Going to CFD McLean for ARFID treatment saved my life. When I entered the facility, I was a shell of myself and had zero 'safe' foods; with the support of all the staff, this number quickly grew to 50+. Specifically for ARFID, this facility is equipped and incredibly knowledgeable + understand the severity of this ED. They are also incredibly knowledgeable of Celiac disease and food allergies + sensitivities. The staff goes above and beyond to make the environment safe during meals, exposures, in the communal area and kitchen, group sessions, individual therapy, nutrionally, etc - anywhere where there is a potential trigger for ARFID. Exposures to 'new' foods are done safely and with support from the staff. I will call out that Specifically, Scott is phenomenal at supporting and guiding patients through food exposures. Anna (dietician) does everything in her power and more to assure that the care plan is tailored to needs and is balanced. She is also a master at collaborating with other care team members to make sure that patients are well supported. Kathy as a therapist truly understands ARFID and tailors all therapy to make sure that a patient is going to be able to meet goals and is supported through all the moments: highs, lows, amd everything in between. I need to credit Scott, a tech, for singlehandedly saving me. His care, willingness to support through all the moments, guidance, and consistent support is why I was able to get back on my feet - he is truly 1 in a million and CFD is the luckiest to have such a kind, passionate, and caring staff member on their team. Every single staff member at CFD cares and patients can literally feel it through their advocacy, support, guidance, and everything in between. Amanda, Kayla, Jennifer, Liz, Emily K, Emily R, Ona, Dr.Irving were also instrumental in getting me back on my feet. Highly recommend CFD McLean to anyone seeking residential ED treatment!

Center for Discovery has done everything under the sun for me. I was there for 8 weeks before being stepped to a psychiatric unit. The 8 weeks i spent there were rough for me, but the team did everything in their power to help me. As I neared the point of having to leave the facility, everyone truly did everything in their power to allow me to stay. Even though I do have to leave for the time being, I really do hope to return once I am able to. Amanda, Emily R, and Liz were all amazing and are some of the best people out there. 5 Stars – A Dream Team of Therapists! Recovering from a broken femur after a slip and fall was one of the hardest challenges I’ve ever faced—but I couldn’t have asked for a better support team than Karina (OT) and Kathryn (PT). These two incredible women were so patient with me, especially when I would get in my head and just needed a moment to regroup. They never rushed me, never judged me—just gave me the space and encouragement I needed to keep going. Their compassion, empathy, and professionalism made such a difference in my recovery. They didn’t just treat my injury—they treated me as a whole person. I always felt heard, understood, and genuinely cared for. Thank you, Karina and Kathryn, for helping me regain not just my mobility, but my confidence. I’m so grateful for you both!

They are wonderful nurses and doctors. They are quick to get the job done and send you home once they see your well.

I had an unexpected visit to the hospital yesterday. I interacted with multiple nurses (I didnt catch all of their names, Aneera was our main nurse) and the doctor was Dr. Redmond. They were all fantastic. The nurses were very caring and quick to help. The doctor was informative and thorough. The emergency department looked nice and was quiet as well. I'd rather not go to the ER, but if I need to, I wouldnt hesitate to go here again.

I was recommended this place by a close friend and I would highly recommend this place to any and everybody struggling with addiction! I spent most of my twenty's going to swanky upscale rehabs in South Florida and this place can compete with the best of them. The staff and counselors genuinely care about the patients and you will never be hungry, the food is great! This place is just the first stepping stone in your recovery to get you stabilized after using and I promise you they're great at doing so!! Thank you Phoenix house Sincerely, Andrew K

If u guys want the help they will help you. But they are not going to chase after you to give you the help! You have to show that you’re willing to fix your addiction or you’re just basically using this place for housing. I been to this rehab twice and thank god I got the help I needed on my second trip. So stop giving this place a 1star review because your family member got kick out! Do you even understand how hard it is to get kick out of that place? People are rating this facility like they paid out of pocket. Stop disrespecting a good thing!

I was greeted by a super friendly and efficient receptionist. They had my information from a visit of years before. My wait was very short and the doctor dealt with my issue quickly and very pleasantly. Couldn’t have asked for more.

I was greeted by a friendly receptionist and had a short wait in the waiting room. The nurse, doctor and radiologist were all very professional and treated me with great respect. I would recommend MedStar Health Urgent Care at Alexandria and would go back again.

Awesome people and service

Went three years ago and they saved my life :) The staff is very caring about their clients, were clear and reasonable with their rules, and accommodating.

Our daughter was in desperate need of help. Her ED had gotten into a dangerous zone. Out patient therapy was just not enough to bridge the gap for us. We began looking for facilities and this one was semi close. Leaving your child can be very difficult and reading reviews I felt somewhat comfortable with this place. Ilida was really easy to work with. When we arrived, she went through all of the initial paperwork with us and made sure we understood everything before signing. While there our daughter was able to gain weight and understand her relationship with her body image and understand how her eating disorder affected that. The staff was great and quickly developed relationships that were therapeutic with my daughter- helping her use her DBT skills when she would get upset. As a mom, it does your heart good to know that when your child is upset, there is someone there to comfort them when you can’t. She went in having withdrawn into herself, no longer enjoying activities she had previously enjoyed, and as previously mentioned, very sick. She discharged a healthy, happy kiddo! Enjoying activities she hadn’t enjoyed in a long time! The only negative comments I have is that the house was in somewhat of a transition of staff upon our arrival. Our daughter was assigned a virtual therapist & virtual dietician. While both of these individuals were great, we would have much preferred in person facilitation. There were some lapses of communication a few times, but again, staff was/is in transition. When it’s brought to their attention, they are quick to rectify this. At the end of the day, the good definitely outweighs the “bad” and if I had to do it all over again, I would send her there without hesitation. Actually at discharge, our daughter was in tears because while she wanted to come home, she was going to miss several of the staff!

i had a great experience at CFD. all the staffs are very nice and friendly. i highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a residential to stay at
