When it comes to healthcare and seeing doctors, some are good, some are bad. Well, I experienced the good side of service. Yesterday, at Virginia Hospital Center, I had an in-and-out procedure, and from the time I walked in until the time I left, every individual that came across my path was pleasant, and I enjoyed my experience while I was there. My doctor was amazing. From the anesthesiologists to the nurses, everyone was pleasant. The front desk lady at check-in was also awesome. My dad and I stayed by my mom’s side every single day throughout her hospitalization. We witnessed extraordinary compassion, kindness, patience, and professionalism shown by every member of your team. During the most heartbreaking time of our lives, you didn’t just care for my mom , you cared for our entire family. You comforted us, answered our questions, and made us feel supported every step of the way. A very special thank you goes to Dr. Malik. We will never forget your kindness compassion, patience, and the time you spent with us. You answered every question we had with kindness and helped us understand what was best for my mom. You guided us through incredibly difficult decisions with honesty, empathy, and respect. Your support meant more than words can express. I would also like to recognize Nurse Karim on the 3rd Floor, Room 329. Your kindness, gentle care, and compassion brought so much comfort to my mom and to our family. During one of the hardest moments of our lives, your kindness, compassion, and gentle presence brought us so much comfort. We will never forget your warmth and the peace you brought to us that day. To every nurse who cared for my mom on the third floor thank you. Whether you worked during the day or overnight, every one of you treated my mom with kindness, love, dignity, and respect. You made sure she was comfortable, spoke to her with compassion, and cared for her as if she were your own family. You also took the time to comfort my dad and me, and that is something we will never forget. Thank you to every physician, nursing assistant, therapist, chaplain, housekeeping staff, and everyone behind the scenes. Every one of you played a role in making my mom’s final days peaceful and surrounded by compassionate care. Although losing my mom has been the greatest heartbreak of my life, I find comfort knowing she was cared for by such extraordinary people. The third floor, especially Room 329, will always hold a special place in my heart. It became much more than a hospital room it became a place where my mom was surrounded by love, dignity, compassion, and exceptional care during the final chapter of her life. My dad my brother my sister law and I spent every day there with her, I stayed every night with my mom and those memories, along with the incredible people we met, will stay with us forever. I've been an addict for over 20yrs, that being said I've dealt with many facility's concerning recovery or incarseration but had never experienced an inpatient rehab. The fact of the matter is no matter where u go everything isnt gonna b perfect n during recovery alot of times we think the world should revolve around us, a rehab is there to help u along ur journey. U have to still be willing to put in the work and u have to want to quit. My experience in the Pheonix house was great. I enjoyed the meetings, the staff was kind although they were a little busy at times. I honestly believe most staff there were cared about their profession and the residents at the facility. The food was great! The prior reviews with people complaining about this place probley never experienced a lengthy jail bid instead of rehab. To mk a long story short, this place saved my life. I had two 30 day visits with them back in 2019 before moving on to a 90 program in Arizona. Everyone was friendly and you felt like you actually mattered. I'm coming on six years of sustained recovery and now hold a masters in divinity while thriving in Tucson. AZ. It’s not a cookie cutter program and felt very comfortable and welcomed. Since I left I’m still involved with the stuff they do in after care and alumni activities which are great ways to stay connected to a lot of people who truly are still putting in the work to stay sober and a lot of us have become close friends and hang out a few times a week. It’s not uptight like a lot of places which is very helpful in early recovery, the music aspect is great even if you don’t play any instruments, and the housing setup is great as well. The rules are pretty simple. No vaping inside (at the center) and you can’t have your phone during group lol pretty reasonable. Otherwise there’s still a sense of normalcy. Highly recommend to anyone who’s ready to make that 1st big step! I was a bit apprehensive at first and couldn’t be more grateful that I did it. I haven’t felt this good in 20 years! The staff here are so incredibly supportive and have your back through everything. Amelia, Danielle, Amanda, Kathy, Tony, Lucia, Meta, and Matt deserve a special shout out. I came to an almost large mansion like building that had chefs on staff, access to doctors and nurses 24/7, a bed and hot shower. Exactly what I needed for where I was in life, if I had those I was doing better than I was. When it comes to curriculum and facilities, they have the best organized classes and group structure I and others who told me form experience they have seen. We have a lot of fun, a lot of freedom in choice of what I NEED in my recovery. Outings after your reach a certain point in the program. Entertainment at night and weekend.
