This is the 3rd treatment center that I’ve been to and by far the best support, connections, and experience I’ve had. The staff and community are indescribably amazing. I finally feel like I am on a strong path going forward with my sobriety. Thank you so much for everything and I can’t wait to return for alumni!
HighWatch Recovery Center is a truly extraordinary place— a rich history, rooted in the 12 Steps, and committed to deep, lasting transformation. The moment you arrive on the serene, spiritual campus in the hills of Connecticut, you feel the legacy of healing that has taken place there for decades. It’s a sacred space where recovery is honored and lives are rebuilt with dignity and purpose.
The entire team at HighWatch is world-class—compassionate, knowledgeable, and deeply invested in each individual’s journey. The integration of evidence-based practices with spiritual growth and community support creates a powerful and balanced approach to healing. This place is amazing. The staff is beyond incredible. They make you feel like family. They truly care for you. I stayed for 95 days. Best thing I ever did. Oh and you eat like a king lol some of the best food ever and the bakery is out of this world. In all seriousness this place is an amazing place to get help. I felt welcomed by all the other guests as well. Everyone is there for the same reason so its very easy to get along and you build a family forever . I've been out for over 6 months now and I still talk to at least 15 of the guys. Highly recommend. In fact I have already recommend it to a few people. And i met some people here in bennington vt where I go to AA that went to h.w back in the day. Can't wait to go back for a prime rib dinner soon..

Awesome place to go through recovery. In the 20 years I have been in recovery I have never experienced such a professional organized staff. They assist with medication, case work, are flexible with scheduling. They get you your meds right away at the facility and it's a great place to go to find the right path

The staff were very helpful, professional, and willing to meet clients where they’re at based on their own individual treatment needs. They were the only agency that I found in my area that believe in a dual diagnosis treatment model, which allows you to continue taking your mental health medications, while also getting help for SUD.

Honestly love this place! With the kindness and they respect they give you, it gives you hope for a better future.
I completed here in 7 months and that’s probably the earliest completion time that is given, they say 6-9 months but it will take 30 days to discharge you after you’ve been approved. I’m just going to say one thing that may be viewed as negative but it’s really just about your mindset. This facility really doesn’t like to just let you go, even if you’ve spent a full 6-9 months and did the work, stayed out of trouble. I personally see this as them being cautious about keeping us safe rather than a financial thing which everyone will always argue.
The staff members who are not working directly on our treatment, like the “techs” which are just called clinical support, they are very well liked. It seems that because they are around us far more than the counselors, they understand us better and you can just know that they care about us a lot because seeing us day in and day out for almost a year, they get to know you, trust is developed.
Holidays here are the most extraordinary celebrations any rehab has put together. Not just the winter holidays, every single holiday is celebrated. There were constant events going on, this really created a bonding in the community.
Groups are individually chosen, there are many different groups going at the same time and the group changed go by semesters which are ever three months, you sit and pick which groups you would like to be in. I really enjoyed this and some of the groups were fantastic. They throw in things like philosophy, self defense, etc. as if we are taking a college class so it’s not all about addiction treatment.
No cell phone and limited phone calls. No cigarettes. You only leave to go to doctor appointments. If you are someone who has tried and failed, tried and failed and need help. PLEASE GIVE NEW HOPE MANOR A SHOT. I will always say that my stay here was the most significant part of my life in the 32 years I’ve been alive. I’m all about self discovery, it’s my purpose in life and NHM gave me so much self discovery.
I want to personally thank Matt, who’s genuine care about each of us was made very apparent by always being available to talk and how much he loved to make us laugh. I honestly couldn’t wait to spend my free time after lunch just chatting in the computer room, i know everyone felt that way which is why everyone was always there. Matt takes his job seriously like really seriously and when he took a vacation, the whole place malfunctioned for a couple days but most of all, we couldnt wait til he came back. This is all genuinely true and that just speaks for itself how much of an impact Matt has made on the women.

