Armando Lopez 5 months ago Day 280 the excellent home geriatric doctor is awesome. The benefits are excellent. We’ve adapted and so appreciate the VA! Day 2 and not as impressed but they did fix a wrong scan order so we didn’t have to pack up and leave. Was told meds ready and not there yet. A very long day running around getting nothing done. Day 1 was very impressed with the care my 93 yr old vet fatherin-law received today. He couldn’t have asked for more. All difficulties were addressed, the nearby UVA pharmacy was super speedy and convenient. A different specialty drug through the VA pharm was free and can now be taken.. They have MDs that can come to your house. We got appts lined up a week after we called. Everyone was super awesome. The RN couldn’t been nicer. MD super thorough. A wonderful asset for veterans! We waded through another VA out of state and it was hell getting things set up and no thoroughness medically but also provided great services. We’re happy to find this easier. Thank u! They picked me up and brought me in to see a nurse and doctor. Then, set me up for more help next week! Really a wonderful experience during a crisis for me. It s hard to be positive when abuse is happening, but today Region Ten spent hours deescalating and managing my crisis issues well. It s hard to say: I was raped and in the UVA care unit, I was assaulted by 3 long relationship partners and needed shelter for emergency and care for the physical abuse. Now, my mental health is in crisis after a 7-month roommate situation turned violent. All this past trauma builds up and comes up when new abuse. I was able to get out all the bad, plan for counseling for future mental and physical care. Thank you! Your team even stayed late, and it s nice to know others in crisis can come to you. The team of professionals at OMR exceeded my expectations! The team is made up of counselors who themselves have been through the wringer of addiction, which adds a sense of relatability to their guidance and support. The programs are a mixture of group sessions, education, amazing speakers, and videos/movies about addiction and recovery, so it's always stimulating and I learned something new every session. Angel is my doctor and literally my (Angel) she's helped me learn to put myself first and that everything in life doesn't come easy but believing in myself and in God has brought me a long way. And Camilla works at the front desk and is always so generous if I have to reschedule appointments if make appointments, etc.. They make everything much easier and enjoyable, sometimes I have to bring my two kids so it's kid friendly, while you're getting the care you need. Also the new location is extremely nice, and the new staff members are a joy to be around. The staff members are warm, helpful, and accommodating without being intrusive. The accommodations are cozy, and spacious. The retreat center has on-property access to the North Anna River and scenic forest trails. I was there for a women's retreat, but would suggest this site for a wedding, family reunion, or just a place to unplug and relax. If you want to get out for a daytrip, the area has plenty of historical attractions, plus the retreat center is not far from Ashland Berry Farm, Lake Anna State Park, and Kings Dominion. My group stayed on the property -- you'll understand why when you see it. Personally, I left feeling rejuvenated and uplifted after my stay at New Life Christian Retreat Center. Scenic place, open for family to visit. Beautiful location on the side of a mountain. Programming wasn't overwhelming. Food came from hospital but was surprisingly good. Watched movies afterwards and went into the city for meetings each day Most concerning downfall.. Nursing staff gossiping about clients. Attitude from nursing was to be expected. Tgey would also speak to techs on client situations that was bothersome. We could hear everything that was said. To add to: Random strangers in NA/AA knew how long I was in treatment and pointed her out as the problem ApexMindset 1 year ago 14+ months still going strong, thanks to my 28 days at Pathways last January. Incredible, amazing treatment center; compassionate staff, good food, cozy rooms.. just enough regimented schedule to keep folks on task, and just enough freedom to not feel like you’re locked up in there. Great variety of group sessions. I loved it there. I can’t thank the staff enough. Valley helped me when I was a child and their crisis counselors letter kept me out of juvy so years later after my 8th OD I picked them as my first rehab since they helped me in the past. 1 year 11 months sober now, Everyone is kind and helpful and fufills the role they were assigned. Part of getting sober is to stop blaming all your problems on the world and others and a lot of people in these replies seem to have had a skewed view of what VCSB was supposed to do or made mistakes and blame the situation they put themselves in on this place. I say none of this to put myself above them, everyone is in different phases of there recovery and I only wish the best for every person who is involuntarily or voluntarily chosing to go here. I chose VCSB and I followed the directions to a Tbut the most important factor was chosing everyday to try an be better, if you try to be a little bit better than the day before you will do whatever you set yourself upon.
