This was a great place to clean up, and make positive changes. It was a safe clean place, which is more than I can say for other similar institutions. Special shoutouts to Rachael my therapist, and Maggie my caseworker. Loved Megan the nurse, she was instrumental in helping with making sure I had a good plan for discharge. I ve read a couple reviews, from people that seem to have unrealistic expectations for what happens at treatment. Clean safe and people who really do there best to help make sure you are setup for success. 10/10 would recommend if you or a loved one are looking to make a change.

SEE AMENDMENT BELOW. Five stars across the board. The staff (led by Vanessa and her highly competent crew of Therapists, Case Manager Cat and front-end experts Eric & Stephanie) at "The Center", the outpost for PHP and IOP services, operates efficiently, professionally, and most importantly, compassionately. Housing (separately operated for those who qualify) is a short van ride away for those who don't commute from home. The housing staff, including Brad, Ernesto, Emma, Pete, Kari, Maggie, John, and many others whose names are too numerous to list, promote a meaningful and inspiring path to recovery and do their absolute best to ensure that the residents remain committed to long-term sobriety.AMENDMENTS : Ernest Kear, mentioned above and employed as a BHT (tech) for Banyan in Naperville, IL, stole two of my watches entrusted to him and Banyan. One a Rolex given to me by my parents, and the other a Rolex Tudor I recently bought for one of my sons as a graduation gift. He was terminated as a result via Ms. McQueen of Banyan corporate in Pamano Beach, FL. They re in the process of being sued if their in house attorney, Sarah Thompson, does not resolve this ASAP.

Accepted Insurance

Banyan Chicago works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Clients in outpatient rehab receive a variety of services based on their unique and evolving needs. Typical outpatient treatment modalities include individual, group, and family counseling, recovery-focused life skills training, and community reintegration support. Many programs also provide medication assisted treatment (MAT) for clients recovering from alcohol and/or opioid dependency. Clients exiting inpatient treatment or those who are at an elevated risk of relapse may engage in more robust treatment, such as intensive outpatient (IOP) programming.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs. The Intensive Outpatient Program gives patients the chance to participate in a structured treatment plan part-time while they transition back to home and work or other responsibilities.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs provide a full continuum of care for clients who are exiting inpatient treatment. Though outpatient care is often considered an element of drug rehab aftercare, services typically continue for the remainder of the clients' life and long after formal treatment is completed. Clients work with their case managers and care team to formulate a customized portfolio of medical, mental health, and social service resources designed to evolve as the client's needs change.
12-step icon12-Step
Participants in 12 step programs focus on emotional, psychological, and spiritual growth as the foundation for long-term sobriety. They engage in regular 12 step meetings, which are anonymous, free, and accessible day and night, year-round, in most communities. Participants also receive one-on-one mentoring from a self-selected sponsor. Though the 12 steps of recovery are based on spiritual principles, religious affiliation isn't required. Specialized formats are available, including programs for seniors, teens, and families.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Living in a sober living home in Illinois is a lot like living in a traditional home. Everyone must contribute to household chores and maintenance. All residents must work and pay rent. Individuals can mostly come and go as they please, but they must be home before curfew. Most men's and women's sober living homes also host house meetings where they resolve disputes, assign responsibilities, and welcome new residents.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Loved ones can utilize a drug intervention in Illinois to help with addressing a family member's problematic substance use. The goal of the intervention is to educate the individual about the negative effects of their substance use and encourage them to accept professional treatment. Intervention services can help families initiate this conversation and plan appropriate follow-up care, such as inpatient or outpatient rehab.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
As a flexible option, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is tailored for those who don't require 24-hour care. PHP treatment can include daily therapeutic sessions and services such as relapse prevention and medication management. Based on your needs, PHP treatment duration can average 90 days and require a minimum of 20 hours of commitment weekly. While a partial hospitalization program typically requires a commute, telehealth may be available. PHP treatment costs can vary but are often covered by most insurance.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
During the medically supervised detox process, licensed medical professionals monitor your vitals and administer medications meant to help alleviate the physical symptoms of withdrawal. The process can take between five and seven days, although the actual length depends on your individual needs. In most cases, medically assisted detox is partially, if not fully, covered by insurance.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Being at Banyan was a game changer for me. I have been struggling with my addiction for over 13 years and after multiple attempts at other facilities I finally feel I have the necessary tools to get it right this time. A large part of that was the staff. Everyone from the councilors, administrators, nursing, and staff in general were on their game. I would recommend Banyan to anyone whether they are early on in their recovery or have been struggling for a long time like myself. Thank you Banyan and I look forward to coming back. Of course that is to visit with long term sobriety and a happy new life!!!

My experience at Banyan was amazing! From the initial call I received from Jacob when searching for help and the constant follow up-not feeling like a burden, rather caring, I came back from an out of state facility and so glad I made this choice. Maggie was extremely welcoming and helped so much with her personal experience and very resourceful with assistance along the way. The staff made sure to make me feel like a person and not just a statistic. Groups were ran with us in mind, not just “textbook handouts”. The housing was close to the facility and felt like own home. I owe a lot to Banyan thank you for being there at one of my lowest points!

Banyan Chicago(Naperville) was an absolute joke. I paid a $1000 deductible out of pocket because they are out of network for Blue Cross which should have been a red flag right there. The PHP programming consisted of a daily AA only meeting to start, followed by a CBT or DBT group. They rarely tossed in an (optional) which would be art therapy or music therapy. The staff was wildly inexperienced(minus Maggie who was great). My assigned therapist Natalie could not and would not maintain eye contact while in session. What really got to me was during the week of Thanksgiving while Banyan was short staffed, they put on a movie which was Adam Sandler's "Click" and claimed it was a recovery movie... The PHP housing is a disgusting 6 flat apartment building about 2 miles away. I had to spend my entire first night cleaning every inch. Replacing shower curtains and covering the couches with blankets using my own money. I would highly recommend searching for another treatment facility.
