Molina Healthcare was founded in 1980 as Molina Medical Center. They were a primary care clinic that served communities in southern California. The organization was not licensed as a health plan until 1994.
Today they are a Fortune 500 company that offers healthcare services to roughly 5.1 million members. They provide Medicaid plans, Medicare options, and plans in the Health Insurance Marketplace in multiple states.
Molina benefits may include prescription drugs, telehealth, vision care for children and adults, and case management for members needing extra help organizing and managing their healthcare concerns. Members also have access to a Nurse Advice Line 24/7, staffed by nurses who can answer your medical questions.
Before admission into a drug addiction program, it is crucial to verify your insurance coverage. This ensures you are not surprised by healthcare bills.

I have been in the DARKEST place for so long. Symetria was my saving grace. My counselor Callie (my saving grace) showed me that I actually really do matter and gave me a sense of belonging for the FIRST time in my life! She truly cares and has helped me in so many ways that I can't thank her enough. If it weren't for her, I'm not sure where I'd be in life right now without her. Ms Callie, if you see this, thank you again. To all of the concerned mothers/fathers out there, I promise you, this is the best methadone clinic in the United States. Thank you for taking the time to read my comment, I promise I wouldn't steer you the wrong direction. <3 Please take into consideration coming to Symetria. I finally have hope.

I dropped my son off nine months ago at NSR. At that time, I didn’t realize how much of a codependency I had with my son. Even after dropping him off, I tried to stay involved in the day-to-day details which was the very reason I dropped him off in the first place. So i wouldn’t have to stay in the details and could focus on me. My advice is to let the process work. My son is now in a much better place and said this was the best decision he had ever made. I am also in a much better place and the Tuesday night parent calls are a must do for any one that has family in the program. NSR provides more freedom and flexibility in their program that a lot of other places did not. That was a deciding factor when I was initially looking for a place for my son to go. NSR has my vote. 👍

When I found next step recovery I was at my lowest, I had found my bottom. I had my mind made up that suicide was my only way out. Then I found next step, and my second chance at a better, clean and sober life. I've been in and out of rehabs and detoxes my whole life. But this facility was different. I was welcomed like I was family and I had come home. With the love and compassion, not judged, but given a real chance at a better life. I'm currently living in the sober living house, and unlike a lot of places. The houses are very nice, clean, and up to date homes fully furnished. The staff is excellent, and always available to help with anything I need. Today I feel like a better man, a better husband, a better father, and I owe it all to next step recovery.

So I just want to leave a review based on such a supportive experience with staff. My daughter has been struggling up an down and all around, n I still am working on her to finally surrender, but I want to give a review on Charles. Charles is amazing, he has called me at 10:30 pm he has dealt with many messages, many I think today might be the day and than not, everyone knows what I talk about if they are familiar with addicts and their thought process and fear. I pray my daughter will finally surrender before it's to late, everyone close to my daughters have been dying left n right and they have lost children due to addiction, my grandchildren are now adopted out, my heart melts in heartbreak and the pain the whole family goes through is endless. So I just want to give a shout out to the amazing team and all their work while not giving up on us. They keep going out of their way to help me Everytime I reach out. Great people! Thank you so much! The detox White dove is Amazing and so kind as well. They too have been along for the ride and so kind and go out of their way to help me in anyway or questions while we just waiting on my daughters surrender. Thank you!

I will forever be grateful for Wasatch Crest. They literally saved my life! They have done for me what I once believed was impossible. They gave me hope of a new life, free from substance abuse and relief from overbearing mental health issues. I personally want to thank both Jim and Nicolette Huffman for not only opening their doors to me within residential treatment, but also for believing in me and not giving up on me. They both really do care, are highly involved and truly develop love for each and every client who is fortunate to admit into the program. Wasatch Crest has one of the best clinical teams I have ever encountered, especially my therapist Rick Buxton CMHC. All of their staff was welcoming, helpful and professional. If you are looking for a residential treatment facility that is safe, filled with numerous therapeutic activities and specializes in trauma, Wasatch Crest is the place to get into. Thank you again for all this program has done for me.
Respectfully,

This was my first time in residential treatment. I’ve struggled with alcohol/addiction for the majority of my life. I found real help here (for my mental health as well). I found real people here. It was honestly some of the best weeks of my life.
If any of my family or friends are struggling with drinking/using I will refer them here. This is a special place. A place that fosters cultivation of real personal growth. I’m currently in their IOP program after graduating residential, and it’s excellent aftercare.
This place changed my life. Of course it came with challenges; but the environment, culture, and staff here are all great. I’m the one who had to commit to recovery, but this is the place to do it.

