About Banyan Heartland

Banyan Treatment Centers Gilman is a private drug rehab center specializing in treating drug and alcohol abuse in Watseka, Illinois. This addiction treatment center provides individuals with fully customized and uniquely comprehensive levels of care to help with recovery.

Banyan Treatment Centers Gilman prides itself in giving clients the drug and alcohol treatment they deserve to help them truly find recovery and sobriety. As part of this plan, this rehab center offers four substance abuse treatment programs, and they include the following:

At the Banyan Treatment Center in Gilman, dedicated healthcare professionals provide patients with medically monitored detox services for drug and alcohol addiction. During a medically monitored detox at this addiction treatment center, individuals are given 24/7 care to ensure each patient can recover from withdrawals and cravings.

The accommodations during the detox phase are comfortable, and the environment is safe and promotes healing from substance abuse. Eligible candidates are also offered FDA approved medications to help mitigate the harmful effects of drug and alcohol withdrawal.

This rehab center’s partial hospitalization plan (PHP) offers 24 hour support and full time treatment for those who want to recover at home and in a hospital setting. The PHP offered by this detox center is individualized and customized, with individuals having access to therapy daily.

Patients will undergo group and individual therapy alongside other substance abuse treatment services like chiropractic care, Biofeedback Serenity Beds, and acupuncture. In addition, individuals will also attend 12 step meetings, and the length of stay in this program is dependent on each person’s unique recovery needs.

The intensive outpatient program (IOP) offers a wide variety of therapies in a relaxed environment. During this level of care, individuals are able to gain employment and stay at home in addition to attending recovery meetings and volunteering in their communities.

Those struggling with active addiction should consider attending this IOP, which is held five days a week during phase one and three days a week during phase two. During these sessions, individuals attending the group and individual counseling will develop coping skills and responsible behaviors alongside relapse prevention.

An emphasis is placed on long-term addiction recovery during this addiction treatment center outpatient program (OP). This OP offers individual and group counseling five days a week. It offers flexibility and time to those who require help with achieving sobriety.

Typically this OP offers treatment between three to nine hours a day to ensure individuals can balance treatment and everyday life. Although 24 hour care isn’t provided, patients work with therapists to create individualized treatment plans to treat substance abuse disorders.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

Addiction treatment often begins with 24-hour clinical care in Illinois. This supervised setting is the best environment for detox.where medical staff can provide 24/7 supervision and responsive care as your body is cleansed of addictive substances. Doctors may prescribe antagonist and partial agonist drugs to counteract the effects of drugs or alcohol, or they may slowly taper down dosages of substances to end physical dependence on the drug.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

During the medically supervised detox process, licensed medical professionals monitor your vitals and administer medications meant to help alleviate the physical symptoms of withdrawal. The process can take between five and seven days, although the actual length depends on your individual needs. In most cases, medically assisted detox is partially, if not fully, covered by insurance.

inpatient iconInpatient

When participating in an inpatient rehab program, you'll reside at the treatment center for the duration of the program. Your housing and meals are provided, allowing you to focus on your recovery without outside triggers, stressors, and other distractions. You'll receive daily addiction counseling, drawing on various psychotherapeutic approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing. Many inpatient drug rehabs also offer complementary holistic therapies, such as yoga, meditation, or animal therapy, and creative arts therapy.

12-step icon12-Step

Participants in 12 step programs focus on emotional, psychological, and spiritual growth as the foundation for long-term sobriety. They engage in regular 12 step meetings, which are anonymous, free, and accessible day and night, year-round, in most communities. Participants also receive one-on-one mentoring from a self-selected sponsor. Though the 12 steps of recovery are based on spiritual principles, religious affiliation isn't required. Specialized formats are available, including programs for seniors, teens, and families.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Rehab aftercare programs provide a full continuum of care for clients who are exiting inpatient treatment. Though outpatient care is often considered an element of drug rehab aftercare, services typically continue for the remainder of the clients' life and long after formal treatment is completed. Clients work with their case managers and care team to formulate a customized portfolio of medical, mental health, and social service resources designed to evolve as the client's needs change.

telehealth iconTelehealth

Through advances in communications and medical technology, telehealth in Illinois has become a common option for receiving healthcare treatment. This practice involves the use of communication technologies to offer healthcare remotely rather than in person.

Treatments

Alcohol use disorder (alcoholism) can be severe, moderate, or mild. Symptoms include spending a lot of time drinking, wanting to stop but being unsuccessful, and feeling strong cravings that lead to overuse of alcohol. At any severity level, alcohol addiction is treatable through alcohol rehab in Illinois. Most comprehensive rehab programs include medical detox, inpatient rehab, and ongoing alcohol counseling/support (maintenance).

Drug rehab in Illinois is designed to help people recover from addiction to a number of substances. The length of each program and its intensity tend to vary, and the plan of care is based on your individual needs.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

In Illinois, comprehensive substance abuse treatment programs are available for individuals struggling with substances and their mental health. These programs offer various levels of care, including outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospitalization options. You'll also learn strategies to cope with relapse triggers and deal with stress.

Dual-diagnosis addiction treatment in Illinois focuses on integrated care for individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health conditions. These specialized rehab programs include detox, medication-assisted treatment, residential drug and alcohol rehab, and outpatient programs. Treatment incorporates a combination of trauma-informed and evidence-based therapies — like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing— support groups, and skills training to holistically address addiction and co-occurring disorders at the same time, enhancing your mental, physical, and emotional health.

They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Military Program

Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Men and women in Illinois learn to recognize their strengths and capabilities within a group therapy setting. Therapists use guided interventions to help families improve their interactions and address underlying issues that impact their relationships. This helps create a supportive atmosphere for the recovery process.

