I’ve searched for a good therapist and psychiatrist team for a long time and I’ve absolutely found it here! They seem to really care and are very genuine and patient. They are not there to push medication and get you out the door, they take the time to understand your symptoms and background to find ways that will help the most. I’d recommend them to everyone.

The people who work at WCBH are friendly and professional. I feel comfortable with my councilor and happy with their services.

What a great community resource. Staff (administration and clinical) are attentive, compassionate and really embrace community service models. Case management for when you have children with complex medical histories has proven to be an great foundation for care. I recommend for any parent whose child needs general counseling. Mental Heath is just as important as physical healthcare.

I love Savida in Abingdon Va. They have helped me through my journey of sobriety. They are willing to help in any way they can. Thanks to them, I am 5 years sober. I never knew my life could be this amazing, and I'm able to be a better person , and mother to my babies that I always wanted to be. And at times that it does get hard they are there. Thank you so much to everyone at Savida, I know it wasn't easy to deal with me at first, but thank you so much for your patience, and for not giving up on me. I am so grateful to Insight for helping my son, and helping our whole family. Stephanie and Mike have changed our lives forever for the better. It’s a real gift to be relatable to young people and be able to guide them to a life of integrity. My son was completely lost before coming to Insight. He has been living a sober life and working a twelve step program and has a relationship with God. I can see that he is working through his issues and learning to deal with daily life as it is. Our family is changing and growing, and I see him for the brave person he is. He has a strong support system and plenty of sober friends to have fun with. The Insight Program is forever in my heart.

Get your children therapy instead or they will end up needing it even more as an adult after going through this program. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE IF YOU LOVE THEM.

I was there 6/11/2025 through 6/14/2025. I'd been there twice before when I was younger for self harm but this time around for alcohol abuse. The food has gone way down hill, but I suppose it could be worse. Trying to sleep there was a nightmare for me because I'm used to sleeping with a fan/tv and the place goes from complete silence to rando losing their mind and slamming doors at all hours of the night. With that said, I'm writing this to give props to Savannah (peer counselor) and Dami (can't remember her specific title). Both of them were extremely kind and helpful and they weren't the only ones, just the two who stood out to me the most.

The food is awesome . Everyone is nice. We are lucky to have this emergency service in the area.

I was here last week and the staff were excellent. I especially enjoyed talking to Basma and Patience, they were both so sweet and so fun 😊 Dr. Robey is also great and I was finally able to get a proper diagnosis and start heading toward a new path of treatment. I felt hopeless when I came in and when I was discharged I felt very grateful. Keep up the good work!

