Symetria Recovery saved my life!! I was driving down the highway suffering major withdraw from opioid addiction. I found Symetria Recovery and they had me in the very next day. When I got tested, I was positive for Fentanyl, which had to of come from something off the street. I nearly had a panic attack thinking about my life ending, leaving behind my wife and 3 beautiful children. I've been here for about 18 months clean and sober and have never been happier. IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Aftercare Support

Rehab aftercare programs are based on a model of continuing care and the premise that recovery is a life-long process requiring ongoing client support. Many rehab aftercare services include outpatient care, but clients often continue to receive support after being discharged from formal treatment. Case managers and care teams typically collaborate with clients to design their long-term care plan, which may include peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction, among other services.

Sober Living Homes

Residents of a sober living home in Texas reside at the halfway house with others who have agreed to abstain from substances and practice sober-living skills. The relationships and accountability formed here can help individuals strengthen their mental health and achieve long-term recovery. Residents share common spaces such as kitchens and back yards, share meals together, and share household responsibilities such as cooking and cleaning.

24-Hour Clinical Care

24-hour clinical care in Texas provides a safe environment for medical detox. This setting is crucial to provide medical care during withdrawal. Certain withdrawal symptoms can cause life-threatening conditions, but patients in a supervised clinical setting have treatment readily available to address any symptoms before they become severe. Treatment can also be provided for co-occurring physical and mental health issues.

Medically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. The length of stay at the detoxification program is determined according to the specific needs of the patient.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Therapy sessions that incorporate motivational interviewing focus on OARS: open questions, affirmation, reflections, and summarizing. This facilitates an exchange of information and an empowering of the client to decide for themselves what changes might need to be made in their lives.

Together with an experienced trauma therapist, you work on healing emotional wounds from traumatic experiences within a trauma therapy environment. Your therapist will help you process the experience of the trauma, which promotes emotional healing and improves your overall mental health.

Couples therapy helps couples learn to control emotions, trust each other, and communicate more effectively. It can be useful for short term intervention for a specific issue or for working on the relationship long term.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Great staff who truly listen and treat you like a patient not just an “addict,” as many places do. At Symetria, you never have to worry about being belittled or dehumanized. It’s my go to clinic. I’ve tried other centers, but the Symetria in Lewisville has always been the most caring and supportive place I’ve experienced. And same with the hurst location but this location is my favorite!

I was supposed to initially attend their IOP last year but because of travel plans decided to defer. I will say that at that particular time, I felt they took too long to begin the intake process by what I saw of other people waiting…I felt no biggie. But after two more attempts at IOP there I saw I was dodging a bullet as it were. BOTH times I was never introduced to the lead therapist who by the way walked around and didn’t care to introduce himself. The second time I had to leave because one particular client would NOT STOP TALKING about her issues and problems at home and the therapists would never ask her to allow others to share. They obviously do not know how to set boundaries and then you throw someone like me that has social anxiety on top of that makes for not such a great combo. It was obvious this particular client had narcissistic tendencies and I would rather not deal with that with no boundaries set.
