Costello is my SAG name. My name is James Dupee. I have been visiting the clinic for over a year and have been very pleased. Adam is the best Counselor/Therapist I have ever confided in. He is personable and understanding as well as straight forward with his advice. Cynthia is the most amazing face of a company I have ever met. She is kind and professional yet makes me laugh every time I stop in. The nurses are equally professional and personable. 5 Stars from me.

Symetria Recovery saved my life!! I was driving down the highway suffering major withdraw from opioid addiction. I found Symetria Recovery and they had me in the very next day. When I got tested, I was positive for Fentanyl, which had to of come from something off the street. I nearly had a panic attack thinking about my life ending, leaving behind my wife and 3 beautiful children. I've been here for about 18 months clean and sober and have never been happier. It feels great to be "me" again. Addiction causes you to lose yourself. With the help of the staff at Symetria, you CAN be saved!! Come get saved at Symetria Recovery!!

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are based on a model of continuing care and the premise that recovery is a life-long process requiring ongoing client support. Many rehab aftercare services include outpatient care, but clients often continue to receive support after being discharged from formal treatment. Case managers and care teams typically collaborate with clients to design their long-term care plan, which may include peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction, among other services.
12-step icon12-Step
12 step programs promote participants' sustained sobriety through rigorous and ongoing peer coaching and personal spiritual growth. Participants routinely attend 12 step meetings, which are available multiple times per day, 365 days per year in most communities. This ensures that those in recovery have prompt access to the structure and support they need when they need it. These programs use spiritual precepts to address the root causes of addiction and encourage compassion, self-awareness, forgiveness, accountability, and acceptance.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Residents of a sober living home in Texas reside at the halfway house with others who have agreed to abstain from substances and practice sober-living skills. The relationships and accountability formed here can help individuals strengthen their mental health and achieve long-term recovery. Residents share common spaces such as kitchens and back yards, share meals together, and share household responsibilities such as cooking and cleaning.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
24-hour clinical care in Texas provides a safe environment for medical detox. This setting is crucial to provide medical care during withdrawal. Certain withdrawal symptoms can cause life-threatening conditions, but patients in a supervised clinical setting have treatment readily available to address any symptoms before they become severe. Treatment can also be provided for co-occurring physical and mental health issues.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. The length of stay at the detoxification program is determined according to the specific needs of the patient.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Therapy sessions that incorporate motivational interviewing focus on OARS: open questions, affirmation, reflections, and summarizing. This facilitates an exchange of information and an empowering of the client to decide for themselves what changes might need to be made in their lives.

Together with an experienced trauma therapist, you work on healing emotional wounds from traumatic experiences within a trauma therapy environment. Your therapist will help you process the experience of the trauma, which promotes emotional healing and improves your overall mental health.

Couples therapy helps couples learn to control emotions, trust each other, and communicate more effectively. It can be useful for short term intervention for a specific issue or for working on the relationship long term.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Great staff who truly listen and treat you like a patient not just an “addict,” as many places do. At Symetria, you never have to worry about being belittled or dehumanized. It’s my go to clinic. I’ve tried other centers, but the Symetria in Lewisville has always been the most caring and supportive place I’ve experienced. And same with the hurst location but this location is my favorite!

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:

Symetria of Lewisville made a life-changing difference not just for my girlfriend, who was a patient there, but also for me as I supported her through treatment. The care and support provided by the team were unlike anything I’ve seen at other facilities. They treat you like a whole person, not just a diagnosis or a problem to be solved. The staff is genuinely compassionate, attentive, and easy to talk to. Conversations often went beyond just treatment — they cared about what motivated us, what we enjoyed, and who we were outside of our struggles. One staff member even introduced me to the movie Challengers with Zendaya, which, surprisingly, became a personal turning point. That film gave me something to connect with — a reason to believe in the possibility of rebuilding myself — and that connection helped drive my own journey to sobriety. What sets Symetria apart is that treatment isn’t one-size-fits-all. Whether you need a short-term plan or long-term support, they work with you at your pace. They were there for us like the tennis players were there for Zendaya’s character in Challengers — determined, focused, and unwavering in their support. Thanks to Symetria, I finished this chapter of my life clean and healthy, and I have real hope for the future. If you or someone you love is struggling, this place offers more than treatment — it offers a path back to yourself.

I can’t say enough good things about my experience at Symetria Lewisville. I have bad anxiety and from the moment I walked through the doors for the IOP, the staff and therapists made me feel incredibly welcome and supported. Their warmth and genuine care created a safe space where I felt comfortable opening up and sharing my journey without judgment. I felt heard and respected. The therapists and overall staff were exceptional—compassionate, knowledgeable, and truly dedicated to helping me navigate my recovery. They took the time to listen to my struggles and personalized guidance that made all the difference. The entire staff, from the front desk to the counselors, showed kindness and professionalism that put me at ease every step of the way. I’m deeply grateful for the role this clinic played in helping me get my life back. Their support gave me the tools and confidence to rebuild my life and embrace a positive outlook. I know the journey isn't ever totally over, but I now have a gameplan and a focused mindset to handle my substance addiction, depression and all that goes with living in recovery. They saved my life. I wholeheartedly recommend Symetria Lewisville to anyone seeking a caring, effective path to recovery.

I come in with him sometimes so I have also had the chance to meet some of the staff who are some of the kindest and most caring people you will ever meet, especially Ashlee and Cynthia. I was supposed to initially attend their IOP last year but because of travel plans decided to defer. I will say that at that particular time, I felt they took too long to begin the intake process by what I saw of other people waiting…I felt no biggie. But after two more attempts at IOP there I saw I was dodging a bullet as it were. BOTH times I was never introduced to the lead therapist who by the way walked around and didn’t care to introduce himself. The second time I had to leave because one particular client would NOT STOP TALKING about her issues and problems at home and the therapists would never ask her to allow others to share. They obviously do not know how to set boundaries and then you throw someone like me that has social anxiety on top of that makes for not such a great combo. It was obvious this particular client had narcissistic tendencies and I would rather not deal with that with no boundaries set.

I would like to take a moment to post again. I do want to say the program has helped me move to a better place in my life “Costello” is my SAG name. My name is James Dupee. I have been visiting the clinic for over a year and have been very pleased. Aaron is the best Counselor/Therapist I have ever confided in. She is kind and professional yet makes me laugh every time I stop in. She is fun to look at too. Haha! Seriously though, the nurses are equally professional and personable. I do want to add, I have confided in Aaron on a few different occasions and he has talked me off the ledge regarding a couple of issues I was struggling with. Your program has been a God send. 👍🙏
