My four-year-old son was admitted to the Pediatric Unit and I was blown away by our experience. He was a direct admission from our pediatrician and that process couldn’t have gone smoother. I very much appreciated being able to skip an ED visit and just walk straight onto the unit. We walked into our room and immediately found a Jared box, a backpack full of toys, and a colorful, warm blanket. My son was so excited to see these special touches and was so comforted by them- the Jared Box was a huge hit and absolutely saved the day. Our nurses – Hannah, Taylor, and Anthony – were incredible. I especially want to shout out Hannah and Taylor – they were outstanding. They put me at such ease with their professionalism, efficiency, and compassionate care. Taylor was also just incredible all night long. Once I was able to get him to sleep, she went out of her way to make sure his vital checks were so quiet and unobtrusive that he never even woke up. She also managed the messier moments of our stay with such grace, and I just really appreciated the way she cared for my son. Dr. Chanock and Dr. El Bash were both amazing as well. I deeply appreciated Dr. Chanock asking me to step into the hallway to discuss the care plan so as not to create more anxiety in my son. This was such an unexpected and thoughtful thing and allowed me to concentrate on processing the plan without managing his emotions at the same time. I have such a deep appreciation for the way this team cared for my son, and we could not have had a better experience on the Pediatric Unit. Thank you to the entire team!

Reviews often seem emotional and the hospital is rated accordingly. Objectively, I have to say the everyone who took care of my husband, from room cleaners, nurses, care managers, techs to doctors, was extremely professional and showed genuine interest in getting him healthy again. I could not have been more impressed, thank you.

I spent eight long days at Mary Washington healing from a brutal domestic violence incident. The care and patience and kindness I received from every staff member on Four South was unmatched by any stay I’ve had in my life. I’m sixty one and had many stays from the doctors to the sweet ladies that kept my room spotless to the accommodating kitchen staff it was pleasant. They didn’t let me suffer in pain. The food was shockingly good. I felt like royalty. The care I was given had as much to do with my healing as the medicine I was given. I’m off to a rehabilitation center now and will miss them. If I could give them ten stars I would give them ten stars. I’m giving them ten stars in my heart.

Personally I like the people who work here and haven't had any bad experiences with them but some of the other clients have made me uncomfortable many times. I'm aware it's a clinic for addiction but that shouldn't give anybody an excuse to treat others horribly. If you come here and do what you're supposed to do then it'll be a good experience overall.

WMTC is a great place and they provide a great service. If you can get past some of the stupidity of some program statements/practices you will do great. An example is I had 5 take homes per week which meant I only had to go in 2 days a week, but when I started to taper down by 3 mgs a week (my dose was only adjust once a week) they took my take homes....it was clear they wanted to keep me strung out on methadone! I went down to 10 mgs and quit and have been doing great for over a year...….so I appreciate them getting me off heroin but it is clear places like this want to keep your payment coming in !!!

WMTC is the best treatment center I have attended, the way the staff treat patients is incredible, I don't have enough words to express how good they are with the people and the quality of service they provide to the community. This place is not like any other place, they actually listen to you and are not out for your money! Mr. Hawkins will work with you if you have financial or attendance problems. These sessions consist of small, personal, relaxed environment sessions. At first I was kinda skeptical because I’ve been to others and to be honest, just going through the other clinics sessions “made” me wanna drink afterward. Not this place, it was just all good vibes. You’ll definitely enjoy your group sessions (I know that’s weird to say about a therapy center). I would 100% recommend.

An excellent house to go if you're in need of mental health care. Unlike going to a hospital psyche ward, where the nurses are just waiting for their shift to end and the doctor talks to you quickly and writes some prescriptions and rushes you out to see the next patient, the entire staff focuses on you. From the doctor, to the counselors and even the cooking staff, they focus on every patient as an individual and get deeply involved in your case. A very warm, cozy, welcoming environment, nice rooms and bathrooms, and excellent food. It's like a second home you can collect yourself and gather your thoughts and prepare for the outside world again. I highly recommend.

The house that is associated with this property is a great place to go if you're in need of emergency mental health care and assistance from substance abuse. They do not offer detox specifically but if you're doing a detox, they are able to support with their varied staff of psychiatrists, PRN, nurses, and psychologists as well as peer support specialists. I wouldn't have made it to today as psychologically intact as I am without them! My issues were: they cannot always accommodate a vegetarian or vegan diet & the nightly bed checks require some disturbance if you're a light sleeper. They offer ear plugs but you may want to bring a sleep mask to get your best rest. They are genuinely caring people and I highly recommend!