I just finished 7 months at New Hope Manor and I’m so happy! I am a new person, no longer committing murder to myself via alcohol, opioids and cigarettes. The Angelic guidance of my counselor Amanda who always had the utmost patience and care for me has helped set me free of the self destructive, depressing life I had before I was blessed enough to find New Hope. Amanda gently guided me into having a life I never thought I could achieve. Also Anand, my therapist, helped me so much it’s unreal. He had a way of showing me how to show myself why I self sabotaged and how to fix me. He is an amazing man so gentle , soulful, intuitive, positive and encouraging.
Both he and Amanda showed me how and why to forgive myself and how to stop living in shame.
I never felt so cared for and understood by anybody like I did from the whole gifted staff at New Hope. Not just for me but for all the other clients living there as well. It amazed me to witness the patience and understanding which was shown even to the most difficult client.
The groups (classes) were so well thought out to help bring about a transformation worthy of the hard work they asked. I loved learning all about life, and addiction (it’s never to late) and why and how a sober and peaceful life was mine if I wanted it badly enough.
I could never ever thank the amazing staff at New Hope for my New life.
Everyone on the staff; whether they were personally assigned to me or not was always there for us which meant so much to me which I’m sure they didn’t realize how much it meant.
Even Joe who ran the kitchen showed so much love preparing our meals. The 3 meals a day plus snacks was above and beyond what you’d expect. Just saying, delicious! Joe is an amazing man. I am so grateful for getting to know him and learn why he understood all of us and why he cared so much.
I can go on and on with praise for New Hope. I’m not saying they are perfect. Who is? However I can say they do listen to the women there. I figured out early on that when I didn’t agree with their methods there was a good reason for those methods.
I know God bought me to New Hope. I was never in rehab before and had no idea what to expect. I did know I couldn’t go on self murdering myself the way I was. I do know I never expected to heal the way I did. I also know I will continue to work on my sobriety outside NH and I know they are with me for the rest of my life. ❤️

I was at New Hope Manor in 2009 and if you had asked me back then I probably would have sounded like some of these reviews, lol. The truth is those mean nuns dedicated their entire life to helping us get sober, and helping us keep our kids and I am eternally grateful for the lessons I learned there. I’m still in touch with some of my new hope sisters and we all agree we would go back in a heart beat. Back then I felt cheated at the holidays, now I realize they taught us what the holidays were really about, I could go on and on. Great program, life saving, for real!
Wow. Sorry you had to close. I was a Seabrooker 30 years or so ago. I am now a semi old fart. Thanks to Seabrook. I wouldn't have lasted a year without them. Thanks for an exceptional sober life.

Today's marks my 4 year sober anniversary and it all started with Seabrook. I went when COVID was everywhere and unfortunately after a week about half of the staff was out due to testing positive. Even with half of the staff gone, the rest of the staff did everything and anything they could to help those who truly accepted it. You're able to see people from all walks of life, different backgrounds and of all ages struggle to find peace within themselves and know you're not alone. The speakers who come are extremely powerful with their raw true stories about addiction BUT also more importantly about how they're recovering and kept fighting for themselves. I had no idea what to expect when I went as it was my first time getting help and even acknowledging I needed it. Going to Seabrook and getting sober was the absolute best thing I ever did for myself. Life can be hard but it's not attacking you personally. Once you start to heal yourself, you see more of the beauty in the world and in people. There's way and I mean way more good people than bad. They want to see you succeed and just be happy. Those people are everywhere and once you clear the fog(drugs) from your mind and body you will find them. You then become those who helped you and you get to help others just by staying sober and showing it can happen. I know you guys will be open once again to help those who need it. I have so much love for all of you and thank you for never giving up on us even when it's hard. I am a recovering alcoholic and today I have 4 years sober. I have a new career, an amazing fiance and my life is just beginning. Never give up and know you're not alone. Zoom meetings are 24/7 and they're tons of communities online. You got this! 😀❤️
God, dropped this place from Heaven and placed it on Teaneck Road. There just is no hospital that I have ever been to that is like it, ever. Holy Name saved My Mama's life TWICE!!! I think part of their job requirement is for you to be a living Angel. They cared for my Mom and took extra special care of me, her worrying family and my worrying child. Everyone treats you like you are their personal family and flesh and blood there. From Dr. Hee Yang and his PA Dayana. To my Mom's Anesthesiologist and Nurses. From Andre and the other sweet curly hair young lady at the front desk. Edwinda, Alexa, Jackie, Lamont and sweet cheery Amber on the 3rd flr. To Taylor, Carolina, Migena, Bree and the head Nurse manager Johanna on the 5th flr. Even down to patient transport. To Kayan in the Cafeteria and everyone who works there, all the amazing cooks that put their foot and heart in the food there. The Food, Oh baby...it's healing and soo soo good!! I wonder if I can sneak back in just to grab food. You Can Trust this place with your life and your loved ones lives. Their misson and obvious dedication is to save lives and unfortunately that's not something you come by often at all. It is Truly an Incredibly Special Place!! Thank You Thank You Holy Name Hospital for literally loving, caring, and taking care of your patients and their loved ones. If I had a trillion dollars I would donate half of it to this place. Please forgive me if I didn't mention your name here. Everyone of you are truly truly special. God Bless Every Single One of You!!!!

