Newport News, VA | American Addiction Treatment Center is affiliated with the Pinnacle Treatment Centers network. This clinic is in Newport News, Virginia. Their main treatment options are medication assisted treatment and outpatient counseling for adults and pregnant women. Medication assisted treatment consists of meds that can help you with your withdrawal pains a | Treatments Programs Payment Options | it's a mostly good place. not all the staff are my favorite, but that's going to happen anywhere. the new director was handed a pile of mess and is trying to make the best of it while making things better at the same time, and she's doing the best she can with what she was given from what I can tell. most of these patients just don't have.... patience. I've seen them corner staff members and scream at them for being held outside while a patient is having a medical emergency in the lobby. they only care about themselves, and there are no employees or security on drugs or smoking pot outside.
I'm hopeful they can get to a place where they can have a really good crew that stays for a long time and works cohesively together. I'm glad this clinic is here for those of us that need it.
the only staff member I truly have an issue with is a counselor (?) Sarah. I'm not sure what her problem is but she looks at us and treats us like we're just a bunch of junkies and nothing more. she is rude to clinic patients, she's not understanding to any situation, she lies to patients just so she doesn't have to do something, or even try, and the worst one: she also breaks HIPAA - her office is right off the lobby & if you're standing there, you can hear both sides of her entire Zoom call therapy appointments because she keeps her door wide open during these calls. I heard everything one young woman said in her appointment, very personal things. she should be ashamed of herself. the behavior I have seen from her is honestly unacceptable, and I don't believe this is the job for her. if you think addicts are beneath you, you shouldn't be working here Sarah.

I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who is struggling with addiction. For the first time in my life I have found a place with a staff that not only cares deeply for their patients, but also do not make their patients feel judged. They really do seem to care beyond any other facility I have been to, and I have been to several. I still have a long way to go, but just knowing that they see their patients as human beings who are in a lot of pain emotionally and mentally, and not just “junkies” , is what gives me the strength and courage to keep trying. The staff is absolutely amazing. I will forever be grateful for this , facility, the staff, and the doctors associated with this treatment program.

This program at this facility helped me work my own recovery. I had good and okay counselors the one I'm moving facilities from I will miss greatly. She advocated for my constant part in the program I followed their program and in turn I have been rewarded with freedom from my active addiction. Even if I need to be in this program longer than other people think, I'll always be grateful to this place and the professionals that showed up every single day so I didn't have to be a street addict anymore with no way of accomplishing mental health and sucess. Thank you, I hope the next pinnacle in my journey sets a gold star like all of you!

To therapists like Jessica and Mrs. White who help break things down there’s no room for failures. I am my biggest critic. So I just needed some sustenance from the cooks to keep me going and that’s the best part. They worked day in and day out to keep us all fed. All in all it was a great time, I couldn’t have asked for a greater support system from Jay who would always pause and take the time to talk and listen to any of our grievances to the nurses like charnel and heather who are always down to give advice and support. This addiction treatment center focuses on providing substance abuse treatment through an integration of outcomes-based medicine, medication-assisted treatment, and outpatient care. Those attending this rehab center will receive case management service | Treatments Programs Payment Options | The only reason and I mean the only reason I am giving this five stars is because of my counselor Miss Ell when I I'm telling you this woman has helped me so tremendously she saved my life and my family she helped me stay clean when the actual clinic was not doing what they were supposed to be doing for instance this woman found my papers that were sitting behind the reception desk under stack of paper for almost a week a little back side story I had surgery August 25th when in August 26th and tested for a benzo well they took my take-homes away that I had just gotten so it took me all over a few days to get the hospital to fax over my paperwork well she had found it took it to the doctor the doctor said the medication wasn't on there that I was lying. Well missile took it right back to her and showed her it's right here so again she's the one and only reason I have my take homes she's been working on getting me my take homes once again while moving up in my take-homes and there's one doctor there that's never there so it's next to impossible to get take homes but she made it happen and is still trying to make it happen. All I want to say is you have amazing people that work there that keep getting ran away all the time by the employees there that are just there for a paycheck I'm just thankful that she got me on the path that I need to be on mentally and physically before anything happens to her honestly because from here on out I will continue to do good and I will always think of her

