My daughter was troubled and uncertain and MYA played a huge role in helping her find alternative solutions to expressing her frustrations. No parent ever wants to have to go through admitting their child to a residential treatment program. Especially one hours away. Today may be the first day, but when I say Willie Wolfe was absolutely amazing, kind, honest, understanding, non judgemental from the first phone call a week ago all the way through the admissions process. The people we interacted with was amazing and got it. The NP got it. He was so knowledgeable and understood what we have been saying for a while now. For the first time in the 2 years we have been trying to get our son help that I didnt feel like I was being judged and criticized or like I was exaggerating my child's behavior or like I am crazy. For the first time, I feel validated as a concerned parent who wants her 8 yr old to be ok. For the first time, I feel heard. The facility is clean and amazing and SAFE! As a parent in this situation and leaving their child several hours away, I feel as good as I possibly can right now.

I came here about half a year ago because I was in dcs custody, I didn't like it at first but the staff were cool and the other kids were... interesting, I had fun times there and made some friends, and I was sad and happy to leave, and now I'm making a review to say that this was overall a great place and it helped me become better, 8/10 would recommend

I have nothing but respect for the staff at the Wytheville office. I've been coming to this office for a little over a yr now and can truly say they have been a major part of my positive recovery. The ladies at front desk are the best. They have gone out of there way to address any and all issues I throw at them, thank yall for that. Like the other post said, it's not your standard cash and grab rehab station. And I've had my experience with a few of them. I really look forward to going to the office. There is so much more I could say about this team, but that's between us. Go on and make the step to reclaim your life, and you will then know what I mean.

Was there in 1990 my room mate almost burned the place down. JB and Vicki were robbing the place blind. Finally got some new people to run it and they were fantastic. Great place!

Child and Youth Center is a great place for children, the customer service is excellent and the programs are perfectly structured to provide the best help to the children. The personalized approach they give to each child is fundamental to their well-being.

I graduated their long term rehab 3 plus years ago. So grateful for First to be there. I learned there, it was up to me. Not them. A safe area to gather and use all the tools they had for a very good outcome in sobriety and a grateful life. I kept in between the lines they presented me. Knew I was there to learn and grow and it was up to me ( not them, or anyone for that matter ), to grow. To learn. To be the me I truly wanted. Having First as my final page in rehab, after two long term others, I came out knowing I had done this for me and my appreciation and gratitude for THEM To be there is a daily thought, thanks and gratitude. First @ Blue Ridge saved and changed my life! All my house managers loved me til I was able to love myself again. I was a peer leader and an auxiliary house manager during my time as a client. I graduated Feb 15, 2024 and I couldn’t have done it without all the love and support from all the staff as well as the ladies that were on my journey with me! Some of those bonds I’ll cherish forever. It’s really a great program, it works if you work it!

Hello my name is Jackson. I went here from February 2024 - May 2024. And again August 2024 - September 2024 | This place is really what you make it. It’s a truly unique experience that you won’t get to experience ever again. The campus is super cool and refreshing. They have a barn with horses, a mule, and a donkey. They have a pretty cool ropes course, a big house that you share with 13 other kids and staff, a van and a car that they take you to places in (AA, NA, Activities), and 2 pretty cool chefs who make surprisingly good food for a treatment center. I had the pleasure of working with Valerie. I’ve worked with so many therapists over the years but she truly sticks out from all of them. She’s incredibly nice and very good at her job. Although when I came back home after my first trip here I ended up falling back into my same habits but worse. Which resulted in my coming back to foothills for a second time and wilderness after that. This is not foothills fault for not giving me enough resources. It’s my fault for not taking it serious enough. I’m currently in my 8th treatment program in Utah 320+ days sober. And I can say this program was a part of that sobriety. Watch of for staff that give kids substances, kids that get substances on outings, and kids mistreating other kids to fit in. Before sending your kid here, I recommend you do a lot of research to truly see if this fits your kids needs. Good luck 👁️

Foothills helped me to mature and grow mentally much more then I would have had I been at home, I feel like the majority of the staff really do care and I think it’s a good place for recovery and a big shout out to Casey he helped me a lot and is very supportive and tries to connect with the kids there.

The one star reviews seem to be from people who were removed from the program due to choices they made ie…consequences were enforced. It is a homey, clean facility with a beautiful campus. A wonderful facility with caring and present staff. The support our entire family received was amazing.
