I joined Embark Behavioral Health’s Young Adult IOP program in November 2024 after withdrawing from college. I was burnt-out, struggling with depression and OCPD. I frequently felt overwhelmed and hopeless. I had no idea what to expect, as Embark was the first group program I had ever committed to. I had a history of therapy either being ineffective - whether due to external factors or my own resistance to change. The group therapist and my personal therapist are phenomenal at their job - and more importantly - as individuals. I received an incredible amount of support and compassion from them. They shared their knowledge with me, and I have learned to be comfortable with discomfort. Every staff member helped me work through my depressive symptoms and restart my life. I am now able to reframe the self-doubt that inhibited my growth. I have built a foundation of agency and empowerment that secures my self-esteem. Moreover, the skills I developed at Embark have become habits that I can continue to work on. I gained an entirely new perspective on my academic, career, and personal path - I am really excited for it. I graduate from the program this week, and while healing and progress are not linear, I am motivated to keep moving forward. I have also seen immense growth in my groupmates, and I am very proud of them. I am beyond grateful for this experience.

Embark at Ashburn is the absolute best outpatient treatment in the area. My child who turned 18 while in treatment with them experienced a seamless transition from the teen to the young adult program. Her therapist and medication provider were extremely accessible and knowledgeable. She is a completely different person. Embark changed our lives and saved our daughters. I would recommend Embark at Ashburn to any family who has a teen or young adult struggling with mental health. We’ve been through many treatment programs and this was our last stop finally :) thank you Embark!!

I would not be where I am today without the help of Recovery Unplugged. I had two 30 day visits with them back in 2019 before moving on to a 90 program in Arizona. Everyone was friendly and you felt like you actually mattered. The musical component of it all was life changing and is still a huge support in my life today. It's outside of the box recovery and if you are looking for a place to start, this is it. I'm coming on six years of sustained recovery and now hold a masters in divinity while thriving in Tucson. AZ. None of this would have been possible without Recovery Unplugged and I could not be more grateful for all they provided in early recovery.

The program and support is great, but once you finish no resources are provided. No follow-up with patients. They are all about profit. The providers can't even provide outside resources. This should be a warning sign they are out to make money.

My journey started there. Many great counselors. A couple of them really should find another career, but nobody is perfect. I still believe they do there best. There’s a thoughtful balance here: it’s structured and clearly designed to support meaningful work, while still feeling open, comfortable, and human. What stood out most to me was how the environment supports both focus and connection. There are defined spaces to get things done, but nothing feels closed off or isolating. There’s a sense that people are visible, supported, and part of something shared—whether that’s during structured programming or more informal moments of social connection. Meeting members of the team only reinforced that impression. Everyone I interacted with was engaged, grounded, and clearly invested in the work they’re doing. It gave me confidence not just in the program itself, but in the experience clients and families would have navigating it day to day.

Came to the site to do a tour of the facility. Met the clinical director for the tour, would have given 5 stars but the front desk area was very messy and had a strange odor. This should be addressed soon since it is the first thing you see as you enter.

This place was an overall amazing experience for me, the staff members are great especially: Matt, Fatima, Meta, Cali, Emilie, Amelia, Dani, Amanda, Tony, Bernard, Alissa and many more. they were kind and listened to me when I had concerns and taught me how to speak up for myself and how to have a healthy relationship with food and my body. I do think the Sunday outings and special walmart orders for allergen prone PT’s could be improved but since I’ve been here things have started to be improved and updated, it’s a learning process for everyone! Dr. Amin the psychiatrist through INOVA, is the best Dr. that I have seen in the last 20 years. He puts his patients interests first and doesn't force medications on his patients. He listens, is thorough and builds trust by allowing the patient to do what is best for them. A lot of doctors try to force medications on patients and before you know it, you are taking 5 and in line to be the next Michael Jackson. He doesn't do that. He always lets the patient make their own decision by giving as much information as possible. He focuses on the science behind the medications and doesn't account for things that are irrelevant.

There was quite a wait for emergency services but each department communicated with each other and was so polite. Brian Stewart is one of the few names that we caught but he was phenomenal. The staff checked on us, fed us, and gave us blankets. We saw them touching base with some individuals who were clearly in crisis and they were just so patient and caring. Dr. Smith was our emergency services doc and I wish he could see people regularly because he was funny and he made my program participant feel heard. I have been with an individual to the primary care as well and enjoyed the collaboration with DO Pristell.

An excellent house to go if you're in need of mental health care. Unlike going to a hospital psyche ward, where the nurses are just waiting for their shift to end and the doctor talks to you quickly and writes some prescriptions and rushes you out to see the next patient, the entire staff focuses on you. From the doctor, to the counselors and even the cooking staff, they focus on every patient as an individual and get deeply involved in your case. A very warm, cozy, welcoming environment, nice rooms and bathrooms, and excellent food. It's like a second home you can collect yourself and gather your thoughts and prepare for the outside world again. I highly recommend.

The house that is associated with this property is a great place to go if you're in need of emergency mental health care and assistance from substance abuse. They do not offer detox specifically but if you're doing a detox, they are able to support with their varied staff of psychiatrists, PRN, nurses, and psychologists as well as peer support specialists. I wouldn't have made it to today as psychologically intact as I am without them! My issues were: they cannot always accommodate a vegetarian or vegan diet & the nightly bed checks require some disturbance if you're a light sleeper. They offer ear plugs but you may want to bring a sleep mask to get your best rest. They are genuinely caring people and I highly recommend!

Best clinic that I've been to. The staff, including front desk, nurses, and counselors are all very friendly ,personable, and most importantly, CARING. I have great rapport with my current counselor (and I pray she stays!), which makes me feel open and at ease in our meetings. The current head nurse has also been great. I really could keep mentioning specific staff members, they have all been great and accommodating to me. Dr. Amin the psychiatrist through INOVA, is the best Dr. that I have seen in the last 20 years. He puts his patients interests first and doesn't force medications on his patients. He listens, is thorough and builds trust by allowing the patient to do what is best for them. A lot of doctors try to force medications on patients and before you know it, you are taking 5 and in line to be the next Michael Jackson. He doesn't do that. He always lets the patient make their own decision by giving as much information as possible. He focuses on the science behind the medications and doesn't account for things that are irrelevant.

If u guys want the help they will help you. But they are not going to chase after you to give you the help! You have to show that you’re willing to fix your addiction or you’re just basically using this place for housing. I been to this rehab twice and thank god I got the help I needed on my second trip. So stop giving this place a 1star review because your family member got kick out! Do you even understand how hard it is to get kick out of that place? People are rating this facility like they paid out of pocket. Stop disrespecting a good thing!
