I cannot say enough good about the staff at this hospital. They were patient, compassionate, attentive and went above and beyond for me during my stay after another hospital AND an urgent care failed me. I arrived feeling hopeless, let down and incredibly sick and left feeling hopeful, cared for and immensely better within only a few days.

My five star rating is based on my observation and communication while my 93 years old mom (who doesn't remember much of anything) was being treated for UTI and pneumonia. The staff was phenomenal. The staff in the emergency were great, but special thanks goes to the staff on the 4th floor. Dr. Molla, the nurses (Fraoi, Michelle, Elizabeth, Ramata, Lineth), the techs (Tammie and Mireille). Also, thanks to the kind people taking food orders and those that delivered it. And the cleaning ladies were also very polite. I'm sure I forgot a few but thanks to everyone.

My husband had Spinal Surgery by Dr. Mo on June 30 , 2026, Spinal Fusion and Laminectoy L3 to S1. My husband was hesitant to have surgery done as he was expecting a painful recovery . I was glad they gave him around the clock high dose of narcotics and muscle relaxants. Stayed in the hospital for 3 days and pain medication cut down to half a dose upon discharge .Pain medicine was tapered down to off after 25 days . Now 6 weeks after still getting stronger walking with walker and switching to cane sometimes . He is comfortable recuperating . Dr Mo is a very competent surgeon . The hospital is very clean . Nurses were great I was glad the surgery was done as my husband was in severe discomfort which was getting worst and epidural steroids was not holding on one month prior to the surgery . .

My favorite thrift store in the area! Lines get long on sale days which can be a pain if you're someone who's usually only buying a couple things, but they move relatively quick. The home goods are especially reasonably priced. The best part is the donation team. 0 hassle and I can always stop by really quick to donate a ton of stuff or just a few things. Best hours in the area, no appointments needed for smaller things (you just pull up and drive through), I'm in and out really fast, and am always offered a receipt. They're very kind and helpful!

Our daughter was in desperate need of help. Her ED had gotten into a dangerous zone. Out patient therapy was just not enough to bridge the gap for us. We began looking for facilities and this one was semi close. Leaving your child can be very difficult and reading reviews I felt somewhat comfortable with this place. Ilida was really easy to work with. When we arrived, she went through all of the initial paperwork with us and made sure we understood everything before signing. While there our daughter was able to gain weight and understand her relationship with her body image and understand how her eating disorder affected that. The staff was great and quickly developed relationships that were therapeutic with my daughter- helping her use her DBT skills when she would get upset. As a mom, it does your heart good to know that when your child is upset, there is someone there to comfort them when you can’t. She went in having withdrawn into herself, no longer enjoying activities she had previously enjoyed, and as previously mentioned, very sick. She discharged a healthy, happy kiddo! Enjoying activities she hadn’t enjoyed in a long time! The only negative comments I have is that the house was in somewhat of a transition of staff upon our arrival. Our daughter was assigned a virtual therapist & virtual dietician. While both of these individuals were great, we would have much preferred in person facilitation. There were some lapses of communication a few times, but again, staff was/is in transition. When it’s brought to their attention, they are quick to rectify this. At the end of the day, the good definitely outweighs the “bad” and if I had to do it all over again, I would send her there without hesitation. Actually at discharge, our daughter was in tears because while she wanted to come home, she was going to miss several of the staff!

Family Group: Family Group was a good way to find time to explore my issues with my family / loved ones, and allowed them to show support in a safe environment. The timing usually worked out so that people with jobs could make it in however there were some scheduling issues early on (due to staff changes) which were resolved. IOP: IOP was a group therapy experience for people of my age range 18-35. Having a community of non judgemental people who may be experiencing similar things and, being able to find solice or advice in the group allowed for personal reflection and growth. Individual therapy: Personally I enjoyed individual therapy, just a 1 on 1 where you can work out your own problems with your therapist. Sandstone has it scheduled for once every two weeks which I personally felt wasn't enough but, once my feelings were known I was told I could change the schedule which I appreciated. Transportation: Transportation can be provided which I used and is safe and reliable. It was helpful for me to get myself on a schedule. Snacks and refreshments: Snacks can be provided but sometimes (due to shortage in supply, not due to staff) snacks are not always available. However refreshments such as water coffee and tea are always available and are helpful. Psychoeducation: This was my first sort of therapy experience ever in my life and I learned a lot about myself and my own brain. Learning how to combat negative thoughts and my own tendencies about reading people has been helpful towards my growth as a human being. Overall I believe sandstone was a great program. But if you are looking to come know that you will only get out as much as you put in. So if you come in unwilling to learn and with a negative attitude, your results might not be as great as if you are ready and willing to change your life. Shout-out to all the staff (as of 08/27/26) these guys are pretty cool.👍

