Day 280 the excellent home geriatric doctor is awesome. The benefits are excellent. We’ve adapted and so appreciate the VA! Day 2 and not as impressed but they did fix a wrong scan order so we didn’t have to pack up and leave. Was told meds ready and not there yet. A very long day running around getting nothing done. Day 1 was very impressed with the care my 93 yr old vet fatherin-law received today. He couldn’t have asked for more. All difficulties were addressed, the nearby UVA pharmacy was super speedy and convenient. A different specialty drug through the VA pharm was free and can now be taken.. They have MDs that can come to your house. We got appts lined up a week after we called. Everyone was super awesome. The RN couldn’t been nicer. MD super thorough. A wonderful asset for veterans! We waded through another VA out of state and it was hell getting things set up and no thoroughness medically but also provided great services. We’re happy to find this easier. Thank u!

Today, Region Ten Crisis Unit was the only one to help me. They picked me up and brought me in to see a nurse and doctor. Then, set me up for more help next week! Really a wonderful experience during a crisis for me. It s hard to be positive when abuse is happening, but today Region Ten spent hours deescalating and managing my crisis issues well. It s hard to say: I was raped and in the UVA care unit, I was assaulted by 3 long relationship partners and needed shelter for emergency and care for the physical abuse. Now, my mental health is in crisis after a 7-month roommate situation turned violent. All this past trauma builds up and comes up when new abuse. I was able to get out all the bad, plan for counseling for future mental and physical care. Thank you! Your team even stayed late, and it s nice to know others in crisis can come to you.

I participated in Orchard Mountain Recovery's IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program), as well as their Aftercare. The team of professionals at OMR exceeded my expectations! The team is made up of counselors who themselves have been through the wringer of addiction, which adds a sense of relatability to their guidance and support. The programs are a mixture of group sessions, education, amazing speakers, and videos/movies about addiction and recovery, so it's always stimulating and I learned something new every session. OMR's IOP and Aftercare were the perfect 'step-downs' for me and definitely a very important tool for my 'toolbox.'

This subject can be one that either rips loved ones apart or brings them closer together. As I hope for everyone and anyone that people open there minds and hearts up to those who ask for help. We are not bad people just as cancer is a disease so is addiction! I was never warned by my doctor that the medication he was given me would turn my life upside down and when it did my doctor cut me loose. Coming from a family with addiction problems I then knew I had to get help. This treatment center is great compared to others! They help you with EVERYTHING from your addiction to your transportation needs. Be prepared for friends and family to turn their back on you because it will happen. Narrow minded people think this isn’t getting help it’s replacing on addiction with another. If that’s the case then almost everyone in the world are addicts. If you get the flu and take medication for it same thing, you get poison ivy you get medicine for it same thing. Yes I know it’s not 100% exact but hopefully some of you get my point here! Please stop knocking us down when we are doing everything we can to fix the problem. I promise you if you take treatment seriously and friends and family support you and even get involved in your treatment you will find yourself again. You will be a better, stronger and caring person!!!!

My experience at New Life Christian Retreat Center was truly memorable. The location is stunning, exuding peace and tranquility. The staff members are warm, helpful, and accommodating without being intrusive. The accommodations are cozy, and spacious. The retreat center has on-property access to the North Anna River and scenic forest trails. I was there for a women's retreat, but would suggest this site for a wedding, family reunion, or just a place to unplug and relax. If you want to get out for a daytrip, the area has plenty of historical attractions, plus the retreat center is not far from Ashland Berry Farm, Lake Anna State Park, and Kings Dominion. My group stayed on the property -- you'll understand why when you see it. Personally, I left feeling rejuvenated and uplifted after my stay at New Life Christian Retreat Center. I highly recommend this place.

Let me start by saying that I haven't sought mental health help in 10 years due to horrific treatment by past doctors. That changed yesterday when I saw Noel Dianas-Huges & Laura Cook. They cared. I’ve been to both inpatient and outpatient groups and many a therapist. I am so happy here I could scream it from the mountaintops! They’ve done a huge turnaround and have some new policies and Darlene Hilton is a doll. No therapist has ever taken me under their wing like she has. She’s my one on one but I appreciate all of the therapists there and the work they do for IOP. Shoutout to Campbell! And the rest. It has been a great experience that has helped me grown tremendously and I can’t wait to see what the future holds there for me! They have it all! VCSB supported me at my lowest point when I felt I had been let down by all other avenues of help. I have continued with them for 6 years even though I now have health coverage, because I NEED the extra things they do to prevent myself from falling through the cracks. I am afraid to go to another practice because elsewhere I have been prone to forgetting appointments or making some other brain-fart mistake, and can't seem to meet standard expectations. I am blessed with a panic disorder that kicks in when I feel unheard, dismissed or unfairly judged...so I AVOID people (other mental clinics' office staff) who interact with me in this way. The VCBS office staff has never been less than respectful in my years of experience. Recently diagnosed at aged 60 with underlying autism, I did hope my provider would have some renewed understanding of my challenges. Sadly, I don't feel that is the case. I have tolerated our interactions for 3 years, but now knowing the source of my difficulties (autism) I realize more fully that I am a very poor self-advocate. I tend to expect to be misjudged and misunderstood, and then when it happens, spend hours trying to understand why. This should not be my experience from my mental health provider. I now don't know where to turn. I considered a lower rating, but one mismatched provider among many great supportive staff over almost 8 years does not warrant that. (I am surprisingly objective, because...autism.)

I've used VCSB for three years and it's been a net positive. Every interaction with the staff has been neutral to good, usually good. They are enlightened about the LGBTQ+. The case managers have been deeply good, dedicated people exceeding expectations. The therapy options are insufficient, full stop. They need more people, more funding, and maybe more space. They also need staff trained to treat trauma/PTSD.

Comparing the Cost of Rehab in Charlottesville

The costs of addiction treatment listed for cities and states are averages based on the cost of medical detox, inpatient rehab, outpatient rehab, and medication assisted treatment. These averages are high due to the cost of medical detoxification and residential inpatient rehab programs.

These numbers also reflect the raw cost of drug rehab, before any insurance coverage. The typical individual seeking addiction treatment can expect to pay much less for outpatient or intensive outpatient services than the averages listed below.
