Good place to get help but beware of the groups they force you to talk about issues and then the groups are supposed to be confidential no they are not.my medication doctor sent a referral over about individual therapy which was for a female but instead set me up with a male.my medication doctor stopped communicating and listening to me and chose to listen and communicate with my behavior staff who I see once a week.i like Dr. Soleai but I am the patient not the behavior staff.

As of this writing I have a years experience with this location and program so will try and clarify things a bit. An important thing to understand is that each house is independent and ran by the current residents under guidelines set forth by its area chapter which in turn is governed by the state chapter then national program. Each house is run democratically by its residents with a persons power being in their vote. I feel most of the negative reviews I've heard are from those who relapsed or who routinely or egregiously violated rules and were kicked out. The only violations that allow for immediate expulsion are relapse, violence, or those of a potentially criminal nature. This program is not a good fit for everyone as it is more of a peer supported independent living type situation. It is not as rigidly governed as many halfway houses and is better suited for those comfortable in recovery and capable of living independently but still desiring some structure and guidance. As for Emyla specifically I would say it is a great location. It is near downtown with Leeper Park and the river nearly next door. The residents tend to be easy going and get along well. The house is big with 3 full baths, 3 kitchens, and 2 living rooms. It is worth looking into the place to see if it is for you but remember it is not for everyone.

I had an overall good experience. Clean facility, nice rooms, staff good for the most part. I Had issues with stuff being stolen. Issue with a nurse being unprofessional, but it was taken care of. Bruce the client care coordinator is amazing. He took time after his shift to talk to me and help me during a difficult time.

The first i left early and didn’t get everything i needed, that’s on me. this time has been amazing. the groups are full of great information, the facilitators genuinely care and go out of their way to help, and the client care team is WONDERFUL. Bruce, Liz, Jackie, Brennan, and Robert have done a lot for me to help me better my life and situation at home. If you ever need any kind of help - mental, substance abuse, ANYTHING, this is the place to go. I would send my son here if he ever needed it.

I have been going to Oaklawn now for about 7 years, when I first decided to start I was at my lowest of lows, the only time in my life I felt I was going to act on my suicidal thoughts. I had never been as depressed as I was in those few months and I have delt with depression almost my entire life. I really didn’t believe I could be helped, but I tried for my children’s sake as my oldest son had already lost his father to reckless decisions. Brandy saved my life, she has continuously encouraged me and never judged me even when most would have. She has not only been one of the best phycologists I have ever met, she has also been a good friend. She has helped to guide me in the right direction and been there through every up and every down I’ve had over this past 7 years, despite my many screw ups she has never made me feel as though I was just a mess, she really saved my life, I can not stress this enough. If you do the work on yourself and actually use the program and take the advice given, this place can and will help. You also have to be patient and understand you are not the only client being worked with.

SPA Women’s Ministry is truly amazing. A place you feel Gods presence and love!! A place you truly come as you are but will leave changed!! A place you face reality and truth; but with gentleness and compassion! You walk in welcomed and walk out transformed and feeling Jesus’s tangible love for you. I volunteer once a month for a fun night and I truly am blessed beyond measure!! (Probably more than I can give). I go with the intention to give and to encourage and I leave more encouraged!! It’s an anointed place and I pray the Lord continues to move and transform through this ministry! I'm dealing with an incredibly challenging medical crisis which has impacted my poor son in ways one cannot describe. The level of compassion, care, duty, integrity, and honor they have shown our family during this time of trouble cannot be over expressed. My daughter is now 5 years old, she’s been seeing Jill for the last 1.5 year. To say that she’s one of the best is an understatement. I personally have been in therapy for anxiety and there’s no one who compares to her. My daughter went through something very devastating & Jill has been our light through it. If you’re in need of a therapist, this is definitely the place for you! Erin & Darla, the receptionist are just as wonderful. My little girl loves all 3 of these individuals and looks forward to going everytime. Such a welcoming & passionate environment. Although this has been a very difficult thing for my family, Brighter Tomorrows is what gives us hope.

If you're ready for change, this is the place for you. Even though I was court ordered I quickly realized this place has been helpful. In my case I'm learning more than just helpful tips to avoid the charge that brought me here. I wish I would've known about this place years ago. For me C.P.R. has been organized with my paperwork. They have been friendly, and personal, and a lot of the people I've met here I've enjoyed the friendship. I've seen people come here that clearly aren't ready to change, and they don't. They have bad attitudes the whole time, and they're rude to staff. It's sad, but you can't change anyone, you can provide them helpful tools though. The best part of this place? It's open to the public. If I'm still in the area I plan on continuing coming to the classes once my ordered classes are done.
