Arrowwood has been a great experience. The people here make all the difference. Jamie is EXCELLENT at what he does as an alumni coordinator. He does amazing peer support work. Keegan, Jess, Ms. T, and Ajai are phenomenal group facilitators. Uschell, Joel, Suge, Quan, Claud, Crystal, and Tracy are amazing BHT's. Everyone is so supportive. The facility is great, very clean, and lots of things to do here. I would recommend to a friend.

I just want to take a moment to thank Arrowwood and their entire team. I’ve had several friends—and even family members—go through their program, and every single one of them has had nothing but great things to say. They always mention how beautiful the facility is, but more importantly, how genuinely kind, caring, and supportive the staff are on a personal level. Thank you all for the amazing work you do—please keep it up!

it's a mostly good place. not all the staff are my favorite, but that's going to happen anywhere. the new director was handed a pile of mess and is trying to make the best of it while making things better at the same time, and she's doing the best she can with what she was given from what I can tell. most of these patients just don't have.... patience. I've seen them corner staff members and scream at them for being held outside while a patient is having a medical emergency in the lobby. they only care about themselves, and there are no employees or security on drugs or smoking pot outside.I'm hopeful they can get to a place where they can have a really good crew that stays for a long time and works cohesively together. I'm glad this clinic is here for those of us that need it.the only staff member I truly have an issue with is a counselor (?) Sarah. I'm not sure what her problem is but she looks at us and treats us like we're just a bunch of junkies and nothing more. she is rude to clinic patients, she's not understanding to any situation, she lies to patients just so she doesn't have to do something, or even try, and the worst one: she also breaks HIPAA - her office is right off the lobby & if you're standing there, you can hear both sides of her entire Zoom call therapy appointments because she keeps her door wide open during these calls. I heard everything one young woman said in her appointment, very personal things. she should be ashamed of herself. the behavior I have seen from her is honestly unacceptable, and I don't believe this is the job for her. if you think addicts are beneath you, you shouldn't be working here Sarah.

I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who is struggling with addiction. For the first time in my life I have found a place with a staff that not only cares deeply for their patients, but also do not make their patients feel judged. They really do seem to care beyond any other facility I have been to, and I have been to several. I still have a long way to go, but just knowing that they see their patients as human beings who are in a lot of pain emotionally and mentally, and not just junkies , is what gives me the strength and courage to keep trying. The staff is absolutely amazing. I will forever be grateful for this , facility, the staff, and the doctors associated with this treatment program.

This program at this facility helped me work my own recovery. I had good and okay counselors the one I'm moving facilities from I will miss greatly. She advocated for my constant part in the program I followed their program and in turn I have been rewarded with freedom from my active addiction. Even if I need to be in this program longer than other people think, I'll always be grateful to this place and the professionals that showed up every single day so I didn't have to be a street addict anymore with no way of accomplishing mental health and sucess. Thank you, I hope the next pinnacle in my journey sets a gold star like all of you!

I wish I could remember the staff names and students of the school program, I only went to the school program. I was a behavioral student there from 1997-1999 so that's about 26 years ago wow, I had my mindset on overcoming all obstacles that were in my way pertaining to home, socially, academically, and inwardly. I didn't know how but as I allowed my mind and heart to be receptive towards the teachers and staff that was there to empower me with the tools morally and behaviorally, there was nothing gonna stop me. Now I went thru the PMI program, New horizon, all kinds of off-site programs dealing with my behaviors, it was up to me to change it and stay in control over my temper and attitude. Everyday wasn't perfect but my mind was set on becoming a better me and to also help others who had that temper and personal home problems as myself. It was one of my greatest experiences I've ever experienced in the school systems throughout Virginia, cause being expelled from a whole jurisdiction meant I was self destructive and to the child I had also who was 4 at the time but I'm grateful for this program and with all do respect I wish we had a year book or something to be able to locate peers, and staff. I loved Mrs Betty from the from office, Mrs Beth the P.E coordinator, also Laurie was the best she really went out her way for a lot of us and she was down to earth like on our level of understanding and talk that talk too. It's always a lesson if it's not looked at as a lesson.

I am writing the review I wish I could have seen before having my child admitted to the residential treatment facility. He was there for 8 months. It was an overall positive experience for both myself and my kid. They came out with the tools to regulate sobriety and anger, which were both major issues prior to admission. The downsides were communication with case management and the education staff. I wish I had intervened earlier with the educational issues, but we were able to get them resolved. Thankfully, communication with the primary therapist was great!Other reviews are mixed. Sometimes they liked the food, other times they did not. There were some squabbles on the unit (imagine being among a dozen teens with behavioral issues 24 hours a day). He had disputes with a few staff members, but thought most staff were nice. Several stopped in to offer encouragement and tell him that they believed in him when we were going through the discharge process.Sending your kid to long term treatment is a hard decision, but I m glad I decided to move forward . It had been a long time since I felt hopeful about his future.

