Just finished my exit interview after a state mandated probation restriction and I can say I wish i started it sooner than I did. Julian and the entire staff are there to help anyone willing to enter (or forced in my case) a recovery program with open arms. Sure, it costs money and it's not a RESORT type program (anyone that has seen the movie 28 days knows what i mean).. but the therapy is very helpful and worthwhile if you're either struggling... or in my case... BUSTED doing something stupid. The understanding that people make mistakes is first and foremost... the encouragement for self help is right there... and the personal attention via 1 on 1 is great. The group sessions were relaxed and often entertaining.... sharing stories of mistakes and triumphs... goofy occurances and others in the group lovingly joking about why and how we ended up there..... whether by choice or law.... They're highly resourceful for any additional help someone might feel the need to reach for as well. As strange as it may sound.... i'm kinda gonna miss going in. If you feel like you're struggling with addiction... maybe problems at home... maybe the loss of a loved one... or anything... i seriously can't recommend them highly enough. Thanks again Julian, and the entire staff at Fresh Start Hammond!

The food is great and the staff hold you accountable, the facility could be a little bit cleaner but with one cleaning lady who puts in a lot of work what do you expect.This facility makes you feel like you will be ready to get out there on your own and succeed on your recovery journey.

I can't stand the negative reviews. YES I WAS THERE. Six months ago, I almost didn't stay but I did. Such incredible staff and an incredible program. Met some of the greatest people to ever want to change their life around. Residential was amazing. PHP also an incredible program attended both with full support from all staff and peers. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND RECOVERY WORKS TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO BETTER THEMSELVES.

When I first came to Above And Beyond I thought I was just going to go just to satisfy my court orders. After the first day I was amazed at all my groups were designed for every problem i had . And boi did they address them. I really found out that drugs was just an experience and a very bad decision. I love Above And Beyond. I had a great experience with Better Life md, the whole process was very simple! I really liked the provider, and the rest of the staff were very nice and helpful. I met Dr. O today, he was so nice and informative, he does an incredible job of explaining things, and he truly cares. I can see that in people, and he is a dr that really cares about patients he cares for. It’s rare this day and age, and I really respect that, I am really happy I made the switch to Dr. O’s office. Overall, my experience at Gateway Chicago was exceptional and overwhelmingly positive. From the moment I arrived, I was treated with dignity, respect, and genuine compassion. The food was good, the staff was outstanding, and my counselor, Nate, was incredibly helpful throughout my stay. Supervisor Herb is highly professional and, as he often says, he "gets things done" for the clients—a statement I personally witnessed time and time again. His leadership has had a tremendous impact on the men's unit, and he deserves recognition for creating an environment where clients feel supported, respected, and encouraged to succeed. I would also like to recognize Mike, Muhammad, Kenny, Kevin, Richard, Eva, Prentice, Katelyn, China, Mr. B, and Dale. Dale's classes are engaging, informative, and inspiring, and his passion for recovery is evident in every interaction he has with clients. Every one of these staff members demonstrated professionalism, compassion, patience, and dedication. They treated not only me but every client with kindness and respect, making recovery feel possible and giving people hope during one of the most difficult times in their lives. Gateway Chicago, located at 3828 West Taylor Street, Chicago, Illinois 60624, did far more than provide substance abuse treatment—it helped bring sanity, clarity, and serenity back into my life. The staff consistently went above and beyond to accommodate my needs and the needs of others. I witnessed countless acts of generosity and compassion. For example, today the facility distributed an abundance of quality clothing to clients. Priority was given to those who arrived with nothing, and after everyone in need was taken care of, there were still enough clothes for others. It was just one of many examples of how Gateway genuinely cares about the people they serve. The facility itself is clean and well maintained. The beds are comfortable, clients receive three meals a day along with a snack, and the overall atmosphere promotes healing and recovery. While anyone can find something to criticize about any organization, I found very few, if any, faults with Gateway Chicago. My overall experience exceeded my expectations. I am sincerely grateful to the ownership, the corporate leadership, and every member of the staff for the hard work, compassion, passion, and dedication they show every day to individuals seeking recovery. Most importantly, I am grateful that Gateway helped me regain peace of mind, hope for the future, and the serenity I had been missing for so long. I wholeheartedly recommend Gateway Chicago to anyone seeking treatment. Their commitment to helping people rebuild their lives is evident in everything they do, and I will always be thankful for the care and support I received there.

The people saying that the food was like Cook county jail's food obviously never been to Cook county. It's like they say it only works if you work it this place takes a lot of people that don't have insurance therefore they probably don't make a lot of money but overall the people care they care enough to take care of people that can't take care of themselves and can't afford it either. It's truly disturbing that a lot of people gave a one-star rating just because of food. This place saved my life, I was on Mater Hall with my child. I loved Mater Hall and most of the counselors, and caseworkers.. Ms Pink and Ms Jones were just case workers and I felt I got more advice and help from them, Emily was also extremely helpful and supportive. I recommend this place fully!! The focus is getting clean not being pampered like your on vacation !!!

