Walked in last week with a terrible toothache. Even though I did not have an appt nor called in earlier, the receptionists were very empathetic, I was able to see a doctor, Dr Kim, did anX-ray and physical exam and was advised to have a tooth extraction later and sent home with antibiotics. I had a bad infection. 2 days later I was called to have the extraction, and scheduled the next day, it was fast, painless and the doctor walked in through all the steps. I loved the entire experience, everyone who attended to me including the dental assistant was very kind and very empathetic. They also have a sliding scale so it was very cost friendly despite not having dental insurance. Am very grateful.

Dr. Davis made my spouse and I feel so at ease and supported during our sessions! She was personable and able to quickly identify our needs. A fear of mine in attending therapy, was feeling like I was "under a microscope". However, with Dr. Davis I felt encouraged to voice/work through my thoughts and challenged to consider them from another perspective. The office environment was inviting and private. So upset this treatment center is closing!! Typical corporate decision. I am alive today because of their treatment. Clean & sober for 15 years with no desire to drink, do drugs, and/or binging on both. The comments from the new owners were disrespectful and ignorant about the process. Treatment is not easy in any program, but if it saves lives why end it. Shame on you Universal Healthcare! Many lives will be lost by closing this hospital.

I feel like it needs to be said that no one will kick an addiction in 10 days. Even the traditional 28 days won't end the addiction. There are no shortcuts to the life long journey you are embarking on, if you choose sobriety. What Schick does - is give you the tools, and take away the cravings so you can handle this huge life shift.
I have been abusing alcohol for 8 years and finally decided I needed professional help. Schick is working so far for me. I've been 81 days sober as of today.
What the treatment is like:
There is a daily schedule of meds, vitals, and group. You will spend the mid morning through mid afternoon either completing a sleepy (propofol conscious sedation treatment where they ask you a series of questions related to getting sober, and staying sober) and counseling, or a duffy (ipecac aversion treatment where they give you ipecac and then have you drink alcohol. you quickly become ill to associate drinking with nausea.). Late afternoon are various groups.
Pros:
-The medical director at the hospital is a true patient advocator. Sabrina is incredible.
-The community. I felt safe sharing in group, and gained some friends I imagine will be with me for life.
-The counselor John. I've been going to therapy the past ten years, but HE is my favorite person I've talked through my mental health with. Compassionate, empathetic, just a good listener, and has great life advice. He's been there done that, and helped me see some great perspective. His lectures are also my favorite.
-The program. Schick gives all of the same literature that any other rehab gives, but also has the aversion therapy, and sedation treatment.
-The resources. The media wall, the counselors, the lectures, the movies, the hypnosis videos, the 4 agreements, etc. There are so many resources it was hard to take them all in. But theyre all powerful and have continued to help me outside of Schick.
Cons:
-The nursing staff. For the most part I didn't have a problem. But some of the staff had no bedside manner whatsoever. Some said misogynistic comments. Some did room checks late at night with little regard to patients sleeping. Some argued with other nurses in front of me. Either the nurse was great or the nurse was pretty unprofessional. And I didn't see much inbetween.
-Not a diverse group at all. As a black queer female I felt out of place here. It's mostly white men in their 30s and 40s.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 stars!
I was an athlete my whole life—earning multiple full-ride scholarship offers to play college basketball and football. I thrived as the starting quarterback at Glacier Peak High School and competed in a wide range of sports: MMA, black belts in karate and Tae Kwon Do, BMX biking, snowboarding, surfing, rock climbing, and more. But a string of serious injuries changed everything: I broke two vertebrae in my back playing football, tore my MCL and ACL playing basketball, broke my nose, and suffered many other major injuries.
My addiction began as a direct result of being overprescribed opioid pain medication for these injuries. Back then, opioid prescriptions were handed out far more freely and without the strict oversight we have today. I became one of many who unknowingly fell victim to that crisis.
After years of pain and physical setbacks, I also suffered a severe work injury as a marine machinist at the Port of Seattle shipyard—where I proudly served as a member of IAM Locals 76 and 79, District 160. I herniated two discs in my lower back, lost my mobility, and was forced to give up the physical lifestyle that defined me.
Evergreen Treatment Services changed my life. From the moment I started at their Seattle clinic through the support I received at the Renton clinic during difficult times, ETS has been nothing short of outstanding. Their professionalism is unmatched—efficient, kind, courteous, and deeply compassionate. Staff don’t just treat you—they truly care and go above and beyond to help. My counselor Jeff is wise, supportive, and positive, even on my darkest days. Every team member, from front desk to nurses and technicians, treats you with respect and dignity.
I’ve been a patient and receiver of M.A.T. Services (medication assisted treatment) for over 15 years. As a result of my addiction, I spent over 5 years incarcerated in prison and additional time in county jails, psych ward etc. I have tried countless programs - including Suboxone, the vivitrol shot, I've been to 10 treatment programs intensive inpatient, intensive outpatient, halfway house programs faith-based recovery programs including teen challenge and the Los Angeles dream Center Christian Boot camp discipleship program, NA, AA, CA, Celebrate Recovery, SMART recovery, Buddhist Recovery - but nothing compares to the stability and hope I’ve found through methadone treatment at ETS. Despite homelessness, serious health issues, and mental health challenges, I’ve never missed a dose or a day. Their unwavering support has been the foundation of my recovery and new life.
From me, my fiancé, my family, and friends—who are so happy to have their son, brother, nephew, grandson, friend etc back from the grip of fentanyl addiction - thank you, Evergreen Treatment Services, for all that you do for people like me. 🙏🏼
If you or someone you love is struggling with opioid addiction, ETS is the place to turn. They are true professionals and genuine lifesavers. Five stars don’t come close to expressing my gratitude—ETS is simply the best.