I am truly grateful for Springhill Recovery. Immediately I was made to feel at ease, safe & secure. I quickly realized that I was in competent, caring hands with all of the staff that I met.
I learned so much about myself here! I can see where I need to work on a few things and I now have some of the tools to do that, thanks to the amazing groups, clinicians, RS staff & case managers at Springhill.
I leave here confident in my sobriety & excited to continue my recovery program. I will seek connections with other people who are also in recovery because I’ve learned that absolutely nobody can do this alone!
Thank you Springhill Recovery for teaching me how to like myself again! I am forever grateful for the gift & privilege of my new life ahead of me.

I graduated from this program and went on to the Stepworks sober living and I now have 1 year clean. The therapists are probably the best part about the place, but all of the staff genuinely want to help you. It's in a very secluded place so it's nearly impossible to leave to use. Unlike most other places it's a big mansion with half the people upstairs and half downstairs. I stayed upstairs and the A/C was almost too good in the summer. It probably stayed 62 degrees up there. Would definitely recommend this if you are serious about getting sober.

Literally the best rehab center I’ve ever attended. Had intensive group therapy multiple times a day, and it help me with all my issues. They had a full blown gym, and I made actual brothers there. I would recommend this facility to ANYONE.

This place will forever have a special spot in my heart. The employees saved my life every single day for 30 days. The therapists are also something to not overlook, they go WAY above and beyond to educate what's really going on with our minds and body. I've been through 4 recovery centers, two in Kentucky one in California and then this one. This is the only one I can truly say that they take this lifestyle seriously and the presence of a higher power flows through every body in the house. I wouldn't recommend any other place. Thank you for everything staff! I won't forget a single one of you.

My experience has been impeccable.
They offer many groups and allow clients some options in choosing different group therapies in the afternoon. I was allowed to attended different 12 step meetings in the evening and encouraged to build my sober network.
The support from all staff members has been expressed with genuine love and kindness.
Lantana has a wonderful success rate and I believe this is do to the staff members who truly care about each individual client, providing care and compassion we need in such a difficult time.
There is a strong community here. You can find friends and mentorship as you go through the program with clients who are also seeking support.
Everyone’s experience is going to be different. Going through treatment can be challenging, many of us are learning a new way of life to find peace and serenity.
100% I recommend this program to those who are struggling and need some support.

If you or someone you know are thinking about going to a treatment center I’m happy to say the staff here have created something special. From the second I called I’ve been treated with love care and empathy by everyone at the facility. Even after completing the 28 program staff members like Joshua Haskiell reach out to check in on me regularly. They don’t make anymore money to do those things they are just genuinely good people with big hearts who have earned my trust. The main guy the director of operations Jacob May was there in the flesh 6 days a week with his door literally open all day. A man in his position doesn’t have to make your problems his problems but that’s exactly what he does for anyone needing help. He personally helped me with seemingly little things but important to me and he didn’t act like they were little he acted like they were important to him. That’s the kind of care you can expect to get at this facility top notch.

Compiling the amount of gratitude I have for this facility into a couple sentences is near impossible.
Being surrounded by nursing and clinical staff that did everything within their power to create a safe and peaceful environment was crucial for my first month in sobriety, and Harmony's Walker location made that a reality. Most facilities do not have the staff or patience to go the extra mile and accommodate the spiritual needs that some individuals have, but Harmony did that and some for me. I didn't interact with a single member of their team that didn't genuinely care and show that they had the experience to get me through what I was facing, and when I hit a point that I needed more than mandated groups Josh H.'s kayaking trips and hikes got me through.
Feling alone and scared is natural during early sobriety, but being alone doesn't have to be. 💜🐇🐿️