As a graduate of this program I am just here to refute the negative review left by a former beneficiary. Before you enter the program you are given in detail what you are signing up for. You are told from the beginning this is a Work Therapy program, and that you will have to attend Christian based spiritual classes and services. The resident managers have to deal with up to 100 something men so please don't listen to that one negative review about the program itself and about the program employees who's names should not be mentioned. Without God placing me here I would be on the street, dead in my addiction or worse. They do not force you to stay. The doors are meant to keep randoms out, not to keep someone unwilling to change their life, in. If you are struggling with addiction, or want to grow in your relationship with Christ, or even if you have no religion you are welcome here. But again, this is a work Therapy, Christian based program. Those who complain know exactly what they are signing up for . God bless.

They couldn't get a hold of them at first and they asked if I wanted them to keep trying. Instead of giving up I said yes... And they second time they got a hold of the director and she said they would still dose me... Thank you guys. I understand people have lives but thank you for considering mine today. Kara Zuege had these remarks about Ms. Elle.
Ms. Elle has given me something I’ve been without for a very long time: true support and someone in my corner. With her assistance, I have been able to set both mental and physical goals and work toward achieving them. I appreciate her so much for reminding me what it feels like to accomplish something and to experience the reward of putting forth effort and working hard.
She has guided me not only in my journey of overcoming substance abuse but also in many other areas of my life. I feel more than blessed to have been assigned to Ms. Elle, who has always gone above and beyond expectations and has been there every step of the way to keep me grounded and focused on the prize.
I look forward to continuing this journey with one of BHG’s best counselors.

my review is specifically of the APY unit, the lesser intensity of the 2 adult units. Listen, nobody likes being admitted to a recovery center. it’s not a luxury hotel, it is designed to keep you safe and regulate you and this place serves its purpose well. The care team genuinely has a heart for providing care for the patients (with maybe one or two misfit employees who arent as motivated by kindness, as in any work force.) I felt respected and dignified during my stay there. i watched staff interact with difficult patients and offer them the same grace and dignity. The groups were largely effective and the meals were as to be expected with regards to my dietary needs. daily art therapy was delightful! I didnt love having to be there but i want anyone considering APY to know i had a positive experience. I don’t want to return but if i ever need to i would know i’d be in capable hands.

Our teen was struggling with her mental health and we had tried various avenues to get her the assistance she was needing, but nothing was even creating any level of a break through. We found BRC, which for us is across the country, and it was exactly what our teen needed. We had the best therapist for individual & family therapy. Staff were so helpful from start to finish. My child now says that she doesn’t know where she would be if we didn’t find BRC and is excited to update the staff as time goes on, with how she’s excelling because of how much work they put into her wellbeing. I do believe that BRC is largely what the teens make of it, hence some of the reviews. But we had such a positive experience with BRC and are thankful for the incredible staff

I was at the Barry Robinson Center for about six months. I arrived there in about December and left in June or July. Here’s a brief summary of how my experience looked like. First when you arrive, you have signatures to sign and paperwork to go over. You consent to stay at BRC for however long it takes for you and whoever you’re having altercations with, to be solved. Then, you go into your a nursing area and get your medications checked in. Right after, you’re off to your age-selected dorm to get your clothes and bedroom set. It’s about a 3-4 hour process, but you’ll get through it. Here’s more in depth experiences. At times, there may be things called codes. These are where kids in your dorm are throwing objects, arguing with dorm personnel, or just refusing to go anywhere. This could happen occasionally, or all the time. It could also last either 30 minutes, or up to an hour. Another situation that has happened is just pure arguing. For example, someone is watching a television show, a kid walks in wanting to change it, then they start arguing over it for no reason. This will most likely happen here, but the therapists will teach you ways on how to cope with it. My closing statements are that I want to thank the Barry Robinson Center Residential Coaches, Chefs, Nursing Staff, Therapists, my old therapist, Janitors, and whoever else I didn’t mention. If I had a child that was going through a problem I couldn’t solve, I would send them here and get them proper help they need. Thank you for reading this. ✌️ - Jackson