I have taken several program participants to various medical and mental health appointments over the years both in Virginia and in Maryland and was hands down super impressed with the staff at the CSB juvenile, adult, and emergency services. There was quite a wait for emergency services but each department communicated with each other and was so polite. Brian Stewart is one of the few names that we caught but he was phenomenal. The staff checked on us, fed us, and gave us blankets. We saw them touching base with some individuals who were clearly in crisis and they were just so patient and caring. Dr. Smith was our emergency services doc and I wish he could see people regularly because he was funny and he made my program participant feel heard. I have been with an individual to the primary care as well and enjoyed the collaboration with DO Pristell.

I came here in 2018 when I was at rock bottom and finally ready for a change and today I can say that it was life changing for me. I've been clean ever since and have rebuilt a happy life down in Florida near the beach. I don't remember names but my counselor was amazing, and there was another really pretty lady in heels who was a Capricorn that was amazing as well. Anyways thank you guys for facilitating one of the most pivotal moments in my life. Will be forever grateful.

Walden has employees who are very dedicated & compassionate where adults in their care are concerned. Thru covid nightmares making a huge hindrance in allowing group meetings for some time, dedicated staff realized the importance of interaction with others who have walked the same nightmare. National shortage of trained help I am sure impacts their jobs, but I sincerely feel Walden's employees work there for the right reason..often saving a person's life. Their satisfaction at times when in the future seeing one of the 'flock' leading a normal, happy life when they run into them in public tells me they are there to make a viable difference. Thanks to all of Walden's angels in disguise for this!

Let's face it every program isn't gonna be 🌈 and ✨ we are there to get clean. Thts the primary purpose. So for me to complain about the food is ridiculous cuz I barely ate b4 I even went in there. And definitely disagree about them leaving u alone while you are in detox they do an assessment every 4 hrs. I couldn't get them to leave me alone all I wanted to do was sleep. But shout out to the nursing staff ⚕️ I loved all of you. My warmest hugs 🤗 to Kimmy Ms. Deb Jennifer Emma Ms. Lisa oh my my my I can't forget Toby and Kim y'all do a heck of a job cleaning us up. Renika do her thing with those dessert 🎂 and Ted those French toast, idk wht u do but keep on doing it and NeNe girl keep putting tht soul in it. Lol 🤣 I miss y'all already. In a nutshell the program gonna be what you put into it. You can have fun while getting clean or be miserable 😖 and still get clean. The choice is yours but it's not my place to blame it on a facility when I need to look at the behaviors I still carried with me. Thanks for having me. Ms. CeCe I'll be back for your I mean MY clothes 😂🥰 Oh yea by far my favorite counselor award goes to Nicole but Sheron u definitely pulled a lot out of me so u lost points for making me feel to much and crying lol. And Troy hands down best House Keeper. And u saw me day one a hot mess and never judged appreciated that. I could go on and on about things I didn't like but today it's about change and everything I didn't like was exactly what I needed to learn and grow in my recover. Hope to see y'all soon only on this side of the street. Best wishes to you all.

I have been at Good Hope Institute for almost 6 years, and in my opinion it's no better and no worse than any other methadone maintenance program. I've been on methadone maintenance for over 30 years and have been at many different facilities, so I believe I know a good one from a bad one. At GHI, you get from it what you put into it. If you want to get clean and stay clean you can; if you want maintenance you can do that, or you can detox. No one is getting rich from keeping someone on the program who doesn't want to be there. One thing you cannot do there is drift along continuing to get high and drinking methadone, and you cannot come in with a sense of entitlement or a nasty attitude and expect people to jump over hoops to do what you want. With all the addicts they're dealing with, and the turnover lately in staff yes, things can sometimes move a little slower than we'd like, but no where on earth are you going to get all your desires instantly! Sometimes you have to be patient, and this program is no different. GHI is not a bad clinic. Sometimes staff there have not been as caring as they could have been, and there have been those who had downright nasty attitudes. They're individual people though, they do not represent the whole clinic. If you want to get off opiates and you're not afraid to work to stay clean you can do it at Good Hope Institute. UPDATE: As of this year, 2019, Good Hope Institute no longer exists as such. They are a completely different clinic, run by completely different management and under a new system. Any of the posts from before, they're talking about a completely different clinic. And I still say if a person is willing to put the work in, they can get and remain clean just as well here as anywhere else.
