About Banyan Heartland

Banyan Treatment Centers Gilman prides itself in giving clients the drug and alcohol treatment they deserve to help them truly find recovery and sobriety. As part of this plan, this rehab center offers four substance abuse treatment programs, and they include the following:

At the Banyan Treatment Center in Gilman, dedicated healthcare professionals provide patients with medically monitored detox services for drug and alcohol addiction. During a medically monitored detox at this addiction treatment center, individuals are given 24/7 care to ensure each patient can recover from withdrawals and cravings.

The accommodations during the detox phase are comfortable, and the environment is safe and promotes healing from substance abuse. Eligible candidates are also offered FDA approved medications to help mitigate the harmful effects of drug and alcohol withdrawal.

This rehab center’s partial hospitalization plan (PHP) offers 24 hour support and full time treatment for those who want to recover at home and in a hospital setting. The PHP offered by this detox center is individualized and customized, with individuals having access to therapy daily.

Patients will undergo group and individual therapy alongside other substance abuse treatment services like chiropractic care, Biofeedback Serenity Beds, and acupuncture. In addition, individuals will also attend 12 step meetings, and the length of stay in this program is dependent on each person’s unique recovery needs.

The intensive outpatient program (IOP) offers a wide variety of therapies in a relaxed environment. During this level of care, individuals are able to gain employment and stay at home in addition to attending recovery meetings and volunteering in their communities.

Those struggling with active addiction should consider attending this IOP, which is held five days a week during phase one and three days a week during phase two. During these sessions, individuals attending the group and individual counseling will develop coping skills and responsible behaviors alongside relapse prevention.

An emphasis is placed on long-term addiction recovery during this addiction treatment center outpatient program (OP). This OP offers individual and group counseling five days a week. It offers flexibility and time to those who require help with achieving sobriety.

Typically this OP offers treatment between three to nine hours a day to ensure individuals can balance treatment and everyday life. Although 24 hour care isn’t provided, patients work with therapists to create individualized treatment plans to treat substance abuse disorders.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Addiction treatment often begins with 24-hour clinical care in Illinois. This supervised setting is the best environment for detox.where medical staff can provide 24/7 supervision and responsive care as your body is cleansed of addictive substances. Doctors may prescribe antagonist and partial agonist drugs to counteract the effects of drugs or alcohol, or they may slowly taper down dosages of substances to end physical dependence on the drug.

During the medically supervised detox process, licensed medical professionals monitor your vitals and administer medications meant to help alleviate the physical symptoms of withdrawal. The process can take between five and seven days, although the actual length depends on your individual needs. In most cases, medically assisted detox is partially, if not fully, covered by insurance.

When participating in an inpatient rehab program, you'll reside at the treatment center for the duration of the program. Your housing and meals are provided, allowing you to focus on your recovery without outside triggers, stressors, and other distractions. You'll receive daily addiction counseling, drawing on various psychotherapeutic approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing. Many inpatient drug rehabs also offer complementary holistic therapies, such as yoga, meditation, or animal therapy, and creative arts therapy.

Participants in 12 step programs focus on emotional, psychological, and spiritual growth as the foundation for long-term sobriety. They engage in regular 12 step meetings, which are anonymous, free, and accessible day and night, year-round, in most communities. Participants also receive one-on-one mentoring from a self-selected sponsor. Though the 12 steps of recovery are based on spiritual principles, religious affiliation isn't required. Specialized formats are available, including programs for seniors, teens, and families.

Rehab aftercare programs provide a full continuum of care for clients who are exiting inpatient treatment. Though outpatient care is often considered an element of drug rehab aftercare, services typically continue for the remainder of the clients' life and long after formal treatment is completed. Clients work with their case managers and care team to formulate a customized portfolio of medical, mental health, and social service resources designed to evolve as the client's needs change.

Through advances in communications and medical technology, telehealth in Illinois has become a common option for receiving healthcare treatment. This practice involves the use of communication technologies to offer healthcare remotely rather than in person.

Treatments

Alcohol use disorder (alcoholism) can be severe, moderate, or mild. Symptoms include spending a lot of time drinking, wanting to stop but being unsuccessful, and feeling strong cravings that lead to overuse of alcohol. At any severity level, alcohol addiction is treatable through alcohol rehab in Illinois. Most comprehensive rehab programs include medical detox, inpatient rehab, and ongoing alcohol counseling/support (maintenance).

Drug rehab in Illinois is designed to help people recover from addiction to a number of substances. The length of each program and its intensity tend to vary, and the plan of care is based on your individual needs.

