one more life saved today. Thank you.

These people are the most caring attentive people and I was not once uncomfortable during my stay. Please please if you need help, call them. I promise you will get it. S........just thank you thank you thank you. All the beautiful tech girls too. You all helped save my life in more ways than you know.

Accepted Insurance

Gallus Detox Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

12-step icon12-Step

Many addiction recovery centers base their treatment modalities on the 12 step program model, and those in treatment often transition to community-based programs. These programs can also be effective for clients who choose not to enter rehab. Traditionally, 12 step meetings are designed to provide intensive peer support whenever it is needed. In addition to group meetings and peer sponsorship, participants "work the steps" to achieve recovery through a systematic healing of the mind, body, and spirit.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

The initial phase of recovery treatment typically includes 24-hour clinical care in Arizona. This constant supervision ensures a safe detox process, which helps the individual physically stabilize from substance use. Patients will receive medications to curb withdrawal symptoms and cravings, as well as other necessary medical treatment. This period typically lasts up to a week, then the individual will receive medical clearance to begin inpatient or outpatient rehab.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Arizona is the process of treating individuals who are dependent on a particular addictive drug. Because addiction is complex, this treatment typically includes a variety of interventions that address the many physical and emotional issues involved.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image

LGBTQ Program

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
military-program thumbnail image

Military Program

Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

This was my first experience at a detox center, and I am very grateful to have found Gallus. The staff was all very kind and accommodating, making what was not a particularly enjoyable experience much more comfortable. Alli was my case manager, and she did an incredible job supporting me. She was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and understanding. She truly had my best interests at heart and has since checked in on me even after I am no longer at Gallus. The staff at this facility genuinely cares about the people who come in seeking help for substance abuse. Not to mention, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the rooms were clean and well-maintained. I hope to never end up at another detox center, but this would be the only one I would be willing to go to.

Response from the owner
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us Megan. We are incredibly honored to have been part of your journey. Detox is never easy, and your courage in facing it head-on truly inspires us.

It means the world to hear that you felt supported, comfortable, and genuinely cared for during your stay. Alli is an exceptional part of our team, and we’re so glad her compassion and dedication made a lasting impact. We’ll be sure to pass along your kind words to her—she’ll be touched to know she made a difference.

From our clinical care to the small comforts like a clean space and a good bed, everything we do at Gallus is with our patients’ healing and dignity in mind. Thank you for trusting us during such an important time in your life. We’re cheering you on always, and if you ever need us again, know that you’ll be welcomed back with the same care and compassion.

Wishing you continued strength and healing ahead.

I have been to rehab 30 years ago. Typical story clean for 7 had surgery and liked the pain meds. Started street Fentanyl 10 years ago! Tens of thousands of pills and still here. Tried on my own only to fail. Decided I needed Detox and spoke with a few. The reviews and especially for Fentanyl and their protocol sold me. I CAN NOT STRESS HOW AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING MY EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN! Every Nurse and every tech are so caring and here for you. I could have caffeine which I need, smoke at will which I need as well but the most shocking, your phone and computer! I had 36 hours of discomfort and the Nurses would not leave my side and the doc took a call about me at 12:30 AM !! Yes you read that right, the nurse called a man in bed at home with his family about me and he took the call and gave more advice. I can not say enough about all and Gallus..small.only 7 patients if full and thats rare. Clean private rooms, vitals every four hours and protocal meds as needed. Life saving. Call or email Sandra and get your ass to the best GALLUS DETOX! JOE B

Gallus Medical is a really great detox facility, from the beginning, the staff was very welcoming and professional. One nurse, Ingrid, truly stood out. She went above and beyond in every aspect of my care, and I cannot thank her enough. The care I received under her watch was phenomenal, and she truly enhanced Gallus Medical's reputation. While all staff members were kind and helpful, it was Ingrid's support that really made a difference. The facility itself is comfortable. Each patient gets a private room with a large bed and TV, and you can keep your electronics and wear your own clothes. There is a balcony for smoking you can use whenever. The detox process for Fentanyl was the best I’ve ever gone through. Gallus uses a micro induction method, combining small amounts of subutex with opiates, which gradually lowers the opiates while increasing the subutex. I live about an hour away from the facility, so I was essentially told to figure aftercare out on my own once I left. After paying a substantial amount for the program, I truly believe this is an area where Gallus dropped the ball, especially considering their emphasis on aftercare during the intake process. But I guess that is because this is strictly a detox facility, once the drugs are out of your system your on your own. I called 10 days after leaving asking for help however I was more or less on my own, not something most detox facilities do, aftercare is usually super important. So 4 stars if we include aftercare however 5 stars for the facility, staff, and detox protocol.

Response from the owner
Amber, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We truly appreciate your feedback. We take great pride in providing care with dignity, empathy, and respect. We’re sorry to hear about your experience with aftercare. To improve this process, we’ve recently hired a clinical case manager to oversee all aftercare planning, as we want to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. If you’re still having difficulty finding aftercare, please don’t hesitate to call us, and we’ll be happy to assist you.

I want to give a special shoutout to Ingrid—she's a gem! Her genuine care for people is evident in her warm demeanor. Dr. S is also exceptional; he is thorough, caring, and incredibly intelligent.
