The only reason and I mean the only reason I am giving this five stars is because of my counselor Miss Ell when I I'm telling you this woman has helped me so tremendously she saved my life and my family she helped me stay clean when the actual clinic was not doing what they were supposed to be doing for instance this woman found my papers that were sitting behind the reception desk under stack of paper for almost a week a little back side story I had surgery August 25th when in August 26th and tested for a benzo well they took my take-homes away that I had just gotten so it took me all over a few days to get the hospital to fax over my paperwork well she had found it took it to the doctor the doctor said the medication wasn't on there that I was lying. Well missile took it right back to her and showed her it's right here so again she's the one and only reason I have my take homes she's been working on getting me my take homes once again while moving up in my take-homes and there's one doctor there that's never there so it's next to impossible to get take homes but she made it happen and is still trying to make it happen. All I want to say is you have amazing people that work there that keep getting ran away all the time by the employees there that are just there for a paycheck I'm just thankful that she got me on the path that I need to be on mentally and physically before anything happens to her honestly because from here on out I will continue to do good and I will always think of her

I just like to thank God and my lord and Savior Jesus Christ for blessing me with a wonderful counselor like miss elle.my name is Alton Turner I'm know by 2117.and I just wanted to share what a long journey this has been for me in my recovery.my counselor Ms Elle has inspire me to stay clean and sober so well, that I know have 30 days take home.due to her knowledge and perfection in dealing with recovery.she has taught me very inspiring ways to stay clean and sober and how to apply them to my life.i been clean and sober so long due to her encouraging me I have lost count.i can truly say now because of her help that I will not look back and will keep going forward.and I have also encouraged others by using the methods she taught me to stay clean and sober as well.i just want the world to know that this woman has truly made a positive change in my life and many others who have shared their testimony with me about her.once again I pray that God will continue her on this path because she has changed so many lives with her love and compassion she show towards anyone that crosses her path.thank you for letting me share this wonderful experience about my counselor.

I have been at Brightview, since it was Right Path. Dr Zitar was my first doctor and I have been very pleased with every dr I had, except one, and that was fixed that day. Dr Munter was my last dDoctor and he was very, very knowledgeable in recovery medicine and psychology. Where Brightview really shines, and this is for the Chesapeake location, currently is the staff. P.A Knowlton replaced Dr Munter. Even though, she says she not technically a doctor, she knows more about addiction medicine, psychology and the dynamics of recovery then 99 percent all Drs I’ve met. Roe( my counselor ), is exceptional. I would have given more stars, unfortunately the call center and not being able to reach my Dr, directly is a major inconvenience. On site, however, they offer same day appointments, where you can have a prescription, a recovery plan, a staffs worth of Drs, counselors, nurses, and another chance at freedom from addiction within hours. They primarily offer treatment for alcohol and opiates, from what I have seen. This includes medications, dr visits, plus private and personal counseling, with Skype meetings for people who working etc. They also stay up to date with newer medications and go out of their way to make sure the patient has the medication. The things important to individuals receiving treatment, are also important to them. So, if I was just reviewing the innovative dr location with Dr Knowlton and the rest of the staff. I would give them a 5. All the staff ( Ches location) is helpful, knowledgeable, kind and understanding. The site is clean and the service is fast. The call center brings it down considerably. If you’re struggling with addiction, try giving them a call, the medication , the tools, and the counseling, when correctly employed, can possibly give that second chance that can make such a huge difference for individuals struggling with addiction. 🫡🫡8️⃣🌕8️⃣🪯🐉

My experience was up and down here at first, mainly just because I was struggling mentally, emotionally and legally with my substance abuse problem. I didn’t want to bend or conform to the ways this facility was trying to make me, but they weren’t trying to make me do anything. All they wanted to do was help me. And thankfully after almost 10 years of addiction this lovely staff going out of their way to get to know me personally and help me to the best of their abilities. Now I've been clean for 15 months and counting and could not have done it without this facility or its staff. Big thanks to Mr. Tim, all the counselors including my own, Deon and Von and also Support staff like Yoyo, Everis, Tyla and so on including all the friends I made along the way creating important friendships and relationships along the way. I’ve been to MANY other treatment facilities in my life but never to a place that was so dedicated to helping me get better as Fishing Point