If you engage in cognitive behavioral therapy in Illinois, your therapist will work with you to change your thinking patterns. You'll learn how to recognize faulty thinking and develop skills to deal with stress without using substances.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Illinois typically involves keeping a diary to track actions and emotions. Your therapist will use this diary to determine what to focus on during each session. In addition to individual sessions, you'll also attend group meetings where you are trained in coping skills.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization And Reprocessing

Life skills training in Illinois gives you the tools you need to meet daily demands. These fall into three main categories: personal skills, interpersonal skills, and cognitive skills. While in rehab, you'll work on each of these areas as part of your recovery treatment.

Motivational interviewing in Illinois is person centered and collaborative. This method allows the therapist to come alongside the client to address the issue of ambivalence toward change. By listening and reflecting, the therapist helps the client see the need for change and commit to making changes.

During one on one therapy sessions for drug and alcohol addiction, you and your therapist work collaboratively to develop effective relapse prevention plans and improve your self awareness. This helps address your specific needs, including the effectiveness of several evidence based treatment modalities that may work best for you.

Recreational therapy in an addiction treatment program in Idaho helps you rediscover the joy and build healthy habits you can continue as you reenter the community. Activities can include gardening, yoga, and group games that all promote relaxation, improve mood, and encourage interaction and community building. These factors are crucial for sustaining long term recovery.

So, I admitted myself to Banyan Heartland the Sunday before Christmas 2024. There were about 25 people in there. All male and 2 or 3 females. Right off the bat, I liked it. I had been struggling with suboxin addiction for 8 years, but it felt great to think i was going to get the help i needed. So I threw my script in the trash, kissed my kids goodbye, and got picked up to go to Banyan. 4 days later, I was abruptly kicked out of the facility and driven 2 hours back home to go threw suboxin withdrawal in front of my 2 six year olds the day after Christmas. My kids thought I was missing Christmas because I had to go to the Dr for a month. Seeing me after having been gone for just 4 days and not making Christmas was worse than the withdrawals. Don't trust this place with yourself or your loved ones. The people who work here play favorites. They absolutely knew I wasn't giving anybody any number for drugs or anything else, but because somebody claimed I was, I was abruptly removed. 0 evidence of any wrongdoing whatsoever. Now they are trying to bill me for over 3k for being there just 3.5 days. I would have happily paid had they just provided the services the promised. You've been warned.

I am posting this review as the loved one of a patient. In our case, the patient relapsed the same day when they left the center. This place is ineffective and does not help individuals struggling with alcohol addiction. In particular, they are not a dual-diagnosis center. The goal of this center is to make money from inpatient program and clinically not provide the support for the patient after the treatment duration. In our case, after the inpatient program that lasts 14 days, the patient was asked to schedule a therapy session after 21 days externally by themselves. Do not get fooled by the numbers that are posted on the website about their success rates. In our case, the patient has severe depression and they diagnosed it, but they don’t do anything about it. In summary, addiction has an underlying root cause that ought to be treated - they do not address that. Secondly a 14 day rehab is hardly enough time - we learned all this in hindsight, unfortunately. They also do not communicate with family members, though they have consent. Emails and messages get ghosted because they do not want to talk to you. Giving the patient random advice and expecting them to follow through is not support or setting the patient up for success. They did tell me that you can’t work harder than the patient. Again, the patient in this case relapsed the very day he was discharged from rehab. I would certainly consider other less expensive places that may care more for the recovery phase of the patient, not just do the treatment and not care. Recovery is a lifelong process and any center that claims to do rehab has to address that through their treatment, or not offer it in the first place - they hurt real people. Yes, they have the same "canned" response that they copy and paste for any negative review posted here.

Very nice, clean & welcoming facility. A lot of space to roam, plenty of activities, breaks and a lot of free time. The staff is extremely attentive to the guests needs. The BHT & Nursing staff are outstanding and always pleasant. The Therapists are tremendously helpful and easily accessible. Great group sessions that provide an opportunity to openly participate. I was very happy to have electronic media time, it allowed me stay in contact with my loved ones and the outside world. The kitchen was under construction, so I can't give the cooking staff a fair assessment. They did a great job considering the circumstances. I highly recommend Banyan for a residential treatment option.

Blissful experience for every facet of their facility. Doing the whole program all the way through helped by blending the trust code when it came to leisurely wants and the comradery of the staff and peers to push myself when feeling stagnant.

Leaving this review not as a patient but close family of a patient that was in Banyan from May - June 2024. In the entire month that he was there, never once did I ever speak with any therapists, doctors, or even professionals concerning the family-aspect of recovery except for the day that I dropped him off. I received an email to join a zoom meeting for family members, and that was it. (Zoom meeting wasn't logical for me to attend because I have 3 children that I was left to care for by myself during this time.) I emailed his case worker/therapist and voiced my concerns about him returning home when he was still in treatment, no response from anyone. Patient, my family, relapsed less than 2 months after release, still currently using. Maybe if "family healing" was more included within the treatment process, things would be different. Very little effort from staff to bridge the gap between live-in family members and the patient. I received a text about a month ago asking for an update on the patient. Here is your update. Very disappointed in the treatment plan that was carried out by Banyan. A lot of important, key details are overlooked... I understand everyone has a different experience, this was mine as an outsider, in a nut shell. Once he left your facility, there was little to no contact. Seems like a revolving door, body brokering. You got paid by his insurance, you profited off of my family's pain. I hope you read this review and implement change. These are real people. Not profit for your pockets.