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Molina Healthcare Insurance Cover Drug Rehab?
Molina Healthcare insurance plans are government sponsored or on the state Insurance Marketplace. As a result, all Molina plans will have some coverage for substance use and mental health. The 2010 Affordable Care Act requires that Marketplace and government sponsored plans cover 10 essential health benefits, which include addiction treatment and mental health.
Each policy will be different in terms of how much coverage is available and what the requirements are for treatment. For example, you might need preauthorization or be required to stay within your plan’s provider network.
What Plans Does Molina Healthcare Offer?
Molina Healthcare operates differently in different states based on state specific regulations. Molina Medicaid services are unique to each state since Medicaid is administered and managed by the state. For example, Molina Healthcare Washington includes services like crisis intervention, vision, dental, and nurse advice lines, and Molina Healthcare Ohio offers LGBTQ+ services, healthcare management, and behavioral health, to name a few.
Molina provider networks also vary significantly by state. The network depends on the availability of hospitals, primary care providers, and specialists in the area. Molina Healthcare Medicare plans help manage your standard Medicare benefits from the federal government and offer you additional benefits.
These include case management and complex case management using nurses who teach you more about your condition and work with your provider to ensure you get the care you need. Molina Guided Care is a specialized plan for people with serious illnesses or conditions to help reduce pain, stress, and confusion. Other benefits include non-emergency medical transportation and the Silver & Fit Fitness Program.
Molina also offers integrated Medicaid/Medicare managed plans for people who qualify for both programs. Molina has worked with these agencies for many years, so members are provided with the quality care they need to meet their unique needs.
Finally, to help serve those who don’t qualify for Medicaid, Molina offers low priced plans in various states’ Insurance Marketplace. The Marketplace allows you to get financial help paying your insurance premium every month so it’s a great option for those who don’t qualify for Medicaid but still need financial help.
Does Molina Cover Suboxone & Methadone (MAT)?
Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) can be appropriate to help you work through withdrawal symptoms when treatment starts. It can also help you manage opioid or alcohol cravings during your treatment process.
During medical detox you may receive FDA approved medications to help you safely navigate withdrawal symptoms and be as comfortable as possible. After detox, you may continue on MAT to manage cravings while you attend treatment. This can help you stay stable and avoid relapses while you lay a foundation for recovery.
MAT may be partially or fully covered by your Molina Healthcare plan.
What Types of Treatment Does Molina Healthcare Cover?
Your insurance plan will focus on paying for medically necessary care. You can work with your doctor to create a treatment plan that will help define what’s medically necessary for you.
There are a variety of treatment options. Many people start with medical detox where they are monitored and supported through the detox process to help manage withdrawal symptoms. After that, you may move into inpatient or residential treatment. Residential treatment allows you to fully focus on your recovery without outside distractions.
During outpatient care you live at home or in a sober living environment while you attend treatment several hours a week. The most intensive programs have full day treatment. There are also programs with around nine hours of treatment a week, and the lowest level is around one or two hours per week.
The exact treatment that’s covered will depend on your specific insurance plan so be sure to verify your coverage details before committing to a treatment program.
Does Molina Cover Other Mental Healthcare?
Molina plans cover mental health and behavioral health services. In many cases you must receive services from a provider that is in network with Molina to get coverage. You can call Molina or visit their Find a Provider page to connect with a specialist whose services are covered by your plan.
Molina Healthcare covers mental health and behavioral health services from licensed specialists. Covered services may include inpatient mental health stabilization, crisis support, therapy, and integrated treatment for those with co occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
How Do You Verify Coverage With Molina Healthcare?
There are two primary ways to verify your insurance coverage.
The first is to contact Molina directly. You can call the Molina Healthcare member services phone number. At this hotline, you can update your contact information with Molina and have your questions answered about coverage for treatment. You can also log in to your online Molina account to get information about coverage and in network providers.
Your second option is to work with the admissions people at your drug addiction facility of choice. They can verify your insurance coverage, answer your questions about treatment, and help estimate your out of pocket expenses. Some facilities offer financial assistance with sliding scale fees and payment plans to help you pay for expenses not covered by your insurance policy.
Addiction facilities may also help you find financial assistance in your local community, including scholarships and grants from local organizations and businesses. Many facilities also offer a free initial assessment to help determine if you qualify for treatment and offer some information about your treatment options.
How Much Does Rehab Cost Without Insurance?
The cost of rehab without insurance varies depending on several factors. These include the type of treatment you receive, the length of treatment, the geographical location of the facility, and the facility’s amenities. For example, inpatient rehab programs typically cost more than outpatient programs and the cost of medical detoxification is often more expensive as an inpatient than an outpatient.
However, that doesn’t mean you should delay treatment. There are many ways to pay for rehab. For example you can find programs with a sliding fee
scale based on income, or you can work out a payment plan with a center. Some treatment programs also have scholarships available. You can also borrow money from friends and family so you can reclaim your life and break free from substance use.
Does Addiction Treatment Need to Be in Network?
In most cases you will want to use Molina’s network of pre authorized providers. Using in network providers is the most cost effective way to access any healthcare services including addiction treatment. Providers participating in the Molina network have agreed to accept a negotiated reduction in fees for their services. Many Molina plans do not cover out of network addiction providers.
However, a few Molina plans may offer coverage for out of network mental health or addiction care. However you will likely have greater out of pocket costs in the form of higher copays and deductibles. This increase in cost can be very significant so be sure you’ve looked into what you would need to pay before you commit to a non network program.
Molina has a large network of professional service providers. Generally you should be able to find the treatment you need being offered in network and therefore save money. Always check you insurance plan to verify whether a specific treatment or a facility you are considering is covered by your insurance.
By calling the helpline you agree to the terms of use. We do not receive any commission or fee that is dependent upon which treatment provider a caller chooses. There is no obligation to enter treatment.
Calls to numbers on a specific treatment center listing will be routed to that treatment center. Calls to any general helpline could be forwarded to SAMHSA or a verified treatment provider.
If you wish to connect with non-sponsor centers, you can browse top-rated listings, visit our homepage and browse by state, or visit SAMHSA.
