About Desert Hope Treatment Center

Desert Hope operates on the belief that everyone who needs help should be able to receive it regardless of their situation. I like that they put this intro practice by providing every patient with a unique payment plan. They’ll accept most insurance providers, and they can also help you determine if you qualify for financing. They even offer flexible payment options based on your income level. And if you’re insured then your treatment might even be free.

One unique aspect that impressed me about this facility is they offer a 90 day promise to patients. The clinic guarantees that you’ll stay clean and sober after a 90 day program. If you relapse then you can return for a free 30 days of additional treatment.

Another great thing about this facility is that they have a lot of positive reviews from former patients. Program participants report great experiences overall.

I can honestly say even though this was my first time in recovery it was an incredible experience the staff were amazing and understanding which helped greatly with the process of healing I would recommend this place to anyone going through addiction looking for a safe place to not feel judged or belittled I would say don’t hold back and if your really looking to get sober they will help you get there an even when you feel like it’s to much remember what you do it for remember the losses and let it out and go this is the best place to do it and if you don’t believe me go check it out for yourself and they say they won’t hold you back from leaving but they’ll always be there when you decide it’s time and come back-Dejhon

Okay let's start with the beginning! Intake is great! They are respectful and friendly! The Ladies at the front are great upon intake. Now after a few days. They expect you to start going to groups which are four groups a day. Now this is where my issues arise. They give you a detox window which is great but I was told by my counselor one day that if I didn't start going to group everyday. That my electronics would be confiscated and that if I messed up again I would be kicked out of the program. On top of that I had some medical issues arise and when I took it to the nurses station I was pretty much ignored first. Second I was told and I quote "you are fine drink more water"! It seemed to me that to get anything actually done that you had to be a certain ethnic group to get it. Now the facility itself is clean the food is great. And I do understand that some people come in eat food sleep in the bed and then just go back out there that they're not really trying to see recovery. But what I think that this facility and most of these rehab centers don't get it's not everybody the same and they shouldn't treat everybody as the same. In some aspects well most aspects because it seems to me my observation was that certain ethnics were helped more than certain others. If you are a addict and are a first-time program cover I do recommend Desert Hope . But if you are an alcoholic or an addict that has made a relapse I do not recommend Desert Hope!

Accepted Insurance

Desert Hope Treatment Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

Inpatient rehab provides a highly structured and supportive environment for clients at an increased risk of relapse, including clients exiting detox, those in early recovery, and those experiencing crisis. Many inpatient treatment centers offer round-the-clock clinical care. Their principal treatment modality is usually psychotherapy, including individual, group, and family counseling. Clients may also participate in extensive life skills training to support their long-term sobriety. Some rehabs offer holistic therapies, including massage, meditation, and nutrition therapy.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Clients receiving services in a rehab aftercare program are typically in the maintenance phase of their recovery, having already completed intensive inpatient treatment. These clients are generally strongly engaged in addiction counseling and recovery-focused life skills training. Case managers and care teams work with clients to identify and access the medical, mental health, and social service programs they need to promote long-term sobriety. Rehab aftercare services often include peer coaching, relapse prevention, and 12 step program induction.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

Sober living homes in Nevada provides a place to stay where individuals in recovery have a supportive community to start a new life free from substances. While living in this type of setting, residents agree to abstain from substance use and participate in 12-step programs. Typically, each halfway house has set rules about individual chores, shared living areas, visitor hours, and curfew.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) provides short-term, intensive rehab for individuals that require intensive care but don't require it 24/7. PHP treatment offers structured programming, often involving a combination of individual and group therapy sessions. Typically, a partial hospitalization program meets for an average of 90 days with sessions taking place 3-5 days a week for a minimum of 20 hours. While some PHP treatment provides on-site accommodation, others allow you to return home.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

One of the top benefits of 24-hour clinical care in Nevada is the ability to safely withdraw from alcohol or drugs. This supervised setting lowers the risk of life-threatening complications that can occur as a result of withdrawal. Medical staff provide constant monitoring of your health, so you receive immediate treatment for any symptoms. This medically supervised detox is much safer and comfortable than trying to detox at home.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

When you enter drug rehab in Nevada, you receive professional assistance to remove drugs from your body and cease your body's need for the substance. You learn coping strategies and receive support to prevent relapse and enjoy long-term sobriety.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image

LGBTQ Program

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image

Military Program

Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy is implemented in the treatment plan to help regulate the client’s emotions and self-destructive actions. This type of therapy focuses on skill building and is customizable. DBT is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Whether participating in Intensive Outpatient (IOP) or Outpatient (OP) Program, clients will be assigned a primary therapist to work with while you’re in the program. Throughout the program stay, patients will meet regularly to discuss rehabilitation progress, recovery plan, aftercare goals, issues, and concerns.

Motivational Interviewing is used to assist the client in moving from an initial state of ambivalence towards readiness to change maladaptive addictive behaviors. MI is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves).

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Sessions for couples therapy may involve joint meetings with the counselor as well as individual sessions. Between sessions, both partners are asked to do "homework," which involves practicing the insights and behaviors they learned about during therapy.

EMDR is a therapeutic modality originally developed to help process trauma. In an EMDR session, a patient is prompted to undergo eye movements that mimic those of REM sleep. This is accomplished by watching a therapist's finger move back and forth across, or following a bar of light. The goal is repetitive sets of eye movements that help the brain reprocess memory, which can significantly reduce the intensity of remembered traumatic incidents. Associated memories can heal simultaneously, leaving patients significantly calmer, more stable, and more emotionally relaxed.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Developing life skills supports your social, psychological, and physical well being. These skills give you the ability to navigate the challenges you'll face in recovery. They include interpersonal skills, self awareness, and thinking skills.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Using recreational therapy in a holistic addiction treatment program allows you to find joy and purpose within healthy activities. You might engage in group games, arts and crafts, and fitness programs that promote relaxation and physical health. These are essential for long term recovery.

My name is Barry Love and my experience at Desert Hope was absolutely life-changing. I never thought a group of complete strangers could change the direction of my life so dramatically I had such a great experience at Desert Hope so many knowledgeable professionals that were on my side understood my story and helped me in anyway possible I have to say Miss Pinkerton was probably my favorite music therapy is always been my jam. As far as the attention that you get at this place, it’s the best I’ve ever experienced anywhere. They really care about the people they have in their facility and they really want to get everybody clean that goes in there. I absolutely love this place. I would love to go back to see everybody and tell them how great I’m doing on my journey and it all started with them. Thank you guys very much. I love all of you. Peace love positivity.

I went to this place twice a few years ago and it was a great place. The food is great, staff is amazing the rooms are like hotel rooms. If you are detoxing they make you feel comfortable and are very caring. I wish I could go back so bad as I'm back getting high. For some reason they don't take medicade anymore for impatient not sure why but it's really hot me upset cause I don't want to go to a psyc ward for detox cause that's all that's offered now if ur broke and on Medicaid. Hopefully something will change in the near future and I'm not dead yet and I can go there cause I'm really ready now. But I'll shut up cause I'm just dragging on now. So yes it's a awesome place and the people that get to go are in great hands at a great facility
