Ashburn, VA | You’ll find Embark Behavioral Health in a quiet residential area in Ashburn, Virginia. Their past clients mention finding the offices welcoming and calming. They work with adolescents ages nine and up, teenagers and young adults up to the age of 28. They are welcoming to anyone in the LGBTQ+ community. Their programs are designed to treat menta | Treatments Programs | I joined Embark Behavioral Health’s Young Adult IOP program in November 2024 after withdrawing from college. I was burnt-out, struggling with depression and OCPD. I frequently felt overwhelmed and hopeless. I had no idea what to expect, as Embark was the first group program I had ever committed to. I had a history of therapy either being ineffective - whether due to external factors or my own resistance to change.
The group therapist and my personal therapist are phenomenal at their job - and more importantly - as individuals. I received an incredible amount of support and compassion from them. They shared their knowledge with me, and I have learned to be comfortable with discomfort. Every staff member helped me work through my depressive symptoms and restart my life. I am now able to reframe the self-doubt that inhibited my growth. I have built a foundation of agency and empowerment that secures my self-esteem. Moreover, the skills I developed at Embark have become habits that I can continue to work on.
I gained an entirely new perspective on my academic, career, and personal path - I am really excited for it. I graduate from the program this week, and while healing and progress are not linear, I am motivated to keep moving forward. I have also seen immense growth in my groupmates, and I am very proud of them. I am beyond grateful for this experience.

Embark at Ashburn is the absolute best outpatient treatment in the area. My child who turned 18 while in treatment with them experienced a seamless transition from the teen to the young adult program. Her therapist and medication provider were extremely accessible and knowledgeable. She is a completely different person. Embark changed our lives and saved our daughters. I would recommend Embark at Ashburn to any family who has a teen or young adult struggling with mental health. We’ve been through many treatment programs and this was our last stop finally :) thank you Embark!!

The program and support is great, but once you finish no resources are provided. No follow-up with patients. They are all about profit. The providers can't even provide outside resources. This should be a warning sign they are out to make money.

I had a great experience and this was my 4th treatment center. It’s not a cookie cutter program and felt very comfortable and welcomed. Since I left I’m still involved with the stuff they do in after care and alumni activities which are great ways to stay connected to a lot of people who truly are still putting in the work to stay sober and a lot of us have become close friends and hang out a few times a week. It’s not uptight like a lot of places which is very helpful in early recovery, the music aspect is great even if you don’t play any instruments, and the housing setup is great as well. The rules are pretty simple. No vaping inside (at the center) and you can’t have your phone during group lol pretty reasonable. Otherwise there’s still a sense of normalcy. Highly recommend to anyone who’s ready to make that 1st big step! I was a bit apprehensive at first and couldn’t be more grateful that I did it. I haven’t felt this good in 20 years!

