Maybel always makes me laugh and it messes with my blood pressure all the time (that's my excuse). Dona always has on fresh kicks and I'm jealous. Stephanie will always make sure I'm good, making sure I take care of my self. She really cares which is rare in my experience. Fatima digs and makes me deal when I don't want when I know I need to. To the Registration and Cath Staff: I am delighted to share my experience. The first station was the Registration Desk which performed great getting me registered. Unfortunately, i did not get the kind, helpful young lady's name. The second station (pre-cath) was with Nurse Rhona, who was very professional and polite. The third station was the Cath Staff, beginning with Amy, who escorted me from Rhona's station to the cath station. This is where I met Nurse Catrina, who i spent the remaining part of my visit. Let me say, she is tremendous responder and comforter. Catrina's care and treatment for me was very professional. She was continuously attentive to my medical needs during my stay. Her knowledge was vast as she answered all my pre and post op questions. I knew then, with Catrina and Nurse Morgan's immediate response when my wound reopened, I was Blessed to have them near. With my high anxiety, they were confident in their response, which uplifted my spirit. I felt I was in very good care. Miving to the next level of care was the Op-room (OR) where i can say that my Cath Team was truly remarkable. From the moment Nurse Amy wheeled my bed into the OR, where i met Sam, Rob, Amy (again), and of course my fantastic Dr Chandra, who introduced themselves, I could not have felt more comfortable. In my opinion, truly a wonderful Team. I've had a cath once before, but this surgery was different because I remained conscious during. Seems as though the procedures have change a bit. I slept during my first cath. Although my anxiety was high this time too, Sam (the Anesthesiologist) assured I was in great hands, which i can say now that I was. Even greater to my experience were the results. I was rewarded with little to no artery blockage. A tremendous relief for me and my family. The trust and confidence I have for this wonderful Team will be shared to many. I'd like to request SRMC's leadership and board members personally recognize each individual mentioned above. It's this type of experience that supports my decision and lifted confidence level when I'm in need of SRMC's medical assistance. She's very good at what she does and does her best to be fast and have your stay be as comfortable as it can be during your stay/treatment. This makes my unfortunate repeated visits a little easier at times and it is greatly appreciated. Never been screened for ptsd despite already seeking mental treatment elsewhere. This place saved my life. I had really wanted to get better for so long and I had held on for as long as I could. Nothing had truly helped. It was inpatient for 10 days, and then with the PHP program with the AMAZING ladies over there! In my own experience the only negative was the way some of the nurses (inpatient) talked down to patients at times. A really special shout-out to a nurse named April! (Inpatient) She went above and beyond to take care of me while I got extremely sick taking new meds. It truly was the worst I'd ever been sick and she took care of me like I was her own child. Some of the staff dont care about their job and it'll show. For context I go to the adolescent unit. Ms. Tara, Tiffany, Jen, Debbi, Summer, and the security guard Kam (I call him milkdud, lol) are thr only people who i can VERY much tell care about the patients. They truly made my stays at snowden so much better and made me see the light at the end of the tunnel. Kam the security guard even got me to stop self harming because of his words of motivation. Dr. Alli & Becca are also the sweetest people ever, they truly care about their job. I believe a lot of the reviews on the Fairfax location are due to the patient's determination to comply with treatment rules and progress. I came into this program unsure of my ability to succeed, but I pushed myself because I wanted recovery. During my stay (one month) I repeatedly told my peers that they could not phase up/earn privileges if they didn't want sobriety. My therapist, Tracey, was amazing. She made an effort to personally connect with me and was patient with me on my worst days. Tessa, a BHT, showed consistent faith in me and went out of her way to support my peers and me. She balanced respecting program rules and treating us like humans very well. Other staff I value for their assistance towards me would be Mo, Luis, Antonio, and Esther (nurse). Whilst my stay wasn't perfect, it was mostly due to the other patients I lived with. Ex. triggering language, outbursts, and maladaptive behavior. I encourage future residents to take these reviews with a grain of salt. I didn't always agree/like every staff member - but that is human experience. If you have an issue with the facility, talk directly to staff instead of criticizing them via reviews. Mr. Hawkins will work with you if you have financial or attendance problems. These sessions consist of small, personal, relaxed environment sessions. At first I was kinda skeptical because I’ve been to others and to be honest, just going through the other clinics sessions “made” me wanna drink afterward. Not this place, it was just all good vibes.