Shout out to Ms. Jones and Ms. D aka Ms. PINK 🩷 Ms. Jebriyah Ms. Daryce and Ms. Michelle of mater hall, they make staying worth it with their down to earthness and constant support. They really understand us women and what we go thru. I won't say the same for the supervisor Emily who literally runs a maternity ward and will deny you your cravings no matter how reasonable it is. She made it feel like a prison with your special commissary and be thankful you even eat attitude. Pregnant woman should be allowed SWEETS AND ICE CREAM especially if those items can be purchased downstairs in the pharmacy. My time at Haymarket flew by and I was able to complete 22 days successfully and get my first ever certification of completion 🤗 and have been able to stay sober since I've been home. Going back to the staff above I constantly remember things they said that stuck with me and all the support they gave just by being real. Haymarket food isn't the best consider it county food but they did end up hooking a girl up due to health issues (shout out to Danielle &Wanda) also their doula program is AMAZING the doulas they have are the absolute best (Alexis and Crystal!) they also have powerful testimonies and really care about you as a person and a mother. The counselors and caseworkers they have also help manage your case (shout out Ms Lisa!) Once again I'm greatful to this place for employing staff who have powerful testimony and can actually relate to where you are in your recovery journey. All jokes aside they should have a security officer on the floor at all times it was a little intense with all the fighting 🫣 Thank you to the staff at Haymarket for everything and for my floor mates for making the time go by fast and for the life long friendships made!

I came in today with a heavy broken heart with no hope and every single person there gave me the faith in myself I recently lost. From the woman who made my appointment- the woman who checked me in- the nurses- medical administrator & my counselor. I’ve seen some of the negative reviews here, and I wanted to share a different perspective. This is difficult work. The staff often meet people on some of the hardest days of their lives, and those situations aren’t always easy. I’ve personally seen staff deal with some incredibly difficult circumstances, and I’ve been impressed by the patience, kindness, and professionalism they show. Are things always perfect? Of course not. But there are a lot of really good people here who care about what they do and genuinely want to help. I think that deserves to be said, too.

Most grateful for this treatment center on my 7th anniversary sober from alcohol. The seeds Hazeldon planted saved my life! Shame on whoever is letting Susan Nice run meetings out of your building. She let a stranger stroke my leg her entire meeting and never stopped it once. Had the audacity to ask if it was my boyfriend after. Knowing I live with PTSD from abuse being my longtime 'godsponsor'. She just spoke at the Canada opening. How are you letting someone so detached from reality speak to those in need of help? How many meetings has she been to? Her suggestions along with Laura Ws (whos Mom works with congress scary enough) and the ladies of AA in particular are reckless. Suggested I do my first lead of life and didnt show up. How many woman have you sponsored Laura? You suggested more fellowship and ditched me at my first AA dance. 2 ladies came to Windy City Church women's big book meeting on Mondays and felt so shamed the went home and killed themselves. Those ladies made me feel the same but I refuse to kill myself though your careless suggestions made me feel like I should. The ladies in AA arent doctors. Thanks for being professionals Hazeldon. Alano clubs are hot spots for gossip that's ruining lives. Grateful to be alive and sober. Thanks for starting my journey with me 14 years ago! Hiding under fake names to gain personal information is illegal too Tricia. Shame on all of you ladies.

I love this lil gem that's been a Godsend in my life. I never knew this Dr's ofc was inside as I drove many times past. It's an AWESOME place for those who suffer from depression or any mental illness. I love it bcuz it's one stop shop w/psychiatry Dr's & therapists together in a small, intimate, private setting. The Dr's are phenomenal & the therapists are excellent. I've been suffering w/depression for awhile now going from Dr. to Dr. on the same meds that weren't helping, looking for someone long term to help me. I've been here nearly 5 weeks & feel a million times better than when I orginally walked in. The medication (if needed) & therapy together work wonders. I'm so relieved to have found this place & finally am seeing a light at the end of a very dark tunnel.

PSI saved my life. The people here not only helped me want to live a healthier life, but they also helped me find my voice again. This was my second IOP program and honestly the service and care that I received was on a completely different level. Mike Geraci is one of the best therapists I've ever had the pleasure of working with. PSI and Mike went above and beyond for me and my peers to make sure that we finished the program ready to jump back into our lives. I also spent time and stayed at the sober living apartments through PSI and would highly recommend this choice. The apartment was comfortable and in a great location. I was I went to PHP from the Residential and than I stayed for the IOP and I can tell it was awesome the therapist there are always willing to talk even if they are not your therapist I miss this place and Maria is the director but she was the best and she knows what she is doing and I felt I had so much support there and they was awesome.

My PHP experience has been everything and more than I could ask for. The groups are educational and meet all of my needs. Erin, my therapist understands exactly how I feel and meets me where I am. She pushes me to my limits and had made me a better person all around. I have been doing better as a whole and that is due to the support of this amazing step down program.

I am so grateful i found timberline knolls. I feel it helped more than i even thought it would. I was impressed by how much everyone cared and how helpful everyone was. For the first time i see hope in recovery and feel i can be successful.