While during transitions things are usually always rocky and a bit unsettled as can be expected, Ive seen the positive greatly outweigh any of the negitive in the almost 3 yrs. I have been a patient. If you follow the rules and the handbook given on your first day, there are normally no problems. Occasionally things do happen as with any buss. Or situation. If you really want the help, it is there. The entire staff from councilors to nursing to admin. Truely cares about people, and it shows. Today, I wittnessed a medical emergency happen in the waiting room. Staff went above and beyond in handling it. Most Especially the nurse in charge Ms. Carol. She showed total class and professionalism in how she handled the situation as well as showed her personal side and that she really cares about her patients. She really deserves an extra day off paid or somthing of the nature as she earned it and then some this morning. She made sure everything was handled by protocal and also stayed right beside the lady reassuing her she was there, had 9q1 on the way, and that she would be ok. As scary as the situation was, Ms. Carol remained capm and focused the entire time. Being it was a half an hour before closing on a Sat. With a packed waiting room, I am quite sure she had to also stay late. Its easy to complain about things we dont like. What I wittnessed today with staff really touched my heart and I fealt the need to share some POSITIVE about an expierence at BHG.

As a graduate of this program I am just here to refute the negative review left by a former beneficiary. Before you enter the program you are given in detail what you are signing up for. You are told from the beginning this is a Work Therapy program, and that you will have to attend Christian based spiritual classes and services. The resident managers have to deal with up to 100 something men so please don't listen to that one negative review about the program itself and about the program employees who's names should not be mentioned. Without God placing me here I would be on the street, dead in my addiction or worse. They do not force you to stay. The doors are meant to keep randoms out, not to keep someone unwilling to change their life, in. If you are struggling with addiction, or want to grow in your relationship with Christ, or even if you have no religion you are welcome here. But again, this is a work Therapy, Christian based program. Those who complain know exactly what they are signing up for . God bless.

She has really been a great influence on me she has given me tools and information I can use for the rest of my life. Since working with her I have learned how to have self control meaning I ve learned how to process my thoughts, think before I speak I ve finally learned how to stop and take a breath or take a moment to count down and think before I react which is something I ve been working on my whole life and with her coaching me along the way I have finally mastered the task. from aug-dec 2024, i was placed into brc. brc is so interesting. people hate it, people somehow take a mini-liking to it. for me, it was a mix. one thing i tell you- u gotta stay TREATMENT FOCUSED. there is going to be so much drama, lots of hatred, annoyingness and ignorance from other residents and staff. many people do not like the place but in all honestly, it helped. it may not be help to all, maybe because this is not a good treatment plan or they are choosing to refuse. but i had ups & downs, but i made it ! the residents and staff can be really fun, and also can do a 360. honestly, you learn to focus on yourself and the thing ab living with other people going through other behavioral and mental issues, you learn consideration. remember all people are going thru something. school is easy though, its barely real school. food is decently good! overall. this place isnt as bad, its ALRIGHT. but, just really focus on treatment, it helps. and do not be afraid to ask for a different treatment plan or therapist!! enjoy your stay hopefully

I went to get help and they end up TDOing me because I guess they realized my problems were a lot more serious than even I realized. One of the head nurse practitioners I believe is named Alison and she s very smart lady concerned with actually helping people. The place just seems understaffed at times which doesn t allow for everyone s needs to be met. I remember one time specifically a man was exposing himself multiple times and there were no security guards so the female nurses had to take care of it. There s also little issues like not enough towels or clothes so maybe bring your own if you can. Waiting for meds can be quite long too. Overall an alright place but there s better like Virginia Beach Psychiatric Hospital in my opinion. Groups can be sort of discombobulated at The Pavilion as well. A lot of the nurses are great though like Aaliyah and Linda. The social workers do a great job as well I wish their job wasn t so stressful for them.

I want to give this place a ten star if it was possible, Anyone given this place anything different? In my opinion, either didn't want the help or they expected to be in a ten star motel and maybe thought they were entitled because i'm not ashamed to say I was in four other places in virginia and they were dumps. The food in the pavilion was great, And I'm not homeless. Or under privileged, And with that being said, I like to share my story, I went there Broken down to my lowest ever, Didn't think I had a reason to live, Had no compassion, Empathy or sympathyno regard for life, Half the time I didn't know I existed. The staff there were caring and compassionate and caring for their patients, They weren't There just because it was a job. They put their hearts and helping to serve each patients' needs& gave everyone their utmost respect no matter what there problems were. In fact, as my experience, I was very blessed. And thank the good lord for putting these people in my life and giving me and showing me a reason to live and love and to appreciate the life I have. I want to thank everyone there. And especially these, who were part of my life each day, I was there who I want to say made me feel they were angels of mercy.,who Who are the reason I can now walk with my head held high, taught me to have Compassion for life to never give up, to love the life I have and how to deal with every situation that comes in this imperfect world, I wouldn't had this knowledge if it wasn't for the people who showed compassion to everyone, and if I hadn't seen this through lim helping others, I would have never opened up my self, It came from their hearts and their true being for wanting to help others. There was nothing fake about them. They were truly in it for they're wanting to help people who couldn't face life and life's challenges, With this being said, I'd like to thank these people straight from my heart, and for being what I believe was a miracle in my life who I could never repay enough for their saving me. Miss Toyna,Ms.Christine, Anthony, Bryan, Ms.Alexis, Ms.Italia You go girl you rock, And last but nevertheless thank you Ms.Aldo, For all the time you spent helping me with my anger problem and putting up with me and my episodes. Thank you so much.. Thank you all for giving me my life back. All I have is love and respect for you all.what I got from this ordeal was ( Make my weakness, my strong and my strong stronger)

You will not find a better treatment provider. I have been going here for more than 10 years. They take what they do seriously and they really do care about people. I could write pages about how they have helped me and how I always felt like they were listening whenever I had any concerns. Just outstanding people. Do yourself a favor and call them. You won't regret it.
