I thought The counseling cast of employees were really good teachers, guides for acknowledging that life is best while sober. I think that The WESTCARE program is an awesome way to get a clean start back to the life of Joy and great health. LEO , who is I believe still in charge of organizing and scheduling everything for the Men in the program. Leo is a TRULY amazing man that has been through it all with substance addiction. I remember he showed us while he lived in LA he was on the News for when he hit rock bottom. But teaching us how to be better Men mentally, physically and emotionally!. He said something I will never forget... He said everyone attempts to quit multiple times. But when you are truly ready is when you have reached total exhaustion. Tired of the every day struggles. Tired of being on the top bunk in jail and having the bright lights from the ceiling blasting in your face. You can't turn those off but instead have to consistently be bothered by them. Leo is the best mentor, counselor, teacher that a program could have. I always had the UP most respect for him and what ALL he brings to that program. My last interaction with him was when we won our last basketball game. Mike Richie was one of the more memorable councilors with his 4:30 a.m. formation call-out in the freezing weather just to tell you how great the weather is in the Bahamas. It's one of the most peaceful and beautiful places I've ever been to. I made a whole lot of great memories and friends up there. And would go back every summer to beat this Vegas heat and for the peace of mind this wonderful place on earth gives you. This is a beautiful, state-of-the-art hospital with so many helpful volunteers and staff. Like my last visit, I was quickly taken care of when I arrived and within five minutes, I headed back to Dr. Dunn’s office. The staff here in the general surgery section are fantastic, super friendly and true professionals. The minor surgical procedure was completed in no time, and I was out of the hospital in under one hour. There is also a food court on the first floor near the east entrance and the only complaint I have is with the parking lot – what a zoo. To Dr. Dunn and the entire staff, I met today, thank you and thank you for your service to us veterans. I stayed with Luxe for 40+ days and i can only say good things. The director and therapist(s) are experienced and actually care. The techs are awesome. The nurses and doctors are all amazing and provided me with some of the best healthcare I’ve experienced. A lot of the staff is in recovery also with lots of clean time. I attended Harris Springs Ranch / WESTCARE on the mountain towards the beginning 2018! I became The Camp Supervisor. Also getting Voted for a second term filling that position back to back . Total time a little over 3 months! I remember a great bunch of guy's that I considered close friend's. Melvin,Josh, Gabe,Danny , Mo. Just to name a few. I thought The counseling cast of employees were really good teachers, guides for acknowledging that life is best while sober. I think that The WESTCARE program is an awesome way to get a clean start back to the life of Joy and great health. LEO , who is I believe still in charge of organizing and scheduling everything for the Men in the program. Leo is a TRULY amazing man that has been through it all with substance addiction. I remember he showed us while he lived in LA he was on the News for when he hit rock bottom. But teaching us how to be better Men mentally, physically and emotionally!. He said something I will never forget... He said everyone attempts to quit multiple times. But when you are truly ready is when you have reached total exhaustion. Tired of the every day struggles. Tired of being on the top bunk in jail and having the bright lights from the ceiling blasting in your face. You can't turn those off but instead have to consistently be bothered by them. Leo is the best mentor, counselor, teacher that a program could have. I always had the UP most respect for him and what ALL he brings to that program. My last interaction with him was when we won our last basketball game. Took the Rock in December of 2005. Mike Richie was one of the more memorable councilors with his 4:30 a.m. formation call-out in the freezing weather just to tell you how great the weather is in the Bahamas. It's one of the most peaceful and beautiful places I've ever been to. I made a whole lot of great memories and friends up there. And would go back every summer to beat this Vegas heat and for the peace of mind this wonderful place on earth gives you. I fought my addiction and alcoholism for over 35 yrs. Thanks to West Cares staff, programs, and counselors I finally found relief from the insanity and chaos that has been my life. They went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and felt welcomed throughout my visit. You can tell they genuinely care about their patients and aren’t just waiting for time to pass. The nursing staff were incredibly qualified and professional, which gave me confidence in the level of care provided here. What really stood out to me was how personal and flexible everything felt. I returned today for a minor surgical operation and once again I was blown away by the outstanding service I received. This is a beautiful, state-of-the-art hospital with so many helpful volunteers and staff. Like my last visit, I was quickly taken care of when I arrived and within five minutes, I headed back to Dr. Dunn’s office. The staff here in the general surgery section are fantastic, super friendly and true professionals. The minor surgical procedure was completed in no time, and I was out of the hospital in under one hour. There is also a food court on the first floor near the east entrance and the only complaint I have is with the parking lot – what a zoo. To Dr. Dunn and the entire staff, I met today, thank you and thank you for your service to us veterans.

My wife has been there for 4 months and treated very well. Since I live in Elko Nevada some 5and half hours away and live at an assisted living, we talk by phone. I have never heard her complain about her care. Staff have been kind and genuine about her. The biggest problem as been were to place her,and insurance which we have clear up. My opinion is this a hospital I can trust!

This is a great facility and the people I interacted with are even better. Specifically I'd like to mention Sandy and Tiffany. Sandy was always extremely professional and cordial with me. Always asked how I was and expressed genuine concern for everyone. To say that Tiffany is an excellent counselor would be an understatement. She takes the extra initiative to help her clients grow. Tiffant listened to all my needs and created a treatment plan tailored to my needs and aligned with the most current clinical methodology. People like this help you navigate through life and I am blessed to have participated and connected with people of this caliber. Thank you.

FFR has literally changed my entire life in the present moment and has given me a future that wasn't available to me before. I recently had a stay at Desert Parkway 700 unit, and I’m incredibly grateful for the care I received — especially from the nursing staff member Flye and the technician Kiven. From the very beginning, Flye showed genuine compassion and professionalism. She took the time to listen without judgment, made sure I understood my care plan, and consistently checked in on how I was feeling. Her calm presence and reassuring attitude made a difficult time feel much more manageable. It was clear that she truly cares about her patients and takes pride in providing thoughtful, respectful support. I also want to recognize something truly unique about Kiven — he’s a social butterfly in the very best sense of the word. His outgoing, approachable nature brought an incredible amount of positive energy to the 700 unit. He has a natural gift for connecting with people, whether through lighthearted conversations, thoughtful check-ins, or even a simple smile while passing by. He makes everyone feel seen. Truly, Kiven deserves a pay raise for how exceptional he is at what he does. He doesn’t just clock in and complete tasks — he takes ownership of his role. He shows up with intention, supports patients without hesitation, and helps create an atmosphere of safety and stability. His upbeat personality, combined with his steady and confident presence, makes people feel both protected and genuinely understood. Team members like Kiven are the foundation of a strong mental health facility. His dedication, resilience, and authentic care for others do not go unnoticed. He absolutely deserves recognition — and a well-earned raise. Mental health treatment can be an overwhelming experience, but having staff members like Flye and Kiven made a meaningful difference in my recovery journey.