Wonderful staff

In light of a number of reviewers that have decided to detail their experience in ways that proclaim their victimhood, I'd like to preface my review by saying that the Insight Program is a voluntary program. Meaning that the recipient of the service must consent to any services provided and that he/she/they has the option to relieve themselves of said service at any given time. For any newcomers brought here by word of mouth, referral, or perhaps a desperate search for hope, I'd like to caution you from extracting truth from reviews that presume the contrary. You'll find a common theme in reviews such as these: unsubstantiated blame and an absolute shamelessness to be seen as the victim. While these words might appear to come from a place of bitterness and resentment, I assure you it's the opposite. Many of those reviewers, and their beneficiaries, represent some of my first friends when I was lucky enough to join the program. I was 18, trying my hand at college, struggling to maintain a romantic relationship, overwhelmed by life outside of home and pretending that taking Xanax and synthetic opiates for breakfast was normal (among other peculiar justifications). I had struggled with drugs and alcohol abuse prior to this, but I hadn't yet experienced loneliness and stress to this extent. Shortly after my second semester at school I overdosed and was sent to a behavioral health unit. My parents were as supportive and afraid as they were distraught. After deciding to return to Greensboro, my mom, the hero in this story, reached out to an old friend who was a parent involved in the parent group of the program. My first 2 months of IOP services were unbearable. I won't parrot my resentful friends and suggest it was because of the staff, the hours, the meetings, the suggestions or some form of unholy, sadistic indoctrination of cult-like ideology; my level of misery was in direct proportion to my unwillingness to take responsibility for the man I chose to be and the life I chose to create. The more it was "your" fault, the worse I felt. With that being said, not only do I understand the place from which the malice found in these negative reviews was born, I was another couple years of victimization and unwillingness to confront my reality from writing my own hate-filled review. Today I have 8 years sober, approaching 9. My experience with Insight has been absolutely wonderful in every way. It would be naïve to suggest that I was incapable of getting sober anywhere else, but from where I stand now, I have a very difficult time imagining anywhere better than the Insight Program. Here are a few things I'm lucky enough to have in my life today that I wouldn't have without my recovery. I have an absolutely incredible relationship with my parents that I thought was never possible (mostly thanks to the Parent Program at Insight). I laugh a lot. I have goals and aspirations. I have a group of friends that I would do anything for, and I know the feeling is mutual. I'm still learning how to budget... I haven't sincerely considered taking a drink or using a drug in a very, very long time. And I genuinely love my life today. However, I don't want to create the impression that this has been "easy" or that as soon as I got sober my problems melted away. I have plenty of feelings that I still respond poorly to, I have a host of character traits that aren't pretty when brought to the light of day, sometimes I let fear dictate my actions and I still need help. The quality of my recovery, and lack thereof, is 100% up to me and the results aren't without work. However, what's abundantly clear to me is that the work is worth it. I'm eternally grateful for all of the people at Insight who made my experience so wonderful.

*IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING THIS PROGRAM PLEASE READ* I joined the Greensboro Insight program in 2015, I then went on to stay in the program for the next almost 4 years. Insight is the entire reason why I am still around and able to enjoy life today. I was very very young when I joined the program and desperately needed direction and very quickly received it. Immediately into joining the program I was surrounded by love and people who for the first time in my life took a care and interest in me, and who I was. Throughout my time in the program I was able to have friendships with A LOT of different people, and one thing always remained the same, it didn't matter what we were doing or who we were with, everyone felt like family. I felt inclined to leave a review because I saw that there were some people leaving bad reviews and saying absurd things about the program. There are many happy sober graduates of the program along with myself that have seen these reviews and have been shocked in how wildly incorrect they are. I can tell you personally, as someone who spent most of their teens in this program, this was the only place that I had ever felt accepted and loved. Because of this amazing program I am 6 years sober and could not have a more fortunate and happy life. Please don't listen to someone who blames insight just because that individual was not willing to take the necessary steps it takes to stay sober. It is not easy to get sober, but I strongly believe that there was no other program that would have given me what insight gave me.

Prior to admittance into The Insight Program, I struggled for seven years with addiction and subsequently had major consequences. Once realizing I had a problem and needed help, my mother introduced me to The Insight Program. I admitted into the IOP services, and I gained long-term tools to respond to my addiction. I now have been in recovery for over 5 years and intend to continue to be actively involved in recovery. My relationship with my family is better than it has ever been. I am very grateful for this program and all it has done for me and my family.

Both my granddaughter's go there. One is 6 and the other is 17. We have experienced nothing but kindness and understanding there. They treat us with respect and listen to all of us. They even go to our grandchildrens' schools. We love them all.

After seeing some reviews on here I was worried about meeting with meeting Connie. I honestly love her. I've meet with her and she listened. When the frist medicine didn't work, she found me another, and said "if this wasn't work will try another and another. We'll find you something" and that ment the world to me. She has been nothing but kind and helpful. As for Dawn again. She is really wonderful. She listens and she cares. She's so bubbly and you can tell she enjoys her job. Don't always listen to the negative reviews. I've had nothing but a wonderful experience. 😌

This is such a wonderful place. John is AMAZING! Connie is AMAZING! The receptionists are AMAZING! The wait time is almost non-existent, which is appreciated. I leave my appointments feeling like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I would recommend Hawkins County Mental Health 10/10 times to someone in need.