My review is not so much on RCA but for the person that helped save my husbands life! Tammy M was his therapist there the few times that he had to unfortunately make his way back. She knows what she is doing! She not only did the very best job for him but also kept in constant contact with me which is important. As a loved one it kills you inside to know they are there struggling and you don't have a clue how they are doing. Without Tammy I would have been lost but so would he! She truly is the backbone of RCA! She leads with her heart and that is something you don't always see in this world of recovery.

I would not be where I am today without the help of Recovery Unplugged. I had two 30 day visits with them back in 2019 before moving on to a 90 program in Arizona. Everyone was friendly and you felt like you actually mattered. The musical component of it all was life changing and is still a huge support in my life today. It's outside of the box recovery and if you are looking for a place to start, this is it. I'm coming on six years of sustained recovery and now hold a masters in divinity while thriving in Tucson. I had a great experience and this was my 4th treatment center. It’s not a cookie cutter program and felt very comfortable and welcomed. Since I left I’m still involved with the stuff they do in after care and alumni activities which are great ways to stay connected to a lot of people who truly are still putting in the work to stay sober and a lot of us have become close friends and hang out a few times a week. It’s not uptight like a lot of places which is very helpful in early recovery, the music aspect is great even if you don’t play any instruments, and the housing setup is great as well. The rules are pretty simple. No vaping inside (at the center) and you can’t have your phone during group lol pretty reasonable. Otherwise there’s still a sense of normalcy. Highly recommend to anyone who’s ready to make that 1st big step! I was a bit apprehensive at first and couldn’t be more grateful that I did it. I haven’t felt this good in 20 years!

I honestly don’t know where I would be today without this recovery center. Attending PHP and IOP here has truly been one of the most important decisions I’ve ever made, and I can genuinely say that this place helped save my life. When I came here, I was struggling in ways that are difficult to put into words. I wasn’t sure what my future was going to look like, and I didn’t know if I had it in me to keep fighting. But the staff here met me where I was, showed me compassion when I needed it most, and reminded me that recovery is possible—even on the days when I couldn’t believe it myself. I especially want to recognize Mary, Josh, Brittany, Ifadel, Janina, Heather, Kevin, Brittany and Fredricko. Each of you has made an impact on me in your own way, and I will forever be grateful for the time, patience, encouragement, and genuine care you’ve shown me. You didn’t just treat me like another patient—you treated me like a person who mattered. This experience has given me tools, perspective, hope, and most importantly, a reason to keep moving forward. I still have work to do, but I’m not the same person who walked through those doors. To everyone at this recovery center: thank you for helping me find my way back to myself. I will never forget what you’ve done for me.

I know each person has their own individual experience. When it comes to healthcare and seeing doctors, some are good, some are bad. Well, I experienced the good side of service. Yesterday, at Virginia Hospital Center, I had an in-and-out procedure, and from the time I walked in until the time I left, every individual that came across my path was pleasant, and I enjoyed my experience while I was there. My doctor was amazing. From the anesthesiologists to the nurses, everyone was pleasant. The front desk lady at check-in was also awesome. I'd have to say, if I do have to come back, which I hope I never do, I hope I can get the same service that I received yesterday. 😊 #Healthcare #Experience #Doctors #Nurses #Hospital