I originally left a review on a day with inclement weather when I was irritated they were closed. I'm updating to include the fact that overall..... my experience has been excellent. My counselor (Mallory) is incredible. She never misses a phone call, an appointment time, a request... none of it. She's been a consistent source of positive support in my life. Super grateful that she's my counselor. Honestly, if she left the practice I'd transfer to the BHG closer to my house. I drive extra because she's employed there. The whole team is friendly and supportive (although there was a time a few years ago where that was definitely not true.) I appreciate what these done in my life. I've been able to level out, and am tapering off the medication as we speak. This place probably saved my life. Mallory's the real deal.

I graduated from this six-month program in November 2024. I have been clean since the day I was admitted on May 14, 2024. I wanted to share my experience because this place genuinely saved my life. It is a very restrictive program, and it can be frustrating and uncomfortable at times. However, the staff are transparent about the process from the beginning, so you know exactly what you're signing up for. While I was there, I honestly resented many aspects of the program. Looking back, though, I can see that it gave me the structure and accountability I needed. If you genuinely want to change your life, this program can absolutely help you. I had previously been through two other rehabilitation programs before coming to the ARC, and this is the longest I have ever stayed clean. I also want to mention something that may be helpful to others. I do not believe in God, and I was completely open about that throughout my time in the program. While I was required to participate in the religious aspects of the program, such as church services and Bible study, I was always treated with respect by both the staff and the other participants. No one ever tried to force me to believe or treated me differently because of my views. I'm grateful for my experience here. Today I'm doing better than I ever have, and I genuinely believe this program played a major role in helping me rebuild my life.

DORM AND THERAPY Where to begin, first off I would like to say that my time at BRC was well needed and if I wouldn’t have gone I don’t think I would be half as better as I am now. I had the most AMAZING therapist who worked with me when I felt down, who never doubted my ability to put in the work and effort to get better, and over all brought me and my family back into a healthy relationship and gave us ways to communicate effectively! Miss Courtney (who previously worked in the dorms but later transitioned into a therapist) was an inspiration to me, she was the first worker that I met at BRC, she made my transition a lot smoother than I would’ve expected, she cared for me and supported me. The staff were a great help and that’s one thing I’m going to miss! Miss Kay is a great leader who helped me stand up for my self respectfully but assertively she was very kind and was always there to talk to me when I needed it. Miss Tessa who is the treatment coordinator for the girls dorm was Also a huge help in my treatment. She gave me many ways to think of a situation more positively, and taught me to keep a positive attitude instead of giving up. She was like a “dorm mom” to me and I appreciated that. The school system there is very effective. In about 3 months I had my falling grades that where my previous school turned in tho all passing A’s! There are also teacher assistants who can help with work if a teacher isn’t available, I had the pleasure of meeting a few, but one really stood out to me m.s Kayla was so cool, you could recognize her a mile away from all the keychains she had. She is so sweet and encouraging! MY EXPERIENCE AT BRC I will say when I first got there I expected more of a psych ward, that was not the case at all. The Barry Robeson center is laid out like a collage campus, this reassured me that I wasn’t going to have the experience I thought I would. I was at BRC for 5 1/2 months I arrived in December of 2025 and left in June 2026. My time went by slow but also fast. The days felt long but next thing you knew it was time for bed. I feel like the hardest part about my day/stay was if I ever got a bad phone call. Phone calls can only last 15 minutes but some staff may let a minute slip by if it’s a rough one. Whenever I had bad phone calls I know I would shut down, I know this isn’t the case for everyone. My advice for this is to process with staff (talk). PACKING now I know that there’s a packing list when you get accepted but some of it might be a little unclear You’re allowed to have make up once you reach a thing called phase one, it must be unopened and no Metal, you may have a plastic eyelash curler. You can have hot tools like hair dryer, curling iron, straightener, etc You can have tweezers and nail polish For clothes it can not be too tight and with shorts it must be fingertip length, no off the shoulder, and no low cut shirts. For shoes you can basically have all types, but one thing to be aware of is open toe shoes and crocs can not be worn in the gym. I’m sure there’s a lot I haven’t covered, so if there’s any questions I can answer about my experience I would be more than happy too! BRC is a great place to go too! And I hope everything goes smoothly!!