I honestly don’t know where I would be today without this recovery center. Attending PHP and IOP here has truly been one of the most important decisions I’ve ever made, and I can genuinely say that this place helped save my life.
When I came here, I was struggling in ways that are difficult to put into words. I wasn’t sure what my future was going to look like, and I didn’t know if I had it in me to keep fighting. But the staff here met me where I was, showed me compassion when I needed it most, and reminded me that recovery is possible—even on the days when I couldn’t believe it myself.
I especially want to recognize Mary, Josh, Brittany, Ifadel, Janina, Heather, Kevin, Brittany and Fredricko. Each of you has made an impact on me in your own way, and I will forever be grateful for the time, patience, encouragement, and genuine care you’ve shown me. You didn’t just treat me like another patient—you treated me like a person who mattered.
This experience has given me tools, perspective, hope, and most importantly, a reason to keep moving forward. I still have work to do, but I’m not the same person who walked through those doors.
To everyone at this recovery center: thank you for helping me find my way back to myself. I will never forget what you’ve done for me.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to every doctor, nurse, nursing assistant, therapist, chaplain, and staff member who cared for my beloved mom during her stay at VHC Health Arlington from June 14 until she peacefully passed away on July 8.
My dad and I stayed by my mom’s side every single day throughout her hospitalization. We witnessed extraordinary compassion, kindness, patience, and professionalism shown by every member of your team. During the most heartbreaking time of our lives, you didn’t just care for my mom , you cared for our entire family. You comforted us, answered our questions, and made us feel supported every step of the way.
A very special thank you goes to Dr. Malik. We will never forget your kindness compassion, patience, and the time you spent with us. You answered every question we had with kindness and helped us understand what was best for my mom. You guided us through incredibly difficult decisions with honesty, empathy, and respect. Your support meant more than words can express.
I would also like to recognize Nurse Karim on the 3rd Floor, Room 329. Your kindness, gentle care, and compassion brought so much comfort to my mom and to our family. We will always remember the respect and dignity with which you cared for her.
A very heartfelt thank you to Nurse Nhien, who was with us on the day my mom passed away. During one of the hardest moments of our lives, your kindness, compassion, and gentle presence brought us so much comfort. We will never forget your warmth and the peace you brought to us that day.
To every nurse who cared for my mom on the third floor thank you. Whether you worked during the day or overnight, every one of you treated my mom with kindness, love, dignity, and respect. You made sure she was comfortable, spoke to her with compassion, and cared for her as if she were your own family. You also took the time to comfort my dad and me, and that is something we will never forget.
Thank you to every physician, nursing assistant, therapist, chaplain, housekeeping staff, and everyone behind the scenes. Every one of you played a role in making my mom’s final days peaceful and surrounded by compassionate care.
Although losing my mom has been the greatest heartbreak of my life, I find comfort knowing she was cared for by such extraordinary people.
The third floor, especially Room 329, will always hold a special place in my heart. It became much more than a hospital room it became a place where my mom was surrounded by love, dignity, compassion, and exceptional care during the final chapter of her life. My dad my brother my sister law and I spent every day there with her, I stayed every night with my mom and those memories, along with the incredible people we met, will stay with us forever.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for caring for my mom and for caring for us. Your compassion made an unbearable time a little easier, and my family will be forever grateful.
May God bless each and every one of you for the incredible work you do every day. You are truly angels in scrubs, and we will never forget you.🙏❤️

Vienna, VA | Embark Behavioral Health at Tysons Corner, in Vienna, Virginia, offers addiction and behavioral health services to boys and girls between the ages of 12 and 17. They offer several levels of care which all fall under the category of outpatient care. These include standard outpatient care, intensive outpatient care and partial hospitalization care. T | Treatments Payment Options | I recently had the opportunity to visit Embark Behavioral Health, and one of the first things that stood out is how convenient the Tysons location is—easy to access, yet set in a way that still feels calm and contained.
From the moment I walked in, the space felt intentional and genuinely welcoming—something that’s not always easy to achieve in behavioral health settings. There’s a thoughtful balance here: it’s structured and clearly designed to support meaningful work, while still feeling open, comfortable, and human.
What stood out most to me was how the environment supports both focus and connection. There are defined spaces to get things done, but nothing feels closed off or isolating. There’s a sense that people are visible, supported, and part of something shared—whether that’s during structured programming or more informal moments of social connection.
Meeting members of the team only reinforced that impression. Everyone I interacted with was engaged, grounded, and clearly invested in the work they’re doing. It gave me confidence not just in the program itself, but in the experience clients and families would have navigating it day to day.

I have taken several program participants to various medical and mental health appointments over the years both in Virginia and in Maryland and was hands down super impressed with the staff at the CSB juvenile, adult, and emergency services. There was quite a wait for emergency services but each department communicated with each other and was so polite. Brian Stewart is one of the few names that we caught but he was phenomenal. The staff checked on us, fed us, and gave us blankets. We saw them touching base with some individuals who were clearly in crisis and they were just so patient and caring. Dr. Smith was our emergency services doc and I wish he could see people regularly because he was funny and he made my program participant feel heard. I have been with an individual to the primary care as well and enjoyed the collaboration with DO Pristell.

Four days in a coma and 7 more days recovering and I’m all good. I would be remiss without mentioning all the amazing staff involved in my exemplary care - the ICU nurses - William, Nancy and Ian. The acute care nurse Stephen and Brenda , Dr Posorske- the best infectious disease physician in the world , Dr Shrestha, the Navy Doc - I love you I forgot your name - you know who you are , the respiratory technicians who all helped me breathe better - I can go on and on ..I am crying grateful tears of joy as I type this. This is the best and most Special Hospital in the DMV. I and my family and friends will forever be indebted to Suburban Hospital for saving my life when for all intents and purposes I should’ve been dead due to the severity and fungal form of pneumonia which didn’t respond to the typical antibiotics given to pneumonia patients. Mine was due to a rare fungus infection which responded to the anti fungal Voriconazole - any other hospital would’ve given up on me but no not Suburban hospital - Dr Posorske who ordered a biopsy based on a hunch of hers and lo and behold her hunch was correct and my WBCs that were at 40k began to quickly decrease and I regained my ability to breathe and ultimately my life within 48 hours . Thank you Suburban Hospital and God bless Suburban Hospital and all its staff. So in conclusion , in my opinion the best hospital in our area and frankly in the country is Suburban Hospital- please go or take your loved ones here you will be thrilled.

