Nice helpful friendly staff, medical needs taken care of. 3 meals a day plus snacks. The groups sections are very informative. The therapist are very kind with much knowledge and very willing to help.
It helped my daughter she is more happier she has been there for a year and she changed alot

They did a wonderful job with our son. When our son was discharged, he was a different kid for the better. Oaklawn is a great facility, and I would recommend this place to anyone. The staff are very professional and know what to do and how to do it to help the children.

Good place to get help but beware of the groups they force you to talk about issues and then the groups are supposed to be confidential no they are not.my medication doctor sent a referral over about individual therapy which was for a female but instead set me up with a male.my medication doctor stopped communicating and listening to me and chose to listen and communicate with my behavior staff who I see once a week.i like Dr. Soleai but I am the patient not the behavior staff.

I'm pleased to say that there has been many good changes at Oaklawn. I've been going here off and on in the 40+ years since I was in high school (back when it was known as Madison Center), and 99% of the psychiatrists and counselors have always been very good. Though they are not immune from their own confirmation bias. Unfortunately, even though I like most of them, frontline staff has been in the past unsympathetic and cruel.
When you're mentally ill, specifically having Major Depressive Disorder, doing anything at all can seem like an impossible task. Just getting out of bed can be terrifying and seem to have no point. And after you had to fight yourself and the world to get there, being required to fight for yourself and the respect everyone deserves, in a place where they're supposed to be there to help people with mental illnesses, is really not just inappropriate but unforgivable. Fortunately, management is approachable, and will listen. At least they have to me, and have thanked me for bringing certain issues to their attention. Even writing me a letter a week or so after we spoke.
I don't work there, and I only know the things that I've seen and experienced firsthand, but it seems like a much friendlier place to work, less sterile. Which I'm sure positively affects the frontline staffs attitudes. And though frontline staff can seem clickish, and move to defend themselves as a group when one is criticized by a patient, say by gaslighting that patient, management is aware that that is inappropriate.
In the 5 years since my previous review, I only recall one single negative experience.

A decent place for low cost psychiatric care. But the front desk staff in the Physicians floor can be extraordinary rude and unsympathetic. Especially if you mention any displeasure with Oaklawn's rules, they seem to take it as a personal insult, and really need to get a job outside of psychiatric care, because they are not suited for it. They are also discouraging when you come to make an appointment, or pick up patient assistance medications, Etc. They often don't know what they're talking about, so don't let them discourage you from what you're trying to do and insist that they pass on messages to the people and doctors you are trying to contact.
A variety of psychological doctors and therapists. They offer addiction help, including groups and drug testing. On-site pharmacy. They treat both adolescents and adults. Offering many groups for clients wanting to meet new people and learn about their lives or interests. Group homes for those in the community that just need a little more structure.

After I got to the level of methadone where I felt I had no erges to chase drugs on the street, I feel so good, the first time in 40years. I feel normal.
This place is honestly not bad. My first days were horrible but everyone that i talked to related, and had the same first few days as me. the techs are nice and i actually connected with some of them. I actually plan working here as soon as i can because of how hard the techs work and inspire me.

I was extremely hesitant because I had a previous bad experience at another facility, but this place did wonders. Amazing staff, it was clean and organized. Most importantly, my daughter learned a lot of helpful coping skills and she came out much much better than she went in. I couldn’t thank you all enough for that.

Personally, the residential program at michiana helped me SO much. It's run by an amazing program manager, Becca, who goes out of her way to make sure you get the help you need. I spent almost 4 months there and I have to say I'm going to miss it. At first I hated it but over time it insentivised me to change and it helped me love myself enough to want that change. I had a visitation one time and my mom hadnt seen me in like 2 months and she said i was literally glowing, like this program helped put life back in me. Also, staff are so nice and caring. And while some got on my nerves they only had the best intentions. I'll truly never forget what I learned here. Thank you RTC. :) -Lilly

Dr. Kramer and his office are awesome. Jon-Eric was THE best therapist. I was never in patient here, but I heard that they have real mattresses instead of the usual yoga mats. Great facility.

SPA Women’s Ministry is truly amazing. A place you feel Gods presence and love!! A place you truly come as you are but will leave changed!! A place you face reality and truth; but with gentleness and compassion! You walk in welcomed and walk out transformed and feeling Jesus’s tangible love for you.
I volunteer once a month for a fun night and I truly am blessed beyond measure!! (Probably more than I can give). I go with the intention to give and to encourage and I leave more encouraged!! It’s an anointed place and I pray the Lord continues to move and transform through this ministry!
I am truly grateful to be a part of this ministry and beyond grateful to see how God works in the lives of the ladies that make the brave step of walking through the doors to make a change! May God get the glory forever!