I was a phase 3 patient during July 2024-November 2024 and I have to say it changed me and my family's life for the better, I had the most amazing staff and I loved them and every single day felt like a summer camp. Although a couple of the kids in my dorm (power) were chill, most would freak out daily and force us into the mpr (where we would evac to when a danger was present) but otherwise i loved it

I’ve been a patient at Affinity Health Center in Norfolk, and I can’t say enough good things about the staff and the care I’ve received there. From the counselors to the nurses and administrative staff, everyone has treated me with kindness, respect, and genuine compassion. One thing that stands out is that they truly put patient care first. Recovery isn’t a one-size-fits-all process, and the staff understands that. They take the time to listen, work with patients individually, and help find solutions when life circumstances make things difficult. Rather than treating patients like a number, they treat them like people. I’ve also appreciated how accommodating and understanding they are. When you’ve demonstrated responsibility and commitment to your recovery, they recognize that and are willing to trust you. That level of respect and flexibility can make a huge difference for people trying to rebuild their lives. Recovery can be challenging, but having a clinic that genuinely cares about its patients makes all the difference. I’m grateful for the support, professionalism, and compassion I’ve experienced at Affinity Health Center, and I would highly recommend them to anyone seeking treatment.

It has taken me a minute to get my life back on track after being released from serving 5 years in the Virginia State Prison System. Trust me I never thought in a million years that 5 years in prison would be a part of my story. But it was part of Gods plan. You see God had to sit me down for 5 years to gain perspective on just how reckless my life had become. Before prison I was a womanizing, home wrecking drunkard. I had no respect towards anyone’s marriage vows, let alone my own. Because I was being selfish I chose to get involved with an old high school girlfriend that was married with 4 kids. Our relationship should have been left in 1995. To spare you the details. I made my usual selfish mistakes and caused so much anger in a woman who truly loved and tried to help me. In that anger she attacked me with fists, instead of responding in my usual humble blocking of fists, I met her with the same rage she had towards me. In the end of this mess I was sentenced to 45 years by a Virginia Judge (https://www.richmondbar.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Chesterfield.pdf )with a 6 years (5 years/2 months with good time) active sentence to serve in the horribly dysfunctional Virginia Prison System. One of the few people that believes in second chances is Dr. Paul Hardy from Recovery 4 Recovery for Life. Because the Virginia DOC system is so corrupt and dysfunctional I didn’t have a home plan nor was my Interstate Compact Completed in time for me to return to Washington State. I honestly had no where to go once I was released! All I had to my name was $1200 on my books from a measly .45 cents/hour job in prison and what ever my family was able scrape up and send to me. Dr. Paul took a chance on having someone convicted of a violent crime (domestic battery) and offered me a second chance by allowing me to live at the recovery house. This opportunity allowed me the time to get back on my feet while I waited (2 months) for my Interstate Compact to be approved for Washington State. If it wasn’t for Recovery 4 Life, Dr. Paul, and the awesome owners (Stacie Gallinal) of Marco’s Pizza at 1544 Laskin Rd #212, Virginia Beach, VA 23451. I honestly could have been homeless and jobless. You see if you just listen to Gods plan. He will provide you all the help you need if you’re willing to accept it! I hope one day to share my testimony with the world. God Bless Chris Acheson

Friendly staff. The ladies gave my little one some crayons and spiderman coloring pages while we wait. The waiting room didn't take long either so it was a nice experience for someone who is new to the city. The transaction was easy to understand as well.