I was admitted in 2023 with urinary infections symptoms. The admissions/ER part was nothing to write home about and I was discharged after 12h with a clean TC scan and antibiotics.
I really appreciated how they contacted my American friend (as I was visiting I did not have a US number) to let her know how my tests were showing a sepsis and urging me to go back to the hospital. After another night in ER, I was finally admitted into a room and the service there was impeccable: enough room and comfort for my partner to stay with me, excellent food, high-energy, professional nurses and doctors willing to answer any question during my 3-days stay.

Thanks for Mary Crenshaw for helping us while we were here! We had to stay fairly late and she gave great advice and made sure that we would be helped.

I received treatment at SGBH last year, and I am glad I was able to get help. Everyone was respectable, and many were friendly. If anyone is having a mental health crisis, they should be glad SGBH is around to help them.

Annandale, VA | Fairfax Methadone Treatment Center (FMTC) in Annandale, Virginia, provides private outpatient opioid addiction treatment for adult men and women aged 18 and older. They’re part of a family of outpatient centers located throughout Virginia and North Carolina. Annandale is located just 30 minutes from D.C. It is a great place for opioid treatment | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I came to Annandale Comprehensive Treatment from another clinic and my transfer was smooth sailing. I have currently been at this location for 6 months. My experience has been great. All of the staff are extremely kind and welcoming. I was amazed to find out the clinic was owned by the same company I had just left, (bc of a move) and in the process of changing over. I can imagine that the transition could be extremely stressful. My experience was the transition has been a fairly seamless one. I think the new company is doing great and everyone has worked together to make a great MAT facility. This clinic has only improved since I've been here. Although it's a very small clinic there is never a wait, I am in and out quickly. My counselor is wondeful and does not have the "treatment burnout," that often happens in MAT settings. All of the counselors are extremely helpful. If you follow the simple rules, this clinic will work for you. I must mention before closing that the front desk ladies are the best!! Having someone smile and ask you how you are doing is thoughtful. Thanks to everyone that makes this place work. If you are considering going to Annandale Comprehensive treatment, go. If you are serious about getting clean, you will have great people behind you, supporting you and helping as much as possible.

The staff, including front desk, nurses, and counselors are all very friendly ,personable, and most importantly, CARING. I have great rapport with my current counselor (and I pray she stays!), which makes me feel open and at ease in our meetings. The current head nurse has also been great. I really could keep mentioning specific staff members, they have all been great and accommodating to me. The staff seriously all go above and beyond in my experience with them, which makes the recovery process so much easier.

Idk what other folks experiences might be but I came here from CCG and have no regrets. I had the same issue with counselors as the previous review, but only because someone left and they had to fill that vacant position. That issue has been resolved and they couldn't have found a better person for the position. I feel like my new counselor cares just as much as the previous one and they are well experienced, coming from a previous addiction counseling position. Everytime I come in, I'm greeted by all and treated like I'm more than just an addict. If you have issues about something at any treatment center, it's usually because of your own actions and not doing whatever you're supposed to be doing on your end. Anyhow, when I was at that other place, I can't count the times I could not Dose because of the nurse calling off, the computer is down or they can't get in the safe etc. Having to go to work or back home, while starting to feeling horrible and of course that leads to going right back to those old habits. CCG has been through idk how many people in the 4 years I was there. They couldn't keep a front desk person, Testing person, counselors or a full time doctor. It was 3 months before I could get more take homes because there was no doctor. At the Institute I only witnessed one time when the computer was down but they were still dosing and getting it done. Plus multiple dosing windows so there's never a wait more than 5- 10 mins or less because multiple ppl are getting a month worth of take homes, which is rare. No need for a screen with a list that everyone has to keep checking and counting how many people are in front of them. Also, those groups are only used at other places to get as many people they can to write fake reviews, for either gift cards or food. Point being; if you want to be treated well, with good care and quick turn around time come here. If you want somewhere to just hang out and keep up those old habits then just go to those other places!?