I had a surgical procedure yesterday with Dr. Phillip George 3+ hours in OR. Dr. George is a Rock Star!
Holy Name Hospital is a beautiful facility with a world class staff of Anesthesiologists, RNs and all support staff.
I could not have chosen a finer Surgeon and Hospital, than Holy Name.
I actually took a short walk Day 1 today and and I am not in any significant pain, just very sore.
Thank you Dr. George and Holy Name Hospital!!!
If I could give this place a place amongst the stars I would. I rate this 10 out of 5. Excellent staff from the cleaning crew the kitchen (chef, the aunties) to the CA to the counselors and of course the nursing and medical staff!!! All the employees truly went above and beyond for me during my time of healing. The experience is what you make of it honestly from person to person but I got so very much and I am heading to my next step any day now. I've used many tools I learned while in there but most importantly I learned to respect and believe in my program of recovery again and I plan to keep climbing. Thank you to all of you for believing in me until I could get my strength to believe in myself again . Just for today!

One thing is for sure, Helio Health saved my life. I started as a client and now I am working for Helio. Outpatient, residential, recovery center and inpatient/detox. All amazing programs that a lot of people put their heart and soul into.
Some people like to complain about anything because nothing will ever, please them. I have lived on the streets and if someone comes into this facility and states that the streets are better. Then they clearly have never been on the streets. It's all about perspective. If you're ready and willing to make your life better regardless of what you have to do and how it will make you, "feel". If we made people completely comfortable, with all this and that, then no one would leave. I have seen that with different facilities that have all this food and that but then they don't have the proper treatment or groups. But they feed you well. Pick your poison. Some kids act like spoiled brats and nothing is ever enough. Maybe you should change your perspective, it's amazing what is possible by thinking positive regardless of the situation. It's easy to come on here and judge when you don't see it through. Suffering is real. You can choose to let a little rain ruin your day or you can choose to make a rainbow. The choice is yours. We give you the necessary tools, now it's up to you to alchemize what is taught. I can choose to be better, or I can make excuses. What do you choose?
Common sense plays a huge roll in this places values. Much love -Bry OZ (I’m good, promise, Judaism go figure lol ✡️)

The River Rock program is incredible. The clinicians and staff are knowledgeable, compassionate and passionate about what they do. I attended the IOP program a year ago. My experience there was so impactful on my overall wellbeing. I now work in mental health myself and confidently refer patients their way knowing they will be supported through their mental health and sobriety journey.