I appreciate my loved one being taken care of here recently. My loved one had a unique situation where most medications gave them an allergic reaction. This is something I knew before sending them to the Pavilion. We were still in the trial phase of finding the right medication. I knew that they weren't getting better so I sent them there. The Pavilion was able to end their 7 months of suffering in 3 weeks of staying there. They received a new medication tailored to her unique situation. The facility looks nice and staff are nice when you visit. I want to thank Nurse Ebony, Nurse Key, Social Worker Kenya, and Patient Advocate Maira. There are cons to every place. I feel like they need to hire a receptionist specifically for the nurses for when they are on the floor and can't respond. The social workers should call at least once out of the week versus loved ones sending an email first to contact. I feel like there should have been more communication without me having to call first. I would recommend this place. It is a temporary stay to get people stabilized this is not supposed to be a luxury vacation. Most people in this situation want to come home because this is a hard time for them and they want their life to go back to normal. When my loved one called me and I asked if the staff was treating them well and they replied "yes", that is what mattered the most!

Virginia Beach, VA | Meridian Psychotherapy Services, LLC is a private psychotherapy group in Virginia Beach, Virginia. They treat clients with substance use and/or co occurring mental health disorders. They provide medication management, psychiatric evaluations, outpatient detox with Suboxone and treatment for a range of mental health issues. Care is provided by licen | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I became a patient here a little over a year ago under the care of Morgan Scott. I had a lot going on with my mental health that I wasn't managing properly. From the moment I sat down in front of her I knew I was in the right place. She provides an instant sense of security. You never feel like you're misunderstood or dismissed in any way. She makes incredible eye contact which adds to me knowing she's truly actively listening to me. She encouraged me to go get a full psych eval at another facility where I learned all of my diagnoses and my whole life immediately made more sense than it ever had. She's gotten me on all of the right meds and I'm the most stable and regulated I've ever been. I owe so much to her and she's too humble to even realize it. I'm getting confidence in myself back and feeling more comfortable with who I am than ever before. I don't believe I would have gotten anywhere near as to where I am right now had she not come into my orbit. She's compassionate, caring, understanding, a great listener, an absolute sweetheart, and she has the most amazing heart. She's truly saving lives and making more of a difference in this world than than she realizes. The world needs more people like her, though there could never be another her. She is 1,000% in the profession she should be in and I would recommend her to anyone and everyone!!
The ladies at the front window are also incredible. They know you by name the second they see you and are always so warm and friendly. I've never been to any medical office where everyone there just brings the highest levels of comfort. No one ever seems frustrated to be there or comes off like they'd rather be somewhere else. It's become a thing for me to bring them home baked treats at every visit and making food for people is one of my love languages. But just anyone doesn't get that from me... Morgan and the ladies up front deserve it though and I love being able to share that with them!! My monthly appts are something I actually look forward to and I will never go anywhere else for my meds unless I'm forced against my will!! 😆 🤣

We brought our loved one (Alzheimer's/Dementia) to see Morgan Scott. After just one visit, I can say we are very pleased! The entire staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and obviously care. Morgan did a great job taking care of our loved one, and we left the visit with the paperwork we needed for the estate planning. No waiting. No hassles. Highly recommend.

This location has amazing staff; everyone is kind, compassionate, and open-minded. When everything else is going wrong this is a place I can go to remind me that there are similar people with similar experiences and that you don’t have to go through it alone. Thank you.

Miss Whitfield is amazing! 10/10 WOULD RECOMMEND!! Haven’t been open to therapy or taking on my mental health as seriously as I should but SHE is definitely an asset to the whole office. She’s very professional, comfortable to talk to, warm & inviting, and more than open minded to help you and figure out a course of action with whatever you may be involved with.