I have been through four rehabs. I came to ATA because my attorney sent me to them. I was arrested for DUI. My checkered past with rehabs came from jobs or family members pressuring me. I ignored everything until I was arrested. I had a blackout and drove. I could have killed people. Everyday I see the news and read about people who drive drunk and killed people. I am blessed not to be in the news. My assessment from ATA opened my eyes. I have had a lot of violence and trauma in my life, but I have to take responsibility for my choices in life. I transfered to Wecare for a while it's way closer to my home. But I'm not daily, and they will work with you, from where you are. They'll get around all the unnecessary red tape and BS they can, and every time I make my dose, it's high 5s and smiles all the way from the staff. They make you feel wanted, and you can't exaggerate how much some of us need that now. To me, it's worth the extra few miles... I'm driving though, not everyone has been as lucky as me on that so this is just my calculation and experience. Chin up.
Anyway yeah it's great for a methadone place. They're totally good enough. And in this industry that should be celebrated.

Seattle, Washington | reSTART Life Bellevue Campus is located in Bellevue, Washington. They offer residential treatment, partial hospitalization treatment, intensive outpatient treatment, and traditional outpatient services for adolescents and young adults who are struggling with behavioral addictions. Their primary focus is on helping people overcome tech addictions. r | Programs Payment Options | I attended ReStart in Dec 2016 to 2017. The structure of the inpatient program really helped to fill the time that gaming and tech had taken (which was every waking minute of every day for many years for me, I felt like an extreme case).
Taking the time to sit in the present moment and day was something that was simple yet something I really never did since I was 12. I entered when I was 24, nearly 25. I'm 33 now. Restart showed me how great life could be with people who struggled with their own problems. None of them had the exact pattern I did but they had their troubles with tech use as a distraction from family and school issues.
Therapy 1 on 1 really helped to dive into why I turned to gaming. Dr. Cash was really understanding and suggested various books and 12 step meetings to attend. I attend those meetings to this day.
Crossfit really helped to get my body moving when I was in restart and it really lifted my depression.
The most invaluable part is still being friends and near people who were in the program when I was. As time has gone on, some people have moved further away but there is still a core of us who live a healthy and social life together and have progressed further into our work lives and schools than we probably never imagined accomplishing.
If you as a teen or young adult thinks you have an issue with tech and you can't stop, I'd really recommend ReStart if you want to get out of those chains and get the tools to live a full and healthy life.
If you are a parent with a kid who has tech issues around VR or gaming or something that takes up enormous amounts of time in your child's day and life, maybe reStart is the place to look. I'd make sure you're limiting tech time from a young age before they are teens. I was in that situation as a teen and I found so many work arounds. My mom tried. I was lost at that point.
Restart gave me a chance to restart my life in a sense. Free from the chains of gaming. That's not to say I've had my fair share of relapses, but now I have the recipe so to speak and that first step is accepting help when I cannot do this alone.
Get help if you're stuck like I was. Time is too precious to let slip by.
I suffer from agoraphobia and have an intense fear of open areas. I imagine that was due to the amount of time I spent indoors and such. The tools at reStart and time away from gaming allowed me to feel comfortable enough to go out for a hike at Mailbox Peak in 2018 or 2019 and climb 90% of the way up. The attached picture is from that hike. It's thanks to reStart that I was able to do that as well as the friends I made from the program. I'm really grateful.
For anyone with questions about my experience feel free to reach out.

The best part of restart is the individualized care and 1 on 1 therapy that every client gets. There's a lot of meeting you where you're at, and working at base level problems, past just the addiction that I found invaluable. The LBP is the program's biggest weakness with how "one size fits all" it appears to be, however I was glad to find that I was able to change it to fit my needs. I just wish that it were written with this in mind, as it feels something like a relic of the past in the current environment of the restart program. Groups are very hit or miss, as they can be very productive and interesting or spiral off into endless tangents based on the clientele and how well the therapist leading it can moderate discussion. The program is also very LGBT friendly, and I met the most supportive and awesome people there, both clients and staff.

The lady that I talked to on the phone Hilarie Cash was very friendly and listened to my problem of having video game addiction, This clinic is very nice on the inside and takes away all your electronics at the door, Even though I never went here. I will say that it is an amazing and well done kind of place. If you want to know more about them then visit their website or call ahead of time to find out how to treat your video game addiction. The people here I called and talked to were very friendly and I had no problem with their service whatsoever, would recommend for anyone who faces an addiction to technology and gaming😀