I want to add a personal review of River Rock under my name because I’m truly happy of the program and what it has done for my family. I don’t necessarily identify as being an alcoholic but used substances as a way to cope with bad times. Through the intensive outpatient therapy program River Rock provides I was able to gain a clear understanding of how to navigate problems at home. I went through the process a few years ago and then my husband felt compelled (thankfully) to do so after. Since then, we’ve been able to navigate life in a more healthy manner. They use a multi-faceted approach of different therapies including CBT, DBT, life coaching, adventure therapy, group sessions and one-on-one therapy to make sure that people get the help they need! We’ve been able to create a more holistic life that benefits us and use the tools given to get through hard times. We are more connected and practice self care including cold plunges and are building a space to install a sauna at home. Communication is better, my husband has been alcohol free for over a year and a half and we are able to navigate life much better. If you are questioning getting help in any capacity, I would recommend at least reaching out to River Rock. There is no shame in wanting to take steps to achieving a more healthy outlook on life. They have the resources to meet you where you are. With love, Kim.

My experience at Singer Island Rehab was truly life changing! I learned to love myself again with self care for my MIND and BODY. I learned for the first time in a rehab that my addiction is not who I am! It was what I used to get out of my head when it was too much to handle. Thru the groups, I was able to be open and honest with my people I grew to call my little rehab family in the 31 days I was there. Individual therapy sessions with Anjalee were so helpful and I felt heard & understood. Facilitators really we’re passionate about helping all of us, by teaching us all they could so we can stay Sober! The LIV program was the part that really built my confidence by allowing me to “Do Hard Shit” ( the motto of the LIV program) that I would never have done otherwise, such as cold plunging 20 mornings I believe, rock climbing, pickleball and just waking up at 5:15 am for 3 weeks for Sunrise. Be present and grounded! I even got out of my shell and painted a picture on the new surf board for 2025-2026 that clients can sign when they really jump into the LIV program! I am eternally grateful for this journey I started there! I would refer anyone there to find out the Why? Behind our addictions…. the mind and brain can repair and change!

