From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel safe and supported. The counselors are compassionate and truly understand addiction. The therapy sessions were incredibly helpful, and I learned so much about myself and the underlying causes of my addiction. What sets Willow Ridge apart is the sense of community. I connected with other patients who were going through similar struggles, and we supported each other every step of the way. The group activities and outings were also a lot of fun and helped me rediscover some of my passions. I had a wonderful experience here which may seem odd to say because of the type of place it is but I mean it. I was at the lowest point in my life and had to be transferred here from Holsten Valley ER (voluntarily) and was super scared to go but felt incredibly welcomed by patients and staff. The staff there will always talk to you and listen to what you have to say and even if you have to ramble they will listen. I had one night where I was absolutely having a miserable panic attack and they did everything they could to calm me down. The food was AMAZING for some reason and I cannot complement the chefs and Lasagna enough. They even went out of their way to find me stuff to eat because of a restricted diet due to my teeth. Sure it was just soups and uncrustables but they didn't have to do that. They even made a vegetarian meal for another patient there. The only "complaint' is that they wake you up to check your vitals but you don't have to leave your room at least in the middle of the night. You get used to it though. You have completely free control over what you do other than vital checks and a morning meeting around 9 that everyone must attend. She helped me massively with getting a job I was comfortable with. She assisted me with clothing and rides too places I needed too be at. I struggle with social environments among other things, while working with her she was patient and considerate of my boundaries. She made me feel like it was okay too be a person in a working environment that wants machines. Working with Cassandra has genuinly helped me become a better person aside from MASSIVELY helping me get a job. With how hard it is too get a job now, shes helped me get multiple interviews before I settled with my current job. If you are applying for work, work with the people here. I have been coming here for 3 years, and I have always loved my therapists, I love my case manager, and the doctors and nurse practitioners are pretty good too. They are always so kind, understanding, great listeners, and offer great advice. The only downside is they seem to change staff frequently so I’ve had to change therapists like 3 times. But I have loved every single one! I don’t know why this place has so many negative reviews. I’ve always had a very positive experience. Tiffany Mullis 1 month ago I dropped my son off nine months ago at NSR. At that time, I didn’t realize how much of a codependency I had with my son. Even after dropping him off, I tried to stay involved in the day-to-day details which was the very reason I dropped him off in the first place. So i wouldn’t have to stay in the details and could focus on me. My advice is to let the process work. My son is now in a much better place and said this was the best decision he had ever made. I am also in a much better place and the Tuesday night parent calls are a must do for any one that has family in the program. NSR provides more freedom and flexibility in their program that a lot of other places did not. That was a deciding factor when I was initially looking for a place for my son to go. Then I found next step, and my second chance at a better, clean and sober life. I've been in and out of rehabs and detoxes my whole life. But this facility was different. I was welcomed like I was family and I had come home. With the love and compassion, not judged, but given a real chance at a better life. I'm currently living in the sober living house, and unlike a lot of places. The houses are very nice, clean, and up to date homes fully furnished. The staff is excellent, and always available to help with anything I need. Today I feel like a better man, a better husband, a better father, and I owe it all to next step recovery. We have all had exceptional service from all of the care providers. In an atmosphere that can be pretty thankless at times due to each patients needs, wants and desires the staff handles it with professional skills. Cannot say enough about the ER. They are helpful and caring from the moment you walk through the doors until the moment you leave. Our primary care doctors are fantastic given the workload they carry. Even if you have not seen the care provider in a year when you walk in it is just like yesterday you spoke with them. Every place will have it's ups and downs. Good and bad experiences based on the individual needs of others. But, the amount of patients seen here it is amazing how smooth this place operates. For a Veteran it is like going home in a familiar comrade way! Thank you from the heart to each and every caregiver. Always remember if you feel you need just a little more attention contact patient advocacy and watch the wheel start spinning in the right direction.
