My daughter has been there for 5 years. She's had her ups and down, but the staff there has been great with her. She has shown much improvement. Grateful for all of them there, they have a rough job, but seem to enjoy helping these kids. Miss all of you guys, thanks for everything you have done❤️💙💛💜

Since my son receives therapy and medication management here, I’m here on a weekly basis. The main entrance is on the right side of the buildings. When you walk in, there is the main waiting room with the receptionist area to check in. There are a few books and magazines to dad while waiting. Children’s artwork decorate the walls in addition to the required documents that need to be posted. There is an additional waiting room in another straight to the back when you walk in. That is the best waiting room if you’re there for medication management, which is virtual. The receptionist, Jill, is super friendly! Wait times for scheduled appointments can vary. Overall, not bad.

I have been here for a long time and have 27 take homes. If u actually wanna get clean and not just use it bc u can’t find anything else than the place is good plus since getting a new head nurse “that we needed so bad” n when Anna was the director things have gotten much better. even tho Anna is not there anymore she got it together and it seems like the new director is following her lead, the only bad thing I can say about Baart is if someone skips line or being disrespectful and you say something then I would be punished by holding my take homes over my head while the other person who started the mess has no take home’s receive no kinda punishment.

I graduated this program in 2016. I had my daughter while I was there. I wasnt the easiest client to deal with. I gave them hell. Had a horrible attitude. Was so ungrateful. Looking back im so grateful for this program. They took me in with just the clothes on my back, got me hooked up with medicaid and foodstamps as well as a strong support system within the program. They offer parenting classes, therapy, child therapy, case workers, they house you while you are there and make sure you have somewhere safe to stay when you leave. I was allowed an extension by 2 months just to make sure I had somewhere to go since I was homeless when I came in. The staff are stern in policy but they truly care! They wouldn't be in this if they didnt! That's for sure! My daughter will be 10 in a couple months and I catch myself using the things I learned in parenting classes I took here before she was even born! I stop by there from time to time hoping to see some of the workers that were there when I was, and there are still several there!. Im forever grateful for unc horizons and I would highly suggest this place to any mother who is truly ready to get their life back!

I love my doctors! I've never had a doctor or their office actually meet me halfway. My therapist and psychiatrist are always there when I need them. I don't have to worry about making sure that I have a ride to get to and from my appointments, the virtual visits are very convenient, especially when you're a single parent. They work around the minor inconveniences when you have kids in the background yelling for you. They don't keep you on the phone any longer than needed, when you're the only parent taking care of them. The patient portal is very convenient as well, especially after hours. You can still get a hold of them to talk about changes to your information, needing to make or cancel an appointment, etc...they say that it could take up to 2 days for a reply. But I've never had to wait, but just a few minutes to get a message back.

I want to extend a special shout out to Miguel, Mana, and Charlie. When my father-in-law's ride home was canceled and the companies he uses didn't have any drivers available for four hours, these men became our guardian angels. We were out of options until I decided to try to take him home myself. They helped us load my father-in-law and his wheelchair into my vehicle, enabling me to get him home safely. I have seen so many negative reviews about this place. However, my experience during my son Yahki admission was truly a blessing and excellent. I have to say some of the customer service reps can be insensitive 😑 which is the first form of contract to get through to the nurses, Provider, or your love ones Care-Team. It first, there insensitiveness was annoying to me, but then, I began to look at things differently. There lack of insensitivity, give me a determination to show them how much I care about my son and his Mental health. And if this meant calling a 100 times until I got through to speak to his nurse or his provider, then I qould. Although, I did not call a hundred time, but I did called and show up at Cone Health Behavioral Hospital until I was able to speak to several nurses, staffs, a Doctor, (Provider), and the Manager who were more then caring and help during his time at the hospital. Thanks you all so very Much. May God continue to blessed your entire team for what you all do daily for our love ones. Special thanks to Agee, Tina, Elizabeth, Dr.P, Laura, Mike who goes by the name ( slick ), Ayesha, and several others that I have forgotten your names. Thanks so much for your prayers and for taking care of my Yahki. I appreciate all that your you all do. Thanks also to the customer service reps for teaching me that persistence and determination brings about positive results if I / we truly looking to seek a positive outcome in life.

I’m seeing a lot of bad reviews about this facility, but i wanted to share my experience; and maybe bring some things to light for people who are thinking about seeking help for their children here. I was admitted in the adolescent unit in march of 2024. I have severe anxiety, so i was terrified of being away from home and staying somewhere else. Little did i know i had absolutely nothing to be worried about. I got treated with a lot of respect here. The food was wonderful, the place was kept very clean, and everyone was very kind to me. The group felt very supportive of one another, and it was a great environment. The nurses were some of my favorite people, especially nurse sheila. She was very supportive of my personal situation at the time, she always made a point to ask me how i was doing and take a second to focus on me. Even during medicine, which is sort of fast paced for the nurses. There were some annoying parts at some points obviously, a certain nurse kept leaving our doors open all night for checks, and the light was bright in the hallway. that’s the worst thing i experienced here. It was really good for someone like me. Again, this is my personal experience in march of 2024. I don’t know how it has changed since, but this place and the people really left a mark on me. it was a great experience overall.

I cannot say enough great things about the Durham VA Health Care System. I am 50 years old and have been treated by many VA and civilian doctors over the years — and I can honestly say Dr. Suggs is the best doctor I have ever had in my life. He is knowledgeable, patient, compassionate, and truly takes the time to listen. He made me feel heard and cared for, not rushed. That kind of dedication means everything. The Dental Clinic was just as impressive. Mrs. Davis was incredibly helpful and answered every single one of my questions with kindness and professionalism. She went above and beyond to make sure I understood everything and felt comfortable. The entire staff was top notch — professional, respectful, and genuinely caring. I have been to at least 20 VA facilities across the country, and this one stands above the rest. I actually live in Atlanta, but if I could, I would fly here just to receive care at this VA. Dr. John Villani treated me with the utmost respect and professionalism. I was seen quickly and received efficient, thorough care. He took the time to listen to all of my concerns and ensured I was properly anesthetized with enough lidocaine for an effective nerve block. The antibiotics he prescribed worked extremely well—my infection and pain are now completely resolved. As a nurse practitioner and former ER nurse, I truly appreciate high-quality, patient-centered care, and this was one of the most pleasant and efficient ER visits I’ve ever had.