I want to express my deepest gratitude to every doctor, nurse, nursing assistant, therapist, chaplain, and staff member who cared for my beloved mom during her stay at VHC Health Arlington from June 14 until she peacefully passed away on July 8. My dad and I stayed by my mom’s side every single day throughout her hospitalization. We witnessed extraordinary compassion, kindness, patience, and professionalism shown by every member of your team. During the most heartbreaking time of our lives, you didn’t just care for my mom , you cared for our entire family. You comforted us, answered our questions, and made us feel supported every step of the way. A very special thank you goes to Dr. Malik. We will never forget your kindness compassion, patience, and the time you spent with us. You answered every question we had with kindness and helped us understand what was best for my mom. You guided us through incredibly difficult decisions with honesty, empathy, and respect. Your support meant more than words can express. I would also like to recognize Nurse Karim on the 3rd Floor, Room 329. Your kindness, gentle care, and compassion brought so much comfort to my mom and to our family. We will always remember the respect and dignity with which you cared for her. A very heartfelt thank you to Nurse Nhien, who was with us on the day my mom passed away. During one of the hardest moments of our lives, your kindness, compassion, and gentle presence brought us so much comfort. We will never forget your warmth and the peace you brought to us that day. To every nurse who cared for my mom on the third floor thank you. Whether you worked during the day or overnight, every one of you treated my mom with kindness, love, dignity, and respect. You made sure she was comfortable, spoke to her with compassion, and cared for her as if she were your own family. You also took the time to comfort my dad and me, and that is something we will never forget. Thank you to every physician, nursing assistant, therapist, chaplain, housekeeping staff, and everyone behind the scenes. Every one of you played a role in making my mom’s final days peaceful and surrounded by compassionate care. Although losing my mom has been the greatest heartbreak of my life, I find comfort knowing she was cared for by such extraordinary people. The third floor, especially Room 329, will always hold a special place in my heart. It became much more than a hospital room it became a place where my mom was surrounded by love, dignity, compassion, and exceptional care during the final chapter of her life. My dad my brother my sister law and I spent every day there with her, I stayed every night with my mom and those memories, along with the incredible people we met, will stay with us forever. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for caring for my mom and for caring for us. Your compassion made an unbearable time a little easier, and my family will be forever grateful. May God bless each and every one of you for the incredible work you do every day. You are truly angels in scrubs, and we will never forget you.🙏❤️ With heartfelt gratitude, Shimu and Family

They are the best substance abuse help i have ever had, and I have had my share. They always take care of me. They listen to me and its not just a cookie cut type of style where one style fits all its what fits me. I love it and I will always come here even when I'm done with my meds. Maybel always makes me laugh and it messes with my blood pressure all the time (that's my excuse). Dona always has on fresh kicks and I'm jealous. Stephanie will always make sure I'm good, making sure I take care of my self. She really cares which is rare in my experience. Fatima digs and makes me deal when I don't want when I know I need to. The team makes it work. That's why I would recommend this place again and again. I feel comfortable and really think its going to work out this time due to them all.

I have had such a great experience at CFD McLean. The staff here are so incredibly supportive and have your back through everything. Amelia, Danielle, Amanda, Kathy, Tony, Lucia, Meta, and Matt deserve a special shout out. This was my first time in treatment and it has been a super emotional experience but all of my worries have been met with compassion and understanding. Not only do I feel like I have come so far in recovery for my ED, but I have found out so much more about my mental health in general and feel much better equipped to deal with stressors. In my experience, all of the staff truly do want what is best for the patients and their recovery. My only complaint has to do with corporate CFD not having urgency to approve things that need to be repaired or fixed. Thank you to everyone who at CFD McLean who was there to support during my stay. I also want to say that all of the staff is very approachable and I have not been mistreated or lied to. There was not a single time I went to staff with a complaint, trigger, or confrontation and left feeling unheard or unsupported.

I met with Dr. Amjad today. He and his staff were very interested in addressing my concerns, were thoughtful and thorough. They were with me for the better part of two hours working toward a better understanding of my condition and developing a strategy to address it. I am most impressed with him and confident that future meetings will be even more productive.

I drank everyday for 17 years following my return from service overseas. The staff was extremely helpful and attentive to my needs as well as the others I met in residential treatment. They definitely were able to reach the root of my alcohol addiction and help put forth a plan for my continued success. I am almost 3 months sober and truly haven't felt better in my life. I believe God put these people in my path to help guide me. Thank you Sagebrush staff. If you do happen to go there, there is a program assistant that is ok at ping pong. Tell him you heard Bobby is the Sagebrush champion!