Frequently Asked Questions
MVP Health Care Available Plans
MVP offers a wide variety of plans. You may have an individual or family plan from the Insurance Marketplace or through your employer. They also have Medicare and Medicaid for those who qualify and specialty plans.
The individual and family plans have different types. The most common are health maintenance organizations (HMOs), exclusive provider organizations (EPOs), and preferred provider organizations (PPOs).
An HMO is less expensive each month but you need to use in network providers. An HMO also requires you to have a primary care provider who can give referrals to specialists like addiction counselors. An EPO also requires you to get in network care but you don’t need referrals to get specialist care. Finally, a PPO has the highest monthly premium but gives you the freedom to get out of network care and you can see specialists without referrals.
How Much Does Rehab Cost with Health Insurance From MVP?
The most important numbers to take note of are your deductible and your total out of pocket limit. Another important number is how much cost sharing you’re expected to do. It may be a defined copayment or a percentage of the cost, which is known as coinsurance. These are annual figures and reset each year.
You’ll want to make sure you choose an in network provider to maximize your insurance coverage, and if you need preauthorization be sure to get it so you have the coverage you need.
What Special Features Does MVP Health Care Have?
One thing that makes MVP Health Care stand out is the Essential Plan that’s available in New York. It has a $0 monthly premium and $0 deductible. It’s available to those within certain income limits — people and families who don’t qualify for Medicaid but are still lower income.
The Essential Plan includes dental and vision care along with low cost prescriptions. You’ll also get inpatient and outpatient services and primary care including virtual care. There is also coverage for mental health and addiction treatment along with emergency and maternity services.
What Inpatient Addiction Treatment Does MVP Health Care Cover?
Although the benefits and limitations between MVP Health Care plans may differ they all focus on delivering medically necessary care. It is crucial to have a treatment plan from your physician that documents the care required to treat your symptoms or diagnosis. This information will also be used to pre authorize treatment and helps ensure insurance coverage.
Addiction treatment is highly specialized and typically begins with medical detoxification. These programs provide FDA cleared prescription drugs to reduce withdrawal symptoms and help prevent life threatening complications that can occur during withdrawal from certain medications and drugs. Many times medical detox happens in an inpatient or residential care facility.
Once the substances have cleared your body you may transition into an inpatient or residential evidence based treatment program in the same facility. Evidence based programs can include approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy along with motivational interviewing.
These strategies help to identify addiction triggers and negative thought patterns that support addictive behavior. By changing your thought patterns you can change the results. Evidence based therapies also help develop healthier coping strategies and teach you how to care for your body and mind along with your emotions.
What Outpatient Rehab Does MVP Health Care Cover?
Outpatient drug and alcohol treatment may be the initial treatment strategy determined by your doctor. Your treatment program is typically customized based on a comprehensive evaluation and assessment of your physical and mental and emotional status. Outpatient programs can include a partial hospitalization program (PHP) or intensive outpatient program (IOP). There is also general outpatient treatment.
A PHP provides intensive and highly structured evidence based treatments. These treatments are typically similar to those you would receive in an inpatient or residential care facility but you can return home in the evening. Your customized treatment program may include an IOP that provides treatment for a few hours each day for several days each week.
Some IOPs offer treatment in the morning or evening hours. This allows you to maintain your work or school obligations while attending therapy. After completing an intensive program you may be transitioned to a general outpatient treatment program. These typically include therapy once or twice a week and make plans for relapse prevention programs and aftercare.
The structure of your aftercare program depends on your needs and the community resources the treatment center connects you to. Some options may include weekly therapy and community support groups. There are also relapse prevention programs and drug and alcohol testing and monitoring along with vocational training. Some treatment programs have alumni groups during which you can network with others who have graduated from the program.
Does MVP Health Care Cover Methadone & Suboxone (MAT)?
MVP Health Care plans may cover methadone and Suboxone during medication assisted treatment (MAT). Medication assisted treatment is useful during medical detoxification and for ongoing treatment of opioid and alcohol use disorders. During medical detoxification you may receive FDA cleared prescription medications that reduce symptoms of withdrawal and help reduce cravings.
These medications can be used on an ongoing basis to help maintain your sobriety. Commonly prescribed drugs are methadone and buprenorphine along with naltrexone and Suboxone.
Does MVP Health Care Cover Other Mental Healthcare?
Two federal laws regulate how insurance providers cover essential health services such as treatment for mental health conditions and substance use disorders. Most MVP Health Care plans meet those regulations and offer at least some coverage for mental health care. However there are exceptions to these regulations so you must confirm your insurance policy’s coverage and limits.
Some of the common mental conditions include post traumatic stress disorder and depression. People may also struggle with anxiety disorders and bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder. MVP Health Care policies may also cover crisis support when you need immediate mental health care.
Mental health conditions are commonly diagnosed alongside substance use disorders. Co occurring disorders are also called dual diagnosis. When your insurance company offers coverage for mental health conditions they typically also offer integrated care for dual diagnosis that covers treatment for both mental health and substance use disorders. This integrated care sets you up for long term and sustainable recovery.
Does Addiction Treatment Need to Be In Network?
Most MVP Health Care plans do not cover out of network treatment but some plans do. This is why it’s important to understand the benefits and limits of your particular plan. When you receive care out of network your out of pocket costs will typically be higher. Even if the insurance plan covers some costs you will likely have higher deductibles and co payments.
You can maximize your insurance coverage and receive the care you need by getting treatment for mental health conditions and substance use disorders within the insurance provider’s network whenever possible. Carefully review your insurance benefits and limitations before deciding on an out of network provider so you are well informed of the costs you might incur.
How to Verify Coverage With MVP Health Care
There are several ways to verify your insurance details with MVP Health Care. The first is to contact the insurance company’s customer service line or login to your online insurance account. The Gia app by MVP gives you an overview of your coverage including how much you’ve paid on your deductibles. It also tells you your plan limits and can help you find in network providers.
Another option to verify your coverage is to work with the treatment center of your choice. They can tell you if they’re in network with your insurance plan and many will help verify your insurance coverage and estimate your out of pocket costs. There are a wide variety of plans within MVP Health Care so the treatment center or your insurance provider will need the exact name of the plan and your member number.