I haven’t even been in for my consultation yet and I’m already feeling so incredibly better. I called to get things scheduled and the person I talk to made me feel valid about everything I was feeling and explained why I was feeling that way and helped me realize that I’m not always the problem.
I’ve called the crisis line and that person did the exact same thing. They genuinely know how to help you and I am very excited to start my journey with them!

This place and the doctor she's sees has been amazing. They have really helped her and have been great with adjusting meds as needed and listening to her.
They have helped my life with addiction and as caused the rest of my life to reform and become better then it has been in a long time. It's not just them that has to put the work in. You have to do it for yourself as well. They have never lied nor been on bullshit with me. And they always have a helping hand if you need one.

My daughter is now 5 years old, she’s been seeing Jill for the last 1.5 year. To say that she’s one of the best is an understatement. I personally have been in therapy for anxiety and there’s no one who compares to her. My daughter went through something very devastating & Jill has been our light through it. If you’re in need of a therapist, this is definitely the place for you! Erin & Darla, the receptionist are just as wonderful. My little girl loves all 3 of these individuals and looks forward to going everytime. Such a welcoming & passionate environment. Although this has been a very difficult thing for my family, Brighter Tomorrows is what gives us hope.

I have been very blessed to have God place me at Brighter Tomorrows. I am confident he knew this was the place that would help me grow has a person in all aspects of my life. I respect Jill more than words and scream her praises from the top of the mountains.
This place is awesome, you'll get what you put into it. If your not serious about recovery you'll probably think not, if you are serious this is a safe, drug free place for you to go were we hold each other accountable, until our minds are free enough to hold ourselves accountable. This place really did help me become a productive member of society again.

As of this writing I have a years experience with this location and program so will try and clarify things a bit. An important thing to understand is that each house is independent and ran by the current residents under guidelines set forth by its area chapter which in turn is governed by the state chapter then national program. Each house is run democratically by its residents with a persons power being in their vote. I feel most of the negative reviews I've heard are from those who relapsed or who routinely or egregiously violated rules and were kicked out. The only violations that allow for immediate expulsion are relapse, violence, or those of a potentially criminal nature. This program is not a good fit for everyone as it is more of a peer supported independent living type situation. It is not as rigidly governed as many halfway houses and is better suited for those comfortable in recovery and capable of living independently but still desiring some structure and guidance. As for Emyla specifically I would say it is a great location. It is near downtown with Leeper Park and the river nearly next door. The residents tend to be easy going and get along well. The house is big with 3 full baths, 3 kitchens, and 2 living rooms. It is worth looking into the place to see if it is for you but remember it is not for everyone.
My experience at choices was the best thing I had ever experienced in my life, MS.RACHAEL always had time for me to vent,cry, or just have a normal conversation,not to mention laughter. She is just an ANGEL ON EARTH, just as MS MONICA AND MS. KENZIE, these three LADIES changed my LIFE FOREVER. Ii was a lost soul just wondering around here on earth but they cared enough to show me how,when,why,and where I should be going in life and because of these 3 ANGELS I now own a 2 story log cabin in the woods in TN. , I work for the county HWY DEPARTMENT as an equipment operator and I have taken my life back because of THEIR BELIEF IN ME. if I went to every rehab center in the world I would have never found what I did with the WHOLE STAFF AT CHOICES, LOVE THEM FOREVER, AND THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE ALL I CAN BE!! I have been to icfr in Bloomington and it was the best experience I have ever had with a rehab! I think this will be a great Resource for people that want help!!❤️
It was a decent enough place for someone to get better but that person it is up to the person to want to get better sometimes you reach a point in your life when you know there's no other way sure there are court ordered people to go but the people that step inside on their own they are the people that succeed the most

If you're ready for change, this is the place for you. Even though I was court ordered I quickly realized this place has been helpful. In my case I'm learning more than just helpful tips to avoid the charge that brought me here. I wish I would've known about this place years ago. For me C.P.R. has been organized with my paperwork. They have been friendly, and personal, and a lot of the people I've met here I've enjoyed the friendship. I've seen people come here that clearly aren't ready to change, and they don't. They have bad attitudes the whole time, and they're rude to staff. It's sad, but you can't change anyone, you can provide them helpful tools though. The best part of this place? It's open to the public. If I'm still in the area I plan on continuing coming to the classes once my ordered classes are done.

Karin and Sherrie are best I've ever had the pleasure of knowing in recovery. Sincere and caring about everyone in my group. Never a hard time given for any reason.
