About The Center – A Place of HOPE

The center takes private pay of which the cost varies depending on the level of care and amenities you choose. The facility also accepts insurance from most providers. They don’t accept state funded insurance programs or HMOs. They do offer financing options through CareCredit.

There’s an emphasis on privacy and security for people who have a high profile in their community. If you’re a celebrity, performer, church leader, athlete or other high profile person, they’ll work to ensure your anonymity.

When you commit to the program, you’ll have a minimum stay of five days. Most people stay two weeks or longer. You’ll start with an initial exam that includes physical and psychological assessments. They’ll give you a custom treatment plan based on your situation.

The plan addresses any issues you’re having such as alcohol or substance use, depression, anxiety, grief, loss, eating disorders, compulsive behaviors and other stressors such as burnout. Along with psychological and dependency issues, you’ll get a health and physical exam to include a fitness assessment.

Clients stay in private suites with numerous amenities. The programs offer healing opportunities from the trauma of sexual and emotional abuse, physical abuse, sexual assault and date rape. From eating disorders to anxiety, you’ll work to get to the root of your unhealthy coping skills to build a better foundation for balanced mental health and physical fitness.

There’s also a track for men with eating disorders. Most eating disorder programs focus on women only, but men also suffer from eating disorders. The programs are for adults of both genders 17 and older.

There are also spiritual renewal programs for those experiencing stress or burnout in their ministry. You’ll have a chance to renew your relationship with God while dealing with chemical dependency or mental health issues. You’ll learn about processing trauma and how to love yourself so you can be there for others.

One former client cited the one on one programs as valuable and influential in his healing. Other clients felt their stay was one of the best experiences they’ve ever had.

Accepted Insurance

The Center – A Place of HOPE works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Effective drug rehab in Washington integrates care for the whole person, offering comprehensive solutions to addiction. Treatment methods address mental, physical, and relational aspects of substance abuse.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Rational Behavior Therapy (RBT) is a form of cognitive behavioral therapy meant to be short-term and comprehensive. It was intended to help clients become more self-sufficent and move forward without the need for expensive, ongoing therapy. It includes an emotional self-help method called “rational self-counseling,” the purpose of which is to give clients all the skills needed to handle future emotional issues by themselves, or with significantly less professional help.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

I went in feeling completely hopeless and that I needed to just accept the fact that I would be surviving the rest of my life. Fast forward 6 weeks and I feel a lot of hope and excitement for the future where I will be able to thrive not just survive. The staff are super supportive and caring I would definitely recommend going if you are struggling with mental health.

Though I really valued the tools and relationships I gained at The Center, it wasn’t the right program for me. I was there for severe OCD and anxiety, and should have gone to a place that was more specialized in those issues. I didn’t find the boundaries, relationships, and cooking classes helpful and wish I could have put that time towards anxiety and OCD treatment instead. I also didn’t love the way we were spoken to during the Saturday boundaries class when the rules of The Center were reviewed. The tone was bordering on condescending and felt more like being in detention than a supportive class environment. I was there in the middle of summer and was told I was breaking the dress code by wearing a tank top. As a woman experiencing menopausal hot flashes, I nearly laughed out loud, and grabbed paper towels from the bathroom to slip under the straps of my shirt so I wouldn’t have to put my hoody on. I loved my medication provider, and found the genetic testing he provided on my last week of treatment to be invaluable. I used this information with my current psychiatrist and am finally on a med that works for me. I question why this isn’t done before they start prescribing meds, because the initial one I was given was shown to be the worst genetic match for my body. That information would have saved time and discomfort from side effects if we would have done it sooner. I adored the new therapist there who specializes in OCD. She was the most helpful and encouraging part of my “care team”. I was initially matched with another counselor that I just didn’t vibe with, and am so glad I advocated for myself and was reassigned with Stacey (do not be afraid to speak up if a member of your care team isn’t a great fit). I’m still using the tools she taught me (ERP therapy) now, and my OCD is improving every day. The housing was lovely, as were my roommates, and it felt amazing to be able to speak openly with people who genuinely understand what you’re going through. There seemed to be a lot of drama with younger clients, but I just tried to ignore it and stay focused on my own treatment. The front desk staff is amazing, and I loved interacting with them. DBT skills were taught in a fast and furious manner, and was too much for me to absorb in just a month. And I was over hearing about crows after my first week (though several clients got crow tattoos to symbolize their experience with Crow Mike and DBT. I will never understand that whole thing. I also think ACT and CBT therapy are a better fit for my particular issues, but still found pieces of DBT to be important for me. The food was good and healthy (a rare combo), but you will be very sick of it by the time you leave. I also really appreciated being able to use the gym and participate in yoga and cardio classes. The Center does lean pretty Christian, which was fine for me but may not work for you. It was strange talking about god and Jesus in a conversation relating to brain chemistry. However, I did find that I’m more open to finding my own spiritual path. I chose to extend my time to five weeks, but just felt so exhausted and crappy (most likely from the meds that didn’t agree with me) that I changed my mind and left after 4 weeks. I was charged $1600 to leave early, which I was aware of. If you’re experiencing acute ocd, panic attacks or severe anxiety, maybe look for a place that only focuses on those issues like UCLA, McLean, or Roger’s Behavioral Health.

I came to The Center hoping to find joy in my life. I needed to heal. A lot. This place is incredibly supportive. The front desk staff are so kind and organized, every day. My care team is amazing. I received excellent and coordinated treatment. They truly met me where I was and helped me rebuild myself from there. The Center is a wonderful place to heal, and gives us the tools to continue to heal after we leave. I came in hopeless and I'm leaving hopeful and optimistic. France and Jennifer are incredible therapists. CrowMike, Ricardo, Karen, John and Virgil are great teachers. I have learned so much about myself and how I want to live. Thank you to The Center for giving me back the gift of self.

Response from the owner
Nikki, thank you for your uplifting and hopeful review. We are so appreciative of your kind words about the effectiveness and genuineness of our care team.