In Illinois, comprehensive substance abuse treatment programs are available for individuals struggling with substances and their mental health. These programs offer various levels of care, including outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospitalization options. Skilled clinicians utilize evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care to address substance abuse and improve your mental health. You'll also learn strategies to cope with relapse triggers and deal with stress.

Dual-diagnosis addiction treatment in Illinois focuses on integrated care for individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health conditions. These specialized rehab programs include detox, medication-assisted treatment, residential drug and alcohol rehab, and outpatient programs. Treatment incorporates a combination of trauma-informed and evidence-based therapies — like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing— support groups, and skills training to holistically address addiction and co-occurring disorders at the same time, enhancing your mental, physical, and emotional health.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Men and women in Illinois learn to recognize their strengths and capabilities within a group therapy setting. This helps to boost their self image and self confidence as they work toward overcoming addiction and building a healthier life. Group therapy is a perfect environment for you to see successful recovery behaviors and become inspired to manage your addiction.

Trauma therapy provides you with a safe and supportive environment so you can address a traumatic experience. Your therapist helps guide you to understand your emotional, mental, and physical responses while developing healthier coping skills. This helps to improve your emotional resilience and ability to function in the community.

Family therapy helps to rebuild trust and strengthen relationships that have been affected by addiction. Therapists use guided interventions to help families improve their interactions and address underlying issues that impact their relationships. This helps create a supportive atmosphere for the recovery process.

A therapist who specializes in creative arts therapy in Illinois helps you communicate your feelings through expressive activities such as painting, music, or acting. Skill in the art form is not required to benefit from this type of therapy.

If you engage in cognitive behavioral therapy in Illinois, your therapist will work with you to change your thinking patterns. You'll learn how to recognize faulty thinking and develop skills to deal with stress without using substances.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Illinois typically involves keeping a diary to track actions and emotions. Your therapist will use this diary to determine what to focus on during each session. In addition to individual sessions, you'll also attend group meetings where you are trained in coping skills.

Life skills training in Illinois gives you the tools you need to meet daily demands. These fall into three main categories: personal skills, interpersonal skills, and cognitive skills. While in rehab, you'll work on each of these areas as part of your recovery treatment.

Motivational interviewing in Illinois is person centered and collaborative. This method allows the therapist to come alongside the client to address the issue of ambivalence toward change. By listening and reflecting, the therapist helps the client see the need for change and commit to making changes.

During one on one therapy sessions for drug and alcohol addiction, you and your therapist work collaboratively to develop effective relapse prevention plans and improve your self awareness. This helps address your specific needs, including the effectiveness of several evidence based treatment modalities that may work best for you.

Recreational therapy in an addiction treatment program in Idaho helps you rediscover the joy and build healthy habits you can continue as you reenter the community. Activities can include gardening, yoga, and group games that all promote relaxation, improve mood, and encourage interaction and community building. These factors are crucial for sustaining long term recovery.

I had high hopes for Banyan heartland but unfortunately the services there were mediocre at best. My husband was placed there from October 10th until November 5th. For the entire duration of his treatment, I was NEVER contacted at all by the after care coordinator/case manager(April Long).I spoke to the assigned therapist, ONCE and that was only after I called the facility several times and was finally able to reach her(April Bradley). How can patients be set up for long lasting success when ZERO contact or collaboration has been made with the family?? I have been a social worker myself for nearly 30 years and as such, I can attest that the standard of care at Banyan is poor. I was the one to find the next step down placement for my husband, NOT the case manager. Patients are only there for a short time and as such, the family should be incorporated immediately into service provision. My husband‘s therapist was out sick for 2 of the 4 weeks he was there. You would think because treatment needs to be intensive in that short period of time, they would have assigned another therapist to take over while his original therapist was ill. They did not. They simply did not provide the individual therapy during that period of time. Then, in an effort to get some resolution, I called and left a message for the executive director but did not receive a return call. Unprofessional to say the least. It seems like the program is nothing more than an insurance suck. Very disappointing. I hope his next level of treatment is much more effective. I would not recommend Banyan.

A friend of mine has been there 4 times. I have seen others on here complain about the same thing, family inclusion and zero follow up with patients when they go home. It strikes me as just a money maker because of the massive relapses. On the last visit they told him some people have done it 18 times as if it's normal to relapse that much. I just wanted to ask them what's available for those going home to a house that is a complete disaster and what to do but received no call back after trying to get in touch several times. I am the one they called prior to admission to assist and am on his list of people to call.
